Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Only one problem I see, how do you bring back a dead god…and he is dead, destroyed…we did it at the end of Nightfall.
To be fair we already have seen something like time-travelling in game. And we know for a fact that the Mists can show echos of the past.
I remember when we voted for a new fractal between the Thaumanova Reactor or an Abbadon fractal we were told that both would eventually be in the game. Maybe this is a hint that the Abbadon fractal will be coming soon, possibly where Rytlock ended up.
We remember it very differently. I quite clearly remember them saying that they would NOT do both Fractals.
We will not make both fractals.
Abaddon came from Nightfall for the first Guild Wars. That is Elona. He was the God of Water and Secrets
The NPC as such turned up in Nightfall yes. But the actual character was NOT from Elona none of the “original” Six Gods were. Or from Tyria for that matter.
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
Looks like abbs to me, which would be an odd thing to bring up in GW2, but well yeah…there you have it.
Not really, considering as one of the two fractals we voted about was the Fall of Abaddon and we do visit a temple of Abaddon during the personal story.
Abaddon was from Elona
Abaddon had a temple in Orr
Elona is right next door to Orrhmmm are we going to get Elona and not Cantha this time?
I am completely sure that Abaddon was NOT from Elona.
It looks like a statue to Abbadon. If it is, it means we’re going into the Crystal Desert, the one place on Tyria where such a statue might exist.
Actually I think there are more potential statues of Abaddon in Orr than there are in Crystal Desert.
Abaddon, is that you?
Is that Abaddon….?
(Which would work quite well with all the talk about connecting to GW1 stories..)
Wow that has to be the fugliest skin lol. I feel bad for the peeps who put their bloods into that
To be fair most (if not all) people that were involved in the thread already knew exactly which skin it was, seeing as the skin have been available more or less since release, even though no one have been able to find it until now.
I think the main issue is that people play(ed) Guild Wars 2 with the impression that it would have “standard” MMO-end game. Which I find rather weird seeing as they quite clearly stated that it would not be the case.
No it’s not. I played it for two hours last night and earned a grand total of 50 silver. It’s an awful way to earn money.
I am assuming you didn’t actually sell any drops then but rather just opened/threw them away/banked them?

Employee entry from Jul 23 2014
There are many more posts but all of them say the same basically
Yeah……. except that most of them don’t.
Years? No. They were both detailed in the run up to release.
But sure, keep ignoring anything that counters your preconceived idea.
Oh, feel free to link it then, because I might have missed it.
And I am still waiting for example of post-release releases selling points that have not been added to the game.
Source?
I would assume it is from Glassdoor Reviews, which is isn’t really that reliable as a source, seeing as it is fully possible for anyone (employee or not) to actually add reviews.
They were both absolutely used in the hype material and pre-release videos, yes.
Hm? I only really heard them talk a bit about it in one video or something like that, which was YEARS before the game was released.
Are we really going to claim that every single thing ever mentioned in connection to a game should be considered a selling point?
And I still want to hear about all those things used as selling points for releaseS that never made it into the game.
Left out of the game is wrong, but there are some things they hyped massively that barely had any use at all, i.e. the Personality system.
Also “you can wear any armour you see an NPC in.” – Nope.
Mini games too. Where’y my Polymock?
But were those actual selling points for releases (which would suggest pre-release additions)?
To be fair, until this is actually implemented in the game, I see no reason for this thread to go away. Far too many things, including things that were used as selling points for releases have quietly never been put in the game.
I would love to hear examples of all those things used as selling points for releases that were never put in the game.
I
Guild Wars 2 on the other hand does really poor job at selling useful things:
And yet Guild Wars 2 does make enough money in order for ArenaNet to avoid a rather massive layoff involving all other studios owned by NCSoft.
100 pb + 50 skillpoints for that skin?
)……even if u sell it at 70g u still have no profit…on the contrary.
U guys at anet sure are funny sometimes
… next time if u want to copy D3, please make proper skins :P
You are aware that
1: The item have been in the game files since release, which was rather long before D3: Reaper of Souls was even released
2: The prices of Powerful Blood and the selling price of the complete item is completly based on supply and demand and not something ArenaNet sets,
right?
The profession skills talked about in the link refers to the F1-F4 skills.
They changed how stuff is unlocked.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Level_rewards
Air at lvl 13 and Earth is unlocked at 17.
Ye, but Anet has an economist…. He most likely graduated from the Univeristy of Phoenix or DeVry lol
University of Maryland Baltimore County actually.
They only count if you give the wrappers to the Skritt in the old Black Lion HQ in Lion’s Arc before the event is over.
There are multiple things in the game that are guaranteed rewards for doing certain things. So clearly they can (and have and most likely will) add more.
Anything that does more than one action per input is against the rules.
Welcome to ArenaNet! Cannot find a job because of your limitations? ArenaNet will hire those who cannot even work at Walmart!
Seriously what a decision making!
Well why don’t you get a job there then, since clearly everyone can do it and you seems to know how to do stuff so much better and make a better game?
You just gave a potential unauthorized person access to your account by supplying all the information needed to reclaim the account should it be “lost”.
Remove the mail and serial asap.
I am thinking something in Orr.
Can a mod or the OP update the original post (or title) with the quotes about this being changed based on feedback? Because people do seem to be rather unaware about it (since they don’t read the thread).
