Some one already said the answer. Use the 1 obsidian recipe instead of 10
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Clover
But using the 1 recipe also means you have less chance to be lucky and hit it big.
I try to laugh at other people to make myself fill better. Hope it helps.

I actually bought 9 permanent bank license. At least I bought it before the price spike. There was someone else who bought more than me. His inventory is just ridiculous. All I remember is it have a ridiculous amount of permanent license, and gem store item. I think he deleted his post.

I remember years ago playing guild wars and enjoying every minute playing it,then gw2 comes along and yes just as good as the original.then the rot set in ,the living story was introduced and all we got was jumping puzzles and more jumping puzzles.the game became a massive platformer.then heart of thorns appeared and gone are the days of solo play,if your not in a group then your stuffed no way to do things on your own.then worst of all RAIDS,no ascended gear then you,ve no chance. you can’t even get in the kitten place.many people don’t enjoy crafting of which I,m one so we are penalised and will never get the opportunity to try these events out. make things a little more user friendly would be a good start. and bring back more solo play.
- I have cleared the new PvE zones solo.
- I have done the raid in exotics with ascended trinkets, which come from laurels, which are just handed to you for playing the game.
So either I’m a godly player that can achieve the impossible (nope), or you are just stating your personal opinions and portraying them as facts depicting a false image of the current state of the game.
Hmmmmmmm.
That’s why I find it puzzling when people say the new zones aren’t soloable. You can solo “most” of it.
And quite honestly, the mini game is harder to solo than most of the expansion, and you have to do that solo. And believe me, I can’t solo the mini game, but I can do most of the expansion.
This topic come up a few time. I think the conclusion is prestigious gear don’t necessary look good.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/GW2-s-most-prestigious-outfit
That being said, I would expect a person in full legendary to look good.
I don’t know. They probably never tell you.
So keep waiting.
I find it pretty readable, at least it is short.
I get a fair amount of enjoyment just soloing. For those that need a group, I just don’t do them. I ran to people here and there and complete some of the group content too. I did most of the map completion in HoT just soloing.
I didn’t have much complaint, because my philosophy is if you don’t want to do something, don’t do them.
Anet made a bunch of content I dont’ want to do, so I just dont’ do them.
I argue the economy isn’t balanced, because there now exist two classes of player – one that can store massive quantities of a commodity without even thinking about it – and another that will never be able to do this.
Percent of lottery winners who had spent their entire winnings within 5 years 44 %
I don’t know the numbers. You can search google. They can never save money because they choose to spend it all. You can alternately search for NBA player that go broke in a few years.
Richest 62 people as wealthy as half of world’s population, says Oxfam
Does anyone else remember that KDB thought the first expansion would be out in 2013?
NCSoft probably said something like too. I’m not too sure when they said it.
I don’t think any analyst in KDB even care how GW2 is doing. People are probably taking what they said too seriously.
This is a forecast ie a prediction. Do we really care what they think??? This is not the actual numbers. Secondly is their any mmo outside of FFXIV ( which hit rock bottom before turning it aroun) that is posting better than expected numbers? Even WoW is dropping. The MMO as a genre is not doing well. I think softer sales is the industry norm now.
91 bln won pretty much mean GW2 is selling as much as WoW. I’m not sure if they are high or they have that much faith in Anet.
And 51 bln won is really high. I can’t think of any mmorpg made in the US that sold that many expansion as a 3rd year game.
Maybe that’s why even wow is stopping releasing player number. People actually thought those numbers are bad.
Right. So how does your ISP have anything to do with this topic?
What he did is called an analogy. The ISP does not have to do anything with this topic, nor is it supposed to have. A lot of people seem to have extreme difficulties grasping what an analogy is and just do not understand such posts. I assure you, his post was well thought out and is absolutely plausible. You just fail to understand.
The analogies in this post try to give people the idea since “A” is general accepted, people should accept “B” too.
But people forget just because A & B are similar to an extend. They also share differences. And “B” may not be general accepted just because “A” is.
