Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
They might have decided to stop with them, seeing how much these forums got spammed after every single one of them.
So, a post that holds no kind of discussion value, on a discussion forum, should not be locked?
This is not something new. It have done across all parts of the forums since release.
So, what about those from Australia playing on the NA servers then, since those are the servers they “should” play on? Or South-Africa, Russia, India and so on. All those people are “supposed” to play on the NA servers, and yet the time-difference is quite massive. So night in the US would not be night in some parts of SA and so on.
They ARE punished, seeing as they are less valuable simply due to them happen to live in the “wrong” part of the world.
And no, I don’t think punishing people playing at your decided night would be better than the current system.
No, EU and US does not compete. It is still a problem though, seeing as not all non-european people play on NA servers, and the NA servers have people in more or less every single timezone in the world, which mean that there will ALWAYS be night for some part of the playerbase.
Yes, they can still take stuff, but for some reason you think they should be punished and less valuable simply because they don’t play at the same time as you do. Which is quite silly.
So people from the US or [insert country not in Europe] should be punished for their friends on the EU servers?
What about people that work during the days and can only play at the EU nighttime? Should they not be allowed to play the game the same way as everyone else?
WvW is a 24/7 battlefield, simple as that.
Wrong, forums are the only source of actual player feedback, making it the majority.
Numbers they pull from whoop-de-doo, while useful to some degree, are almost never close to being accurate.
By your logic, people that talk about global warming are a minority, lets ignore them and listen to the oil companies. There is no global warming.
Oh, I had no idea you worked at ArenaNet. Mind answering the question posted in this thread then?
Because clearly you do, since you are fully aware about how they gather their information.
But in order to maintain the same income (unless they increase the price quite a bit), they will need to get at least x new buyers for all those who bought x amount of sets for their characters.
They will also lose out quite a bit on Transmutation Crystals.
Saying they are making too much profit too care is probably not true at all. I have not bought any items BECAUSE it works like this. I have a feeling there are many others like me.
Once the cat was out of the bag with Zenith skins, why would I pay money for a single use item.
The day they implement this is the day I finally purchase some armor.
It is also the day when they have to find other ways (higher prices, more “needed” items in the gem store and so on) to make profits in order to make up for the loss of profit from said change.
I don’t have the screens handy atm, but this is the reddit thread about it, which include a YT-video.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1tmn0f/marjory_kasmeer_rox_and_braham_at_the_dead_end/
Indeed, if this is new (I haven’t been over there for ages, but can’t remember seeing it before) it might very well have something to do with the same thing Majory and Kasmeer got from E (something about a war for all of Tyria at the door-step).
True, but Anet has shown time and time again why this attitude is the way to go. They ignore players and do what THEY want…Even if players dont want it.
They do what they think is best for the game. And you have to keep in mind that they have WAY more information about what is best for the game than anyone on these forums does.
The people using the forums are after all a minority of the actual player-base and it is very likely that they are gathering information from other sources than the forums alone.
Actually yes we do know that. Jormag’s awakening made the far shiverpeaks unlivable causing the norn to move south to their new homeland. Kralkatorrik’s awakening caused the crystal scar near the crystal desert. Primordus’s awakening caused the asura to move out from their homeland underground, and construct a new homeland. The “deep sea dragon” is the only other dragon mentioned in the game. The Jungle dragon is pure speculation. As for the name Mordremoth, the only mention is if you look at your combat log during Subject Alpha’s attacks. Therefore, you cannot derive from the game atm that firstly, a jungle dragon exists, and secondly, his name is Mordremoth.
Not unlivable, just undesirable seeing as the Norn were being attacked and/or corrupted by J and its minions.
Indeed, Kralk, did do quite a bit of damage.
The Asura moved up to the surface BEFORE Primordus awoke, as seen in Eye of the North.
DSD isn’t actually mentioned at all in the game as far as I know.
Only that something drove the Krait/Quaggan/Karka from their homelands. No mentioning, in-game, as to what it was however. Other than the Blue Zone in Infinite Coil Reactor, but then again, said Reactor also have a zone for the Jungle Dragon.
The jungle dragon (most likely named Mordremoth) has been confirmed by ArenaNet themselves in interviews. There is also quite much that points towards the fact that it does already effect the game-world, such as the Husks and other creatures like that, that does seem corrupted.
The fact that we actually see the star in the very same path where they talk about it heralding the awakening of a new dragon does also make it quite clear that at least one more is coming, seeing as all the other dragons are awake.
just try to gather dragonite ore while roaming…
Try to gather dragonite while doing dungeons.
Try to gather dragonite while doing JPs.
Try to gather dragonite while exploring.
Try to gather dragonite while Champ training.
See?
Not all parts of PvE award Dragonite either.
