Are those official arenanet dev tweets? Didnt seem that way…seemed like a few players getting excited for nothing.
I now cringe when an arenanet dev gets excited for features because it normally means something earthshattering in the game, and not in a good way.
They love to fuel the hype train that eventually never leaves the train station.
No, they are tweets from different websites which are known to get early views and information about coming content.
Specifically TenTonHammer and GuildWars2Hub in this case.
You can’t really blame ArenaNet for what other people are hyping up now, can you?
I am personally hoping for the awakening of Mordremoth, simply due to the fact that it would make sense to connect the whole Scarlet story to that ^^
Well you can’t claim that ArenaNet aren’t good at making people interested at least
The fact that this was tweeted would also suggest that we might have a big blogpost incoming with more information about the first half of this year.
I wouldn’t expect those thing until the feature only release tbh.
Especially since they have stated quite clearly that there won’t be much when it comes to features during the first 4 releases and all the things you listed would be considered features.
Oh, I am not saying she will disappear completely, but I do doubt she will have a big a role as she have had during this season. Especially considering all the hate for her on these forums.
If Zhaitan really is dead…Orr should have sunk back into the ocean floors since the power that rose Orr have dissipated with Zhaitan’s death — and yet, Orr is still above water.
Hm?
There is no reason to assume that it is Zaithans power that holds Orr afloat, only that it rose because of its power.
In what way is it not true though? People always seems to claim that there is so different, but usually they don’t come with actual arguments about it. All I hear is people talking about vertical progression, but that was present in GW1 as well (worse than in GW2 in some cases).
Not explicitly no. But it is definitely part of the “takes everything you love about GW1” line. If you were to survey everyone that played GW1 and asked what they love about it, I -guarantee- “lack of vertical progression” makes the top 3. And I would bet on it being a contender for the #1 spot. It was very much a franchise-defining feature.
Which would suggest that they didn’t survey people that played GW1.
Because anyone that have actually played GW1 (past Factions) is fully aware that there are vertical progression in the game.
Also taking everything you love about GW1 would more or less mean “Making GW1 with better graphics” since there is most likely people that love every single thing in the game.
It is marketing, plain and simple. Anyone that actually thought that they would simply remake GW1 were fooling themselves and clearly didn’t check up on anything said about the game.
I like the trait system, and i would also like minor traits to be customizable. i do realize that it will create balancing problems for ANET to solve, but what could be better than keeping the player base happy. I would also like weapon abilities to be customizable.
Well, seeing as people are already spamming these forums because they don’t like the current balance I am not sure that the player base (or at least the forum-part of it) will be happy with even more things to balance.
That is weird. I am on AG myself and there seems to be loads of people pretty much everywhere.
But keep in mind that it is still in the middle of a workday so people might be working and thus not running around in GW2.
Well, you can’t really blame anyone other than yourself for that. Seeing as anyone that just looked at www.guildwars2.com would be fully aware that GW2 would not be GW1 with open world and jumping.
Being able to select minor traits yourself would be a massive balancing nightmare though.
The trait lines are built around certain traits being “forced” after all.
Infused refers to being able to put an extra agony slot on items.
All Ascended Items come with 1 (or 2 in the case of 2h weapons) Infusion slots.
Rings and Back items can however be infused which give them an extra Agony Infusion slot, which can take the upgradeable agony resist infusions.
Don’t really see a reason for it.
Especially since you can simply stand AFK and get time. Rewarding people for doing nothing is usually never a good idea.
A manifesto is a statement of intentions. Not a promise. Not a set in stone plan. An INTENTION.
If a company finds that their intentions will not pay off it is extremely stupid of them to just follow it for the sake of following it.
Sure they might have gotten a few extra GW1 players to stay, but the GW1 players aren’t close to enough to keep a game of this magnitude alive.
Is “more Scarlet” no longer a valid response?
Personally not really expecting much. Hopes were high pre launch/beta and look where we are now. Not saying the game is terrible but there are some big let downs in various areas.
Well, seeing as Season 1 of the Living Story will be over by then I find it quite unlikely that Scarlet will play as big of a role as she has done during the current season.
