It’s improbable that they did 70 runs. My average is about 30 minutes at the minimum if you swap maps. This puts it at 35 hours to get that many runs.
I did under 12 runs and got both chests.
base on the reddit post I think someone says they did 36 and another said they did 28 runs. That is like 12 hours ago.
I’m not sure how many runs I did actually. I know it is more than 12, I started counting 7 runs ago. And judging by the organs I did at least 5 more before. So 12 runs of nothing.
It’s probably possible because you can mostly afk and just do the events at the end. So people have time to rest.

You should read that post. Desertions isn’t counted before. Anet just added the desertion you did previously.

Also I think they added some loss for desertion you did this ladder season. So if you DC or something a few weeks ago, it’ll be added on your loss column today.

Quite hoenstly, I just use rune of traveler or speed, it’s unreal annoying to keep swaping etc.
And I wouldn’t use retreat + save yourselves in for example EOTM. There are better utility for it. I’ll rather have stability and some kind of reflect. Rune of speed is actually a good rune for EOTM anyway.
Dungeon, sometimes people get really picky if you didn’t max your dps.
Obviously if you don’t care about capping(karma or wvw exp), you won’t care about running faster. I happened to care about it.
Also those speed do help in dungeon. Obviously if you are a good player, you wont’ need to worry about moving faster. But I’m not. Besdies it also makes skipping easier, or doing jumping puzzle in harpie fractal.

I’m addicted to Rune of the Traveler or Rune of Speed on my Guardian.
I cannot not have it.
Really hope you’re using it in WvW then and not PvE, otherwise… facedesk.
I think that’s part of where the problem is. I “could” use traveler’s rune or speed rune, but it is widely frown upon by others.
Many class dont’ need to sacrifice their meta to get good mobility.
What I’m trying to explain is during 0-70% silverwaste there is no body. I can literally count the people and there probably isn’t more than 5 trying to take or defend keep.
Breech isn’t a problem. Since you can just post in LFG that you are almost at breach and people’ll start coming in.
That being said, the only reason I hope there are more people during the early phase of silverwaste events is it is easier to farm karma and badges that way. I suppose many people just felt the rewards is only good at breech so they only come at that time.
You could pay those gems to switch server.
Since you dont’ seem to care about wvw. You don’t need to pay to move back. But the fee to switch server is quite big.
That is if you really care that much about map completion.
I think the topic is better rephrase to why do “certain class have better mobility”.
I think looking at the bigger picture is better than pin pointing the 25% utility skill.
Remember you also need to sacrifice an utility slot, just like some class need to traited a certain way. (eventhough utility is a bit easier to quick switch than traits)
And some class’s meta build naturally use speed boost traits, so it is hard to say they have a disadvantage.

I think it depend on your build. For example, almost every warrior would spec in to the trait to boost speed so it’s hard to say warrior is at an disadvantage.
And take necromancer for example, they probably never use the boost speed utility, since the meta for dungeon use warhorn trait which give them permanent speed. and the meta for pvp I believe just wont’ sacrifice an utility slot just for the speed.
And complaining about necro is funny. I’m pretty sure it’s a terrible roamer. You’ll miss a bunch of karma in EOTM even if you have permanent speed.

you dont’ have to stack.
But if you get agro mobs would move out of the stack and melee people would have to chase them.
And there is some boss (for example first boss in SE path 1) will do special attack if someone isn’t in melee range. In that case, you can fight at the side or behind the boss, but you dont’ really have to stand in front to take the hit. But you need to be in melee range else the boss will do his special attack.
When I’m playing my staff elementist, I dont’ always stack up. Because there is no point unless I get agro, I’ll have to stack up on the group so mobs wont’ move out of the way.
One of our guildmates (our dungeon-running guardian) has suggested that this has something to do with them being just outside the hitbox, where because the amount of damage the mesmer does, gets them stomped right through the stack, rather than the bigger norn guardian being hit first.
Base on my understanding, it have nothing to do with it.
It’s quite annoying to do fractal with people that dont’ have agony resistance.
regular dungeon isn’t so bad. It’s not like most people isn’t wear good dps gear already anyway.