The slow roll out of ascended trinket crafting when they could make it level 500 already is a bummer. Anet is forcing the fractal grind still for their new content even though it’s been a year now almost. Anet knows that fractals will become a desolate wasteland when people can get ascended rings from crafting.
Hm?
I have two full sets of Ascended Rings, and I have only gotten one of those Rings from doing Fractals.
That means that THREE of them have been gotten without doing Fractals, as such, getting Rings without doing Fractals is clearly possible.
And even if you start claiming that you need Fractal materials in order to infuse them that have literally nothing at all to do with WvW, and it does make sense, seeing as you don’t need those special infusion slots until rather high levels, where it is quite likely that you are already quite close to have gathered all the mats needed.
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
I am quite sure that they never actually promised that.
I don’t remember the exact wording but I believe it was something along the lines “we hope to be able to have this out by the end of the year”.
We have however put ourselves in the situation where they don’t communicate much (and seriously, it is Christmas time, most people don’t even work so don’t expect an answer) due to the “community” ripping their head off if something doesn’t work exactly like said “community” thought it would or if something gets delayed.
still way too high for 1 single use.
Still much cheaper than buying 2 +10 agony resist Infusions in order to upgrade them (or to buy a single +11 for that matter)
The problem is that changing WvW every two weeks would most likely hurt it way more than it would help.
If you want to maximize effectiveness then yes, using the strongest runes would be best.
It will most likely be released together with Edge of the Mists, which I am guessing will be released with the Feature Only Patch in the middle of March.
All of the dragons have already awoken. But will we get to fight/battle against them is the question. Guess we will get some more hints on the 21st!
We don’t actually know that.
First of all we don’t even know if we even know about all the dragons.
Secondly we have no idea if Mordremoth is actually awake or if it will happen during the game (personally I think that the whole Scarlet-arc ties into the awaking of M, but we will see).
Destroyer Lodestone I think.
It is slightly visible in the lowest part of the crafting material screen.
Well they ARE free, since you don’t spend any gems on them and get them as a bonus.
A bug is the very definition of something being broken.
WoW is developed by Blizzard, it took YEARS for them to solve issues that were there at release. And as far as I remember there are STILL issues not fixed.
Same with Lord of the Rings Online.
Basically every single game ever released will always have bugs. Making something 100% bug-free is completely impossible.
GW2 have done more then well enough during its first year to ever be considered a flop. And definitely not “one of the biggest”.
They have a massive player base wanting the game in Asia, so I don’t really think next year (or whenever it is released over there) will have much issues when it comes to income.
What DOES happen inside the strange star?
Now you got me curious.
Which require you to either grind like mad, or pay. It does still require a subscription, and it is quite unlikely that the majority of people would gain enough in-game money to pay for another month of subs by just playing the free month coming with the box.
Everquest Next will most likely not be released next year.
They do.
But they require you to use skills.
Being able to block every single attacks either at random or guaranteed because you have a shield is silly.
Money is such a huge issue why not throw on a 10 dollar optional sub fee people can pay for better optimized servers?
Because the vast majorities of issues won’t go away by simply throwing money at them?
Of course they are accounted for, but the majority still seems to be based on actual active accounts, seeing as it can go from Very high, to medium and back over the course of a day. And it is quite unlikely that such high amount of people transferring back and forth during a single day.
The fact that the population of a server can change back and forth during a single day would however suggest that they do mainly count active population (or simply the fact that less people have left than people here want to suggest).
That’s the thing, right now we often don’t even know about stealth-deleted posts.
Doesn’t Anet realize that if we go to an outside forum, they will have no control over what’s said? All the talk that they wish suppressed (and they do a good job of that here) will flow freely.
There is however a major difference there.
When it is posted on these forums, it is ArenaNets responsibility, but when it is not, they don’t need to bother with it if it would break laws or whatever.
If there is no planned expansion for 2014 I doubt this game will be able to stand its ground when all these new mmo’s launch in 2014(Wildstar,Everquest Next, etc) and the new WoW expansion.
I really hope they are planning one but seriously doubt it.
And all of those MMOs require a subscription fee, thus they are not really competitors for GW2 in the long run.
also about cantha.. we will NEVER be going to cantha.. EVER…. because the Asians disapprove.. it is why they had to remove canthans from the game entirely.. including the district in divinities reach dedicated to them.. (hello great collapse)…
because of this.. no matter how much i or anyone else wants it.. we will never see cantha again..
You keep posting stuff like this without ever supplying any proof.
They talked about having to cut the Canthan district from DR due to a situation like this, but they also made it quite clear that things may change (and I also think that the person making said decision is no longer working with the company).
There actually ARE Canthans in GW2. Majory is definitely Canthan for one.
I think that is something we will get with possible Legendary Armor in the future, so they can’t really add it on Ascended.
they did actually
No they didn’t.
