Krall Peterson – Warrior

There is/was an original King Adelbern foefire cinematic from the human perspective in game. Only after GW 2 was launched that the AC remake was shown from the Charr perspective. I leave it at that.
No there was not. Multiple people in this (and the other thread) have played GW1 since it was released. None of us have ever heard about nor seen the cinematic (or even the situation) you describe. So unless you can actually supply any sort of proof for it I would suggest you stop spreading these lies.
They are most likely not going to mechanically gate anything. It will simply be made so hard so that most solo players won’t be able to do it.
There is nothing (as far as we know) that STOPS you from doing it, other than your own skill.
If they had made it so it required X amount of people to even try it, I would have agreed, but as far as we know there is no such thing happening.
I heard you all the first time. Don’t have to repeat. Otherwise I would just repeat the same following: Nevertheless disregarding my haziness in the details that lead up to the original Foefire cinematic, I did see a cinematic that is original from the human view that came before the AC Foefire cinematic which is a remake after and which is from the view of the Charr, in game.
But it is completely bullkitten. No such cinematic ever existed in game. Stop spreading outright lies, when it is rather clear that you have no sort of proof whatsoever for your claims and multiple others have pointed out that you are wrong.
It will recover, just like how it recovered after the first two tournaments which were also claimed to totally kill WvW permanently.
Boo that is the short one. It doesn’t even have the part when he tells her she is the exception because she only WvW.
Well, she very likely IS an exception.
He does have the numbers after all. And it is rather unlikely that he would claim things like that without actually having the numbers to back it up.
Didn’t they say this expansion lays the foundations and will make future expansions easier to do somewhere? I wonder what that was referring too?
The whole Elite Specialization, Mastery and Guild Hall systems can rather easily be expanded upon in the future.
i agree they worked on it maybe a couple weeks and announced an expansion coming haha
i have prepurchased as well no regrets but lets face it they have no been working on it that long and announced it far too early
So they somehow managed to create a more complex WvW map in less than half the time it took them to create EotM? That does seem rather unlikely actually. Not to mention at the same time completing the Specialization system, Mastery System, new PvP gaming mode and multiple maps.
Wow. This issue still isn’t fixed? This is getting embarrassing lol.
As someone who works as a systems analyst for a living, a broken app feature with no customer work around is normally usually classified as a high-ish priority change. If the implementing the change affects the scope of a project, generally the project board/stakeholders provide special approval to implement the change ASAP.
My recommendation to ANET would be for them to reassess how they’re approaching this bug/change. Either the project/change manager is prioritizing the wrong changes or not enough resources have been assigned to this one.
Or maybe, just maybe, an issue that in no way or form effect the playability of the game will not get high priority when they are preparing for a major release?
Sure if it had been a game-breaking (or even game-effecting) issue I would have agreed with you, but since it is not it really seems illogical for them to take away resources from more important places in order to rush out a fix.
Aye, you need to complete the achievements to unlock most of the trinkets.
No not that one.
That is literally the only quest in the whole game were you directly defend Adelbern.
I only do WvW pretty much. That guy is so freaking out of touch with the player base its sad.
The bolded part is rather important.
Pretty much suggests that you also play the other parts, thus you don’t ONLY play WvW, which is exactly what O’Brien is saying in the video.
Sorry the patch and update that came with it is stored in a hard drive of a computer that broken down and which I had thrown away. And I have no intention of reinstalling GW1 in my current computer and tried to get the relevant patch from Anet to see if it is still available.
Besides Anet is constantly adjusting and changing their old game/story to fit their current plan and outlook to the way forward I found.
*shrugs
Yeah, how convenient.
Or maybe, just maybe, what you claim never actually happened.
I have played GW1 weekly since a few months after release of Prophecies, and there have never been a situation as the one you describe.
The only situation where we even defended Adelbern at all was http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Last_Day_Dawns, and that was against Titans and if he was defeated/killed you failed the quest and had to restart. It also took place many years before the Foefire at a completely different place.
No not the AC remake, the original version at the end of the instance where the PC failed to rescue King Adelbern from the hordes of Char before GW 2.
Edit: That was in-game.
That never happened.
I remember saying something similar when the expansion was announced and certain posters said, “You see! Obviously the developers have been working on it since Day One.”
Something like that.
I don’t see those posters anymore, but they don’t call me Living Story Lover anymore either.
Good times.
Well to be fair they have most likely worked on it for quite a while before the announcement. Otherwise we wouldn’t have as much done as we currently have (such as the whole Specialization system and fully playable maps). Heck we know for a fact that EotM took over a year to make and it is likely that the new WvW map took just as much (if not more, due to all the new thingies being added).
It is unlikely that they have worked on it since day one. But it is rather likely that they have worked on it for 1,5 years at the very least.
^ You are assuming it would work to just turn it back on. That is rather unlikely.
I think that the main issue is that it takes time to fix stuff. Sure people can claim that they should have waited with announcing it then. But then we would have gone all these months without any living story releases and have no idea why, which people would rage even more about.
