Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Why are people ignoring the fact that we HAVE comments by the team in this very thread and that they have already outright stated that it WILL be back?

Because if you can unlock both with the same character it isn’t really branching. It would also be rather confusing to have 3-4 different follow-up instances all conflicting each other if you unlock them all.
I am assuming this is a troll post, but in case it is actually real:
Zhaitan.
They need to do something. Maybe even using the /age counter that has been in the game from day 1. Maybe use AP as the measuring stick. Anything other than the current catch-all system.
But /age and APs makes the whole system useless. Considering that the only thing the gold-sellers would have to do would be to take stolen accounts and use instead. Which they already do.
The only thing adding that limit would do is put accounts at risk even more (there are plenty of people that have way too bad knowledge of account-security).
I simply think they had to make a choice.
Either they could have replayability or they could have choices that mattered and thus branched out.
They choose to go for replayability, which, based on the constant complains since release about Personal Story not being replayable, was probably the right choice.
Lets translate it to real life:
The enemy have invaded and have destroyed your oil production.
The enemy is now outside the gates of your capital city.
Would you really go out and rebuild your oil production rather than destroy the enemy that was about to take your capital city?
Yes, they are breaking no rules.
From your example it doesn’t even necessarily have to do with planned things either. It can simply be server 2 and server 3 taking advantage of what the other is doing.
Is the inconvenience of 1% more valuable than the security of 100%?
And it won’t really work with exceptions either, because then the whole system can just be bypassed by becoming one of those exceptions.
So they should spend millions of dollars for something that MAYBE will generate some income?
I think it is simply a picture from the event from the demo, where you use a rifle to hold off Mordrem.
The source was cleansed, surely we were nothing compare to it.
Except that it can go back and corrupt the source at any time.
Why not just finish off the annoying ants attacking it before doing it?

^ I think it was simply a matter of having to make a choice.
Either they could have real branching story-lines, or they could make it replayable. And it appears that they decided that more people would prefer replayability over branching.
They can’t really have both after all.

^ I would assume that the reason they don’t give us those blogs are because they are not completely set in stone yet. Everyone knows what happens if they do a blog about something and then there are changes between now and release of the expansion.
They were sold in packages back in the days when SAB was active. But yeah, why sell it for $10 when you will pay 30 times as much?

New blog up with some more information about the coming map(s):
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/gameplay-features-making-the-most-of-maguuma/
Also includes nightmarish frogs.
And that is the dangers with data-mining. Not everything that is data-mined is released.
It is very likely that this will be, but there are plenty of examples that have not been released.
Stuff is not official until they are announced by ArenaNet.
That’s already what we will get.
ArenaNet said they will release a “handful” of Legendaries, with the rest coming “later”.
When the game was announced, years ago, they said they would add more minigames like the shooting range, “later”. That “later” never came.
In 2013, they said they would add new legendary weapons and new kinds of legendary gear, “later” in the year. That “later” never came.
They never said: “There will be a full set of Legendary weapons at release of HoT”.
That late is coming with HoT. And they actually added more mini-games between release and now as well. Including Crab-toss and Southsun Survival.
And later that year they informed us that it would not happen that year, due to changes to the reward-system. But I suppose that doesn’t count?
HIndi and Arabic are both referred to very different “culture” group they mostly unlikely would consume GW2 product. For example GW2 have alcohol drinking, it is different planet for most of the Arabic world.
On other hand countries like Greece, Italy, Portugal (and other Portuguese-speaking countries), Spain (and other Spanish-speaking countries), even Russia with CIS exists in the same “western” culture sphere as Germany, France, USA, UK, etc. and consume GW2 product.
By the way Russians that speak good English in games is a tip of the iceberg. It is like 1/20 of possible playerbase. I know it, I’m Russian.
Which is basically my point.
The number of people that speak a language have nothing at all to do with how many people play a game. Therefore it is completely irrelevant to which languages the game should be available in.
Of course there are people that play it in those countries. But lets say there is a total of 10 000 people that speak Portuguese that plays GW2. Should ArenaNet really spend hundred of thousands of dollars just to translate it for those 10k people?
I hope there’s a lot of new zones with this content rather than, say, just three or whatever.
Would you rather have 10 zones with some content in each or 3 zones with massive amount of content?
More zones != replayabilty or good quality after all.
As Rebound already said , a paragon system like Diablo 3 would be awesome.
So… basically the Mastery system being added with HoT?
Ah yes, lets do it on Fridays, in the middle of WvW resets. We all know how popular that is.
And no, bug fixes should go live when they are ready, not potentially half a week later.
No matter when they do fixes people will get inconvenienced.
But why would it fly away? Why wouldn’t it just finish the annoying little ants that are killing off its minions?
It could just attack and kill us, and then go back to corrupt the Source again.
I do wonder why people want more communication when they clearly don’t care about what is actually communicated. We already KNOW that they will fix the trait-system with the expansion and that we will get more information about the changes at some point between now and the expansion’s release.