Pre-F2P EQ2 had released a F2P beta~ish server, Freeport. I spent money on unlocking classes and races. After F2P took off, the restrictions lifted and all classes and races, except the newest elite ones, became available. I asked for a refund but had this explained: If you start playing a game at the beginning and buy every expansion that is launched you would not get a refund simply because someone years later bought the latest edition that included all of the previous expansions for less than what you’ve paid over the years.
I actually expect that to happen, because that’s how founders work.
People been making many analogies but they forgot the main difference. Some of it are what people expected, some not necessary.
I don’t know how the topic are even related. Just because people expect latest expansions to be bundled at cheaper price, don’t mean people expect they should pay to beta test.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
Going slightly off tangent and following up on the “used printer” example. I used an ISP which charged $70 / month for 50 gigs. 2 years later, they made major technical upgrades and lowered their monthly fee to $50 / month for 100 gigs in a campaign to attract more customers. I called them up and requested the package (& price) all new customers are receiving (which they obliged), as I believed I was entitled to. However, what I’m NOT entitled to was a refund of the difference for the 2 years I was paying a higher price for, which I didn’t even bother asking for. It’s not like the ISP company anticipated to lower the monthly cost years later while setting the original price years prior. I believe this bears some similarities to this situation with the excess Royal Terrace Passes / Salvage-O-Matics.
Right. So how does your ISP have anything to do with this topic?
People are trying to make totally unrelated topic related. Even if your ISP bear some similarities to this situation, it is definitely not the same.
And only 1 person in this post makes a good example. If you read it, it is a few post above related to EQ2.
And the point is not the refund. The point is people are making Anet sound very innocent. You do realize if I’m a NCSoft stock holder, I’ll probably want to throw egg at the CEO. I’m just saying people are overly biased trying to say people or company are good or bad.

Please…..
- People complaining that they bought 4-5 salvage kit and such things in the past. Why would you get a refund or something? You chosed to do so. The game is evolving, live with it. It is your own mistake, if you didn’t want to move those items from character to character.
Respect yourself please, complaining is good, but being immature is an other thing
It is a “mistake” for people to buy multiple gem store item.
Ok I get it now. Thanks for telling people they are stupid to have bought it in the first place.
They aren’t saying you made a mistake or you are stupid. At the time, the only option was to buy multiple copies or transfer to your bank between uses or not buy it at all. Either the tech or the resources or the idea weren’t there for shared slots so, despite that, you and others made the decision to buy multiples.
That’s not a bad thing. Hopefully you got plenty of use out of them and the convenience/time saved by not having to constantly deposit them to your bank to withdraw them on other characters. Some math people have done show that you could save multiple hours of playtime by having multiple copies.
Now it’s different though, but now is not then. Neither you nor Anet knew about these shared slots until recently. If you had bought multiple copies after Anet planned/announced the introduction of these slots then I am 100% with you for refunds (like what they did for HoT). If you bought them prior to this though, you accepted the deal they had at the time. Coupons, deals, offers, rebates; none of these are required to be retroactive. To expect them to be retroactive is unreasonable and sometimes impossible.
I don’t think you can talk on other people’s behalf.
But I think you must be a happy person, because you think everyone is so nice and no one is evil.
I’m not talking on their behalf. You put words in their mouth and I corrected you. You are once again building a Strawman, except now it’s against me.
Would you kindly not distort my views? Thanks.
Even if I don’t talk about Anet, the guy before me clearly says people made mistake buying those item.
I’m mostly not even talking about refund. I’m just saying the way Anet do business is a bit shady. In fact almost all cash shop games are a bit shady.
Does it ever occur to you everything might just be a business decision? I’m not sure if I get the wrong impression, you seemed to think Anet is very innocent in this situation.
Please…..

@ laokoko
Because this is how people are thinking:
What if I buy these account slots today and 1-2 years down the line, Anet implement something else that screws me over?
When you buy QoL item from gem store, you didn’t bought it for item. You bought it for QoL. As you keep using it you enjoy more QoL than people that didn’t. After some time you should not be able to refund that item as you had already enjoyed it’s benefits. Even 1 month is enough for some items. But people here are talking about the items they had for a long time.
