I rarely see pug have problem with high level fractal besides a few of the boss fight.

So it is probably overkill to wear knight gear unless you are doing boss fight.

Uping dificulty to diversify builds is a trap

I’m struggling to wrap my head around this idea.

I run two different builds on my Guardian – pure Berserker and PTV with a heavy focus on Vitality and Toughness. I notice considerable differences in survivability between the two builds.

Why the thought “toughness/vitality doesn’t matter” exists is beyond me.

EDIT: the post above me – “A guardian, meanwhile, runs with 12k life pool” – um…what? A proper tank-spec. Guardian can get 25k HP with little problems. Not everything needs a Berserker group.

Nothing is easier than 4 full might character using icebow though. Since everything dies in 10 seconds. I think that’s what the OP is basically saying.

difficulty level different fractals of mist?

laokoko.7403

the difficulty differnece is not big for level 1 and 8. The difference only go up more for different tier. So 11 is harder than 1, but 8 is similar to 1. You only gain personal level if you do fractal higher level than you. So that’s why people usually choose the higher level.

level 31+ you get mistlock instability. (google it). So people typically choose the easier ones, 32, 36,37,38,40,49,50.

I think 1-10 is tier 1.
11-20 is tier 2
21-30 is tier 3
31-40 is tier 4
41-50 is tier 5

I think the reality is GS/sword/focus meta is very defensive. Just look at all the blind, block you have.

If you are doing hammer, you might as well take the grandmaster traits too. Battle presence is a good group buff. Force of will boost your hp quite huge.

I find force of will particular good, when you actually have problem surviving.

Posted by: laokoko.7403

The average run takes 25* minutes (for 50) in an experienced organised group with good synergy, a lot slower in less organised groups however (40-50 min and 45 ish+ for average pug).

again this guy with his 25 minutes on lvl 50.

well many people lurking here are one of those youtube people.

I see quite a few of people here posting youtube video regularly.

and some are in hardcore dungeon guild, and if they don’t do good they get kick, so they have to be good.

see i strongly disagree with this. It last 3 second. Maybe you should just back out.

The way I see it is, if you die, doesn’t matter how bad the group is, it’s always the dead person’s fault.

If you are truly pro, you should be able to melee regardless how bad your group is.

Wtf… Ever tought of partywide aegis?

Exactly, you should never blame your teammates.

I always blame the lag when the happen.

“oh man, the lag, I can’t see my aegis got knocked of that’s why I die”.

That being said, you can blame people if it is a premade. But if it’s a pug, and your aegis get knocked of, that is expected.

Oh, but wait, those take charged quartz crystals, eh not a big deal right just go to the home instance and mine a few a day until you can charge them up (since we all know the Zephyrites don’t have anything to celebrate and we’ll never be able to farm there ever again) … Oh what? You don’t have a Quartz node in your home instance? (Where the kitten were you?) That’s right your a new player, silly me … Hmm, what are your options, go to Dry Top and wait and farm a node or three a day (hopefully within the allotted time frame)… Are you sure you really want to craft those charged ambrite orichalcum earrings, really?

Do they really deserve that kind of treatment?

Everything is much easier if you just use the trading post.

For example, spend 2 minutes and teleport to a iron node. Harvest. Sell those iron. Buy 25 quartz crystal from the trading post. Way point to a skill point to commute(1 minutes).

There you go, done in 3-4 minutes. You get a charged crystal.

Will current precursors get cheaper on TP?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

need to see if the new precursor can be forged and if it is tradable.

If the new precursor is forgeable but non tradable. That means the old precursor will only have 50% chance of dropping.

New precursors can only be crafted by a very, very long process.

Old precursors can either be crafted by the same process, or they can be found/obtained through RNG, or they can be bought.

All new precursors and old precursors that are crafted will become account bound. All old precursors that are found/obtained will remain tradable.

Woodenpotatoes did a video on this, with video of the precursor crafting achievement page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhIXYGQR-fQ

There are no official info, or any interview which say it right? So everyone just interpret it in their own way base on the blog anet posted.

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-legendary-journey/

And my interpretation is there are no official word that the new precursor can’t drop from mystic forge/open world. Only ting they say is it will be account bound.

And you also notice Anet stress that people can get more than one of the same precursor for the old ones. If people want more of the same new legendary how will people be able to get it?

So my interpretation is I don’t know, and I doubt any one knows until Anet release more info.

And laokoko, in your answer you’re basically blaming the OP’s decision, but not at all developping why my answer results in “bad game design” while I’m developping why it wouldn’t affect the current trends of the TP.

It’s a bad game design because Anet probably have better things to do than dealing with “very few whinners” who complain about listing fee because they keep trying to undercut people by low amount.

Basically OP like orange, someone like apple. You can’t really compare what people prefer.

If you don’t realize many people actually don’t like the system OP or you proposed. You can’t really ask me why I don’t like your system right? I just dont’ like it. Mostly because it is risk vs rewards. You can risk it by selling high or playing safety by undercut more. It’s fun to me.

Hum no. The problem here has never been about people pricing too low, but people who price too high so they get left out.
I just gave a solution for them that would not hinder the undercuters. That’s all. And that’s the main problem mentioned by the OP.

You price your good low, it has a chance to get sold right away.
Now, what about those who were around the right range of price at their time but end up with a too expensive product half a year later ?
They should have a way to get their chance at selling their product. And my post answered that problem

Their not at the right range of price. Take for example I place a buy order for x item at 70.99 silver.