Backpack plays with Abjured, The best team in the game.. They won last WTS, and they win every ESL weekly, and they will definately go to PAX east WTS where they have an extremely good chance of winning again. No team on NA, including the second best team (DoD) is even close…
well, they probably deserve to be on top of the ladder if that’s the case. I presume currently the top of ladder is filled with soloq players?
I’m not sure how those solo players will feel if the top of ladders are full with teams with barely any loss though. Probably the same way that team players are complaining now.

I think all the build is on meta battle.
For open world leveling(map completion). Warrior and theif get the top spot on my vote because high mobility. Though I think the fastest map completion time (like 30 hours) I seen is on a elementist.
For dungeon “PUG”, I vote guardian over anything. I can’t remember the numbers of time I hear people say “let me switch to guardian” when the dungeon/fractal start to run bad.
For premade dungeon or spvp, you actually need a mix group composition. So it is hard to say, but a few class definitely is more prefered than other.

Said this, try to imagine a league system scenario + matches cap. For example a max number of 150 matches/Season (5 matches/day for 30 days).
Base on what Morath said, even if he wins all 150 matches. He’s probably getting very little point for everyone of the match?
While it is possible that other people can get more point if they perform better than expected.
And who ever get on the top depends on how much Anet favors expected wins and unexpected wins.
I just dont’ think teamq and soloq should be put on the same ladder. Or they should create another ladder with longq for teams that want to compete.
Maybe they can keep everything the way it is now. But create a seperate ladders where teams only need to play very few games to compete on a seperate ladder which have long queue.

You should see how bad their prediction is before. So I won’t take it too seriously.
In a resent post of nc soft they are saying that an expansion will come in 2015 for gw2. So this probably means an expasion is comming this year????

Thief is my least played character. And I’m pretty much a punch bag in unranked. After a few loss I went to practice arena to get the daily.
Hope it get better when they include class MMR.
I finished my map completion 25 times. It is really a patient game. I just wait till our server claim the land to get the point.
I didn’t get the exo aquabreather. Didn’t even think about it. As it’s not like we fight underwater very much. I did pvp over the holiday but I used it to get the dungeon accessory.

Their speculation isn’t the same ours, no. Invesment companies tend to have connections in the industry to be able to promote reliable predictions. Yeah, it is not the same as an announcement from Ncsoft, however, an invesment company won’t just go there and release such info if they don’t have hints. They release such predictions, people invest. This is an industry and money is on the line. It is far from personal personal speculation that is usually based upon vague information that is hardly considered facts.
@laokoko: I don’t know about this group, but most invesment companies have inside information otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to ’’predict’’.
Eitherway, if they await such a huge spike in Q3, it means the announcement is probably coming this month.

having a lot of recent information isn’t the same as inside information. THey might be perdicting base on the hint ncsoft make.

The reality to me is there is no way to know how good you are in solo queueing unless you play a lot of games.
I always thought other esports games do the same. To be high rank in solo queueing you have to play a lot of games. Since there is too many things to factors, such as how good your teammates or other teams are.
For team fight, it is totally different, since it is much easier to determine. So you only need to play a few games every week/month.
Correct me if I’m wrong. If someone knows much about esports maybe they can share what’s happening on other games ladder.
I also think it is a test season so everything is shortened. You probably don’t need to play that many games everyday in a full season.

well in that case warrior need 40 second group reflect too. And the ability to provide permanent protection to the whole group.
And the ability to heal the whole group without a lot of dps.

It’s not about breach. Breach probably usually success. Since that’s when people taxi in.
But 0-70%. There are very few people on the map. There is so few people, you can’t really defend a keep.
It get really frustrated to join a silverwaste map, and you can’t really do anything since you dont’ have enough people to defend any keep.
I’m playing on NA server. I’m not sure about peak time. But anything other than peak time, there just isn’t much people there besides breach time.
I’m trying to do some events in silverwaste. But there is barely any people. I tried it in several different time. 5am esatern, no people. now 3pm eastern still not much people.
only time that seem to have people is maybe at near breech as to taxi people in.
There are just way too many monsters and even if a keep is take it is lost immediately since there is just no way to keep the warmaster alive with the amount of people in it.
I’ve been running a celestial staff ele and I’m not even thinking about changing back to zerker. I’m glad I’m free from that meta, now (with my traits) I can deal almost the SAME damage with great direct damage/condi. damage output and healing/condi. removal output. Celestial has changed elementalist builds completely.
Is there actually some testing or “you think” you are doing almost the same damage.
Quite honestly most of the time I have no idea what dmg I’m doing.

