No there is definitely something screwy with the TP I experience it all the time. I would like to see Anet either remove the 15% fee especially the 5% listing fee or at the very least make it refundable because when these games with the TP happen you are stuck leaving your items on the TP forever.
how does that even help?
there actually should be fee for buy listing too to stop bot.
probably engineer. But you need to be actually good.
You can be a pretty bad player and solo it easy as ranger or maybe minion mancer.
Just keep changing your pet when it is almost dead.
There were talk about first expansion 2 years ago, and Anet release the expansion in 3 years.
So the next expansion might take longer than expected.
I was doing similar things in reverse and I thought the opposite person is bot.
I try to sell Spinal Blades Blueprint Scrap (2/4) in mass when there are information on new scarlet box events.
Every time I sell 250, there were another buy listing up. The thing is this is not a common item, so how would anyone monitor the screen 24/7 I don’t know.
That being said, there is no way to be sure. Since I’m doing the opposite thing the OP is doing and thought the other side is bots.
If I’m selling the item to the OP, and the OP might think I’m bot too.
I don’t even know how many wvw players there were. I think the population might be shrinking.
I’m not sure if that is expected or Anet just didn’t do enough good a job.
My past experience for RvR game is it only have a couple year life spam. So it could be it is just time.
I honestly never saw any RvR focus game that can live past a few years.
I payed my hard earned money for (HoT)/(cheeseburger).
I (played it some)(chewed it up), enjoyed some of it, but am not satisfied.
I can’t (raid)(eat pickles), because (my class isn’t meta atm)(I don’t wanna).
So after consuming the product, I have come to the conclusion it wasn’t 100% my favorite thing, so give me refund (Anet)(Burger place).
Seriously, reverse this post.
I demand a refund for my cheeseburger, because Anet apparently give refund for HOT.
Do you know how silly this analogy is?
The two topic isn’t even related.
wow, I can’t believe it is so cheap to craft spark now.
First of all, the price were like 1000 gold before, now you can get it 577 gold.
Second of all, the reason is cheap is probably some people actually craft them to sell.
In all fairness, a 10 page post, where a few people don’t like the expansion don’t mean it flop.
Having complaint is natural. It’s people’s personal opinion.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
In what world? If GW2’s expansion flops a publisher would require some changes before throwing their money at a product that just lost money, ncsoft wouldn’t back off and let’em retain so much freedom.
Again, what happens when a game fails? look at Carbine.
Instead we have Anet hiring people and working on another release without a lot of intervention from the publisher, what does that tell us? the numbers are good enough.
Good enough =/= failed expansion.yes. Changes in the next expansion. Anet is a powerhouse. You seem to be under the illusion that somehow its tiny and haven’t made massive amounts of profit. Think of it this way – around living story season 1 they started hiring to a point that now they’ve kept 300+ employees for 2+ years. Do you really think that they would have NO money to recover from a flop?
As for look at Carbine part, Anet is so desperate to salvage it, that even though it flopped 3 months in, it’s going for over a year now, with massive overhaul for F2P and another massive overhaul incoming for steam release. And this game is not making money. Do you REALLY think that GW2 would just be left to sink when they’re giving so many chances to something that completely flopped?
ok, so by your standard the expansion is bad. this and next financial report would be interesting if there is any sign showing.
5.5m paying every month, not half of your 3m playerbase who are only here now it’s free.
I think you take it too serious. Most of those 5.5m are in china.
I don’t even think wow have that many players(outside of china).
I think you serverly overestimate how many players play wow or gw2.
The retention rate isn’t high in general for mmorpg. I’m not targeting any game. In fact it’s getting worse and worse.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
maybe, but just like precursor crafting might be postponed for a looong time.
or…..
next expansion don’t necessary mean you can visit Hot area.
The next earnings report will be the interesting one, seeing as it better-depicts how players responded to the content after a few months post-release, and if ANet has subsequently lost paying customers as a consequence for content people didn’t enjoy.