You see, too many people are asking for refund without basis and they are making it hard for people who have the right for refund as they flood the support.
You don’t have to look at it just like hardware. Lets say you paid for gym for next month. And you have been going there every day until 25th. Then you notice there is another, better gym near by. Can you ask for a refund?
I know you like to make analogy of other things which isn’t even relative to the topic.
Do you blame other people if you find a better gym?
I’m sure people blame Anet in this situation.
A better analogy is if a gym sell life time membership. And it shutdown it’s gym tomorrow and tell people to * it. In fact, the gym probably keep selling the lifetime coupon knowing they going to go bankrupt soon.
And no. Anet can do whatever they want. Some people just really really hate Anet for what they are doing.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
These shared slots are expensive and definitely are a slap in the face. Let’s call a spade a spade.
If that is a slap in the face how would you call adding a NPC that duplicates your tool for free (making it acc bound)? – Apocalypse?
Happened in some other games.
@LadyRhonwyn.2501
WoW, what a scam! I feel you! Same thing with my sound card. Some time back from now, I bought a new motherboard and it had better integrated sound card than PCI one I already had. But they didn’t want to refund me my just 3 years old sound card! kittens! We should not buy new PC components newer again! /sarcasam off
You people keep talking 3 years. People could bought a permanent license 1 day before the patch and Anet wont’ refund it. And Anet probably only refund other gem store item if it is only 1 month old.
Do you guys expect your hardware to get outdated? I’m sure you do.
How many people really see it coming on the shared bag? A few maybe. Most didn’t, that’s why they bought it.
You don’t make money crafting.
You make money flipping.
And leveling crafting helps since crafting is basically advanced flipping.
The things I don’t use usually I just keep it on other character.
I personally find the bank tab sufficient.
There is no way of even knowing the answer. People left everyday, the question is are there new people entering.
If your guild isn’t active, it is probably more of your guild leader’s problem, not the game’s problem.
The only place, you can probably find the truth is wvw, since there is only 1 map. I think the wvw population is at least down.
The other place you can find the truth is the financial report every 3 month. GW2 seems to be stable this few years, either because population is stable, or Anet been more aggressive in their cash shop so the sales stay stable.
If you can find ways to grind money and exp at the same time, do that.
Usually best to achieve multiple things at the same time.
For example, for Tyria mastery, I would just do teq daily, since I do that anyway.
I cant follow the logic in thread, if there is any.
They are refusing to refund players for needless extras after the Account Bound slots were allowed to be purchased.
So they should remove the Accound Bound tags, and allow the extra Harvesting Tools and Salvage kits to be sold to other players on the Trading Post. So they can sell them for in game gold to others and let allows buy them cheaper.
I don’t get the logic. You are saying if you didn’t get a refund, you want to sell your account bound tools. You don’t explain WHY this should happen.
Because the extras are now useless. They serve no purpose other than to be deleted at this point. Why not let us sell them to other players or give them away to others if we cannot receive a refund?
No they aren’t useless … they still do their intended function. They still work as infinite harvesting tools. The reasoning you provide that other players get use from them makes no sense. If other players want to get use from a similar tool, they also have the ability to buy it from the GS.
They are not useless. But the extra one “in his opinion” is useless.
I have a few permanent license, the extra one are useless since it is pointless to have extra.
People’s argument is “you get to use it for a while already”. My problem with that is if people knew Anet is going to do it in the first place, most people wouldn’t buy it.
My suggestion is let people trade in those extra gem store item for “something”.
Many of those are actually faithful customer that pay Anet money. And some bought many duplicate for their alts. I don’t understand why Anet would screw people like that.
Edit: I see you said Bank Licenses, not tabs. my apologies. My point just above still stands; don’t use the account-bound slots for the bank licenses. You have the capability now to access your bank from any character AND have 5 account-bound slots. They don’t even sell the bank access stuff anymore and I’d like to have even one.
I have 60 character. Make more sense if I use 1 of the 5 slot for a permanent bank license.
As much as I like how convenient it was before. I wouldn’t bought 9 of if I knew they going to do something like this. I would just go to the bank more and pick up license and deposit the license when I want to switch character.
