Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
They said in the next patch when the Living Story Season 2 hits live.
You are a bit late.
It is already fixed and no they never said it would be in the patch on the fourth. In fact they said that they would do their best to add it BEFORE that patch, which they clearly did.
Yes, the change itself doesn’t take long. But a developer can’t just decide to do it just like that. There are decisions that needs to be made and so on. So the total time for the actual change would be much higher than just the coding part.
But would people really be happy about it?
It would still be static values, there would still be certain values that people would want that would not exist and so on.
Why waste time (even if it is only a couple of minutes (which would not actually be the case due to meetings and such in order to decide which values to put in)) and change it instead of just focusing everything on getting the change that they told us they would do?
IF they simply change the numbers the amount of raging about them lying and not doing what promised would be massive, even if it was only temporary. Changing the values multiple times over a few weeks would probably create more rage and confusing that simply waiting until the real fix is ready.
As for the reddit thread (I am still waiting for the OP of that thread to post it here) it is based on information only obtainable by doing stuff that would get you very banned quite fast ^^
To be fair what you are talking about wouldn’t really be “pulling off amazing use of GW1 lore” but rather more or less completely changing GW1 lore, which people have been whining about them doing since before release of GW2.
Tying stats to trait lines was a horrible mistake. All it does is reduce the number of viable builds. Too late now.
Wasn’t that EXACTLY what GW1 did though? Tying stats to the attribute lines?
A small minority spends that kind of money on skins.
Now if they had 1 Million or more ppl (like at launch) pay the $100 for a new xpac. That would far exceed these measly few that spend stupid money to look pretty.
I for one would actually say that more people spend $100 on the gem store than would spend that one an expansion.
An expansion that is more expensive than the original game is more or less unheard of.
They are long term rewards.
Why should rewards only focus on people that play for a year or two when the plan for the game is to survive for many more years than that?
You keep talking about the “original business model” and yet you completely ignore the fact that the two week release schedule started quite some time after release.
Nor have they made any new adverts recanting their original claims.
C’mon a hardcore GW2 fan would not call this Halloween event NEW content. Yes S2 is starting soon, but it only has 5 episodes left. That is 10 weeks. Some where in there will be the X-mas event….hey which is old recycled crap from last year as well.
As dead as this game has become {evidenced by mega-servers and last month they offered free weekends to play …..TWICE} i would gladly pay $100 for a new X-pac comparable to the Day 1 map.
Hell, i would pay $100 bucks now to get the OLD GW2 back. They have severely watered the game down for filthy casuals.
Oh, so an advert is true until there is a new advert that contradicts it?
I suppose I should sue every single company in the world then seeing as I have yet to see a single company that have had a specific thing forever after it was first advertised.
I don’t think anyone on these forums would deny that I am a hardcore GW2 fan. Nor have I called the Halloween event new content. But according to quite a few people new items and rewards would be considered content, and as such there have been new content during this Halloween festival.
And after S2 finale we will most likely have S3 and so on. Fact remains that they release new content more often than the vast majority of other games in the genre.
The game is far from dead. Adding mega-servers simply made it easier to find people in all maps, due to the fact that some maps were usually quite empty, which is rather logical for a game with the high amount of maps and such available.
Free weekends is not a sign that the game is dying. Or are you suggesting that games that have constant two week trials are dying as well?
Squirtle obviously!
Actually the only time they advertised the whole new content every two weeks was during the time when there was new content every two weeks. So not really anything lied about there.
They are most likely also going back to the two week release schedule starting on Tuesday when S2 returns.
We also did have new content (depending on who you ask) less than two weeks ago with the added stuff to the Halloween festivities.
If you do want a refund you will have to contact support. Keep in mind that a refund will only be considered if you bought the game directly from them and within 6 months from now.
Ah, my bad.
You do however have the ability to get black lion keys from map completion. Black Lion Chests are full of these boosts.
The level rewards is the new leveling system indeed.
Just because you have not experienced or seen something does not mean it does not exist.
Fact remains that it is fully possible to get these “gem-store” boosts in-game quite frequently. And fact also remains that it have been the case since release and it have not changed the outcome of fights nor will it in the future.
The ones you buy with in-game currency don’t really matter as everyone can make them if they want. People are complaining because these boosters come from the gem store (which technically is their real money shop)… If you can’t tell the difference, I wonder who is the ignorant here…
Or from dailies.
Or from map completion.
Or from level rewards.
These buffs have been in game since release.
They did not change the outcome of fights back then, they will not change the outcome of fights now.
Mordrem have been attacking for a week or so at most I would say. Which would most likely not the enough time to capture and transport a infected minion half way across the continent.
Multi-boxing is okay. IF you only control one character with one command.
If you however do use programs to do several things with just one click, it is not okay.
You are a week late to the party.
You have also missed the fact that they are working on a new version that will fix these issues.
Are Dwarves coming back? :O
Ogden have been back since release. It does however suggest that we will get more information about the dragons.
If this works in wvw it would be absurd.
If rich players can get a permanent 5% damage reduction and 100heal/sec, it would ruin the roaming experience.
To be fair it have been possible to get that in WvW since release and if it haven’t ruined the roaming experience yet I doubt it suddenly would now.
It does seem like we might be travelling in time with the coming update though, so who knows, maybe we will see a bit of Abby after all? ^^
First half is showing what happened earlier in S2 second half is new ^^
Yes, the anti-toxin is quite bad in most situations.
But the other healing skills they added after that were quite useful for rather many professions. But I guess those doesn’t count for some reason?