But there is no way of telling. It’ll mostly only show gem store sells past last quarter.
In fact it’ll probably be decent just because Anet decide to sell shared inventory slot that I guess most people bought it.
I don’t know but just imagine how many people would stop if there isn’t an expansion.
Remember the forum a few month ago? The forum pretty much was spam with posts asking for new content. At least it isn’t so bad now.
All I can say is Wow have 10 million players when it release it’s expansion, it is down to 5.5 million in 1 year. You just can’t expect players to stay long at this age.
I don’t felt it’s difficult. But the open world zone are more difficult than other mmorpg. So other people do have a point.
I think the problem is there are nothing else in the expansion besides 4 new zones.
Before people can choose to do easy or hard content.
But the expansion is just 4 zones, some find it too difficult, some find it too easy.
in before small guild complain it is too costly to upgrade a guildhall with no use.
There are less people complaining now because we have an expansion. The forum was pretty bad a few month ago.
I wonder how many ghastly sheild OP have. Or maybe he’s trying to buy them all.
Anet has no reason to touch things like skins.
Sure thing. All costumes from gem store are imported from China. And precursors from Dwarven blacksmiths.
Make sense. All iPhone are made in China.
Tyria map is really bad though. Though Hot only have 4 maps. It is at least half decent. And better replayable.
I havn’t play much mmorpg lately, but those Hot maps are just about as good as it get.
Anet is pretty bad with instance dungeon and raid though.
Idk. The amount that is being put out in such a short time span I mean that shield jumped from about 10-20 to 90+ (peak was at 100+ earlier today) in a couple days? That seems more than just a few people offloading for gold. And it’s not just putting them up for sale at 1k gold they’ve been sold to for 500g+. And now I am seeing the Scythe going in the same direction. You don’t think Anet may have decided to resupply them since they didn’t have them out this past Halloween perhaps?
Re-supply who? Or from where?
He think Anet are Santa’s. And start selling things cheeply.
Might be the expansion. Some people come back and realize they became warren buffet
Can I at least know what fight people are talking about. I haven’t play for a while, did anet add some thing.
What is this strategy people are talking about.
It’s the meta build, mostly berserker, but also assassin and a couple of others. The strategy is to expect quicker kills.
My argument is only dealing with large battles or boss battles (PvE). If a glass cannon happens to die, WPing out drops the bosses hit points (at least that’s what people say it does — I’m granting it for argument’s sake, even though I remain to be convinced myself).
I’ve actually seen it happen, but not with a boss battle, and not with WPing. The kid who collects armor for his army right next to the Frozen Maw takes forever to have his event complete while the battle continues. You can turn in dozens and barely move the bar. But, once people start leaving the map after it’s done, he’ll occasionally go from halfway to full with just one piece of armor.
It’s not the same thing, and I’m not sure even the loudest “fully dead WP out” proponent would say it works to that degree. But, to a degree, it has to, because it’s the same root mechanism (scaling).
I’ll tell you what’s wrong with the argument.
I think I remembered some one soloing sw breach boss really really fast.
The problem isn’t with glass cannon dieing. The problem is with bad player. Those bad players are better of not be there, regardless of what gear they are wearing.
It happens when the players in tanky gear die as well. The scaling happens based on number of active participants without regard for what gear the participants are wearing. The bosses do not scale one way for one gear type and another way for another gear type.
Since it happens the same based on all gear types, one gear type wearing set of players are not exploiting the game by waypoint out when they die.
That’s a good argument. But, in theory, the one with more protection should do better at surviving than the glass cannon, in a group.
Still, I’ll give you that point. It’s a good one. (Several others have stated it earlier; I’ve only given it serious thought recently, though, so that’s why I didn’t give credit earlier.)
I don’t even know why there is tank gear in the game. Actually I know it’s for pvp.
