There should be an infantile mode like SAB for people bad at jumping puzzle.

So if active the infantile mode, there’s a cloud ladder creating a separate path that people can just jump on the cloud one by one and reach the destination.

Please vote infantile mode for jumping puzzle too.

He’s talking about when someone ranging him sees the reflect buff and keeps attacking. If they’re standing behind a teammate, those attacks will reflect off of archdiviner and hit the teammate. This 100% the fault of the guy ranging.

people keep complaining about it. Why dont’ people just dont’ stand close to the boss. It last 3 second anyway.

Which is what I’m discussing with another guy. This isn’t youtube. If you meant to tell me all those pug you play with mysteriously all doing mad melee dps at fotm50, I ain’t seeing it. At least for a few boss like mossman or archdiviner.

and another point i’m trying to make is range dps actually isn’t that bad. Base on what people research, if I’m not mistaken, sceptor is the meta weapon for boss with large hit box. Even if you can’t do that with medium/small sized opponent, coupled in with +20% dmg when aegis traits, it’s actually not so bad.

While I would agree on that a player should have a slight sense of being able to max melee before attempting melee on a fotm 50, I see much more times people ranging themselves or others to death during Archdiviner/Anomaly reflect phase.
Ranging in some cases is fine, but it is ludicrous to down team members with it.

It still baffles me those mechanics are not followed up or recognized in the higher tiers.

yah. but anyone getting hit by archdiviner isn’t really good. First he does a pull, and he only did his aoe and reflect after it. Even if your teamates is ranging, if you get hit you are partially at fault too.

If you arn’t good enough to dodge that you probably shouldn’t be meleeing.

And the situation is like saying since the light is green you can cross the street even though a car is speeding towards you.

Your in a pug, come to some senses, presume your teamates isn’t very good. And many of them aren’t. Which is what I’m discussing with the other guy. Many of those pug really aren’t very good. I mean I see people fail the wisp in event 3 times in a row, and he’s doing the easy one too at fotm50.

laokoko do you know what AA stands for by chance?

EDIT: I don’t care about anything that you link me, if all you are doing is auto attacking your not contributing as much as you can be, plain and simple I am right here, plain and simple.

EDIT 2: And to be quite honest, if I were to choose between grouping with 4 other zerkers who AA range in the back or 3 manning with 2 people in full nomads who stay in the front and anchor, I would rather just go with the nomads people atleast they can play anchor or res me if I make mistakes on mai trin.

Sorry, I’m not as pro as you guys. Like you actaully watch what button other teamates press when they ranging.

I just presumed you are one of those guys who have a hatred on people ranging. If I’m mistaken sorry.

My experience is fotm50. Very few pug are actually able to spend all their time meleeing the boss like mossman or last boss of cliffside without dieing or minimum downtime because they spend too much time avoiding dmg.

who wants to play with someone who only spam 2 and 4 ?

This is not exclusive to rangers, I’ve had scepter guards and rifle warriors that AA max range on mossman, cultist leader, and harpy destroyer.

I’m not sure if scepter is even bad dps. If you seen the new updated dnt builds. They actaully talk about using scepter/focus scepter/torch on large boss such as boomerlang or molten duo. Since it is easier that all smite to connect. And if you can keep your aegis up all the time you going to get 20% damage boost from unscatched contender.

I actaully prefer GS for boomerlang myself just because it is easier to use. And for molten duo, I prefer hammer. Since the extra protection and writ or mercy helps the party survive a bit more for meleeing.

here’s the dps chart. But I think the big problem with scepter is you need to make sure your smite connect as much as possible. And you keep aegis up as much as possible.

I don’t know where all this great pug fractal player you been seeing that should melee in fractal.

Because quite honestly 95% of the player are better of ranging. Because most of them spend more time laying on the ground than a ranger bear tanking the boss.

I think almost every pug I’ve been in so far has preferred melee, then again my luck tends to be on my side. I’ve also have been having some really good experience with necromancer players so I guess I’m in happy candy land or something.

I’m not sure which level you are doing.

