Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Well, you obviously haven’t understood what I meant.
You buy gems for $ -> change them into gold which means you create gold and then you add those in the GW2 economy -> inflation.
No gold is created in the exchange. In fact quite the opposite.
If no one traded their gold for gems there would be no gold to get for gems you wanted to trade for gold.
The problem with this is that certain large guilds wants instances to themselves in order to get all (or at least as many as possible) of their members to a certain instance. With this system it would be impossible to hide the fact that a certain guild is massing in a specific instance and as such it would be rather easy for leechers and others to join it.
Where did people farm before the chests were added?
Why is it not possible to just go back there, since clearly it was good enough 10 days ago.
I never claimed that.
I just commented on your point that removing White Swords would take a bunch of time and resources, when it most likely takes just as little (if not less) than changing the transfer cost/limits/whatever.
While the act of changing said things is probably not that hard, they would still need to spend time to decide limits, numbers and costs and so on before making said changes.
Removing white swords should, unless the code is very weirdly constructed, basically require commenting away a couple of lines of code. It would most likely not require any sort of testing seeing as no new code would need to be added and the white-swords indicators most likely aren’t vital to (or even interacting with) other parts of the code.
First of all the white sword thingy is scheduled for TESTING. It is not something that have been decided to be implemented permanently. People always seems to forget that. Which is quite funny seeing as people have always whined about how they never let us test stuff.
Secondly there is a rather large difference between removing a indication of something and forcing people to transfer to another server.
And even forcing people to transfer to another server won’t really be a real solution, unless they at the same time also remove the ability to transfer server and stops new accounts from joining servers.
Actual good solutions as in they actually solve the issue without punishing parts of the player base.
Yes, and yet very few actual good solutions to it. Mainly those that I listed as far as I have seen. And none of those are really a solution at all.
They KNOW that there are population imbalance. But they can’t just magically press a button and fix something.
What should they do?
Force people to transfer to other servers?
Close WvW during certain times of the day?
Lower the map-limit to 30 people per server?
cache it, DO SOMETHING, i should not have go through 4-5 screens to change bank items on 2 chars. GOD FORBID I FORGET SOMETHING ON ONE.
So you would rather have a 5 minute log-in screen every time you select a character?
giving advice on a subject they havent even thought or read about…. they saw title and just slapped their faces into their desk like 6 times….
But would you really prefer to having much higher system requirements (which would make it even worse in your case most likely) and lag due to bandwidth limits in order to avoid having a few seconds loading now and then?
To be fair without those loading-screens the game would probably require MUCH better computers than it currently does and even then it would most likely be quite laggy, due to limits of bandwidth and such.
And basically all those things are reasons for NOT going there.
Most of the player races are not humans, and as such, if they still have the same way of thinking as around the Ministry of Purity time most of the players would basically be killed on sight.
There is more than enough threats on Tyria (the continent) to have us fighting for years and it is quite unlikely we would suddenly decide to ship off to an island where most of us wouldn’t even be welcome before that is over. Much more likely that we will go towards Elona around the time we work against Kralkatorrik.
Oh, I understand the out of game reason for it.
But the IN-GAME reason? Do we have any sort of reason to actually go there from our characters point of view?
As of yet nothing have been added without an actual reason for us going there after all.
People do keep to bring up going to Cantha now and then.
But do we actually have any real reason to go there, or is it simply a case of: “It was in Guild Wars 1 so we should have it in Guild Wars 2 as aswell!!!”?
Illusion magic is purple.
Guardian magic is blue.
Death Magic is greenish.
Suddenly having completely different colors for those magics would make very little sense.
Your kidding right??? Or just ignorant..Veterans Day does not celebrate war, it honors those that sacrificed and served their country without these brave people none of us would have the freedoms people like you dont understand and take for granted everyday. When you excerise your civil rights, make sure to thank a veteran.
Sorry to make it political, but ignorance angers me…Also Gaile I believe our neighbors to the north celebrate Thanksgiving day as well
I said technically, because it is true.
Without war there would be no veterans and as such no one to celebrate, correct?
You also seems to feel free to assume loads of things about people which is rather sad.
One could of course also point out that the very same veterans that people celebrate might very well mean suffering and death for others.
Mord was not like Zhaitan, it had just awoke, so it didn’t have that much time to spread its corruption yet. But it had the ability to strike from underground, which we could not defend, so we should act fast before it could grow too strong.
Sure some research could be awesome, but we already spent quite a lot of quests on it, I think it should be enough, and the current info we got was all about the whole structure of magic, not really useful against Mord itself.
Indeed, it has just awakened.
What happened when the other Dragons woke up?
I would say it would be suicide to send in the army against an enemy that might very well more or less explode and wipe out the half of Maguuma without proper preparations.
We also have no clue how the egg will work (or if it even will ) against Elder Dragons, and that is something that we need to find out before just throwing it at Mordy.
I don’t imagine anyone would rage about it, JT. After all, no one objected to Pumpkin Pie around Thanksgiving in Guild Wars, right? And Thanksgiving is uniquely North American, after all.
But still, it’s not a holiday we have incorporated into GW2.