What they did say was that they currently have no plans to release an expansion, and if all goes well the Living World will take the place of expansion.
They did however never say that there is no chance for an expansion.
If they did, feel free to post the link.
You must not be reading this thread. People get infracted for following the rules.
Of course they are..
too bad they already said there will be no expansions for gw 2.
They have never said that though.
The main problem with that is however that it is not really a good idea (from Anets point of view) to force returning players to play on another server and the one they used to play on (in case of servers having become full during their absence or their inability to pay a fee).
Hint: The language is called English. Not American. Why should there be a US flag there at all?
Actually I think that the game does use American, rather than (British) English.
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
Just a small correction.
They never actually confirmed anything about Ascended being the last tier.
They only said that there will be no new tier added THIS year.
I for one don’t think they will add more, but lets at least be clear on what they actually said.
Also, on the topic of language discrimination I’d like to know why the game only has the US flag to represent the English language and not half US/Half union flag like in beta
Because there are more countries than just the US and UK that have English as their main language?
That is besides the point. It also offers an 18-slot box and 10 boosters.
The fact is, its a reward that is not offered to everyone that meets the listed requirements for it.
If you buy a car and then half a year later said car also comes with a free stereo-upgrade, would you demand to get said free stereo as well?
Because the game does not officially support languages that uses the cyrillic alphabet?
Our bad there were 1319 skills in the whole game, I have to wonder why the duplicates don’t count since they were similar to taking a trait that that allows you to cast a skill twice within its recharge time.
Those 1319 is including the duplicates, and no, we shouldn’t count those, seeing as they are not unique skills. They are after all identical other than name and campaign, other then that there is literally no difference at all.
Or are you going to claim that all those armors in GW2 that uses the same skin should be counted as unique armors as well? Because for some reason people never seem to do that, but when talking about GW1 it is apparently fully allowed to do the exact same thing.
Flying shoulderpads and clipping armors said “hi” to you…
Oh, you mean just like the clipping issues that existed in GW1 as well?
You don’t remember good armour, being able to max a character in a day, hundreds upon hundreds of skills and heroes?
You sure you’re not confusing GW1 with your WoW character again?
There were some nice looking armor, but there are in GW2 as well, and that is after all up to personal opinion, so not really a valid complain anyway.
You could max a character in a day if you knew how, and it was more or less impossible to do it in Prophecies unless you spend a most of that one day playing in order to level up.
But then again, that can also be done in GW2.
He said 1000s (as in more than 2000 skills), that is a blatant lie, especially since a rather big number of them were duplicate skills so shouldn’t be counted as more than one skill.
Many people in GW1 didn’t really like the heroes back then, simply because it removed the need to play with real players, and thus making it much harder to find groups for certain content.
Oh, and I have never played WoW btw, but nice try.
Someone needs to remove their rose-tinted glasses it seems, because the description you gave of GW1 in your latest post is quite different from what I remembered.
There are quite a few nice armors in GW2, but stuff being nice is very subjective.
Ah of course. But that still means 58166 per day, which is a rather big number nonetheless.
WPX have been available since March 26, that is 270 days from now.
In order to reach rank 3,945 you would need 19705000, that is about 72981 WXP per day.
That would of course be quite possibly with playing high amount of hours per day and always using boosts (WPX boost + Birthday boost), and most likely also trading Laurels for WXP ranks and getting lucky with dropped Liquid WXP ^^
Still, very impressive/sad ^^
I would say it has more to do with the fact that we haven’t really had a situation where adding Zojja would be logical without feeling forced.
Adding her for the sake of adding her is just silly after all.
Heroic chest involve a choice of a set of armor that have been buyable in the Gemstore for over a year, so it is not really an exclusive item, seeing as everyone can buy them whenever they want.
The “one thing’s for sure” was me being pessimistic.
Edge of the Mist is a WvW zone, pffff.. That doesn’t count. I’m talking about a REAL zone. A PvE zone. Not a shallow pvp map. like Malchor’s Leap or Fireheart Rise.
And anet stated they “have no plans to release an expansion” until at least 2015, Implying there won’t be one in 2014. though that dev post was months ago and I can’t find it right now, so no I can’t prove it.
Oh, so just because you don’t like it it somehow doesn’t count?
Isn’t that quite silly?
That would be like saying an expansion didn’t exist just because you didn’t like what was added with it.
EotM IS a new zone, no matter if you like it or not.
They have never mentioned years when talking about expansions. They have only said “no plans to release an expansion”, nowhere did they say anything about 2014 or 2015.
If it is an educated guess why would you say “One thing is for sure”.
That would imply fact, rather than guessing.
New zone is confirmed. We KNOW that Edge of the Mist WILL come next year.
As for expansion they have confirmed nothing at all about having one next year or not.