You can apply it to one armor, but then you can use Transmutation Stone (pre-80) or Transmutation Crystals (80) to transfer them to a different set when you upgrade.
While the idea itself is nice, it is not really plausible.
In-game gold hold no monetary value after all, and thus nothing donated in-game does actually generate any money that ArenaNet could use for said real-life charity.
Rox’s quiver has to return, at the very least, since it’s the only quiver available to us
Actually, it isn’t.
But yeah, it is likely that it will return sometime in the future, along with most (if not all) of the others.
The finale of Season 1 of the Living Story might be a good bet.
if legendaries / ascended were still equivalent to exo, and just beautiful skins..ok.
that’s not what happened.
Ascended is very much obtainable by an average player without much trouble though.
Whilst Legendaries still require quite a bit of “hardcore” gaming.
But isn’t that the point though?
Legendaries aren’t supposed to be for the “average player” they are supposed to be there for the hardcore players.
January 21st.
As stated here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/living-world-2013-the-year-in-review/
Our first release in the new year will be on January 21 as we begin our countdown to the end of this story arc. We’ll use the longer break to spend extra time to ensure that our final four releases are as polished and exciting as possible.
3 days, during which 2 were not regular workdays.
It takes time, especially during holidays.
3 days is usually a very short time for ANY customer support to kitten and answer a situation.
No, you can’t activate a rush if there already is one going on.
But yes, as Zanshin said, you might be able to do a few of them on your own if you know exactly where to go and are lucky.
Possibly the Trek, if you had a guide in front of you and everything unlocked with short loading times and very good knowledge about all possible maps.
But that one doesn’t give Commendations.
36 salvages is not even close to be enough to make any kind of assumption.
Personally I have salvaged 50ish items the last few days and gotten about 35 ectos.
No one have any real evidence that a change have happened. And people are getting tired of seeing these threads more or less every week.
Not sure if serious. I’ve salvaged… can’t even imagine how many armour pieces since i play the game and my highest was 1.1 and those was freaking good times, but 1.5?
If it’s true, gratz, i bet you’re one of those that get precursor once per week too? :P
Oh, I thought we were playing the whole: “Thrown random number in the air and then use it as a complaint”-game.
None of them. Seeing as the only one (Bounty) that is unlockable at first require way more than one or two people. And the rest of them can’t be unlocked without completing a couple of Bounties for the Merits to unlock the others.
I am going to say 1.5.
What the kitten.
I was thinking about this earlier while going through malchor’s leap for the first time in awhile. I agree, I think a robust change to the entire area would be awesome. Orr should rise again. Zhaitan’s dead, his undead horde’s while magically held in stasis currently by the magic of video games are dead too.
We actually do not know if an Elder Dragons minions suddenly “die” when the ED dies though.
For all we know they will just run around as usual but without the guidance of the Dragon.
And yet again people are completely ignorant to what a manifest actually is.
You also blatantly IGNORE clarifications and other information given BEFORE the game was released, and most of it even before you could buy the game.
It is not ArenaNets fault people swallow marketing without looking stuff up more than a single SEVERAL YEAR OLD “declaration of the intentions”.
But I suppose all you manifesto-lovers would rather have the game shut down within a year due to lack of revenue? Because that is most likely exactly what would have happened had they not changed stuff based on the actual market.
Maybe it’s because you just banned a bunch of innocent players. Maybe that got you guys in the crosshairs.
Ah, you mean all those “innocent” people that got their bans changed within a few hours?
Those same “innocent” people that abused a rather clear bug?
But – pay attention – to face WildStar and Everquest Next, GW2 needs desperately of:
- Factions
- Open PvP everywhere and duels (with option flag: pvp on ou off.
- Police, trial and prisons
- Better and valuable loot everywhere
- More Pve maps (open PvP)
- Housing in WxWxW
- More traditional quest and better rewarding
- Portuguese translation
Factions, we already have those technically.
Nope
Nope
Nope
Yes (more maps) No(open PvP)
Nope
Nope
Nope
Just because you want something doesn’t mean it MUST get those stuff.
If you don’t like the game as it is and think that other games are better, you are free to play those games. You are not the only one playing this game after all, and doing changes specifically for you is never a good idea for a company.
I would love to see a logical place for her to turn up in the current Living Story.
