Evaluating != adding.
It is quite possible that they HAVE evaluated and decided against adding it.
According to Colin Johanson, Guild Wars 2 Game Director, Super Adventure Box will be back in the future. We don’t have a timeframe for the return of the SAB, but we will be bringing back this popular content.
I know you would like more details, more info, a date, etc., but that’s not available right now. I hope the above comment reassures you, though, because at the core, the important answer is that yes, SAB will be back in the future.

I’m not sure if I’d even be satisfied if anet just up and turns SAB back on. We keep their game afloat but they can’t be bothered to even acknowledge a 41 page thread? What we should really be after is an apology. This is ludicrous.
And yet another one that completely disregards the fact that they HAVE acknowledge it and even given us information about the fact that it WILL be back. In this very thread.
Most important question is: Will gw2 switch to dx10?
Iam no softwere doctor, but Witcher 3 will take only one patch to add dx10 option. I hope i dont have to mention huge benefits for performance in dx10.
Witcher 3 is also a single player game.
Which has been developed with dx10 in mind.
I am rather sure that the playerbase for GTAV is not really the same as the targeted playerbase for GW2.
Not that it really matters. ArenaNet should not build their schedule around when other completely unrelated games do stuff. They should do it when it is good for them. Simple as that.
Doing it on a Tuesday is rather good. It is at the start of the week, so most employees are still quite rested from the weekend, it is also long before the next weekend, which means that they an start working on issues (and fix some of them) before everyone goes home for 2 days.
^ I have a feeling that the target market for GTAV and MK is not really the same as the one for GW2.
The mega server instances already takes this into account.
This sucks, I only started playing GW2 3 months ago and have saved up every single penny I earned. I now have 300 gold, and that is nowhere near enough to get me a twilight. I was thinking about getting RMT gold, and it seems to hit late joiners like me worse than others
So you were thinking about breaking the ToS and now you won’t do it simply because they have said they will remove the gold? It have been against the ToS since release after all.
How was it nonsense?
They don’t know exactly where Mordremoth is. They know the general area where it is assumed to be. Thus they do a large-scale attack on said general area to weaken the enemy forces before the ground-assault.
More or less exactly how bombing-runs works in real-life wars.
I face-palmed when Trahearne just started barraging an otherwise silent forest.
Like, did he even see anything vital to hit or is he just suspicious of all trees now?
That is how warfare works though.
You have a general target. You hit general target with bombs.
Just look at some pictures how London and Berlin looked by the end of WWII.
Not to mention Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
I think that no matter what they do, people will not be content until it is back. And even then I doubt people will be fully content.
Ah yes, because people would accept an answer like that……
Because the bugs could have turned up when they made changes to the engine? Which they have done quite a bit since it was last released.
Not to mention the fact that there actually WERE quite a bit of bugs in world 2, which people raged rather much about.
^ Why do people keep assuming that they are not releasing it just to annoy people? Maybe there are actual reasons for it? Such as bugs and such that needs to be fixed but being put on the very end of the queue due to being very low priority.
It shouldn’t even matter that it’s linked to GW2. We’ve all PAID for our GW1 accounts, there is absolutely no excuse for not responding to issues where people aren’t able to access the account that they’ve paid for in a timely manner. It’s really really poor on their part.
Except for the fact that the game itself is in maintenance mode you mean?
How long should they have a full set of support personal for it though? 10 years? 20 years? Forever?
Guild Wars 1 basically generates no money anymore, thus they can’t really justify having a full support team for it. Simple as that.

Yeah, but we get sort of open beta next week and that’s BIG I guess. Now I think we will get release date short after that, and between this announcement and release they will be showing the best stuff – 3 weeks of specs (every week 1 heavy, 1 medium and 1 light) and Guild Halls. With premiere very late Q2 – early Q3. These are my hopes :P
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/the-stronghold-pvp-public-beta-is-coming/
It is open beta for the PvP map. Not HoT as a whole. It will only be that single map and it will only be for 24h.
Unlikely. Seeing as the market is simply not big enough over there to justify the money spent on having servers down there.
Why don’t they split into two clientes? One for older computers (x86) and another for brand-new PCs with higher capabilities (x64).
Because that would require maintaining two clients which will basically double workload? ^^
^ It simply sounds like you did not supply enough information to actually verify that you are the rightful owner.
Great… no living world season 1 and no SAB for new players. Now get rid of halloween cause it’s repeatable content and it’s no use bringing it back EVER :<.
You are aware that year 1 Halloween haven’t been doable since year 1, right?
People are overestimating what can be done over the phone.
The vast majority of issues would still need to be sent to other divisions and so on, so even if they had a phone-support, people would still have to wait for fixes to their issues.
Nope. There is only the ticket system.
Hello, i sent a ticket about my GW and GW2 account linking issue (not being able to access titles/rewards in GW2 and not being sure if they are linked or not) and its 10 days now i had no answer other then the initial automated message.
Ticket #1391751
The Hall of Monuments is disabled at the moment due to a big.
I wonder if one would risk getting banned by trying to disrupt these activities (like using Reflects, Bubbles and Knockbacks/Pulls) ^^
Your team in EotM is based on the color you have in the regular WvW-maps.