Let’s say you’ve had three copper-o-matics for two years. That means you got two years of convenience out of those items. So it wasn’t a waste at all; it just wasn’t as useful to you for as long as you hoped it would be. But you still got use and value out of it.
I don’t know bro. If Anet would told people in the beginning, most of people probably won’t bought it.
So I’m not sure if people get their “worth”.
I bought 9 permanent bank license, and multiple vendor/tp too. If Anet told me in the beginning I wouldn’t.
So can I use your time machine? B/c it would really help me if I could jump ahead and see what business and product decisions my bosses are making two years from now.
Really, you expected them to say “Here’s this new copper-fed-salvage-tool! Btw account slots coming in 2+ years maybe.” How would they even have known? Maybe the big bosses said NO to account slots back then. Maybe (pretty likely) the tech didn’t exist in the game to implement them properly.
Anyone might have predicted that account slots were coming eventually. But expecting a statement like that years before actual implementation is just bonkers. In what fluid, non-linear time do you live?
This is a weird rehash of the veteran player anger over HoT being released. I could understand being angry if you just bought multiple copper-feds or gathering tools, but if players have had these for a year or more and are complaining now it just seems so out of touch.
Also, their 9 bank tabs do not go to waste. Being able to store as many items as they can has definitive value. Pretending to undervalue what they have does not make their argument stronger.
How do they have value now. I can just use 1 and the other 8 have no use.
1 of it have value, the other 8 is totally useless
And I can know how poster are totally hyperbole when he keep mentioning 2 years. Anet could have some kind of refund policy, but no, they just don’t give a *.
And someone already mentioned how Anet should have resolved the issue. Check Vayne’s post on page 14.
If Anet is so unhappy about refund gem. Give people something else instead.

hundreds of millions- very few even breaking the 100 million mark. Most of those also include marketing and distribution costs. Technology is getting cheaper- what you buy now may not be close to what that thing in 5 years. ironic though the development cost vary wildy yet the release price is always $59.99
we care only about gw2 though- find that development info
It’s probably not high. That’s why they don’t tell you.
But most likely higher than gw1. Which you think is such a better game than gw2.
Let me just ask a question. Do you honestly think Anet spent less money on gw2 than gw1?
I have 9 permanent bank license. 8 of them become useless now.
8 * 3000 = 24000 gold. I want those money reimbursed. Thank you.
I think pricing is the key point here. Been reading some posts that mention if it was a little less, they would have been fine with it. I just think the person who was to determine the price of the item just had their head up their kitten . Noxious gas effects the brain and all.
I, too, see the use of this item, but I wouldn’t buy it. For a 1 slot account-wide convenient item, I would have loved to see the feedback and reaction if this item were initially priced at 300, 400, or even 500. One can only speculate now. x)
well, the customer always want cheaper item. I’m not sure what to say here.
I can’t believe I bought 9 permanent bank license.
Thanks Anet!
Anet is company and as a company they are suppose to squeeze as much money out of customers for least about of effort. If they could sell each player a paper clip for $20 with out the risk of a negative view – they would in a heart beat not even thinking twice. thats just business works.
I not really sure where your getting this “accurate” information from ( love to see that ) but if this is what they produced after throwing “tones of money” …yikes. Throwing money at a game doesn’t make it the best thing ever just like graphics do not make a game ( which seems to be the common idea these days).
seems like it should be quality of released content over quantity of gem store releases – clearly you guys are in such enjoyment that your wasting your time playing the game rather than trying argue over someone elses view.
http://kotaku.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-make-a-big-video-game-1501413649
It’s the reality of the business. Take a look at newer games. Do they really have more “context”?
No. Companies are throwing tones and tones of money for reduced content.
As technology evolved, it actually become more and more expensive to create games.
I also think people complaint too much about normal dungeon “mob skipping, stacking etc”. So Anet instead trying to change it, just say screw it.
At least there are less people complaining about it now.
