The only evidence it will be the same is that every person asking that question is aggressively ignored. There’s literally no actual information on it anywhere from any source.
Yeah… except for this part of the official “what to come” announcement:
Later in October, we’ll be bringing back our famous Halloween festivities! Blood and Madness will be returning to Guild Wars 2 on October 21 and remain active until the return of Season 2.
Doubt it’s anything to do with Anet raising server caps at all.
The new World of Warcraft patch 6.0.2 (getting ready for WoD expansion next month) was released 2 days ago on US servers and yesterday on EU.
And that makes a grand total of zero sense seeing as multiple server actually went from High to Very High, which wouldn’t really suggest that people are leaving.
And even if they were their accounts wouldn’t magically disappear from the server just like that.
The problem is that there aren’t really any gold sinks in PvP and as such they can’t really add large amount of gold for rewards, since that would basically kill the economy.
Seasonal events in the GW universe have always been more or less the same year after year.
In GW1 we basically still have the same Halloween event as we had 5 years ago.
They also made it rather clear that they would build a bank of seasonal events during the first year or so and then focus on new stuff instead of having to take time off teams to work on new seasonal events every year.
Another thing to keep in mind is that when they actually changed the Halloween event between Year 1 and Year 2 people were raging like mad about it being changed.

Or maybe, just maybe, people simply moved away from the stacked T1 servers now that the Tournament was over, and went back to their former servers to avoid hour long queues, a bit like how it has been after EVERY SINGLE TOURNAMENT?
Nope, it is not an official email.
They never send emails like that. It is a phising attempt.

It is very easy to make a mail appear to come from a certain address without it actually coming from that address.
They might come back, seeing as they have introduced the Wardrobe now. But time will tell.
Most of last years Halloween did not take place in Lion’s Arch though, but rather in the Black Citadel. The only part that really took place there was Mad King Says, and that could still work out quite well, since he just walks around.
They have announced that Blood and Madness will return, and as such I would assume they don’t feel the need to put a preview up, since it, based on that info, is the exact same event as last year.

Clipping can be solved by PLAYERS THEMSELVES.
And yes, i would prefer to use those super easy to get transmutation charges of course just to avoid looking like a clown in their preset outfits.
So you would rather potentially pay more for the items? I have a feeling you might be somewhat of a minority with that view (yes I know transmutations charges are easy to come by but people have been raging about the new system since it was announced)
Would you prefer to be forced to use transmutation charges every single time you updated your stats?
And for some reason I doubt they lost money from “LOTS of customers”. People that likes the skin will buy it regardless if it is an outfit or an armor. Just like how people who doesn’t like it won’t buy it no matter if it was outfit or armor.
Well, since they basically said: “Blood and Madness will return” I would say it is a safe bet that it will simply be last years event.
The exact quote:
Later in October, we’ll be bringing back our famous Halloween festivities! Blood and Madness will be returning to Guild Wars 2 on October 21 and remain active until the return of Season 2.
That would suggest that 90% of the people reacting are unable to read simple sentences seeing as the post on Facebook contains this part:
“Horrorween”, the fan event, will soon be upon us, so look alive! Join Mad Queen Malafide and her loyal snowman Daniel Frozenwind on Aurora Glade, in Lion’s Arch, on Friday the 24th of October, starting at 7PM CEST (11AM PDT)!
How is it not clear that it was specified to the Aurora Glade server?
U can only get scared if u are from EU
NA can continue getting bored.
Or they can, you know, organize something as well?
Transmutation charges are very easy to come by both in game and in the gem store. I have used them freely and still have 146 left. I love mixing and matching my armor and frankly have become rather bored since no new armors have come out for a while. I don’t think I’d mind outfits, if they just alternated between releasing them and armors (maybe 1 armor for every 2 outfits released).
Oh I am well aware about how easy they are to come by, and yet we have had rather much rage on these very forums about how much the new transmutation system sucks and how it just forces everyone to spend real money.