I would also say that we have seen quite a bit of real progress.
We have gotten the whole specialization system. We have played the new PvP map multiple times. We have had tests of the WvW map. None of those things would have happened without rather major progress.
I think by now I could have written several SQL queries that would have isolated the necessary values in the variables, even if I had to hardcode those values one at a time.
Which would work for a single situation and not really work all that well to be reused if needed for something else in the future.
Doing it with pure SQL-queries is also a rather stupid way to do it, due to it being rather hard to track and test. Using pure SQL-queries to do something like this is not something that would be recommended I would say.
I played WvW. Just like usual.

It is worth pointing out that summer doesn’t end until the end of September, so they still have two months to still release it this summer.
Given that there is sod all to do in game at the moment, even if no work has been done on it since it made its last appearance, what possible harm could it do to open it up for a couple of weeks?
Can’t you at least read the thread before posting?
As have been stating a rather large number of times it simply don’t work due to changes being made to the engine. So they HAVE to work on it in order for it to work at all.
The cap/queue is per side. The amount of players from the enemy servers on the map is completely irrelevant.
“Like Tempest, it looks to be ele but with over charge abilities and more utility without losing anything.”
Except the ability to use that attunement for quite some time after overcharging it you mean?
My response to that is that people should read the rules.
Posting about hacking and/or exploits is not allowed and should be sent via a mail to exploits@arena.net instead. Spreading information about a bug/exploit/hack openly isn’t really the way to go, since that just makes people more aware (and thus more likely) to use it themselves.
I am not saying it is a none-issue. I am saying that it is not as big of an issues as you and others want to imply.
I play WvW more or less daily on a high tier server and I don’t think I have ever encountered a hacker. And yet based on the forums they are running around everywhere at all times.
They are not being ignored.
But they are not going to blindly ban people without investigating. It really is as simple as that.
People are also massively overexaggerating the amounts of hacking going on. It is not even remotely close to as much as people want the forums to believe.
She has also said stuff about giving us new armor sets to earn in the game to balance out the loads of cash shop outfits. Until it happens, I’ll believe it when I see it.
So, when did we get the last armor skin in the gem store as opposed to in-game?
Yeah, I will log in now and protest with all my shouts I have on my Elementalist!
I suppose we are completely ignoring the fact that the Overcharged Attunements that are a thing will lock you out of said attunement for x amount of time? That will very much change how the Elementalists is played, since you can just go around aimlessly changing attunements with that and so on.
People also love to throw around the word promise everywhere. I think people need to actually learn what it means.

The continuation of the living story (as in what happens after the end of Season 2) will come with HoT.
Season 3 (or 4 depending on if you count HoT as a season) will come after HoT is released.
Lets be real though, what they eat in a day is a pittance compared to what you bring in, even under normal circumstances.
Farming though? I’ve picked up 2k+ dragonite in a day easy, and the stupid thing never eats more than 150 for me.
That is not the norm. That is what a very tiny part of the extreme farming playerbase get.
An average player doesn’t even get close to enough items each day to even cover the consumers.
I remember back when people complained like mad about them releasing stuff in the gem store every other week.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mawdrey_II
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Princess
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Star_of_Gratitude
As far as we know there will be no update today.
sorry to burst your bubble but every 2 weeks i have logged on a Tuesday to find new content in the gem store every single Tuesday on the 2nd week, so that is a load of coswallop
That is of course not even remotely the same as them promising to have updates every 2 weeks. It just so happens that most of the time they have done so. They have however never said anything about it.
me too….it has after all been 2 weeks since the last patch and we are promised a none stop 2 week content update from way back when, and they have sorta tried to stick to that XD
They did never, in any way or form, claim that there would always be new releases every other week forever.
They said that during the Living Story, which is currently not active.
This.
If you are going to remove access to something for which people have paid it is a good idea to keep them in the loop to a greater degree than we are seeing here.
If one or two minutes a week spent giving Gaile an update that she can post here negatively impacts development to an appreciable degree then Anet really needs to look into their staffing, management, and processes.
Except that no one have actually paid for HoM access.
We have paid for GW1 access, nothing else. Heck, when I paid for GW1 it didn’t even give access to stuff in GW2.
Yes, they could give updates once a week, but wouldn’t it be completely pointless to just keep saying: “We are working on it, no ETA at this time” week after week?
People actually complain like mad about updates like that, because they are “just writing something because we whine, but they aren’t telling us anything!!”
I hope nothing.
That would probably be for the best. Then they can spend time on other more useful stuff instead of spending time on something that people will just complain about.
Yes, but the personal story is still level locked. It feels disjointed at best.
Actually based on what I have seen people actually prefer the current version. Before the update it was still technically level locked. Sure, you could still do the instances, but most of the time they were simply too hard (due to how levels work in the game). Which could rather easily lead to a situation where you complete a single instance and then wouldn’t be able to complete the next one until you have leveled up a level or two. As opposed to now where you unlock each section together and thus will always be “on-level” when you unlock a story step, with each story step being grouped together within its own arc.