I think too many people are being rich by doing dungeons, and Anet is thinking “oh no, if those people have money they wont’ buy gems”.
eotn
18 dungeons – yes you can say it was hard finding groups because of the heros….. but we’ll be real for a second if heros were in gw2 you wouldn’t be picked up here either. pug groups = gw2 hell15 map areas
unqiue armors
weapons
$19.99hot
0 dungeons
3 new weapon skins
a new armor….thats the same raincoat as the other raincoats with added blue stuff
4 maps
$49.99
as well as you get skills that completely break all other parts of the game.does that satisfy your needs? By all means do pm me, why else would I ask to hear your point. Don’t side step when you get called out mate.
So do you think Anet is purposely try to screw you?
Anet spent tones more money on GW2, more staff, and you complain it is not as good as GW1.
If you retract history, people were making mmorpg with 3 million budget. Now studios are spending hundreds of millions yet people complain they are not as good as older mmorpg.
If they make GW3, they’ll have to move most of their employees to GW3 teams. And have a few years of low profits until GW3 is out.
Dont’ make much logical sense, since GW2 is doing fairly well.
Why on earth would they have “few years of low profits” because they start developing GW3? For PvE they can just keep it on life support (SAB would keep us content for like half a year), in WvW they just have to let it die and in sPvP they only need to do constant rebalancing breaking the game every two months and a half a dozen PvP seasons a year and another dozen contest that they put ads about all over the game.
That said, I do doubt they will really consider GW3 until the income reach a critical low. Something pretty dramatical has to happen for GW2 to be abandoned by the community. Even if WvW is mercy killed by Anet, the PvE farmers will no doubt keep the gemstore running.
When they decided to make GW2, they have a small team of 4 on GW1. If they move all their staff to GW3. I’m not sure the player base will stick with GW2.
But I think the more crucially is even if they make GW3, it won’t necessary mean more money.
And it is usually a bad idea to start developing an mmorpg unless you are all in. Because technology and market keep evolving. If you decide to make an mmorpg, it best be out in a few years.
If they make GW3, they’ll have to move most of their employees to GW3 teams. And have a few years of low profits until GW3 is out.
Dont’ make much logical sense, since GW2 is doing fairly well.
Not likely. The genre really haven’t advance. We are probably seeing the limit of mmorpg, unless some big change comes.
Also with the amount of money GW2 makes, they are more likely to keep going. When GW2 starts to slow down, they might think about it.
I hope you are a vegetarian. Else what you did in real life is even more cruel.
Viewpoint: Guild hall decorating is gameplay
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: laokoko.7403
Anet probably hope you will buy gem to decorate your guild hall.
Or your whole guild will go broke, so they need to use credit card when they want to buy gem store item.
On the plus side, guild hall is pretty useless, just like legendary.
I’m not sure how much you play but when I asked people this question, most of them didn’t get precursor from drop. Those are people who average 30-40 hours a week minimum.
I think most of the precursor probably come from the forge.
It’s probably balanced, since no one come up on the forum when they win 10-11 match straight.
It’s kind of like the stock market. When people are making money, they think they deserve it. When people are losing money, they complain.
Anet is probably making pointless time sink to give people something to do.
So not likely Anet will change it, since many people already farm home instance anyway.
30 deldrimor
30 spirit woodYou can craft the first level of the The Hunter, OR, you can sell the mats and buy the entire precursor, plus have gold leftover. Hmmmn, tough decision…
And the only ‘example’ you gave was things to do with nerfing. Which is not an example at all.
I think you are overly sensitive. If you reread everything, no one is even disagreeing with you.
The only thing Ayrilana said is Anet base precursor cost on weapon type. Not demand from player.
Also, just because someone isn’t bashing Anet, don’t mean that person is siding with Anet.
And you probably severely underestimate how rich people can be by playing all day, making spreadsheet, and follow virtual economy. A few hundred gold really isn’t much to that kind of person.
Anet is just doing what every mmorpg will do. Banning not only bots but all their related accounts.
Also, there are actual money transaction between her brother’s account, it’ll be hard to plead her case.
Other game company would just automatically close all accounts if they share IP or mac address or credit card.