If it was a solo run, how were you kicked? Wouldn’t that suggest it was not solo, since someone (at least two no less) would be needed to kick you.
The fact still remains: What can they do about it? There most be an ability to kick abusive people from parties.
I think the idea is so they can pick which piece of the armor they use. Not to use the entire set.
While true the issue still remains that they would technically have to pay every single time they decide to change their stats if they want to keep the look, and for some reason I think people would complain even more about that.
Do people really prefer the need to use 6 transmutations charges everytime they change/upgrade their armor in order to keep the look with them?
They have lost a bunch of people, but at the same time they are also hiring quite a bunch of new people, so I think it evens out or even ends up with a net increase rather than decrease.
Isn’t the whole point of playing a game just for the sake of playing? Or am I missing something?
And then they try to fight Kohler (or some other boss with a 1HK attack) and realize that you can’t tank a 1 hit kill attack.
Kohler doesn’t really have a 1 hit kill attack though. Possibly if you have no extra vitality whatsoever, but if you have at least some (via traits or accessory) you should quite easily be able to survive a bunch of the hits if you fail at dodging/blocking/reflecting it.
Based on the score-bars it does seem to be a rather even match-up tbh.
Need real other modes than conquest.
But how does that fix people leaving matches? Why would mode X suddenly not attract leavers, while mode Y did? Everyone knows that most maps in sPvP right now is conquest, so I find it very unlikely that they would leave when they got a map with conquest.
they need to improve hotjoin to encourage people to go spvp. getting 4v5 all the time which later lead to people leaving the team might not be a good experience for many beginners.
But how can they fix that?
They can’t stop people from leaving (even if they made it impossible to leave you could just disconnect your computer or close down the game).
They already have a system that punishes people for leaving games, and clearly that doesn’t really work.
You do realize that technically a ‘Full" server is not a full server, it’s an arbitrary number that has been set by A.net, it’s completely software related, as for the increase in data, the data that a particular account takes up is really quite miniscule, if not infinitely small to be insignificant.
It is impossible to have infinite amount of data.
Why would they bother having multiple clusters and so on if they could just (as you seem to imply) put everything on the very same one without any issues.
I would assume the caps are put there for a reason after all.
in 2013 they said precursor crafting is one of their major plan for the game but nothing happened not even word about it, whether they canceled it or still working on it, that is the kind of confusion and lack of communication i hate, the major plans for the game that change the game play must be at least discussed with the community /players for feed back and all.
other games have pts or play test server before they go live with major updates, while this game developers are silent about it for no reason in my opinion just making players confused about the future of the game.
Actually they told us well before the end of 2013 that it would not be added in 2013. They also told us this year that they would have to change their plans about it, due to the reward system being changed. So they HAVE told us what is going on with it.
Feature Packs seems to be planned for a couple of times per year. Those usually have rather large balance changes and such, so I wouldn’t think we get another one until early next year.
More or less every patch does however do slight tweaks and changes to professions even if that is not the major point of said patch. And those patches will most likely start up with every second week again in November.
No Halloween on the 14th because of the stupid WvW and pvp kitten. Might as well just give us living world 2-5 instead and never have Halloween.
If you want Halloween just go back to GW 1 as its been up all month.
Hm?
Both WvW and PvP stuff is over on the 14th, so I find it rather unlikely that it would effect it.
As for the second part that is just blatant lying. The Halloween celebration from GW1 started yesterday (11/10) and will run until next Saturday (18/10).
Afaik the “Ready Up!” show was created with the purpose of streaming the progress of PvP developement every 2 weeks, which is a pretty cool idea. We had 1 show about gamemodes so far out of 22 ready ups.
And would people really want them to show more or less the same thing over and over and over and over and over again every 2 weeks? Because it might very well end up being just like that. Not enough visible progress made to actually show new stuff/changes every two weeks.
You’re right, because assumptions are the best way to communicate with the community. These forums, I swear.
Countless
Maybe not. But yet people keep assuming that they are not working on anything all the time.
If we don’t have information about them not working on something while we do have information (although a bit old) that they ARE working on something, why should we not live under the impression that they are indeed working on something, seeing as that is the latest actual information we have?
How should they follow up on them though?
Saying: “We are still working on them”? I doubt people would find that enough. Why not just assume that as long as they don’t say anything, they are still working on it?
See? This is a great example as to why they don’t tell us anything until it is more or less ready.
As for the near future comment, that might very well be past already. Near future is not more than a few months after all.
And we HAVE seen new names that very well might be new PvP-maps/modes in the dat-file quite recently, so I would think they are coming quite soonish.
Bribe for people to watch a commentator look like he wants to shoot himself.
That doesn’t really make much sense, seeing as you only actually get anything from the buff by playing. If you are playing you are not watching the commentator.
They actually are adding new dynamic events now and then. As far as I remember every S2 episode have actually added new events.
They should do something like this to make us happier, even though they wont deliver half of what is promised.
Remember what happened when some of those things were changed or delayed?
Question 2: Because there is not technology today that can handle infinite amount of data?
But what makes you so sure it would be possible to modify the system in a good and easy way?
Spending weeks or months doing something because some people are too lazy to read a short mail is usually not a good thing. Especially not when there are actual issues that needs to be fixed.
Because the last game to focus on raids is doing great… oh wait!
Well at least the big guilds are going strong… oh wait!
OK, nvm.
Anyhow, if they introduce raids I will leave this game. I can’t event do teq or the wurm because people are beyond stupid so more “sorry, you can do this unless you find 100 players with an IQ above 0” is a total nope for me.
It is a rather large leap from introducing raids to focus on raids though.
The game does have Dungeons. Does it focus on dungeons?
The game does have WvW. Does it focus on WvW?
So you will simply leave the game if they add something that you can’t do, even if it will not really effect your ability to play the rest of the game in any way or form?
I think it was an entirely arbitrary and silly decision to make. Why make them expire? What’s the point? Also, it causes issues of its own, in that every reset night since the end of week 1 all the PvE players pour into our Borderlands to get their tickets/shiny skin and then will often idle there in indecision or until they time out.
I would assume they expire simply because the system can’t save multiple different amounts of rewards at the same time.