I prefer Anet just use a contribution system. People who do most damage get the most rewards. Sounds fair.
If you die or whatever. It’s your lost.
That’s how it used to work, before this recent change.
It’s so easy to get gold, you can hit the boss a few times and get gold.
Which is the problem with tank gear. They arn’t doing damage and is scaling the boss.
This post look like a berzker gear complaint in disguise.
You’re the second person to say that: it’s not in disguise. But, I suspect there are more ways to do it than just berserker gear, hence my use of glass cannon instead.
I don’t know if Anet added any new stuff this past few month.
But glass canon is the prefered way. Most of this boss have timer. Even if you don’t die you aren’t contributing much in tank gear.
The group I do boss fight with always yell when I’m downed. They also always yell if I’m not using max dps gear. Regardless it just mean if I’m bad they yell.
So people using tanking gear is basically just bad player, regardless if they die.
Also, how is the whole “glass cannon” comes into the solution. The OP was about glass cannons being “exploits”, so if a glass cannon dies they can’t respawn, but if a non-glass cannon dies (which is more likely in a lot of cases) they can respawn?
Actually, I would prefer it if nobody could WP out of combat.
I prefer Anet just use a contribution system. People who do most damage get the most rewards. Sounds fair.
If you die or whatever. It’s your lost.
Can I at least know what fight people are talking about. I haven’t play for a while, did anet add some thing.

Lol, I think someone read this thread. I overbid on an item a few times yesterday and the other started just massively overbidding but he doubled it, I outbid. He douubled again so I outbid while getting all these items out of my bank hoping he would double it again…
Instead he took it straight to TEN KITTEN gold!!! Hahaha. The idiot listed 11 of them too and I had more than that. Easiest gold I’ve ever made.
I pictured the tantrum this poor guy must have thrown.
It’s quite weird that item don’t have an instant sell order of 10 gold.
I was mass selling the blueprint 2 for scarlet invasion backpiece. I thought the new events will release it again but it didn’t. I think he bought so many he bought out and rez the price to 1 gold. I’m not sure how long will it take for him to sell the rest.
The change made does not mean they want you to res people and not ressing them and them doing a WP out is an exploit – the change means that the alternative to WP out – ressing them – now rewards those who do it.
Just because two options are possible doesn’t automatically mean one is exploiting.
The change means they are rewarding rezzes. They charge us for WPing, and reward us for rezzing. That clearly means they want us to rez people, or at least lean that way.
I don’t know what change they made. People forget the obvious solution, stop being a bad player. And if you are a bad player, stop thinking any one owns you anything.
But, if 5 people die and WP out, they’ve done enough damage already that the boss dies quickly with the 5 remaining. THAT is the exploit. I’ve seen it happen more than once.
Except it’s still a DPS loss compared to having 10 alive people.
Waypointing on death has nothing to do with glass or not, Waypointing on death happens because rezzing completely dead people is often impractical to impossible.
Unless the OP is talking about raid or skill challenge, world boss scale. Infact many of the fast world boss kill are done with small group.
It is better bad players aren’t there, because they scale the boss but don’t contribute as much.
I don’t know how anyone can be sure someone is botting. Even if someone change order every 5 minuets, he could just be using API.
And I don’t know how anyone can claim bots don’t exist. Even when OP says he found the site with it.
Gw2’s trading post system itself made it susceptible to bots. The only way it won’t have bots is change the system. Just like the only game without aimbot is using tab targeting.
Look at the brightside gw2’s TP is slow. Anet claim it stops bots.

I’m not sure what’s worse, being a leecher in tank gear, or cheesing content.
This post look like a berzker gear complaint in disguise.
Someone talk about it before. He says he and his guild got banned for it.
I would suggest just invest better. You don’t even need to flip 150 items. Some times investing in one item can pay of, just more risky.
If you can think of using external program to alarm you, I’m sure other people can to.
But captcha is an interesting idea.
