I might not have explained this well enough in the OP, but my friends are not those with time to spare to go from level 1-30, just to see that there’s dungeon content. That could take weeks.
So what you basically want is getting good rewards without having to bother playing and/or learning the game?
You were suggesting Exotic gear for low-level content, which doesn’t really work without remaking Exotic tier, since it doesn’t exist until lvl 62.
Personal Story is a solo-able story to show you the world, nowhere has it ever been advertised as any form of elite content. While dungeons on the other hand was advertised as such before release.
If player haven’t learned by lvl 30 about dodging and stuff I doubt they would learn from a lower-level dungeon.
That is one of the things with GW2 though.
You don’t need to actively group up in order to do stuff together. Since there are no kill-stealing people can all work together without formally grouping up.
Which happens more or less constantly in the more popular event chains.
The dungeons is supposed to be the “elite” content of the game.
And they are not available until lvl 30+ simply because they need people to have a clue before they enter, which is much more likely at lvl 30 than at lvl 10.
Exotics do not drop until lvl 60+ and thus they can’t really drop in low-level dungeons.
The fact that you state in your post that you had a horrible experience with AC due to lack of knowledge from your fellow players would suggest that making dungeons even lower would be incredibly stupid, even if they were to focus on learning people to dodge (however you would do that if they failed to understand it while playing the game earlier), it would not really end well anyway.
What has been launched in 2013?
Neverwinter, Defiance, few F2P conversions and, strictly MMO talking, that’s it.

Aye, people seems to be under the impression that they only competed against MMOs released this year (which is quite silly, seeing as GW2 wasn’t), rather than all MMOs that are currently active.
That includes WoW, FF, TSW, ToR, Runescape and a kittenload of other games.
Or are people going to claim that none of every other MMO in the world offer any competition to GW2?
People will clearly never accept that GW2 won something for actually being better, but rather only because of lack of competition.

Well since you can’t put said infusions in anything other than Rings and Backpacks currently I don’t really see the issue, since both of those can be obtained outside of fractals of high level fractals.
Maybe Arena-Net shouldn’t make it so confusing then, especially for new & returning players. The fact that they separate the dailies into 2 categories is inconvenient and confusing.

There is a rather major difference between “friendly” trash-talk and outright abuse however.
In many cases the threads on the forums have gotten way more into outright abuse rather than “friendly” trash-talk.

Then they’re seeing a problem where there isn’t any. Some competitive chat between opponents is not a big deal. Mud may sometimes be thrown or it may just be interpreted as being thrown. Either way, I don’t see how this could be taken a big deal and it’s certainly not special to GW2. In a competitive/pvp environment it’s normal to facilitate chat between both your own side and the other sides. The unusual thing would be to take away the official capacity for such discussions.
Had you actually been an active user of the match-up forums you would however have been fully aware that it is not just “some competitive chat between opponents”.
It is flat-out abuse in almost every thread.
I don’t think anyone have any issues with some competitive chat. But when every week requires loads of removed posts and even locked threads in most cases, there is clearly an issue.
Yeah, it’d be nice if the majority of those didn’t give you less than 10 dragonite and guild missions being a once a week thing. Hardly anyone does Tequatl. Shatterer and Jormag are essentially a stationary structure, fun fun. That leaves the temple bosses, Balthazar being a rarity. At least the temples aren’t that bad, but I’d still rather not be forced to do them to progress in fractals.
You technically don’t need a single piece of crafted Ascended gear in order to do lvl 50 Fractals though. Since you can basically level up the AR on the rings high enough to get the needed AR.

Nowhere in that definition does it say anything at all about it being set in stone and an absolute promise about the end-product.

The fact that every single thread in said forum is full of flaming, accusations of hacking and/or abuse and need constant checks by the CC team, should provide enough reason to validate a removal of said forum, since people clearly can’t abide by the CoC.

You must not understand what a wish list means. I even said that I know some are farfetched and have been eluded to by the developers, but it doesn’t mean that it will be in the next update. They are just things I would like to see in the next update.