You won’t get those kind of emails if your account is actually punished for something (in-fact you will not get a warning before it either, it just happens).
It is phishing mails, make sure to not press any links in them.

Get with the times bro. Collections happened.
“Ping associated ascended accessory for the dungeon or kick”
To be fair you can get it without ever doing the dungeon and you can ping stuff without owning them.
So, it’s been almost a month since they release the “feature patch”.
And still we have the same bugs going on on the only real feature introduced with it.Let’s see if with the halloween patch they’ll be able to clean up all the mess.
Have you seen the code?
Or do you know what is causing these bugs and how to fix them?
Yes really, of coruse they will not take in party the guy who have turned off achievements… But that guy asked for privacy, and that solves his problem… You can have privacy.
Which basically creates the same issue with elitism that people want to avoid.
No, you are not.
Spending more money does not mean you have special status.
Privacy achievements are solved in a turn on, turn off button…
The idea is still solved..
Not really, since people would simply refuse to take people that did not have them visible.
It is also possible to join someone that already have it unlocked and to the content that way.
I seem to recall it being 24h first, 72h second and a week third time. But can’t find the source for it at the moment.
It might also depend on the severity of the breach. One could of course hope that it would be permanent the second time.
On the skill unlock thing you may have a point, but since it was released together with the PvP access kit I suspect it was implemented for those who didn’t have PvE to unlock skills as an alternative.
But I really don’t understand why the mercenaries would be an advantage. There were at least 2 but mainly 3 from every profession in heroes not counting Razah.
Indeed, 3 and 4 if you counted Razah since it could change.
With the mercenary packs however you could make parties that were completely impossible to create on your own otherwise though. Such as parties full with necros or a bunch of Rits. It is more the fact that you were able to get something that actually effected actual game-play that were not naturally available by paying. We have nothing of that sort of thing in GW2.
Ah, my bad. I was under the impression that the reason everyone was raging so bad about the increased sub-prices for WoW was due to them not actually releasing anything between expansions. Because that was what the complaints sounded like.
But would seem like the complaints were “only” due to having to wait more than a year between updates ^^ (last one seemed to be added in September last year).
The problem is that this a very paltry amount of new content after over 2 years of development. Anybody who doesn’t think so hasn’t played other MMOs.
Not if you also add in all the Living story parts.
Lets compare it to WoW for example, a game that requires you to pay monthly. Their last expansion was over two years ago. The next is coming in about a month.
And yet they have released very little content between those two.