They could release 1 specialization every 2 weeks and it would last 4 months. I’m not sure what they are holding onto it for. If they dump them all at once that seems worse than spreading them out.
I would assume they are simply holding onto it because they are not yet set in stone. Therefore they don’t wish to risk presenting something that might change drastically before release. Because everyone knows what happens if that situation comes.
How likely do you think it is that a storyline writer would fix a bug?
And then people would call ArenaNet lazy and greedy kittens for releasing two identical sets
1- Germany not large languages. Verty small languages use in the world.
2-Portuguese used in 9 countries as an official language, and in more than 20 paieses as a second language more. On average 340 million people speak Portuguese as the language oficial.E the fifth most spoken language in the world. (Data taken from google)
It might not be a large language overall (it is spoken in 3 countries as the main language), but the MARKET it rather large when it comes to German gamers.
Why do you think the biggest European gaming convention takes place in Germany?
The amount speaking a language worldwide is completely irrelevant though. It is a question about how many that speak that language that plays the game. The second largest language in the world Spanish. The third is English. Fourth is Hindi and Fight is Arabic. (and that is only taking into consideration native speakers).
That would suggest that before the game was translated into Portuguese it should be translated into Hindi and Arabic, since there are more people speaking those languages.
The problem is not learn the language. What i think is if they translated to Russian, Spanish and German, they could translated to my language too.
They have not translated it to Russian.
Both Spanish and German are very large languages, with rather large playerbases (I seem to recall something about the German playerbase alone being bigger than the whole NA playerbase back in GW1. I’ll see if I can find it.
If they start translating into minor languages they would suddenly have to start supporting hundreds of languages, which would require hundreds of new employees which would require millions of dollars.
I am glad we’re finally getting the expansion, but remember they said LS was to be it’s own team, with other projects going on at the same time. most of this expansion was developed already before living story ended, so just because it’s in beta now does not mean they could not still have some small event to tide us over. If what they said about how the teams worked, the LS team shouldn’t really have much to do right now.
Or maybe the LS team is working on the LS coming after the expansion?
This is really the full extent of what a company of Anets size and resources can do? All airplane mode was essentially was to deliberately put the character into a bug state as that is what characters do if their animations do not load properly, then add stupid sounds and a screen filter any decent home video editor coul produce. Just offends me they’d do something so cheap and amateurish.
Ah yes. They should of course pull 20 people away from working on the expansion in order to work on a thing available for a single day then gone forever.
Yes, you gave what I asked for, and I comment on why it is not the same as this situation. Maybe I should have been clearer.
^ Seeing as it is technically sharing accounts which is against the ToS it is unlikely that they would do a rollback.
But they are not on the same scale.
Completely re-releasing content is not even remotely close to changing some cosmetics or redacting a change. Nor was the reaction (overall, not just on the forums) to those things even remotely close to the same. Thus it is a rather different situation.
Demanding that they change the color of something is not even in the same league as demanding they release X or Y content.
So it is unavailable due to a bug?
It was not actually made unavailable on purpose.
It is a bug, it will be fixed. Not even remotely close to the SAB situation.
I guess the luminescent armor set is like SAB too.. since you can no longer get it in the game..
Yes you can?
The first one is not really anything at all related to changing stuff in-game. So wouldn’t really count that.
The second one is indeed true. Should have remembered that. My bad.
Third one was usually rather calm as far as I recall.
The fourth one is just speculations. There were no hints whatsoever that there would be other tools with the same or similar abilities. In fact it would have been more like this situation if they had changed the tool, which they did not.
The fifth one is indeed correct as well.
So all in all it was two things. And none of them even remotely as big (release or reaction-wise) as this.
I remember back when they released armor sets and people complained about those and rather wanted outfits…
The circle is now complete.
I would assume so. Seeing as anything else would require a massive amount of time and work, which simply wouldn’t be worth it.
DirectX 12 is NOT out, and still doesn’t have a release date.
Really, disrespectful?
Could argue that it’s inconsiderate for a company to force something onto their customers without giving them an option to opt out.
An option that doesn’t include not playing for a day, as they’re entitled to play the game just as much as you are.
Yes, I find it disrespectful. It is after all only a single day out of 365. It is not like we have this forced upon us a month or even a week. It is a single day.
You could play the game during the event as well. You might have CHOSEN to not play it, but it was in no way or form unplayable.
Apparently you’ve forgotten all the other times ANet has buckled. This wouldn’t be the first nor the last.
Your flimsy excuses are really, really old at this point. Please just stop.
Which are all those other times where ArenaNet have buckled due to massive amounts of rage? I must have forgotten all about them, because I can’t really recall a single one.
If you don’t care about your content as a customer why do you care to come here and spread misinformation and devaluate others opinions? Or you’re not a customer but somehow you didn’t get a red mark for your posts. Your activity on these forums is highly suspicious. You don’t compliment arena net or a game, you just attack personally other posters for stating their opinions and try to make them look bad or unimportant.
Oh, I care about the content quiet a bit. I would love for it to come back (and it will). I simply don’t want it to come back due to people behaving like children and raging like mad.
Also insinuating stuff about other posters is probably a rather good way to get yourself an infraction.
SAB is something they relaeased in the past for us , now they have just ready world 1-2 ; and i think ppl (veterans and new players) would be happy even if they add now SAB without a new world…
I am fully aware that it was released in the past. But this time it is different. The first time it was totally unexpected. The second time came after some CONSTRUCTIVE and nice comments about getting it back.
Now on the other hand it all comes down to a handful of people raging and spamming the forums DEMANDING that it comes back. Thus the situation is completely different.
And no, I actually doubt people would be content with just W1 and W2. People would possibly be quiet for a couple of hours, but then they would start raging and shouting about laziness and demand that they release World 3.
I wouldn’t call it raging so much as mass disappointment.
And if they were to release it in a couple days it would make US look like a bunch of jerks because they added in the minis and we all lost our minds instead of getting the hint and waiting patiently.
That is mainly because the mods are good at their job and remove the worst posts rather fast. But the last few days have involved loads of shouting, raging and demands of people getting fired.
The group that accept that a SINGLE DAY each year have pranks and if you don’t like it you can take a break for that SINGLE DAY?
Pranks like these takes time and resources to make. Giving people the ability to simply turn it off at will, when it is only available for such a short time, is disrespectful for the people that spent their time working on it. Simple as that.