For boss like Mossman or Archdiviner I see people melee at 50. And most of them die more than twice. I hope people come to their senses they are hurting the team more if they melee and keep dieing.

Some of my pug Archidiviner fight is terrible because I rezed people like 10 times in 1 fight. I hope people come to their senses, they should stay at max range for that unless they are good. And most of them don’t look good to me.

I mean if you are meleeing, dont’ die more than twice in a fight. And apparently a huge percentage of them do.

I dont’ think there’s right or wrong answer to stacking. It’s mostly about your teammates in pug. I’m not sure what’s the point about arguing stacking or not will make a 5 second difference to your kill.

Take for example SE path 3. Many people now prefer to fight in the open. But I prefer stacking myself in PUG just easier to rez people and group the add together. Even if I play elementalist or engineer I prefer stacking. I just dont’ stand in the stack and let the other take damage.

Right, but the question is if normal tier 6 drop more with magic find.

if people are purposely farming say sharks those dont’ drop bags. Not so sure if it’ll drop more tier 6 because of MF.

My suggestion is to just park an alt there and login from time to time. The main problem is the pre events no one really do. I actaully do the pre events just to get my traits, so it is worth it for me. I’m not sure you’ll want to do the pre events over and over again with limited or no help just to get that achievement.

They dont’ have very high single target dps. Very high would mean they are at least higher than the other class. Which is not true. They are not lower but not higher too.

But the group support makes the difference. Necro is self sustainable. But don’t bring much to help other people in the group.

Base on their research is. Top 3 is warrior, elemental, thief. They are just about head and head. I think staff elementist might be the slight highest.

Everything else is just about the same in tier2. Neco(berserker) is about same as every other class. But the big difference is necro don’t really have any skill that buff might for the group. So that’ll cause the group to lower.

I actaully have a nomad set too. and for wvw I use soldier.

It’s probably getting off topic. But if a person never dies in pve, what’s the point about other set which kills slower.

I only use defensive set when I have problem surviving. and that dont’ happen very often in pve.

I think your pushing like everyone else who make multiple set of the same thing or buy multiple mining pick for alt is some weirdo.

Don’t get me wrong, I respect your opinion and suggestion. But I dont’ think the chance of Anet making the change is high. Mostly because ascended is the last gier tier.

And quite honestly, I doubt many people would use anything other than berserker in pve. Mostly because they dont’ have a problem surviving in almost all the pve content in berserker.

That reduced cost is not for paying for gearing, because the account bound item is already obtained, but to save the time and hassle of switching the stuff cosntantly between characters.

you act like no one is willing to pay those extra just to remove the hassle to switch gear.

I have like 5 zojja’s greatsword because I don’t like the hassle. I have multiple zojja’s heavy armor set and lightarmor set too.

Many people I know actually crafted multiple gear set eventhough they can just run to the bank.

I’m a partial mix myself. Some of the characters I played more often, I just craft a seperate set for them. The characters I play less often I just use the bank to swap gear.

Making another set is an even greater hassle and grind for something I’ve already done.

THe point I’m making is not about making this easy and cheap.

It’s making it so there’s no downside to have multiple characters over favoring just one.

For a single-character player with a “main” that barely plays with the other characters this is a non-issue.

For players who favor multiple characters it’s something to be fixed, the same way dyes and miniatures were fixed: Account unlocks.

maybe the whole reason this game dont’ have gear tier is because almost everyone have so many alts, and there is so many gear stats/upgrade combination.

I’m not arguing with you, I’m just saying do you really expect Anet to make things any easier.

Because this is probably the most alt friendly mmorpg already. I mean do you not have to grind your tier gear for every single of your alt in other mmorpg too?

My point isn’t that I want to do things faster than normal. My point is that I want to get the same results out of my time and effort as everyone else. Obviously, yes it should take longer to outfit multiple characters. However, in every other game I’ve played, if I have two characters it takes twice as much in game time playing, three characters takes three times my time, and four…. But, in GW2, if I have two characters, it doesn’t matter if I spend twice the time in game farming and crafting as someone with one character, I can’t reap the same benefits of that time spent. For each extra character that I have in game, I get less out of my time exponentially.

ascended armor is put in last year. If you craft everyday, you can make enough bold of damask to craft 18 sets of ascended armor.