I think it is also a learn to play issue. Warrior is so easy to play back when the game is out. Now other people have started to learn how to play the other class better, they get pretty good at it.
Also ranger rapid fire get a huge boost. So it’s not too bad to range now. Especially in fractal since most pug is ranging anyway.
I think most of the top dungeon runner view necro as the least loved class. Engineer can acutally stack might so people like them. And their damage is actually pretty good. Thief people use them for stealth.
FGS is nerfed btw.
I have 25 map completion. I think you just don’t know how to play because every class is very easy to level in open world. Which is understandable if you are new to the class.
Thief is actually wanted in many dungeons because it can stealth.
warrior is also nerfed in pve since adrenaline drop much faster. I dont’ think it is “that” much in demand compare to before.
I see a bunch of engineer in speed runs I don’t know why. Rangers isn’t like much in dungeon. Necro…. don’t have much love.

Like I probably purposely mention the word sclerite weapon a few times. That being said, it haven’t turn out good for me. I’m tracking a weapon for 4 month and only 1 have been sold.
I do think it’s kind of shady. I live in Taiwan. And recently a person have been arrested for manipulation penny stock, bumping up the price by using multiple stock account. All he does is bought a bunch of stock, and release it when other people chase high. That being said the penalty is so small, he only need to do like 50 hours of community service.

And for those of you who tell me to solo q… LOL… I will fight a premade bc of my MMR and why should I solo q in a team game??? Last I checked your supposed to support people teaming up, not degrade it… And those 80 wins include teams like dodge or die, and every other decent team out there

That being said, to be competitive those top teams need to fight each other.
I can accept fighting premades “occasionally”. But If I’m fighting premades after premades, that’s when I get kittened.
From what I’ve been told, the class you play don’t matter.
Meaning you won’t have easier match up just because you never play necro before.
Most of my match up isn’t too bad. Meaning I do face 5 man premade when solo queueing but the loss isn’t usually too bad. like around 500-250.
The bad loss is when I loss 500-20 or something like that. When a bunch of dragon finisher lay top on me(I’m around rank 35). But those are usually rare.

So you should see people on the open world.
As question. When I play turret engineer I found myself nearly invisible in lower tier arena, and when I face turret engineer on other class, I always loss.
That being said, once in a while I face an actually good players, for example a good warrior and he beat me everytime when I try to hold a point.
I take that people in upper tier knows how to counter turret engineer. Can give some pointers?

No you don’t understand. I mean I can do anything pve. Like dungeon, EOTM, map completion, silverwaste, drytop, fractal, tequalt, even key farming, harvesting. And make 10 gold per hour.
If you want to call every pve activities in this game farming, I have nothing more to say. Like what else are you going to do when you logon?
Only thing that dont’ reward good gold is spvp and wvw. And even if spvp dont ’reward anything many people do it. And I actually do spvp just to finish my dungeon collection. So that is rewarding in another sense.
Can you tell me how you make ten gold an hour? I’ve seen people claim this a lot but never proved a way to do it. And as such I dismiss such claims as pure fantasy.

My solutions to both problems:
A) Make harder content more rewarding. Period. Someone posted on these forums a nice idea of variable rewards based on how the community is performing on certain dungeon paths. Those done quickly and more often will start offering less rewards, while those who are rarely done, and take considerable amount of time, will offer far more rewards. By making the rewards variable, Anet devs won’t have to balance them every few months by hand, let the system do it on its own.
I wrote both the Dungeon Reward post, and the one linked in the OP.
I think the problem is people end up just selling and buying dungeon path anyway.
Like arah is difficult. It end up that 1 person is doing the path and 4 people is buying it without spending much because the rewards is good. I have guildmates that sell it for 3-4 gold regularly. And I’m getting free token and he’s getting money.