Do you know what the worst scenario is?
That they haven’t said anything because not even they know what they are going to do.
Wouldn’t be the first time ArenaNet announces an idea before they actually try to implement it and learn that their original idea is not going to happen.
Yes, how dare they actually develop and change stuff based on feedback?
They haven’t said anything because they know that if they say something and it even slightly changes between now and when it is released all kitten breaks loose.
The problem right now is that if they do release it now, it will just look like they buckled under all the rage. Which basically makes it look like if someone rages enough, ArenaNet will add it in.
Which might very well open the floodgates with people raging about Mounts, Duels, Raids, Trinity, VIP and so on.
It is here for a SINGLE DAY. Why is it such a big deal for everyone?
Unless I miscalculate it should be gone in about 34 minutes as well.
This seriously makes me think about dropping this game and not playing again.
If this is all it takes (a single day with a joke) to make you think about quitting the game I have a feeling you are just looking for an excuse to quit.
To those who think no apology is necessary, you are simply wrong. This type of black humor has no place here. The dev’s made a mistake and they need to acknowledge it. Bobble heads, etc., while annoying did not allow comparisons to a mass murder. Certainly some took no offense, but for those who did the development team needs to apologize in some manner.
It is not black humor. It was an event planned and developed LONG before the crash. It have no connection whatsoever.
There are always tragedies happening around the world. Catering releases to that means no releases ever.
As for the booble heads: There are actual diseases that look like that, which usually leads to death. So shouldn’t that also not have been added then, since clearly someone can make that connection?
uhm sorry but just no…
there are actually people here that had to deal with this for two weeks now
first thing after two hard weeks working with family members is this aviation joke?
sod the immersion it is about the timing. and your post was really just … yeah….
There were cities bombed and people killed just a day before Scarlet destroyed Lion’s Arch. Should they have postponed that release as well?
What about releases that involves knives or guns, since every single day people are getting killed by those?
There are ALWAYS tragedies happening around the world. If they base their releases around that they will never be able to release anything.
They have nothing to apologize for.
And the issue is that if the start apologizing for this now, they will basically put themselves in a position where people will basically demand an apology for every single release ever.
pardon i didnt memorize the RULES!
and originally i got the link from the forum. where there were no complaints surrounding it being there.
now i know that rule.
next time i wont “post a petition”. ill just inform people that it exists.
btw, i keep reading how it might look like alot of people are upset, but in reality its not that many. how does one typically prove numbers? with a petition…sorry i thought it was a good idea.
sorrynotsorry
And yet you are required to know the rules. Just like how you are required to know the laws in the country/state you are currently in.
And no, informing people that it exists is basically the same as posting it, so that would most likely also be against the rules.
The thing is: In threads like these that are long and wild, it appears that there are loads of unhappy people. But in fact a large amount of the posts are from the SAME people. If we only counted every unique name once raging about it I can guarantee that it is not even 1% of the playerbase.
A petition doesn’t really prove anything. Especially not one on the internet, where people can easily sign multiple times.