I bet you dont’ have 18 sets.

Also you can buy the items directly from the trading post. Take damask for example you just need to spend 2 gold per damask if you dont’ want to wait.

Ascended armor probably take average folks like 50 hours of farming to get it. I dont’ see how 3-4 more hours more really matter that much to buy from TP directly.

I don’t understand how anyone can be rich enough to craft so many ascended gear.

And that is from someone who crafted like 6 sets of ascended armor and like 30 ascended weapon.

Just make sure to refine everyday. Not only when you needed it. You should have more than enough by now.

Also you can buy deldrimore ingot or bolt of damask from the trading post. So you dont’ need to wait.

I also bought like 12 ascended amulet with laurel. I dont’ have a problem with laurel. There is a bank with reasons. Just go to the bank and grab it if you need it. I have 26 lvl80 right now. Dont’ mean I need 26 ascended amulet.

I listened to an interview by Colin and he mentioned about it. Talking how wvw is the large scale combat, spvp is the small group fight. He’s thinking about some middle sized fight himself.

That being said, it’s probably too hard to do it in the context of guild since there is too big of variation on guild size and activities. It probably have to be similar to EOTM but with a bit more depth.

I don’t even know what you mean. As I dont’ play GW1.

I think he means a fight where the entire guild can participates and not just 5-10 of the 500 people in the guild.

I have no idea how the stronghold or ranking system will work. So it’s a bit early to say. I hope that it is something everyone in the guild can participates, and not only 5-10 of the best people in the guild can participates and hope no other people join so it won’t bring down the ranking.

That being said, the things they said will be in the expansion already blow my mind. Having a large battle where the entire guild can participate would be cool. But I’m not let down because there is so much things coming in expansion already.

Also I think the ability to register as a guild and rank a team is quite cool. That’s not previously done very well before.

I doubt I’m good enough to make the cut for my guild’s stronghold team. But I’m sure I’ll be cheering on them. I hope a guild’s can register multiple team also so more people can participate.

For sure. I mean I could spend the bandit crest now to buy obsidian shard or crafting bag. But what if Anet fixed condition damage and it become the new meta.

Why get rid of skill point acquisition?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’m surprised so many people use skill point for superior siege.

Since for example superior flame ram is only 13 silver on buy order. You’ll need to spend 1 skill point just to save 10 silver to craft it.

If you are willing to drop say 10$ cash, that can buy you around 650 superior flame ram. I personally spend 10$ a month buying gem myself.

That really makes sense because people will have to craft it, if it isn’t you it’s someone else who will not have skillpoints as well. Not sure what your point is.

I always thought almost all of the superior siege weapons on the trading post are from rewards such as JP/map completion/rank up etc.

I’m surprise people willing to spend a skill point just for 10 silver.

You can make much more money promoting other items. If you willing to take some time to buy lots of tier 1 wood, and craft them into plank. You can probably make 4 gold per skill point. You can buy like 30 siege that way.

That’s why I always thought all the siege from the trading post are from map completion or rank up.

edit: i mean promoting tier 2 wood not tier 1. that’s a mistake.

Why get rid of skill point acquisition?

I’m surprised so many people use skill point for superior siege.

Since for example superior flame ram is only 13 silver on buy order. You’ll need to spend 1 skill point just to save 10 silver to craft it.

If anyone didn’t know there’s a vendor which sell glove with karama. You can buy 4 and put it in mystic forge which give a new glove you can salvage for linen. So you can make about 8silver/1000 karma, that can probably help with the war effort.

If you are willing to drop say 10$ cash, that can buy you around 650 superior flame ram. I personally spend 10$ a month buying gem myself.

when the imbued shaman bubbled. Does he regen any health at all. Or he only regen health when he reached a villager.

Also when he reached a villager does he regen 25% health immediately? or he slowly kill the villager and regen life from the villager.
