ask your guild mates what they want. And let them decide.

I don’t think it should be your decision or the previous leader’s decision.

I don’t understand the negative respond. Some people have impulsive behavior, even though they can clearly not look at the video themselves. They might lack self control.

And even if they have self control, they can’t control their teammate to look at it. And since everyone thinks they are more important than anyone else(aka their teammate). It is best to not post the videos as in it could be the disrupted force which cost the raid group to fall apart.

Imagine in the middle of the raid. Half of your party want to watch strategy videos, while half of the raid want to try it themselves. This could yet be another bingo topic on the forum which have cause a fragment in the community like skipping mobs and the bzerker meta.

They can actaully do the dungeon. Or farm more money else where and buy the dungeon.

A bad pug for arah could take forever for many people. Or they can farm SW or maize blam and make much more money faster. Or even credit card or in game gambling.

not custom to them.

I don’t think that is what dungeon should be because I’m custom to not see dungeon selling in other mmorpg.

Just like I dont’ understand why ranger shouldn’t use bow in dungeon, because every ranger/hunter use bow in other mmorpg.

But after a few years in GW2, I kind of get used to it. That being said, if 5 man dungeon actually require 5 people for it, there might be less dungeon selling. I presume that might be a reason why there isn’t as much dungeon selling in other game.

There are few events coming up though, halloween and wintersday. Not sure if those events will add some cloth supply to the market.

Ascended Gear to be Required for Raids

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

laokoko.7403

Honestly if you couldn’t be bothered to get ascended gear then you have no buisness being in a raid as you clearly aren’t serious about the game.

You aren’t serious about the game unless you spend 6 months gearing up! :^)

At minimum, if you can’t get an ascended weapon and some rings/amulets that take days to get (in total like a week of work, even less if you get lucky with Teq or PvP track chest) you have no business in being in a serious raid team trying to complete the content.

There is nothing stopping you from having fun with your friends in exotics and random runes, just don’t complain when you can’t complete the content.

For the supposed hardest content in the game, this seems pretty obvious.

I don’t think you realize you might need many many gear sets to stay versatile. You might even need to gear up several different toons.

If those minor stats difference make so much difference. So will being versatile having many sets, and have many different toons to switch to depend on situation.

But if you want to say “see every character model in zerg” in wvw or in tequal, you need pretty high end graphic card to do that. I’m not sure if it is even possible. I think the reality is you exclude enough noobs, that’s why you have smooth runs.

If you compare pug meta zerk group, they are usually 2x slower for normal dungeon compare to world record, and 1.5x slower compare to world record in fractal. Those kind of time are doable even in 5 necro group.

For me I dont’ really care about group composition. Because unless I get into a group which can get close to meta time which is almost impossible for pug. I just hope my teamates isn’t a bunch of new players who spend 1 hour in cliffside, since even 5 bowbear can run it in 18 minutes, which is usually the time for meta zerk “PUG”.

18 minutes for cliffside? I don’t know which kind of “zerk” pugs you got but the average metazerk pug i get for 40 or 50 is usually done with all 4 fractals in 30 minutes. Sometimes less if we get lucky and get short fractals like grawl or molten duo.

I’ll never run that fast anyway. Only time I run that fast is with people I know.

If you run that fast good for you. Just for me weather fractal is 30 or 40 or 50 minutes, I really don’t care. I just hope I dont’ get into those 1hour+ runs.

My biggest concern about legendary armor

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: laokoko.7403

laokoko.7403

since there is no way to switch runes and sigils “right now”. The people who have legendaries “right now” obviously care mostly for the skin.

Now if rich people dont’ want to pay for multiple sets. Why should poor people who can’t afford legendary pay for extra sets.

Now if legendary is give the ability to change rune/sigil in the future. Everything changed. People will now also consider the “cost” of not having to get multiple sets so legendary will look more desirable.

I’m seriously consider legendary armor now since from the interview a set of legendary armor cost same as a single weapon. So one piece of armor cost like 400 gold. Which is same for a few set of armor. So the weird thing is I’m considering getting legendary armor because it is as cheap as getting a few set of ascended armor.

I don’t know the answer bro. But speaking of a human nature point of view. Most people just dont’ want to pay for extra set of ascended armor. Which is quite weird, since that is the people who can’t afford legendary need to do.

Reading this post brings tears to my eyes.

You call those people pve players. When in reality is you should call them farmers.

I don’t think you realize how much farmers sacrifice just to reach their rewards. I used to do 10 hours cof farm everyday. And everyday I listen my groupmates whine about how boring it is but they keep going and going. Even if they are tired, they keep going. In the end everyone start complaining they are too tired to play, some of them even says their eyes is hurting. A few times some of them fall asleep while they are farming and we are forced to replace them.

A couple years later. Many of my farm friends have left the game. And it is only me left. You dont’ know how many times I have crawl out of the bed, just so I can kill tequalt to farm karma. Even if I’m so tired, I try to find the strength to walk out of bed, since Tequalt is on a fix schedule.

You don’t know how many “fun” I give up. So I can farm more efficiently. Of course I can do the “fun” things. But the other more boring things give more rewards, so I choose to do repetitive boring things.

