I would suggest you invest in trinket. Get +10 agony infusion for your back and 2 ring. with the amulet, and accecory you can get +60 agony on just the trinket.
After that just 2 piece of armor and you can get +70.
But with the release of new fractal, price of agony infusion might be high now.
Also mesmer and elementalist share the same armor so that’s not too much of a problem, though you might need to make a sacrifice to go berserker and scholar rune for armor.
King’s fractal guide actually have a guardian just kiting those sanvir.
But I think your original question is, mobs and hp. My opinion, that is needed, because right now, bosses die too fast. There is absolutely no strategy involved, and people dont’ need to learn the fight mechanic.
For example Molten Duo, everyone just pop up reflect, and maybe ice bow and try to melt it. Many of the players I meet dont’ even know what dodge or jump is. People won’t need to learn any boss mechanic if the only strategy is kill the boss before they do any damage.
And in organized group, the fight is really easy, not because the players are mechanically better, but because people can do simple task like stack might and press 4 on icebow.
And I think they are doing some thing about mistlock stability. I remember the days doing those in pug. So they are actually changing the mechanics around. Some of the instability really does make the fight much harder.
You really only need to kill one ice elemental. Just run far away from them, you’ll loss agro, go back, kill one, and you are all set.
But it’s not reliable in pug. And for premade, they some time dont’ bother to waste the time to run far away.
IMO high end fractal is suppose to be hard. Hard enough that people that only do pug like me will probably never see. That’s a good thing.
The problem is pve is too easy. I’m not sure where you need healing power in pve. You need to change the game content more than you need to change the mechanic.
and another problem is you can heal too much without investing any point in healing, so no one bother to put point into it. The best way to me is to nerf the base healing so it’ll make it more rewarding to put point in healing power.
and there’s always those try hard, if people dont’ min/max dps, they’ll yell at people. That’s probably why healing power isn’t rewarding in pve. Since people will expect you to be good at dodging and dont’ rely on defense.
I don’t use multiwars, because I’m kind of the paranoid type. I’m too worry about hacks or virus.
A easy way is to just use a hexeditor. For example hexedit.
Make a duplicate of your Guild Wars 2 folder. Use hexedit to open GW2.exe, and find and replace every “Guild Wars 2” and replace it with “Guild Wars 3”.
You have to do that with every new patch though.
But the thing is, it is way too hard to play multiple account at the same time, especially if you dont’ have multiple monitor. Because there is no follow command. I seen a guy from Thailand able to play 2 account at the same time pretty well, he was doing cof farm or frost gauge farm, and I didn’t really notice he is playing with 1 computer. I never asked how he did it though. But me personally, I think it is almost impossible to play 2 account at the same time like 2 person playing 2 account.
I have no comment about events. The schedule is a problem. And most people wont’ even bother because it is too hard to win.
But for the solo records run, I think there should be a separate category for different class. Instead of seeing who’s the fastest to solo a dungeon, it can be who’s the fastest guardian or necro etc. It’s probably much more impressive to see a necro soloing some of the dungeon instead of warrior or elementalist. Though it might be a problem to maintain so many records.
I already said i have 70 stacks but that doesnt mean that I intend to sell them. I charge quartz daily since the start of the year, even though i dont have any need for it. But if Anet brings out new sinks for charged quartz, i will have enough and its also a way for me to store more quartz per slot.
It is quite surprising you go through all those trouble when you only have 70 stacks. Especially from a big time trader.
I dont’ even know why you go through all those trouble like mystic forge wood on the trading post. If I’m as rich as you, I won’t even bother with that. Especially you said you are not interested in legendary before.
I suppose this boss is impossible to solo at high level?
Since I saw some amazing things on youtube, and I still never seen people able to solo him.
I just join a group with this bug.
The dredge boss would pounce the ground and insta down most people. Even when I’m 3000 yards away I’ll still get hit half hp on warrior.
I left the group since I dont’ have enough time today. Felt pretty bad for those new fractal players since it made it harder than fractal 50.
Not sure what cause the bug, since it is the first time I saw it. Hope Anet fix the bug.
There is story mode, which is easier. People just don’t want to run it because rewards isn’t as good.
Name is perfect just see what Guardians do with Teq at the moment :P
Then Dragon Exploiter might be a better name. :P
I told people Dragon Hunter will be like dovahkiin which beat dragons with shouts.
