Actually no they don’t.
The status can change several times per day which would prove that it is not based on “number of accounts created on date (funny that you comment on the other guys spelling with this in your post btw..) server”.

It is extremely unlikely that the game (and therefore also the company) would survive more than a year if they only ever did exactly as people interpreted the Manifesto.
But if people only listen to a single video and then ignore all those articles and stuff clarifying things during the YEARS between Manifesto release and game release it IS the players fault.
Indeed, this game has so much potential but it gets wasted with bad management and junior gamedesigners it’s really a shame. There are 3 major releases planned this year that are in direct competition to GW2, they better come up with something good. Like Cantha expansion.

As far as I am aware all major releases this year will be P2P and thus not in direct competition with GW2 B2P model.
that would only happen if ArenaNet gave themselves goals that weren’t achievable in the near future. Otherwise yes I would have to agree with you.
The issue is that there is always a risk that something will turn up, that will push things back. I doubt they sit down and put up goals that they know they won’t be able to achieve after all.

At least 3 world map gives you 2 exotic for completion guaranteed. So it was pretty much “will”. Any way to get guaranteed ascended now ?
Not everyone is doing World Completion.
And you are most likely level 80 quite a bit of time before you finish the last of the maps for world completion. And even so said exotics might not even be useful for your profession/playstyle.
And yes, there are many ways to get guaranteed ascended items. Actually every single piece of Ascended Gear have a guaranteed method of obtainment.

It is of course much more likely that they are spreading blatant lies and showing completely incorrect information, because we all know that they will gain so much more with that then when not saying anything at all
No, it is a rather stupid place for them if they want to stay hidden.
It would be much more logical for them to regroup at Isles of Janthir, from where they came.
Or simply “phase out”, like they used to avoid the Elder Dragons during their previous rise.
but it’s very likely there will be infusion progression, and instanced necessity for BiS items and AR.
and it’s enough for some more people to leave, especially if don’t already like ascended at this moment.

I doubt they will make another dungeons that is not Fractals that would “require” AR. They might of course, but it is quite unlikely.
They will of course require higher levels of AR when they increase the level cap of Fractals, but that isn’t really much of an issue seeing as you can already see all content at lvl 1.
When we reach the ring of fire i find it extremely unlikely we wont face the Mursaat again, it would be awful if we never encountered them there, they were a formidable foe, ones i loved engaging, i just can’t imagine gw without them and i hope we face them again.
You are aware of that as far as we know there is currently only a single Mursaat left alive right? And the fact that they didn’t really come from the Ring of Fire, but rather built bases there in order to stop the Flameseeker Prophecy?
I guess infusion was only a matter of time, as the game opens up and we get closer to the ring of fire and perhaps the Mursaat, peeps who are not infused with ar wont be able to do that content even if its dynamic events, it’s not so much ascended i dislike more the way we obtain it by tedious and expensive time gated crafting, i don’t want or need better stats as such (Thou i need ar for high lvl fracts), we may find in time all will need infusions with agony resist, when and if this happens it may not be a choice as such for peeps to leave, just the last straw.
It is extremely unlikely that we will ever be forced to get AR for open-world encounters.
And how would you make said heroes/henchmen?
With a random chance to dodge enemy attacks? Or with a set chance that will make them either dodge all the dangerous one or miss all of them?
Well, if they did chance it to work like this, they would decrease the drop-rate for Tickets quite massively anyway, so it would most likely take around the same time/money to get them anyway.
If bought directly from ArenaNet you have up to 180 days to get a refund, no matter where you live.
If you on the other hand bought it in a store or somewhere else the refund policy is that of the retailer rather than that of ArenaNet.
That’s right: “In early January” is sometime in the first half of the month. I am not sure about the precise planned distribution date, but you can be sure you didn’t miss it!
PvE and instances have always been considered different in GW2. The distinction is simply created in order to make it easier to hinder abuse of certain items in certain areas of the game.
Oh really now? What is this vertical progression you speak of?
Faction points.
Sunspear points.
Lightbringer points.
(Two of which were actually REQUIRED to even get past certain parts of the MAIN STORYLINE, and the third more or less required to do a certain dungeon or even certain parts of the world, including later missions.)
I would say that was a rather massive amount of grind and vertical progression there, especially since all of those gave skills and most (all but Factions and Sunspear) gave very real and quite powerful passive effects when equipped.
Yes you can play for free after you bought the box.
But people are buying gems to keep the game running. If no one bought gems the game would shut down quite fast and thus it is those of us that buy gems that are paying for the content. Not those people that paid $60 over a year ago.
I’m glad I am never even giving the option to opt out of this “anti scam” tool. I guess Anet just think I’m too stupid to be able to trade using a standard p2p system.
We had a P2P system in GW1, and even with systems to stop scamming people kept getting scammed and forums got filled with posts about people raging about being scammed.
Unless it is 100% IMPOSSIBLE to scam someone (such as with the TP) there will ALWAYS be scams.
Also… even if it was not an immediate change after she was hired…. I guarantee she was the one who decided that change be implemented.
But she was hired long before the game was even released. So if it was changed due to them hiring her why didn’t it change until a few months after release, and not before release?
And it is threads like these that makes developers not wanting to share plans or information about things they are working on.
People complain when devs aren’t open about what they do.
But can we really blame them when every single thing they say are suddenly a “promise” even though they make it clear that it is a plan and subject to change?
While true it would be, but then you look at the existing classes and they aren’t balanced anyway. The whole trait and skill system need significant balancing at the current point anyway.
So people are complaining about the lack of balance, and yet want to make balance even harder?

Legendaries were un-tradable until Anet hired a Nexon employee who made various cash grab moves in the games development process.

Oh, you mean they were un-tradable before they even existed since the game had not been released? Because they hired said employee several MONTHS before release
It might have simply risen because of the fact that Zhaitan was sleeping UNDER it and thus lifted it up when it awoke.
There is nothing anywhere that says anything about how it stays up (but then again, when new islands are “created” they tend to stay up.
I dunno why any of you think a third party not at all affiliated with Anet would know anything….
Because press are not super-human and usually get information before it is available to the general public in order to make articles to be released very soon after the official release of said information?
It is after all more or less the norm that articles about reveals are released just a few moments after the reveals themselves and that would be literally impossible without getting the information beforehand.
It is also very likely that we will see a big blog-post tomorrow or early next week with information, and thus it is likely that the press already have said information.
Oh. So how does he have the inside scoop on what Arenanet has in store? Seems silly that a media/fan site would know things early(way way way early possibly).
If the blog post talking about it comes tomorrow or early next week it isn’t really that weird that press would know about it already, that is common practice after all, and also the reason why sites like TenTonHammer and such can have articles about new releases/information more or less as soon as the company posts it themselves.