I really wish I could say I’m a pve players, or wvw players, or pvp players… But reality is I’m just a farmer. Spending 10 hours throwing maize balm at critters isn’t pve players. Running around picking up chest in SW isn’t pve players… They are farmers.

I just want to say, stop saying it is unfair. Because you dont’ realize the sacrifice farmers give up.

Obviously everyone play for fun. So do farmers. Farmers find getting their rewards so fun, they are willing to sacrifice hundreds if not thousands of hours of having fun. The question is are you willing to make that sacrifice…

This post is truly inspirational.

I feel your pain. I run around boarderland trying to do dailys or farm badge of honors. But out of no where come this roamer who try to gank me. I try to run away showing him I’m not interested, but he keep chasing me half way across the map. Even if I use a quaggan tonic to show I dont’ want to fight, he keep killing me.

I want to tell the community if you see someone run around boarderland, that dont’ necessary mean he is interested in fighting. Especially those in quaggan form. Please leave them alone. If you see people taking a camp, that most likely he is just doing dailys. At least wait for him to take the objective before trying to kill him.

Obviously everyone will continue ganking the OP just like they continuing ganking me… Which make the post kind of funny.

So when anet are considering queue time or people who queue in different size, I also want to point out Anet might loss potential pvp players because they are forced to queue with premades.

Weather solo queue is a good idea or not. Anet probably knows better than most of us since they have all the data. But it seems most solo queue players dont’ want to fight premades. And premades dont’ want to fight solo players anyway.

For multi guild to work. I believe Anet should give people the ability to see guild chat in every guild they are in. Not only the one they are representing. That could fix a lot of the issue.

I was in an active guild. Maybe 50 people online at the same time. When officer stop enforcing the representing rule, the amount of activity in the guild decrease. The main problem is people not representing can’t even see the guild chat. So they can’t interact with guilds they are not representing.

If Anet gives people the ability to talk and see guild chat for every guild they are in. I believe more guild leader will open up and stop enforcing the 100% rep rule so rigidly.

i dont think you run a large guild before.

No, but I am a member of a 300-400 member guild with nearly no rep required even when playing together and we all get on ts and coordinate just fine. Plenty rep and donate to keep things running including myself. So I know it can work. Apparently 100% rep works for your guild and whatever you enjoy doing is cool. It just wouldn’t work for me.

That is totally false. It worked “for you”. You like the way how it is “for you”.

Some people dont’ think it work “for them”. Not everyone likes the same thing.

Your guild may have like 20-30 people you can play with. And maybe 10 people online at off time.

I like to be in a guild with 50 people online at all time. Even 3am eastern time. Your guild won’t “work for me”. If a guild is a no rep guild. It is almost impossible for them to have 50 people online 24/7. Unless they are a mega multiguild.

I’m on a Guild that I like very much. We do Guild Missions every week, the leaders are very welcoming and explain most aspects of the game to newbies with patience and care, people is close and fun, there is a very active PvP group that encourages people to participate and learn, and all the normal teasing and rivalry between members is mostly mild and good natured. We also do Quaggan races, guess the song, find the Quaggan, and other silly social activities that are refreshing and hilarious. There is a TS working all day long with people doing diverse types of organized PvE stuff (Not Wurm, but almost everything else). The guild is somewhat large and active (400 ish people, 30-50 connected at a time), and we all speak the same language. In short, it is a really good guild I enjoy to be in.

1- What is exactly representation? What is the reason to need 100%?

Now imagine the guild above is a no rep guild. There may be 30-50 people online at a time but there maybe 15-20 people reping at a time.

You’ll have less people to pvp with in the guild. You’ll have less people to talk on TS or guild chat. You probably wont’ even have enough people to do quaggan race or other social activities.

Also there are active guild which only require you to rep “most of the time”. You can try joining one of those too. While still able to play with your small group of 5 friend when they are online.

For pug, I personally use longbow axe/warhorn. longbow because with signet of might I can pindown when the boss bubble. Warhorn for condition removal. I actually got the build from meta battle. I think meta battle occasionally make build though not meta but is good for less skilled player. Like metabattle used to have turret engineer, or minionmancer in their spvp build list.

CS:Go, Mobas, starcraft are the most competitive. I also find it amusing when pvpers in this game think they are good.

GW2 pvp is actually really impressive. After all it is still a mmorpg. For a mmorpg to push their pvp game play this far is impressive.

I think for pve any game play push people to the limit is hardcore. Obviously other game got raiding. Hardcore pve in gw2 is probably either solo dungeon or pushing world record.

But I dont’ think there is anything wrong with being casual. I play this game casually, I don’t see anything wrong with it.

For silverwate, you have to use the LFG. Since almost everyone is trying to get in a map near breach. So if you just relog, Anet will just keep putting you in empty map.

Even the continent of Africa probably have large latency discrepancy. Another guy says he have 200 and you say you have 300.

And one of the mystery to me is do latency even matter. I think someone mentioned that because of hardware limitation(for example mouse click signal to reach computer), fps(refresh rate), the latency difference probably dont’ matter that much.