People seem to want her to join for the sake of joining.
The Asura is not directly under attack by Scarlet, and thus their “champion” wouldn’t really bother too much with it.
It is of course possible that Zojja will get involved now that it is clear that Scarlet was involved in the Reactor Explosion, but before that, there would have been no reason for her to join in.
In addition, legendary weapons received stat boots, which now makes them BIS items rather than shiny weapon skins.
They were the BIS items before addition of Ascended as well though. So I don’t really see the issue with that specifically.
It would have been a major issue if they had NOT been buffed up to be BIS when a stronger tier was released however, seeing how much time and/or gold they cost.
There is.. Certain hosts have that feature…
Aye, they have certain extra security.
But if someone want to DDOS something and have enough power they can do it regardless how much extra security said hosts have.
Happy new year from Sweden! (An hour late, but still!) ^^
Yep I was in that Arah dungeon.
Anet, can’t you afford security professionals? I sent you $20 USD just a couple days ago.
No matter how much security they add there it will always be possible to take it down with enough power. There is not a single thing that is connected to the internet that is 100% attack-proof.
I suppose this means people are starting to get annoyed with GW2s success, and feel the need to actively hurt the player in order to discredit it.
i am hoping that there is expansion of the how vigil, order of whispers, druhmand prirory ? also i am wondering about gwen is doing or how the ebonhawk expanded in lore! will see in 2014! i am still enjoy gw1 as i do gw2! loads of good stuff will be coming out in 3 weeks time :P. anet keeps me surprised on every patch of new recipes and skins
Gwen is dead, and have been for over 200 years. You can however read more about the lore of Ebonhawke with the books lying around over there (there is also an achievement for reading them all within a day or something like that).
I did mention that team. They did some amazing work.
But when Anet tells its playerbase “play for now if you want, but don’t expect much” it was pretty logic for a lot of players to drift away.
Which would of course suggest that the game as it was wasn’t as awesome as people here seems to claim every time they whine about GW2. If it really were that awesome, people would have kept playing it even without any new dev-work.
Just for the record I started playing GW1 a few months after Prophecies release, and still play it now and then. But that doesn’t mean I refuse to accept that there are issues with it.
The issue is is that removing these forums cuts off the players from the WvW team, so how do we then make suggestions and talk about WvW improvements?
Oh, I don’t know.
Maybe in the Suggestions forum, or possible the WvW Discussion forum?
They are after all only removing the MATCH-UP forums, not the WvW Discussion, nor Suggestion.
So instead of people just kicking people for having the “wrong” profession people should also start kicking people for having the wrong build or the wrong gear?
Don’t really see how that will help anyone tbh.
Actually no.
They announced GW2, but they still kept developing things for GW1 long after that (All the Beyond stuff for one).
It was several years later when they decided to shut down future development, due to not enough people playing it.
Like I said, there are lots of WvW gold sinks. Upgrades aren’t a gold sink to most every WvW player already.
Hm?
There is currently 2 gold sinks in WvW.
Repair-cost and Upgrades.
Removing half of them will effect the economy.
Sure not many people are effected by said gold-sink, but the amount of gold removed is still quite much.
There is after all several golds removed for every keep upgraded and so on.
Because weapons don’t need to built around the body of the user, while armor basically need to have one version for every race and gender.
The new Tequatl is nothing like the old one, so calling it a re-release is quite silly.
You are also ignoring that the three things you posted are but a small minority of what have actually been released during the year.
Different paint job != stale paint job.
A new area is not just a re-release of old content with new achievement points and a poor rewards attached to it.
What content are you talking about being “re-release”?
The majority of content we have seen this year haven’t really been “re-release” (funnily enough one of the things that were, was SAB, which you claim to like..).
So why could you enjoy it for a over a year, but suddenly can’t due to Fractals and/or Ascended Armor?
Because the grind for best in slot has become too excessive and tedious.
And also completely unnecessary, seeing as now when everything is out the difference is way too minor to change the outcome of 99% of the fights.
So why could you enjoy it for a over a year, but suddenly can’t due to Fractals and/or Ascended Armor?
Yes, the personal story, achievements, gear and rewards are all reason why this doesn’t exist.