^ One could of course question if people really care so little about their accounts that they need to have an incentive to use the supplied protection.
Hi krall. Well, this is a decision of the anet team itself. In Guild Wars 1 for example they decided that pirates day (Makes a lot of sense in gw2 universe) and Breast Cancer Awareness Month were important enough to “Celebrate” in game.
And yet the first of those only added a single drop and changed the costumes of a couple of NPCs. Not really much of a celebrations at all.
The second added a single dye that you could buy, nothing else.
One could of course also point out that the lack of celebrations in this game might be due to ArenaNet deciding against doing more of them.
They can’t return to flesh and blood though.
The Rite of the Great Dwarf is permanent.
For all intents and purposes they are basically an extinct race, seeing as they can’t reproduce and for all we know Ogden is the very last one left.
Who decides what is “important” enough to celebrate? Besides we all know how well people here take repeated festivals and stuff, so why bother doing it, if all they are going to hear is complaints and rage every year?
Aye, if he doesn’t have that mail he would need to contact support.
Should be the serial number from the mail he got after his purchase.
According to the first post it will reset at 12:01 AM UTC each Sunday (5:01 PM PDT/4:01 PM PST Saturday).
So basically getting 500 gold on Saturday morning will still allow you to get 500 on Sunday morning.
Getting 500 on Sunday morning however will not allow you to get anymore gold until next Saturday afternoon/night (depending on timezone).
If I send 500g on saturday will I be able to send another 500g on sunday and it will all work or is it if I send 500g on sunday and then send 500g on monday it will work?
You can SEND as much gold as you want. The limit is how much you can GET.
It is funny how people have been complaining about the lack of PC voice since the Living story started. And basically claiming that it would be the most important thing ever to bring back.
But now when they finally add it back in, people complain about that as well.
Subscription is a steady income every month. Thus they can rather easily plan for stuff like that.
ArenaNet on the other hand probably have rather different incomes from month to month, and they have to hope that people keep buying gems every month in order to generate said income.
Therefore it is rather different.
It is also worth pointing out that Turbine have a rather large number of games, and had rather many active games back when they made the change. So it was not just the income from LotRO that mattered, but also the income from DDO and AC.
And yes, people keep bring up all these freelance people doing it for free. But how long did it take?
For what games were it done?
Was the updates used officially by the company developing the game? (Which is very unlikely due to legal stuff and such)
It is also worth pointing out that no one other than ArenaNet have access to the engine in question. Seeing as it is their own in-house created one. Which means that even if someone wanted to do it for free, it could take years to just get familiar enough with the engine to even start the project. And by the time they are ready people would start demanding support for DirectX 13 or whatever is the “new cool thing” by then.
Although a lot of people keep posting about how Blizzard created a DX10/11 renderer for WoW, it’s not the only company that has done so. Turbine created a DX11 renderer for Lotro and DDO, CCP for EVE and many many others. Did they all have way more money than Arenanet to hire actual programmers to work on that?
It is actually rather interesting that every single company that people brings up that have made the change have all had subscription based games (both DDO and LotRO require a subscription back when they did the update). And yet no one seems to see the connection.
So, are you saying that no one else left ArenaNet?
Or that you think those 14 individuals I mentioned are not talented enough that the game feels different due to their departure?
I am just pointing out that 14 people in 3 years is a very low number in this market.
And no, I don’t think their departures changed the game all that much. Especially considering that not even half of them were designers.
OMG, 14 people have left in three years! The company is clearly dying!!!
44$ is too much for that kind of content. This is maybe preorder. Fair price would be 20-30$ (if they want to bring back players)
It is basically unheard of with AAA game-expansions for under 39,99$.
We also KNOW we don’t have all information about what will be in the expansion.
I don’t think they’d charge more for the expansion than they do the full game. My guess is it will be $20-30, probably $24.99. I can’t see them charging much more for three maps, a new profession, and no new race.
Source for number of maps?
It is not available in game at this time. Season 1 takes place after the Personal Story.
It might become available for purchase in the future, but as of right now it is not, simply due to the fact that it was not developed with replayability in mind.
It was already like this in spvp apparently at the beginning of the game.
And PVErs and WvWers can just use a few clicks of the button on AH to get gems with gold anyhow.
Except for the fact that you could only win gems in tournaments that required gems to join in the first place. So no, it was not just creating loads of gems out of nothing.
So can PvP:ers.
In fact, PvP:ers have it much easier to get the gold to sell for gems than WvW:ers do.
That doesn’t make it less unsupported however. It is very much used of course. But it is in no way or form supported by ArenaNet, which they have made rather clear.
Why should they change and/or cater changes to unsupported activities?
I actually believe it was the other way around.
A new professions is more likely than a new race. Which makes sense, since professions doesn’t really effect story, while a race would basically require a completely new early part of the Vanilla Personal Story and so on.
I also seem to recall they saying something about before adding completely new weapons they would add the already existing weapons to the professions.
Gems or skins imo.
Maybe 10 gems per win, and 5 per loss. Only issue I see with that is I would have to save them up to convert. But I honestly don’t care about the current rewards.
Having such a reliable in-game way to get gems is a very bad idea. Especially if it is locked to a single game mode.
WoW managed to make the jump from DX9 to DX11 so I don’t know why GW2 can’t do the same, I gained 25fps when Blizzard updated their engine and client to 64bit. It would be a massive improvement to the game.
If we assume WoW currently have 7 million subscribers.
Each paying $15 per month. That means a guaranteed income of AT LEAST 105 MILLIONS every MONTH.
ArenaNet is most likely not even close to that level of income. Thus it is rather silly to compare them.
- Anet needs to focus on HoT content!
No content design is needed, they can just bring back what they already made.
Except for that tiiiiny little fact that everyone that have any sort of development knowledge knows: It might not work to just bring it back, since quite a bit of the game have been changed still. Even completely irrelevant stuff to SAB, might have broken stuff. So it WOULD require work (at the very least: Testing everything to make sure it still works, and at the worst: completely rewriting parts of the code.)