People laughed at me before…
Twice. A reflected projectile can be reflected but that’s it, it can’t be re-reflected after that.
just want to confirm. So it’s pointless to cast feedback since the boss reflect projectile and if I cast feedback it wont’ do anything?
it might be one of the temple at other places, like dwayna etc.
you can still get the skill point, use a pet or consumable that summon pet, or get a frend to hold agro on the thornes and run in to get the skill point. Some invisible consumable might also help like ash legion spy kit.
I was doing archdiviner. To protect the party from the 3 second reflect the boss does, I cast feedback on it.
Is there even any point? Since I’m not sure if you can reflect a reflect. So even if I cast feedback, I’m not sure if that’ll protect anyone from their own missle.
it’s base on a popular chinese mythology
well you guys are too hardcore for me.
The traits and skill points could cost like 30 gold + 250 skill points. Which could easily be turned to like 300 gold.
You guys would spend 300 gold just to save 2 hours of skill challenge. That’s hardcore.
why are people even complaining. Now you get 80% of your skills unlock automatically at lvl80. And you only need to spend about 2 hours doing skill challenge to get the rest.
And skill points is really valuable. It can be converted to gold with promotion. And you can use it to make legendary and ascended gear.

The most recent of many.
Short answer.
If you don’t like it, don’t do it.
Start your own LFG saying no stack, and kick anyone who does. Thanks!

Spectacular! Why didnt I think of that ! rolls eyes
Seriously, look at other mmo high level encounters and then this stacking issue, and tell me you actually think this is a superior way to play a game.
Do you think it have anything to do with AI.
or is it just that other game require only tank to stand infront of mob, and healer dps hiding behind. Many class dont’ have cleave so there’s no benefit, long CC’s which break when mob get attack etc.
So is bringing two necros to Mossman. I’m against pulling Mossy underwater, but I’m also against double necro in F50 as it’s just wasting other peoples time.
as if wasting your own time or other people time isn’t something we do every passing minute of writing here…
Ofc not, I only kittenpost in this cesspool while I’m at work. That’s not wasting my time, but my employers.
I have no doubt elementalist and icebow is the way to go.
I just think in pug, it just really don’t matter.
Let’s say a fight takes 20 second in a good pug. If you have a necro it’ll be 30 second.
Do you really think those 10 second is what slows pug? Hack, you spend more time waiting for the party to enter the dungeon. If some one died during skipping, or if someone is in combat when someone tried to teleport, you’ll waste more than a minute.
what does the topic have anything to do with SW grind?
SW does gives u shards but not at a very good rate. karma farming is still much better and fastest way to get shards. 1-3 from chest every now and then and on the rare occasion 10 from a chest. but that is completely inconsistent. Crests for vendor and chest is sooo slow. Karma is by far the fastest and easiest way. You Spend 1000 keys in SW and get maybe 100-125 shards. Or hit EotM karma train and get a stack in a couple hours. I’ve made 5 legendaries since SW released EotM is definitely the fastest. hands down.
…except you get karma in SW also.
From SW u get shards from crests, chests, and karma.
….except you get 10x as much karma from one event in EotM than you do in SW. Plus if you’re running chest, the chances of an event actually completing and NOT failing is slim to none. and 250 crests for 5 shards …ya no ty. You can run events all day and still not even come close to the amount you would get from karma in EotM.
ya the thing which hit me is if you are doing events, you are actually not chest farming. And if you chest farm, you’ll need to spend the crest and not doing events.
That’s why I don’t think SW farm is “that good” for karma(obsidian shard).
But I think you might underestimates the karma/crest you can get from SW events. If you actually just run all over the map and tag every events, the karma return is actually pretty great. Though people might despise you for playing that way instead of actually contributing.
Not only that the main reason so many people farm SW is it is by far the best way to get gold and karma at the same time.
I think it is more dependent on what you need.
For example SW chest train, it will net you a bunch of champ bag also which gives you good money and skill points. It’s probably the best way to get karma(obsidian) if you want money also.
For teq, you get really good karma for 15 minutes of events. The catch is there is usually prep time, especially at off time. And if you want teq hoard, there’s a chance at it.
Wvw, will give you badges if you need it, and also Wvw experience. You will also get some champ bag.
If you are doing fractal’s 38 with personal rewards 50. It can net you almost 40k worth of karma with booster and if you converted all the tokens. Not only that, you have a chance at fractal skins or ascended box.
So in reality it is more of what “other” things you want besides karma/obsidian shard.
I cant’ believe running around pressing f on chest is the most interesting and fun way to play the game.
I think I’m getting too old for mmorpg.
Yeah, OP asked for the best and fastest way to “farm” obi shards. The SW chest farm is the best and fastest way to get them. No one said anything about it being the most interesting and fun way to play.
