Krall Peterson – Warrior

Aye, seems like a rather weird change.
I suppose it is there to stop people from exchanging everything they have by mistake or something, or potentially to make the Gem to Gold ratio more stable.
Aye, seems like a rather weird change.
I suppose it is there to stop people from exchanging everything they have by mistake or something, or potentially to make the Gem to Gold ratio more stable.
And with almost 10 hours left until deadline no less!
I could swear they were every week regardless… I also fully expect them to bring back the Halloween themed outfits again (Witch, Thorn, etc.) from previous years, which would be included in a “today” update.
Nope, it is usually Living story —-- Cash shop —-- Living story —- Cash shop. Of course there might be some extra stuff released during the actual patches as well, but the usual pattern is every other week patch and the one that is not is gem store.
Given the time periods that relate to ANet’s business hours, Oceanic players will predominantly be asleep, and then at work, so the launch time doesn’t affect them.
Releasing the patch a few hours later for Europeans is the difference between playing it today or playing it after work tomorrow.
That said, where on Earth did the spite comment come from? I specifically said I wondered what the delay was… :S
The spite comment was from this part of your post:
Because I’m working on the assumption that they don’t want to disappoint the thousands of European players who have reasonable hope to be able to play the update today rather than tomorrow.
Which would be seen to imply that they are “delaying” it on purpose, which would be quite silly. If it was ready for release two hours ago it would have been released two hours ago.
Come to think of it… aren’t we due a weekly BLTC update from our favourite Ebeneezer Charr?
Nope, those usually comes the week when we don’t have patches and I seem to recall that all the Halloween thingies was added last Tuesday.
Just wanted to let you know it’s starting to get late here in EU. A real shame that we can’t play the update on the day it was supposed to roll out :/
I know you are in the US but maybe you could take EU into consideration when you roll our patches so we don’t feel like second class citizens.
So they should be forced to go to work at 4 or something in the morning just so that we can get the patch in a good time?
What about the people in Oceania? Should they also cater to them? Wouldn’t that mean that they basically have to release the patch the day BEFORE the release date in order to allow them to play it “on time”?
Because I’m working on the assumption that they don’t want to disappoint the thousands of European players who have reasonable hope to be able to play the update today rather than tomorrow.
Obviously it’s not an “official” delay, but given that they have the option of releasing it in time for players to be happy, or not, I’m giving them the credit of assuming they prefer the former.
What about the Oceanic players then? It is already the 22rd over there, and yet I have never actually seen anyone there complain about releases.
They are a company based in the US. They will release their updates around THEIR time schedule, not PART of the player base on a different continent. Simple as that.
You also seem to be under the impression that they are not releasing it early just to spite us, which is extremely unlikely. It is way more likely that it simply isn’t ready for release just yet.
Why are people talking about delays when there have never been a set release time?
And even if it is largely the same event as last year quite a bit have actually changed in the game and there might very well be things from Halloween 2013 that is simply not working with other changes made to the game since then.
It is just one in the afternoon over there right now, so they still have a couple of hours left of their work day. But I would guess it would be here within 4 hours at least.
Within the next five hours I would say.
I’ll take 440