What makes you so sure they only have internal testers?
We actually know for a fact that they did (at least about a year or so after release) have alpha testers from the outside, which was proven quite clearly when one of them decided to leak quotes and screenshots from those restricted forums.
Well the problem is there is no content to earn the gold. Note I said content not mindless zerging or dungeon spamming both of which is not why I play the game.
Is it too much to ask to have fresh and fun content that you can earn gold from?
This whole gems conversion issue makes it clear this game is just being milked for as long as it will last.
The Labyrinth available right now is a rather good way to get rather much money and it is rather fresh and fun.
People seems to keep implying that they don’t actually ask anything before making changes but simply just do what they feel like.
They DO have alpha testers after all, so maybe the issue is more along the lines that those testers didn’t have a big of an issue with the change as the extremely overblown forums?
No, those that will be picked earlier will get best skins. The system will pick 1000 players (well, 1000 wrappers) at random (regardless if they are logged or not) and assign skins in order they were picked.
And apparently those 1000 skins are for both realms (EU and NA) together.
Yes that is how this system works, which is quite fair.
The system the poster I quoted talked about however would mean that those that logged in first after the drawing would be able to get the “best” skin while those that slept/worked/couldn’t log in would end up with the “worst” ones.
They didn’t listen to player feedback. They listened to review sites likes kotaku and tentonhammer. If they hadn’t received such harsh reviews on those sites nothing would have changed. So if you want to praise anyone go praise the people running those sites.
This would make sense, IF they didn’t announce the changes so soon after the articles turned up.
Changing things requires decision making and meetings, it is not just something taking 5 minutes and deciding to change it.
Another thing to keep in mind is that magazines that basically just work with sensationalist headlines in order to get a few extra clicks aren’t usually taken that serious by most smart people.
Usually one week before release, so on Tuesday.
It is possible that there will be a blog post today though.
Once more, would be better to have 38 pages of people congratulating Anet on the implementation of GvG and Guild Halls instead of 38 pages of people complaining.
Oh, but that won’t happen.
If it is something that people like they threads usually don’t even get more than two or three pages.
That is ..stupid. It should send ticket to winners, not weapons lol.
So basically those that logs in earliest after the winners are drawn will get the “best” skins? How is that better?
Aye, C is the most likely case.
I’m confused about whether there are only six winners or not….
Do you really think they would give 100 or 200 (otherwise unobtainable) skins to just one player basically giving that player a monopoly on that market?
Krall, you and Vayne to this a lot. If last year I gave you a chocolate chip cookie, and this year I gave you a chocolate chip cookie cut into a slightly different shape, does that make it a new and different cookie?
Nope.
But then again I was already more or less certain that the event would be more or less the same seeing as they TOLD US that seasonal events will mainly be the same year after year (and it was also the case in Guild Wars 1).
Gaile talked about new rewards. There are multiple new rewards available in the game, thus what she said is very much correct.
Quite irrelevant. People imply that there were no new things, which is quite clearly completely false.
The gems-fiasco should be corrected, now after 38 pages of forums pleas.
Regarding ArenaNet communication … no answer ever came.
Gaile, have you read this by chance?
You are aware that they have already replied and said that they will make changes based on the feedback, right?
This is good question:
How LONG is “soon” ? 1 week? 1 year? or maybe never ?
I would guess as soon as it is ready but at the latest with the next regular update (November 4th).
this is one of the dumbest changes ever. too obvious this is just for making money
Anet, please go back to the old system (it wasn’t that good either, but at least i could get exactly what i wanted) or add a button where you get to another screen where you can define the exact amount of gems i want to exchange for gold. i won’t get any gems until this is fixed.
To be fair they have already said that they will change it based on the feedback. So you are a bit late to the party.
I count that as different. But yeah, you can count this as well. You forgot: Alliance Battles, so I count 8, but you can it count 6 if you choose to put TA, RA and HA in one (it’s legit). It’s still a lot more than we have in GW2, right?
Ah true. I felt like I had missed something!
Aye, it is more than we have in GW2, but on the other hand GW1 was also advertised as a PvP-focused game, while GW2 was not.
- new PvP modes (really… 1 mode after 2 years, still). Remember GW1 had about 8-10 different PvP modes after two years.
Eh…
Hero Battle (removed now)
Team Arena, Random Arena, Heroes Ascent
Guild vs Guild
Fort Aspenwood
Jade Quarry
I don’t know about you but I see 4 different modes. Not 8-10.
TA, RA and HA were the same mode after Team Deathmatch mode after all.
“Everyone” have been done with Guild Wars 2 since before it was released according to some people.
Based on the actual game itself though there are loads and loads of people still playing it.
Indeed, good to see that it will be changed based on feedback (did anyone actually think otherwise?)
Not so good to see that this will basically mean that people will start raging everytime they don’t like something, since it is shown to work twice in a row now.
Before going to bed I ask again what were the rewards that you were talking for.
On the top of my head we have three new minis, a new outfit and multiple new foods with new effects.
Looks like the fix may be here. New update. Hope the graph is there, or coming soon.
Not according to the patch notes.
And to be fair if they are doing more than simply reverting it (which I doubt they would do) it probably takes a bit more time than this.