I never even know SW farm is good for “karma”(obsidian shard). I always thought if you can already trade in crest for obsidian shard. Why bother to farm chest for obisidian shard.
I’ll take some time to farm chest some other time to test it.
I cant’ believe running around pressing f on chest is the most interesting and fun way to play the game.
I think I’m getting too old for mmorpg.
If you are farming obsidian shard, why don’t you just convert the bandit crest to obsidian shard. Obviously you’ll miss out on champ bag.
Teq and fractal is a good source of obisidan shard too(karma). the token can be converted to obsidian shard too. If you have a karmic booster you can pop it at the last boss. Or better yet, just have a dedicated toon to do last fractal who have a karmic booster.
ranger. many world boss dont’ even hit at 1500 range.
My observation is down scaling occurred immediately.
But the boss might have base HP. So if too many people died, it become inefficient at some point.
I think it’s more like 3-5 seconds before downscaling occurs.
But, there also seems to be a problem. If 5 people start a boss, they can usually frequently defeat it. But, if 25 people start on a boss, and 20 of them die and WP out, the remaining 5 will be obliterated in short order. So, I don’t think the downscaling follows the same scale and/or timing that upscaling the same boss instance did.
I was doing a world events in an coordinates group. About 20 people died, and was told to teleport out. And the fight actually become faster.
Weather or not dead people on the ground contribute to scaling I dont’ know. But it seemed to me if people way point the boss will scale down.
That’s only my basic observation, can’t say it’s tested extensively. Only way to know for sure is do test on it.

Everyone values money differently. That is especially true if it is virtual money.
That is the whole reason why there is such a huge gap between buy order and sell order. If it is real money, the gap will be much closer.
unless you are telling me you GvG 10 hours a day. I dont’ think 1 gold once every now and then matters that much.
and if you guys are that serious, I can’t imagine how much you guys spend on candy corn.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
nomad gear, Im’ not even joking. Take a look at the solo video and see how much hp the boss have. Which isn’t a lot.
And in pug you’ll spend all day trying to lure mai into the lightning and no one is stacking.
Wear nomad gear and when mai is in the lightning pop a wall or reflection so mai wont’ teleport to other place.
having nomad gear also mean you can stay in red circle and rez your dying teamtes.
Do they work in silverwaste?
No? this has nothing to do with my question lol
I’m talking about the nightmare court potion. You said it is useless but dont’ it work on modrems army? and an expansion is coming up.
I honestly dont’ know the answer, but I have a post from last year, you might want to use as reference.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/power-potion-of-slaying-scarlet-armies
I didn’t test it myself, but someone from reddit says it works on vines and spider. Gw2dungeon.net also suggested scarlet or nightmare court potion. So both probably works.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
Do they work in silverwaste?
Come on man, this is keeping the price of 20 slot bags down…
Be quiet!
But think of the flippers who are trying to sell their 10000 stacks of candy corn…
At next hallowean, Anet just going to release more items that use candy corn. So Anet dont’ need to worry about next hallowean. If you going to sell, just hold it during the first day of hallowean and dump on the first day. It’s like it every hallowean.

Just so you know it take 2 hours to finish 60 skill challenge.
I don’t know why anyone would be unhappy about the new system.
If it’s so easy to level through pve maps, people wont’ be doing eotm, or switching in dungeons.
so how do people finish their skill and traits if they already did the skill challenge?
Make your own groups.
well, people always say if you don’t like pug, run with your guild.
I think it start being a problem when even casual guild runs dont’ even allow necro in a group.
It’s same thing as iron during lion’s arch invasion. If it spike, it just mean people’ll be making like 30 gold per hour mining. So it’ll last a couple days.
And it probably wont’ even spike because platinum is time gated. And probably not even used to level jewel crafting.
I can already make 10 gold per hour just mining rich platinum ore. Everyone will be mining them if it go up that high.
Gold and silver is probably the better investment. But beware of the crash. I bought silver at like 30 copper. and it crashed more.
A few month ago gold ore price spiked because people speculate on jewel crafting, if you bought it at that time, you probably lost a bunch of money.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
People been saying this forever.
I think the OP make the same type of post before. I’m not sure how many times.
He’s some what right. The problem is when Anet going to release it.
But remember there is a cap for mineral price. Platinum at most will spike a while. If it goes up any higher, everyone will be mining them, since it’s already really profitable(10 gold/hour) at the current price.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
Please Anet, I’m in a very casual laid back guild.
And this thing have been going on for a while. People simply dont’ accept necro in a guild dungeon group.