Most likely none of these things will come with said update, seeing as it has been announced that said update and the three updates following that will focus more or less only on living story rather than new features.
I was simply pointing out that it is a rather faulty logic to complain about prices based on the gold to gem trading, since they don’t base the price around that.
And once again people are under the illusion that they base the price on the gold to gem trading rather than the actual “value” of gems.
250 gems is about $3, and that is not really that much in my eyes. Especially not since they work on removing Infusions, and thus saving you quite some time and money when upgrading them.

First of all, as many people have pointed out, most of the living stories can be completed in 1-2 days, not 3-4 weeks. So stop comparing season one to a living world story, they require different levels of effort and as such the rewards should be considerably different.
Funny, I saw people with the title for the meta just a day or two after start of season 1.
I suppose those people somehow managed to hack the game and give themselves that title then, since it was apparently not possible to complete it faster than 3-4 weeks.

No matter what they say or do people will complain.
But the main issue is that people refuse to understand what a manifesto actually is.
The only way to make them change their methods is to stop playing. Tell people not to play the game. Once the numbers drop, anet will release manifesto-ish content to get you to come back. You return, enjoy it while it lasts then leave again. Repeat this cycle until you die.
One can however assume that the reason they drifted away a bit from the manifesto (which still is a statement of intention, not 100% truth) was due to the fact that people stopped playing and thus they had to change something in order to keep the game alive.
Building a game solely for the mindset of GW1 players would not work today, and it definitely wouldn’t work to keep a massive game such as GW2 alive.
The populations are the obvious problem here. Highly populated servers(on papers) which have close to zero activity on game aspects(such as WvW or PvE).
WHY are we considered a Very High server while we have the active population of a medium server?
Because people (such as the OP) keeps talking about somehow base the transfer fee on the number of active WvW-players, and in order to do that we need to be able to define what actually is an active WvW-player.
my solution does not need any of that information as its based off league standing. the cost changes depending on your league not your servers population
since wvw is the only part of the game where guesting isnt an option to help another server then basing the transfer costs off how well a server is doing in wvw makes sense
But what if a server that is leading in the league suddenly loses several of their major WvW-guilds?
Then they will be dropping like a stone, but it would still take quite some time before other guilds could transfer there due to the fact that they are still highly ranked in the league.
Every time I see one of these threads pop up I am hoping for someone to actually post a solution, but I have yet to see a single solution to the problem.
What would be considered a WvW-player?
Someone standing around in spawn for hours?
Someone not doing anything useful for the server (such as trading keeps/farming WXP)?
Someone who logs in for 5 minutes and then leaves?
In order to report exploiting and hacking you should take screen-shots and/or video and send directly to “exploits@arenanet.com”.
The main issue with simply adding it to the in-game reporting tool is that that would mean that they basically need to video-record every single thing in the game in order to actually prove that someone have exploited/hacked, or spend loads of time following potential hackers/exploiters around.
There is also the issue with people abusing reporting tools and claiming people are hacking just because they happen to be better or something like that (hear more or less weekly in WvW about how the enemy is “hacking” just because they happen to be better.
Ah yes, lets wait with possibly game-breaking issues because there is a reset in progress…
It is not like your server is the only one affected, so no one is really getting any kind of advantage.
You have to keep in mind that people getting something as rare as this will most likely be very happy, but if you increased the drop-rate it would no longer be as special, and thus less people would be very happy.
You know, this entire 10 pages and countless threads could have been totally avoided if Anet had told everyone a head of time what the award was going to be for the seasons division winners. Then told us what the award was going to be for the other realms that completed the META.
Anet, learn a lesson here, tell us what the rewards are going to be next time. Don’t pretend and hide them like it is some great secret when they come out and there nothing more than mundane.

They told us that the winner would get a finisher.
They told us that everyone would get rewards based on how well their server place in the league.
But how should they react then?
Clearly the rewards are acceptable in their eyes, so what would it help by them simply restating that?