This shouldn’t be a choice for the wvw developers but rather mandatory. Seeing how things they implement affect wvw first hand on a regular basis seems like a pretty important thing.
You are aware that a situation like that would mean that they would spend less time actually working on the game, right?
That’s fine. Then have the Battle Historian hold on to all of the rewards until the player picks them up. Is there a reason why unclaimed rewards needed to be discarded?
I would assume it might create issues with different amounts of rewards awarded based on placement and people switching servers and such.
And yet it was made quite clear outside of the game as well. So even if you didn’t get your mails (the screenies doesn’t really prove anything) the information was fully available.
One thing to keep in mind is that if they had used the mail delivery for rewards as earlier, you wouldn’t even have gotten a chance to get them if you for some reason don’t receive the mails.
The problem is that the JP doesn’t only take skill into consideration. People with bad internet or stuff like that will basically be mechanically unable to do it, seeing as you need very exact timing and a single lag means you will fail it more or less.
I am sure people would love to have a unique cosmetic item locked behind something that will be impossible for some people.
I am fully aware what they removed after year 1. And it was DURING the year 1 event I am talking about.
And no, Reaper Rumble was far from loved by everyone, people were quite negative about it.
Funny how things change so much over time, aye?
Oh, I seem to recall quite a few people complaining about how it was too hard or how it was too short or how it was [insert x reason here]
People do seem to forget how much rage there was about that very dungeon during the actual release.
I still don’t get why people are so surprised.
They outright stated during year one that seasonal events will mainly be the same year after year.
But I suppose people are only interested in what they said they would do if they change their minds about it?
To be fair the map have not even been available for 2 years but rather just 1,5 year or something like that. It was released in February 2013.
Scarlet has been dead for a while now, yet we still have Caithe chasing Scarlet’s shadow in TA. Wouldn’t hurt to turn Aetherpath into a Fractal and restore TA to a dungeon with three proper paths instead of two paths and a massive pain in the donkey.
Dungeons are locked in time.
They added the time wall there in order to push people towards trading. People have been wanting more meaning and ability to get money from crafting since release more or less.
With these new things it creates a rather clear market for crafters which makes this possible.
Add a “new” fractal boss where you have to fight the boss from (Insert recycled Living story instance here).
You make it sound like a bad thing.
You are aware that those added bosses were added due to community demands, right?
Why assume there will be a FOTM update at all? As far as I know they have not mentioned anything about it.
It could however tie-in somewhat well with Rytlock hanging around in the Mists I suppose.
Oh, I don’t know. I played on Underworld for quite some time, even after many of the guilds left.
And while true that the same guild might not be able to have one person per tower/keep having one player (doesn’t have to be a guildie) standing in there or at least walking between them shouldn’t really be that hard for any server with some sort of organization.
So a change that will force groups to split up and have scouts checking out towers and keeps in order to make sure that they can be defended?
Isn’t that basically what people have been demanding since release? A way to stop the zerg form just going from place to place and take stuff unopposed?
I for one think this will be a good change. Serious WvW guilds already have people scouting towers and keep so won’t really be that much of a difference.
Because I find the game fun. And that is after all the main reason to play games in the first place.
But that is just the issue.
When they release a road-map and something is changed/delayed the amount of rage and hate here is extreme. Because people see a road-map as a set in stone absolute promise kind of thing.
They have information as to when your account was compromised the first time. IF that happened before you stopped playing, they will roll it back until a point before that. They always roll back until a point BEFORE the first confirmed compromised access.
Well at first during year one they more or less said that they are building a bank of seasonal events that they can bring back year after year instead of having to build completely new one everytime.
And more recently we had the Coming up blog post on the official homepage which had this little part:
Later in October, we’ll be bringing back our famous Halloween festivities! Blood and Madness will be returning to Guild Wars 2 on October 21 and remain active until the return of Season 2.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/upcoming-events-in-guildwars2/
So basically the same as last years :S I called it.
Not really that impressive to have called it seeing as they outright stated it quite some time ago.
You’re trying to say people didn’t pay attention to a stream that hasn’t even occurred yet. Seriously?
No, I am trying to say that people complain about lack of information, when there is fully available information on the official site. The stream itself is quite irrelevant to the post I quoted, since he wanted a source for upcoming balance changes, which is quite clearly stated in the post I linked.
Halloween events in GW1 were hotly anticipated and generated hours upon hours of fun for a month. This two week deal is a sad comparison.
Why do people keep spreading these lies?
Halloween in GW1 have NEVER been a month long. At the longest it have been two weeks. And the first few years it was not even that.
Well, new Profession balance information is coming this Friday, and they are taking feedback on those proposed changes, and will use it to adjust them….so, there’s that. =)
Oh? Where did you hear this?
On the official blog.
Yet another great example as to why there is no point of them being more transparent, seeing as those that demands it the most doesn’t even bother looking up the available information.
Guildcraft is not its own game. Nor is giving access back just because you say you are the owner a safe way of handling things.
Serious companies have to make sure that they actually give access to an account to the actual owner, rather than first person claiming to be the owner.

I have yet to see a single game support that solves stuff instantly.
If it have been more than 72 hours, post in this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-older-Part-2-merged/page/19#post4114946
It is actually rather unusual for support of big games to solve an issue within 72 hours, especially if it is issues of this kind where there need to verify ownership and such.
I am assuming people simply started to spread out again after the Tournament, just like how they have done every single other tournament.
I’m finding it nearly impossible to play this game for five minutes at a time without getting bored after hearing this rumor and knowing that it’s not true.
To be fair they actually ARE looking for people for raid content. So unless they are working on a secret game that we don’t know about, it is very likely that it is for this game.
You are assuming that casual players are even aware of the silence though. The vast majority of players never visits the forums, nor do they check on Reddit and such. They see what happens in game and MIGHT read a bunch of patch notes now and then. But that is about it. They don’t really care about what the devs say or doesn’t say as long as they can play the game.
I love this game but if they dont add more to it, Black Desert can seriously take it down, and me with it
You mean just like how Elder Scrolls Online and Wildstar did?
What about those race-specific achievements though? There are multiple achievements that require specific races.
As for the “logic behind gender changes”: You are aware that it is fully possible to change your gender in real life, right?
They added “pve-stuff” for PvP because the PvP player-base demanded it. Simple as that.

The best way to make money from them would probably be going for the Heavy Crafting Bag and sell the materials.
But the Queen’s Pavilion was not actually released as the Queen’s Jubilee/Pavilion this time, it was released as part of Festival of Four Winds. Thus not the same event.
The talk about Halloween event though, is talked about using the EXACT SAME NAME as last year and they also were rather clear that seasonal events mainly WILL be more or less the same.
But they HAVE said that. In the very quote posted earlier in this very thread (and other threads)
When they outright NAME the event which took place last year I would say it is rather clear that it will be that event.
Or if I say that tomorrow The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers will be shown, will you keep assuming they will show something other than The Two Towers?
Last years event was called Blood and Madness.
They quite clearly state that Blood and Madness will be returning to Guild Wars 2 on October 21.
How is that not telling us that it will be the same event as last year? Or would they use the same name but change the event for some reason?
The majority of people I see speaking about Halloween in LA are reminiscing about the first year when the JP was in and the dungeon, reaper’s rumble, etc. and how they were so disappointed about how none of that made it into last year’s iteration.
While most of this is true the JP was very much available last year.
I also seem to recall people quite disliking the dungeon and Reaper’s Rumble during the first Halloween, which might very well be the reason why they didn’t put them back during year two.
Well, they HAVE told us that the event from last year will repeat.
Later in October, we’ll be bringing back our famous Halloween festivities! Blood and Madness will be returning to Guild Wars 2 on October 21 and remain active until the return of Season 2.

I do wonder why they should bother being more transparent when people quite clearly doesn’t even read what they do tell us.