And people are not even doing hardcore speed run. Just laid back casual runs.
Will necro be buffed so it’ll be accepted in groups?
well can you solo the boss? else you’ll probably end up soloing the boss in fotm50 often if it’s fixed.
personally i dont like that pug runs expect glitch abuse. same goes for with mossman. its not that i can or cant solo it, its that people need to stop using glitch abuse as a crutch for their inability to stay alive during cannons.
I quit fractal 1 month after it is out. Doing pug everyday is just horrific.
Fast track 2 years, every pug become better, me personally I get better the more I do it, and pug stop bothering me.
I can tell you, I never die at Mai Trin. But what you want me to do when my teamates die. Why do you even care if your teammate die and is self rez himself.
well can you solo the boss? else you’ll probably end up soloing the boss in fotm50 often if it’s fixed.
that being said, it’s really easy to solo in cleric or nomad gear. You dont’ even need to be good.
Pretty much all games you buy have expansions you buy separately. If you buy WoW for example, you have to buy each expansion to get the full game.
Not at all. Lots of older games that have a multitude of expansions start including previous expansions with the base product. I believe everything up to Mists of Pandaria is included with the base World of Warcraft game at the moment, so to get into the new content all you have to do is buy the base game and the current expansion. EQ did that as well after a while since they have like 20 expansions at this point.
well if you wait 10 years. and 5 more expansion from Anet, I’m sure Anet will do the same thing.
Just like you can play GW2 for 10$ after 3 years when it is on sale.
OP, why are you even comparing yourself to pug. You guys are a coordinate group who run dungeon often together everyday. Of course you guys are better.
I’m a strictly pug person. Often I meet people who never even run the dungeon before. Very often some inexperienced died while they are skipping mobs. And the group are forced to wait for them.
I ran a cof pug, and we spend 5 minutes running the boulderzer, even though I run it successfully every time. So in the end I’m forced to switch to a necro/mesmer to continue.
If you are a well coordinate group of people and want to prove a point to “other speed run groups” mobility matters. That’s fine with me. But please stop comparing yourself to pug, since that’s a bit disheartening.
It is still faster than most 5man berserker only pugs because of the strategies used.
So is this post just to tell pug players you are much better player?
This is sincerely what I get from you.
If they dont add better rewards there is no longevity. Personally I will run the content for a few weeks but after the fun factor wears off the only thing that would keep me going back is better loot. Of course I would do the content once every few weeks but if the loot was better I would run that content at least a couple times a week.
It’s the same for me.
But really why is it called difficult content if you already beat it.
My guess is Anet will just focus on fractal in the future. It’s probably a better way to add in more dungeon content. That way people have to do the new content. Instead of skipping things they dont’ want since they dont’ felt rewarding to learn.
If you are good enough, your runs shouldn’t varied that much even with a few inexperienced players.
And most of the time you just need to state experienced only and that ensure “most” of your player is good, having 1 or 2 slacker, shouldn’t matter that much.
The thing is you guys make it sounds there is anything difficult.
Sure things are difficult the first 10 times you done it. Nothing is difficult after you did the same thing 100 times.
Just because you figured out how to beat a boss doesn’t make that boss magically easier. The boss didn’t change. YOU did. You learned how to beat it, so you became a better player. This is the very definition of relativity. You became relatively better, so for you it became relatively easier.
This is the very reason we are asking for more new challenging content. We finished the old stuff (TT wurm, Fractals, Aether) and now we would like more. There’s nothing wrong with developers creating new content and adding it to an MMO. MMOs have been doing that for decades. It’s not like we are asking them to stop creating other types of content. We would simply like our interests to be addressed in addition to the other segments of this community.
And I should be rewarded more for doing pug. Why should those people who do farm status premade be rewarded more. They are doing easier content than me with 4 other good player.
I’m sorry but this is just nonsense. Rewards are rewards. They should be the same for everyone.
I have no problem with developer making harder content.
I’m just saying players demand better rewards for those harder content. But really why should they be rewarded that much significantly for “farming” the harder content they did 100+ times.
It’s like some guy above me I said Aehterbalde path isn’t so bad if you can do it fast like 20 minutes. And the guy response, “oh I can do it fast too”. So why should the rewards be that good for 20 minutes which he can do easily.
The thing is you guys make it sounds there is anything difficult.
Sure things are difficult the first 10 times you done it. Nothing is difficult after you did the same thing 100 times.
And I should be rewarded more for doing pug. Why should those people who do farm status premade be rewarded more. They are doing easier content than me with 4 other good player.