Customer Support has carefully reviewed the data that resulted in the termination of the game account in question. They verified that this account accessed 29 map points in under 60 seconds. It is not possible to accomplish this without the use of a third-party program, the kind of program that is expressly forbidden by our User Agreement and our Rules of Conduct.
Because of these facts, the account termination will not be reversed.
You are speaking of “this account” while the fact of the matter is you banned 2 people’s accounts here, care to clear that up? Did both cheat or was 1 just found guilty by living in the same house?
What if I tell you I botted on 1 account I don’t care, and sent the money to my main account.
Should my main account get banned?
I’m not saying Suck at Love deserved to be banned, I’m saying it is common practice to ban people sharing ip/mac address/credit card with botters. That’s what every mmorpg company is doing.
I wanted to say just few things not about ban but about how we as community went into this. First reddit post with stupid , shameful redditors, who laughed and mocked this two people.
Then GW2 official forums, thriving on this ban.
Is this what GW2 community is now ? Is it best joy for you to see someone sad and upset ?
Sure they made mistake, but is community best response to laugh at that and mock ?While you are all so happy someone got ban ill leave you this example , how many of you did and do now EXPLOIT fractals mossman to get easy pass ? How many of you were asked in pug group to do mossman exploiting this , and agreed , or got kicked from party if you said “lets do it normal” ? Skipping events Arah for months, remember ? Map breaking for easy JP ? And so on…. Is it really that different ?
And again, as much as it was wrong what they did, i feel that community response on that was far worse.
my 2c
It’s human natural. First of all, players envy those cheaters to get things they want. Furthermore those cheaters get it by using unmoral and unlawful means.
Your analogy is probably a bit bad though. Since no one expect to get banned by killing mossman underwater, but people who go to hacks website download 3rd party programmer, botting should know what they did is likely to get banned but still doing it.
The precursor for The Predator costs a zillion times more to craft. No idea what Anet were thinking.
That’s because they didn’t based crafting costs on demand for precursors. Since only two classes can equipment it, with it not part of either’s meta builds, the precursor is cheaper than others on the TP. Anet based crafting costs into buckets with the rifle being lumped with other two handed weapons. This results in it being more expensive to craft. If they were to add more elite specializations that used rifle, the cost on the TP would rise and crafting may or may not become a better option.
I can tell you have not even looked at what it costs to craft.
Or more likely you have no idea what I had said. It’s definitely not a “zillion” times more to craft.
It seems hyperbole is beyond you. And you do not have to defend everything Anet does. They DO make mistakes, you know…
No one is going to craft The Hunter.
I don’t know the answer to that. But I think you are exaggerating there is a problem when there isn’t a problem.
A lot of things in life and video game is pointless, it’s just the way things are. It’s kind of like how players are complaining why silk cost 8 copper before. Now people are complaining it is too expansive.
Your point is good though since if crafting is actually “at least slightly cheaper”, people will bother to craft it. (meaning play the content developer create)
A fellow guild mate of mine also ask Anet to double check if there system is 100% accurate because his been accuse of Real money trading but he never sell any in game item for real cash and what shock us is his been in active for almost 1 year and the last time he log in to the game was when HoT are coming out then anet insist that he sold some item with real money which is absurd.
I’ve been accused in other game too.
One of my guild-mate go on a rampage, and start scamming people for their gear. And I somehow end up buying the scammed gear from other people.
My defense is I bought the gear at reasonable price, so I didn’t benefit from it. And have my account restore.
There are probably some suspicious transaction going on with your guild-mates.
Guild Wars 2 didn’t raise the expansion. You can, in fact, still compete without having the expansion. Therefore, Guild Wars 2 is less pay to win than any of the competition.
Again, false. You did not reply to me so maybe ill make it shorter this time. WoW releases expansions that will not punish you directly for not buying it. GW2 does.
So what do you expect Anet to do.
Let people that didn’t buy expansion form their small pvp community, and have really long queue time?
To balance the core classes as they should from the get go before HoT released instead of band-aiding the game with the new specializations, or tone down some of specializations so that the core classes can compete also.
Since you know so much about Wow. Is that how wow do it? Let pvper that dont’ buy expansion to compete with pvper that buy expansion?