I play in oceanic so my ping is always 200ms. I never play at 50ms before, so I dont’ know if it actually make a difference. Probably need someone who actually play in different zone before to share their experience if it actually matters.

I asked people before and they said solo queue actually have short queue. It is only group queue people having problem.

I’m kind of confused why everyone is saying different things.

And if queue time is a problem, I’m not sure how we are going to have league system which divide people even more. Unless of course you can have people in different league in the same match. For example have a mix of league 4 and league 5 people in the same match.

Bounty can be done solo, although duo is much easier

thats funny considering that last time when my guild attempted bounty TRAINING with a squad of 3 we failed miserably….

other thing being that it was more than a half year ago……

[where those bosses nerfed or sth?]

I wasn’t always able to make guild mission, so I actually solo bounty time to time for guild commendation.

But I was usually able to pick the easy bounty since I use tier 3 and only need to kill one of the six. But even that, I run out of time often. A cheese way of doing bounty is use bow bear, and try fighting beside the way point so you can keep spawn rushing.

I think there was someone on reddit who says he usually solo bounty training for influence and sell siege that way for money. He said his success rate is around 50%.

If you are really interested in doing bounty with low man, I suggest running during reset time. Since every guild is running that time, so you can leach of other guilds and actually have a high success rate even if you have small amount of people.

Its not about “being so pro that you can do mai trin even solo without condition removal”, its that the biggest liability ever when it comes to mai trin is your teamates not cooperating with you. If your team does not cooperate, you let them die and don’t help them because doing mai trin solo can actually be a lot faster as in like 30000 times faster if the person who understands the fight handles her solo.

And the expectation that a pug can 1 bucket burn dredge boss? Seriously how often does that happen? Maybe 1 in 10 runs? that is too high expectation on a pug.

I’m doing it 9 times out of 10 runs (when we roll the dredge facility obviously) in pugs (meaning i’m alone, with no buddies/guildies/friends in the party). Asking for meta party and gear checking. Works well. I even teach that to whoever want to learn it.

It all comes down to personnal experience, so we could go on this topic for hours, that won’t be usefull

So you going to teach every pug you do? Kind of pointless. Did every pug you do run fractal in 30-40 minutes?

Average pug do it in 40-50 mintues anyway.

Average is 40 minutes, with the worst case being 55/1 hour. Strangely, i got my worst run times with guildies, but mostly because we’re running around like headless chickens doing kitten. And yes, if they’re listening and up to learn something new (for them), i’ll teach them. If it doesn’t work first try, the second always works. It’s not pointless, since it helps improving the global skill level (and it’s good for everyone).

Fractal pretty much become the new cof path 1. Anyone still doing it is usually quite experience.

Many people(guidie) play together for the social experience. They are not actually your experienced fractal player.

Elitism is actually quite annoying. I don’t mind elitist player which is good blaming people. Like someone says “oh why don’t you put your ice bow near me”.

But the elitist player who blame other people for their own death is really annoying. “Oh I die because you didn’t aegis or condition removal for me”. That is one of the most annoying thing I ever heard. You can pretty much do fractal solo or duo. How is your own death have anything to do with other people.

While I agree with you to an extent, examples can include guardian not using aegis when channeling icebow 5 as the imbued shaman unbubbles. No reflects from guard on end of harpy boss, no blinds from engi/thief ect. It’s not necessary but when you invite someone of a certain class into the party you expect them to know their class mechanics, and rely on them to a certain extent, otherwise why have them in the party to begin with, just duo and then sell more slots for gold

Obviously people have problem if they dont’ do what they suppose to do. That I agree.

I’m just saying people can talk **** about meta, they can trait for meta. And they may think they are some freaking elitist who is really just a terrible skilled player, who die to every single attack.

And I understand every class is different. But the combat system in GW2 is designed to be self sufficient, so all class have the capability to do different things, just to a different extend.

Take for example, why are warrior’s even asking guardian for condition removal. If I knew a fight require condition removal, I’ll bring condition removal. It doesn’t matter what class I play. For warrior, I just slap a warhorn, and trait for it.

Who in the right mind fight mai trin without condition removal. Unless that person is actually good and block everything. And if you are a warrior asking a guardian for condition removal “in a pug”. I’ll actually question your common sense.

Well or the guardian could just do his job and use the convinient cleanses that he got for his team like you should in a 5 man party so that the others don’t have to run obscure utilties/traits? Why would you even bring a guardian in the first place if he’s too selfish to use his cooldowns for his teammates?

I obviously do remove condition for my teamates, I already said, I’ll always bring condition removal regardless the class I play.

People also need to understand skills have cooldown. smite only remove 1 condition and have a cooldown of 20 second. purging flame though remove 3 have a cooldown of 28 second. No one use torch anyway. If your teamates is that bad. You are better using focus so you can rez them.

Just yesterday, someone asked why I don’t cast wall of reflection in the first phase of legendary imbued shaman.

If everyone can run dungeon fast just by having meta. They’ll be doing dungeon at meta time. That is very unrealistic for pug anyway.

I guess I better shutup and stop looking like a noob. Either everyone on the forum is so pro, or their pug teamates is always so pro.