Simply a matter of preferences I suppose. I for one prefer to be able to do a whole arc in a row as opposed to a single instance, grind for level, do another instance and so on.
So.. you are making a post about a patch that was released almost a year ago and which have since seen multiple changes and fixes to the system?
Are you trolling? People obviously want to know these specs so they can sort out gear/builds/theory and have some fun, yet you spam this rubbish in every single thread.
Nope, I am just pointing out that Elite Specialization is just a single part of the Expansion and there is plenty of other stuff that also needs to be talked about.
Just like you only care about Specializations there are others who just care about something else coming. Why should the thing you want be more important than what others want?
But removing the server transfer cost will not do what you want it to do.
It will just make it even MORE steamrolly. Because people will move to the current best server, so that no other server stand a chance and so on. It will just end up with a large bunch of more or less completely empty servers and a few completely full servers with hours of queues every single day.
As for channeling living legends if that was true why isn’t there a legend from the present (or the future) available to channel? Why only dead legends (aside from the uncertain Jalis)
Because they had to choose certain legends? Or should they be able to channel every single legend ever in the whole universe and time of Tyria?
Legends usually end up becoming legends after they had their time in the spotlight after all.
There are historically very few legends that were known as legends during their own time after all.
Because if you didn’t have to pay WvW would be completely destroyed due to people just moving from server to server just to keep winning every week. We had quite some time without transfer fees back at release, and it was not especially nice nor was it good for the gamemode as a whole.
T9 is not the reality of WvW. The reality of WvW could best be seen in the middle tiers, not on the top or on the bottom.
And will people really accept a paragraph that potentially say: “We found an error with the solution so we had to go back to square one again, and currently don’t know when it will get fixed”? I find that highly unlikely.
Reporting stuff before there is something to actually report is usually rather pointless and just creates rage and anger.
It doesn’t make sense because we don’t need to know every single thing that ever happens.
I am sure that Gaile have plenty of other things to take care of other than giving us updates 5 times a day on the same issue.
And we also all know how people here react to delays.
And once again: Elite Specs is not the only thing coming with the expansion.
About a month ago they were “close.” But what is close? What does that mean? Just like in all things there is only so much tether. Close, to me, means under a month. Past a month you weren’t close, you still had a lot to work through, or you were seriously underestimating the effort needed. If they get to two months then close wasn’t even in the ballpark and they need to give us another update to let us know why it’s still taking so long.
Or maybe, just maybe they were close, but something came up in the last round of testing that would have broken stuff even more and thus they couldn’t release it?
Should they post here every single time something changes? Then they will not have time to do anything other than keeping people updated here. Things happen, that is just the nature of programming.
Point still remains that they have communicated quite a bit with us about this issue, and yet people still claim that they are telling us nothing.
Do I need to post a picture of svanir shaman fight before you will admit it’s a problem?
Oh, shaman is indeed rather hard to see. But to be honest he will still be hard to see even if he is 20 feet tall if people keep standing on top of him and spamming skills.
There is of course also the whole option to use the Select Nearest Enemy (or whatever it is called) button which selects the enemy for you, even if you can’t click it directly.
I simply don’t think that making mobs unrealistically big just for the sake of making them more visible is the way to go. A better way would be to either give them a special (optional) icon over their head or lower the amount of flashy effects.
I just want to see a critical word from lordkrall once . Simply every single critique about this game is null and void for him. There are a lot of arbitrary complaints of course, but lordkrall manages to defend every single thing. Always. Ever.
Yeah, people tend to see what they want to see. I have disagreed with stuff ArenaNet have done multiple times, but for some reason people never seem to see that.
Korean NCsoft doesnt want to show Cantha cos Cantha is racist. Irony.
That is not really the thing though.
It is not about racism but rather about Cantha basically mashing together multiple asian cultures and people. Something that is rather sensitive in parts of Asia, due to history and such.
I also have a feeling that being turned to stone can be considered being dead. There is of course also the fact that we don’t know if someone needs to be dead in order to be channeled by the Revenant. Not to mention the fact that we do not know if Jalis is still “alive” down there after these 250 years.
Here is a typical boss fight in gw2. We are not stacked. Just fighting the boss like normal. As you can see, the boss is pretty much a white blob.
http://i.imgur.com/9ONr5vr.jpg?1
All of the bosses I listed above have the same problem. We really need a solution. I think turning off player effects would work.
I don’t know, it seems rather easy to see the boss in that picture.
I was into WoW lore too and when I switched to GW2 I found it was pretty superficial. I like the game because it is better suited for the spare time I have now but I couldn’t ever get into the story and different factions, agendas…. I guess it’s tailored for a different kind of player.
I think the main issue is that the lore in GW2 doesn’t get thrown in your face. You actually have to look for much of it yourself around the world. Just like in the real world.