In two weeks I have never bought a single one of that item. because there is always people over bidding by one copper. And there are tones selling everyday. Right now the buy order is at 71.1 silver.

If you have a habit of crafting high price item, weather that is legendary or mjonir or whatever. If you only undercut by 1 gold. The chance of you getting undercut is really really high. It will literally never sell. But if he undercut by 100-200, it have a much better chance to getting sold.

I would guess OP is trying to sell eternity. If he thinks a second he should know the price is trending down, since there are more and more people who try to sell it after the wardrobe system. He should have undercut more to begin with.

Plus, by limiting the correction, it would still force people to aim for an accurate price otherwise they’ll have to change their price little by little every few months and might not make it to the right price in time.

The system is already limiting the correction. If the OP undercut by more in the first place, he won’t get into this problem.

If the OP don’t want to get undercut, he should undercut more so less people will try to undercut him.

Like I said before, there is no right or wrong answer.

Right now I have a black lion weapon which have no supply on the trading post(just a sclerite rifle no one probably care). If I can switch price at will, I’ll list it for 2000 gold right now on the trading post and not worry about paying a penalty if it dont’ sell. Instead I have to decide if I want to gamble and sell it cheaper.

There is pros and cons for every system. And Anet just happen to went with theirs.

Apparently this player spent 200g on listing a Legendary for 2,000g (most likely undercutting others already listed). More people posted up the same Legendary at a cheaper price than his, thus his won’t sell. Now he wants the ability to change his original price without penalty or fee so that he can undercut those that undercut him.

Yes, it is as silly as it sounds.

I’m a bit confused, why is it silly for a salesman to rearrange his pricing and offer his goods for the same/a lower price as his competitors?
He has already lost the 200g and would lose additional money by taking it away from his possible profit?

There is nothing wrong with it. The OP can change his price right now, he just loss 200 gold.

And quite honestly, the OP didn’t loss 200 gold. He most likely just make less profit.

There isn’t even anything wrong with what the OP suggested. Anet just happen to think their system fit their game better.

Many bid/trading system charge listing fee. Some mmorpg even charge listing fee if items don’t sell in 24 hours.

I like the idea OP suggested, except people should be able to set 2 price. A listing price and a lowest selling price which would automatically adjust the price if he get undercut untill his lowest selling price. A similar system could be use on bidding price too. That is just my personal preference.

There is no right or wrong answer, it’s just people’s preference.

I think some of the precursor market also have to do with people gambling in mystic forge.

You have to wait to see how the tier5 market changes. And how the new precusor and mystic foge factor in the formula.

People who are farming precursor for money most likely will target all the expensive ones first, so those will be the prime target first.

There will also be achievement hunter who probably try to get every precursor.

If you dont’ want to take the risk of being undercut, you can sell your legendary 200 gold below the market price to begin with.

I’m not saying your suggestion is bad. But I’m basically saying the reason you have profit to begin with is there are no system which you can change your sell listing price at will.

Skipping Vs. Fighting

I think it’s the part some skpping is fun to do.

For example the tunnel in AC where there are trap and some scavenger patrolling. It take some skill, probably more so than killing those trash mob to pull it off.

And the thing is people like challenge. Finding more efficient ways to do the content some time become the challenge, so you can keep improving your dungeon clear time.

And some trash mob just isn’t challenge at all. I’m not sure what’s the fun in them. If the difficulty is on par with fotm50 dredge or urban battleground, that can be fun. But as it is, some of those trash dont’ offer any challenge at all.

I dont’ have a problem with killing all the mobs. I played a mmorpg where you have to kill all the monster in the dungeon “in a time constraint” or you won’t get any loot at all. That is challenging.

I think it’s the challenging part that makes dungeon fun. And once a dungeon is beaten, improving your time(or finding better way to do things) become the only challenge in the game.

I think you missed my point, people shouldn’t focus so kitten just getting an epic reward, they need to enjoy themselves so they don’t grate on every little negativity.

the thing is it should be reasonable.

If someone really ran FOTM50 900 times and only gotten 1 skin. He have good reason to complain.

I ran 38, 50 for a few month and I gotten 30 skins. If he ran FOTM50 for 3 years everyday and only gotten 1 skin, he have every reason to complain.

That being said, I honestly doubt the OP really ran FOTM50 900 times. He might mean his FOTM dialogue says 900, which is really like 225 runs and most of them low level fractal. And most of his run might be before the fractal update which was 5%. It’s now 10%.

OP should stop running fotm every day then, take a break and come back at a later date, question is are the fotm skins so highly desired by this person they justify overly grinding for them rather then taking casual time so as to not burn out on it?

He probably ran alot. But I highly doubt he actually ran fotm50 900 times. He should have averaged like 50 skins already. Since it was 5% before. It is 10% now. So if some one ran it 900 times, they should have gotten 90 skins.

This is the disconnect I see on the forums. Some of us get nothing which is why we’re angry.

I don’t think you understand. Unless the loot table is broken. It is literally impossible to get 1 skin in 900 FOTM50 full run. The chance of that happen is smaller than a meteor hit the earth and earth explode tomorrow.

He might be unlucky, but I think he didnt’ actually mean 900 full FOTM50 runs. Like I said before, he might just mean his achievement dialogue says 900.

If the OP returns, maybe he can clarify. Since 900 times means he ran fractal50 everyday since it’s released. If he can clarify if he really did that, that’ll clear things up.

I think just saying 900 is confusing since not sure what he mean full fractal run or 900 fractal instance.