Once again you keep talking about lack of meaningless skills, which just because silly when you quite clearly haven’t actually played and tried them. And no, not all expansions add new skills it is not even close to a requirement.
In fact adding new skills and/or professions/races might hurt a game more than it helps, due to issues with balancing and such.
Just look at Guild Wars 1, they never managed to get even decent balance over there due to adding new skills quite often.
We are talking about issues that have BEEN HERE SINCE RELEASE, none of the examples you have given have been here since release, ergo not really relevant to the discussion in question.
*"promised"
And no, other than the skills mention none have been added as of yet. Claiming they are non-impacting or non-build changing is incorrect though. At least the Mesmer one is very useful (haven’t tried any of the others).
Yes, more.
More.
Yes.
Oh, so when they don’t let us test things they are the worst company ever for not letting us test things, but when they let us test things they are the worst company every for wasting time?
Keep in mind how much rage and stuff we had about the NPE before people actually played it. Based on voices here it was the worst thing ever and would kill the game. When the update actually happened and people actually started trying it out though, most found it quite good.
There is no harm whatsoever in testing this over a weekend. And the fact that they actually put it up for testing instead of just simply adding it permanently is a rather good thing in my eyes.
Which is why it is great to actually test it. Then both the players and ArenaNet can see if it works or not.
The feature they want to add is something that has been in the game since release.
And yet they have changed the system around it, and as such it is fully possible that just copy-pasting the code back in might not work.
Ah, level 20 The formatting at the wiki can be a bit confusing.
Yes, how dare they do exactly what people shout about all the time? Letting players TEST potential changes?
The fact still remains that the forums are a minority of the player-base. And even that minority have constantly been shouting about being allowed to test upcoming changes. Now we are allowed to test upcoming changes and yet people are raging like mad because of it?
I would assume that they actually take time and make sure it actually works correct before implementing it since it technically have to do with actual real money and as such a big bug in there would hurt both them and the players quite a bit.
They changed how leveling works.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Level_rewards
The first time you get skill points from leveling now is a bulk of 8 at lvl 19.
erm ok jst a few to keep you amused.
zerk meta
pvp lack of content
condition in pve
lack of challenging content
lack of rewarding content
gem conversion
precursor crafting
zerg as the answer aka mindless and boring farming instead of fun content
that would be a great start!
That list is just that, a list.
It is also a very subjective list and not universal truth or seen as issues by everyone.
There is also a grand total of no suggestions on how to fix any of those supposed issues.
People keep shouting about all these massive issues that have been here since release and is not fixed and yet I have never actually seen anyone that have said WHAT these issues are and HOW to fix them.
Nobody wants to work in a sweat shop. It’s just some people are forced to do it, because they have no alternative. I’m pretty sure, they don’t consider it fun.
Of course there are people that wants to do it as well. There are people for everything after all.
And to be fair much of this post could be applied to more or less any work. You are after all forced to get money in order to survive and so on.
They might at some point, but I doubt they knew it when they brought the humans in. Why else would they place their own city and one of the kingdoms of the humans on top of a sleeping one?
I would suggest no one uses the workaround, seeing as it is very clearly an exploit.
The farm itself might not be, but breaking out of a map and getting access to a map that would not be accessible naturally definitely is.
amassing currency by repetitive simple behaviors at a very low rate, is not considered to be enjoyable for most people. Or else people would be signing up to work in sweat shops.
Which people quite clearly do
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
Heavy Crafting Bags I would say.
Do people really take the banter in the labyrinth as jokes?
I take it as a rather serious conversation between two people that despise each other.
And no, they don’t glorify nor joke about violence against women, quite the opposite I would say, seeing as we are made very aware that they are both mentally ill.
many years later the 6 brought humans to tyria and began teraforming and locking all evidance of the elder dragons deep in arahs vaults
This part doesn’t make much sense, because as far as we know the Gods did not actually know about the Elder Dragons at least not at the time.
This is a great example of how they can’t win.
If they add something that is generally disliked and does not remove it despite people clearly disliking it people complain about how they never listen to the community.
If they do remove something after people show their dislike it is just damage control.
It didn’t. People that wanted to get one will not be affected by this at all, because:
1) they won’t get the skin
2) this won’t affect the pricesThis is simply one more step in the “make a wish, and we’ll try to make it true in a way that will not make you happy” game Anet likes to play.
Of course it will.
Now it gives them a CHANCE to get it, compared to no chance before.
This is most likely not something that ArenaNet can help you with, but rather something you have to talk to Microsoft about.
It working in an earlier build does not guarantee that it will work in coming or current builds.
People keep shouting about how they only do outfits, when the fact actually remains that they have released more armors than outfits.
The laurel is daily bound, so if you have done the regular daily you will not get another Laurel from the Halloween one.
I am not negative. I am realistic. We have been told that seasonal events will mainly be the same year after year, and as such it is quite likely that they will be mainly the same year after year.
Last years Wintersday were more or less identical to the first year, without the spread out schedule.
And the fact remains if they were adding new things they would have done so already seeing as it takes time. Starting adding new things now is probably a rather stupid idea.
Wintersday will be mainly the same as last year. Now is already too late to change much of that. New things takes time to build.
Wait they are removing any indication of battle so the only way to figure out where people are is by randomly running into them and following the blob swords?
Is this the real life? is this just fantasy?
To be fair if we should compare it to the real life time there would actually be no way to contact the rest of your forces during a surprise attack, unless you have very sneaky birds that managed to fly away before they got killed.
Why do people keep talking about the D3 expansion?
This skin have been in the game LONG before the expansion was even announced.