I think you have to live with it though. Even real life stock have bots that use technology to get ahead of competition using faster transmission speed.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
Hot is just too hard. If you think it is hard now just wait till you try the adventure.
Can you buy favor?
If not, open up guild mission to other players. Many guildless people do it just for the comodation.
Hopefully a net heard your complaint.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
Money solves 99% of the problem in the world.
Just pull out your credit card…
Anyway someone already said it, even in large guild donation usually come from the same few people.
How many people is “so many”? And how does Anet financials effect your gaming experience in GW2? Just asking out of curiosity. There could be an interesting discussion here.
Because financials show where priority lies. A cash shop company just has to look pretty, it doesnt neccesarily have to have depth. While a company that needs successful expansions at least has to put more effort into getting people buy it.
Anet make most of their money from cash shop. Because that’s what all mmorpg company without subscription do.
Either that or it’ll be like GW1 at the end of their cycle with 4 employee on it.
You should go play one of those subscription games which you need to pay 15$ per month and stop complaining.
Or you can just go play one of those low budget mmorpg. Some of them are actually not bad.
You can just stop playing.
Many people, including me play GW2 for it’s value. Other mmorpg have subscription, premium, power creep Pay to win.
If you think GW2 is too expensive, just don’t play.
I don’t think GW2 is a expensive mmorpg. But if you think you can get your value else where in other mmorpg or other type of game, feel free to go play other game.
The price is same as old legendary, I’m not sure why the game suddenly become Grindy. It always was grindy.
Because it cost as much as the most expensive legendaries used to AND you have to spend additional time getting all the other parts.
What other part is that? I thought that is interesting content which you don’t mind.
Why are you even grinding legendary. I thought the idea is just play, and if you have the gold use it, else don’t.
That’s what people told me before GW2 come out, “oh you don’t need to grind more powerful gear.” Why are people grinding cosmetic now.
Actually in not playing anymore, because the goals feel like chores instead of gameplay. Ill prolly jump back in if they add new interesting content, but none of the end gamd items are incentivizing me to play the game.
Anyhow, if thats how they want the game to be i xant stop em, but i think that legendary item design is once again pushing more away than it is retaining
If it makes you feel better, I have 20,000 gold to my account. And the only time I bought a legendary is when I quit the game 2 months ago.

Can’t believe A net spent 0.5% of their sales into esports. Those money are better of making Wildstar, NCsoft’s baseball team, executive’s pocket, or NCSoft’s shareholder dividend.
Can’t believe Tybalt get all the credit when a champion and scholar [what’s their name?] also died, but no one cares.
did you read the posts in this thread? it was a marketing spend and has already reaped profits, i.e they gained more than it cost.
So what would happen if that marketing went towards promoting WvW or more living story instead. Wouldnt it also have a positive effect on the game and make a larger percentage of players happy.
I can’t agree more. And this is the budget that went to living story…
The price is same as old legendary, I’m not sure why the game suddenly become Grindy. It always was grindy.
I don’t think it matters. There will always be only a few game manage to break in the esports market.
The people that want to be professional gamer always pick the top games. If you subdivide the genre there are Moba, fps, RTS, card games. So that means only a few games in each genre can success.
And honestly, which mmorpg actually make the esports list. Maybe people are asking a bit too much.
(edited by laokoko.7403)
I think people are mainly complaining about GW2’s PvP. Not really about budget.
It’s probably like Google vs Yahoo, or Facebook vs Twitter. It’s not really about budget, but one is better than the other on running the company.
I think people are more complaining about the decision making. Which may or may not be better if more money or people is on the job.
But the way I see it is player’s set GW2’s pvp standard really high. I’m not sure if it’s just people’s expectation are too high, or the developer should do better job.
I don’t know if price will go up but I think Anet will balance the price if it go too high.
Not to mention with A net track record, by the time the next 3 legendary come out, people already stop caring about the first 3.
