In no way or form does it claim that a manifesto is a rock-solid plan. It is simply a statement of intent, and intents need to change in order to work, if the situation changes.

It is highly unlikely that the game would be as successful as it is if they had done everything exactly as they envisioned it 2.5 years before release, simply due to the fact that the market changes, as does peoples interests and wants.

I believe the current limit for character slots are 64.

While it would be nice it will most likely not be able to be as good as a out of game client anyway. At least not without it costing them way too much money.

Most games I have played that have built-in voice-coms people usually use other clients such as Teamspeak or Mumble anyway, simply due to the fact that the ingame voice is usually quite bad.

Most servers (if not all) already have public team-speak or mumble-channels that can be used for free when needed.

How should they react?

In their eyes it is quite logically acceptable, otherwise they wouldn’t have made the rewards like that.

And based on the extreme toxic post from some people in that thread I wouldn’t really want to subject my employees or colleagues to that, had I been part of ArenaNets management.

You don’t need to pay a single thing other than the initial payment in order to access the DLCs, thus they are, by the very definition of the word, free.

They are however paid for, by people that buy gems, which is the only reason you can keep playing for free.
And no, you are not entitled to anything at all except what you got at the time of payment for the product.
They could decide to terminate the 2-week release plan at anytime and you have no rights to demand that they don’t.

There is a rather big issue here.
If the matches are too random people will complain about steamrolling/being steamrolled, if the matches are less random people will complain about always facing the same servers.

Don’t really see how they could solve that however. I suppose they could alternate between the two now and then, but that is not really a solution either.

The NPCs have skins, presents, bundles and recipes, not just skins.

They don’t have a set date (at least not officially) for Season 2 yet. But they will not start it this year, and most likely not until after the first update (January 21st) either.

They need to collect feedback and data about the seasons and make chances based on that before starting a new one.

What have paid for the updates are people like me who keep buying gems.
If suddenly everyone stopped buying gems (ArenaNet adding something meaningful in the store is beside the point, there are already meaningful stuff there, anything more meaningful would cross the line towards P2W) the game would die quite fast, due to lack of funding.

You are getting exactly what is advertised in the description, thus it is not a scam.

The issue is most likely that the upgrades are finite.
So there is always a risk that the person you would gift it to already have stuff maxed out, thus making the upgrade completely useless.

And no ads anywhere else either?
Like banners or stuff like that?
What about featured and related channels?

I find it extremely unlikely that Scarlet would have been present during the Fall of Abaddon.

The reason she was present during the Reactor explosion was simply due to the fact that she worked with the Inquest, which we knew long before the Fractal was released.

You know, I uploaded like 1 TB of videos to my Youtube channels already and they are charging me nothing although I disabled all ads from my videos and channel.
Granted, Google is a much larger company than Anet, but they also store a much larger amount of data completly for free.

Oh, where did you get those numbers? I would love to see the source for those, because I was under the impression that no such numbers were ever going to be released, so feel free to link them.

And even if that was the case everything they have on their accounts still takes up space, even if they are not active.

And why do they limit it to 1000? If they are after money and it is more or less free free to increase it more, why not make the limit much higher and thus making more money?

It is being tested together with the Edge of the Mists map, and will be released at the same time as that, which mean sometime next year at the earliest.
Quite possibly with the Feature Only patch coming in the middle of March.

So you are basically claiming that we can store unlimited amounts of data for free nowadays? That is news to me.

That is indeed correct.
You could do it from end of the season (friday) until patch yesterday, but now they are no longer available.

Don’t celebrate yet.
We know that it is the end of the storyline (but for all we know it will evolve during that period, and not being available fully the first day) but there is nothing that confirms that it will be the end of Scarlet.

I have looking forward to it though, I have a feeling there might be something about a certain Dragon.

I think it was a combination. Some of it was most likely player-based but they still helped and/or hindered us a bit.
I mean what would happen if people were fast enough to finish it in a week, before the next part was over?
Then people would whine about it meaning nothing, since we still had to wait several weeks for it to update.

Oh, I think they have planned on having everything in their plans done at that time, but things happen.
The only thing they could really say with absolute guarantees is things that are already done, and if they are, why not release them now instead of waiting?

Feature only would simply suggest that there would be no story-elements added in the update, but rather focus on game-play stuff like Precursor crafting, new Legendaries, changes to sPvP as mentioned in the sPvP road-map and so on.

I don’t see how it is in any way or form implying that we would have to pay for it.

They are most likely not saying stuff more directly because we all know what a kittenstorm it would be on the forums if something didn’t manage to get done in time.

I don’t mind Ascended armor being a long term goal but the crafting is too expensive for most people I’d say.

They could make each piece into a mystic forge recipe. Something like 10 Pristine Fractal Relics, 500 Dungeon Token item, Armor Piece from said Dungeon (would determine the stats of said Ascended item), and say 5 Mystic Clovers or 3 Globs of Coagulated Mist Essence

The living story should not take precedent over actually improving the game, to be honest. If it has to be one or the other, features should come first, always.

So they should rush out features that ends up with massive bugs just because?

Keep in mind that the Living Story teams are most likely not the same people working on the major features.
One could assume that it is as simple as the Living Story parts are done (or will be done more likely) in time, while the features need more time to work, thus they give it a couple of months extra time.