To be fair I would say it is a rather huge difference between a holiday that technically celebrates war and such and something that is basically a celebration of harvest.
I think we already spent too much time on research already and should take some serious action now.
And yet even with all that research hundreds if not thousands died during the attack on Zhaitan. Clearly we do need to know more in order to avoid such massive losses against the rest of the Dragons, otherwise there will be no one left after we are done with them.
I do wonder if we will use the egg itself to actually fight the Dragons or if it simply is the key to unlock more information about how the Dragons and their corruption works, which could very well turn the tide against them.
I believe those “shouts” are about non-story grinds like Legendaries and Ascended stuff.
In that case we should of course also take into account the title grind and such in Guild Wars 1, seeing as those gave actual skills and stats, right?
The fact remains that claiming that Guild Wars 2 is the most grindy thing ever and then referring to Guild Wars 1 is quite silly, seeing as both of them had rather much grind.
I am not saying it was grindy. I am saying that it required a bit of grind in order to access it, while Guild Wars 2 does not have something like that. And as such it is silly to refer to GW1 when shouting about how grindy Guild Wars 2 is.
Doesn’t however change the fact that it is required grind that forces you to go out of the standard “do a couple of quests to move on” thingy. Sure you can get it by doing quests (some of them multiple times, since doing every quest once does not give you enough in the case of the Luxons at least), but it would still require a bit of grind. More so than anything in Guild Wars 2 when it comes to the main storyline.
That’s only if your character was created in that campaign. If you came from prophecies then you didn’t need to farm ranks.
While it appears to be true for Nightfall (was such a long time since I played that campaign so checked the wiki) in Factions you are still required to get the 10 000 faction points in order to pass Befriending the X quests even if you were not part of that campaign originally.
dont really remember any grind in the main or any campaign really. In fact the first time my friends skipped a ton of crap.
In order to get past certain points in Factions and Nightfall you required a certain level of “reputation”.
Bugs that are easy to fix gets fixed fast and bugs that are hard and/or with no visible cause takes longer.
Bugs effecting many people or big part of the game gets higher priority.
Bugs effecting real-life currency and such most likely gets the highest.
Bugs that results in exploits are probably also rather high on the list.
GW2 doesn’t stand for Guild Wars 2 it stands for Grind Wars 2.
People always seems to throw this around, and yet this game have a grand total of zero required grind, while GW1 on the other hand had grind that was REQUIRED in order to even complete the main campaign.
Wow that dialog makes Caithe sound almost sinister.
Well she is Sylvari… and we do know that certain influences seems to be able to twist them quite a bit…… (No I am not really serious, although it would be rather interesting)
It’s fine
Well the thing is, i rather do some stuff that gives me 5 gold per hour, and enjoy it, than idk do stuff that give me 1 gold in 2 hours..
One thing is enjoying game, other thing is enjoying game while you are rewarded… we barely see that.
I don’t want to mention .. that i do Eternal Jumping puzzle 3x daily, and i NEVER seen not even one person in last month… I wonder why…hmm?
We are getting rewarded for enjoying the game. The problem is many seems to think rewards = enjoyment.
The thing with todays gamers is that they want stuff and they want it right now, rather than simply enjoy playing and then getting some stuff down the line.
Would it really be better if you got what you wanted at once and then had no more goal to work for? Why would you even bother staying with the game if you have already gotten everything you would want/need?
I am getting loads of stuff (and in extension gold) by simply having fun and doing the events in Silverwastes.
The issue is people wanting to get EVERYTHING right NOW.
I could easily get enough stuff to complete a legendary by simply doing events in SW. Sure it might take quite a bit of time, but it is fully possible.
Actually no.
Firstly it costs 800 gems.
Secondly the harvesting nodes are RNG as well.
They usually never issues refunds for buyers remorse.
To be fair the original Guild Wars game had very little to do with the actual Guild Wars as well.
In fact, we have more actual guild wars in this game than we ever had in Guild Wars 1.
Non native speaker here; what does barter mean? Trade? Are you talking about the bandit bags for 10 crests +80c?
Yep.
The only real issues with those are that they also drop gathering tools, which is quite annoying ^^
One thing to keep in mind is that you can barter for the Stolen goods stacks, and they do drop materials, including T6.
The main problem we will have in Crystal Desert is a massive amount of Undeads under Palawa Joko.
Mordy seems to have waken up due to the “attack” on the Ley-lines yes. It also seems like it awoke earlier than it was supposed to, due to it.
Oh yeah, in be4 the people saying we got Edge of the Mists… that’s not World vs. World… that’s a pve/pvd champion karmatrain.
And yet it was something that was created and tweaked based on what the WvW-players said and wanted during the closed beta of said map.
So maybe that is why we have a lack of big updates (because we do have updates)? They don’t find it worth spending time and resources doing something people say they want when it just ends up with people complaining about how bad it is and how it is not what was asked for (despite being created with the help of the players)
You are late to the party.
The amber chest farm have been fixed.
And even with that chest farming it was fully possible to get the bosses killed.
Normally I wouldn’t mind this. But 4 months is getting too long, I really hope this doesn’t happen again. We need something to keep guildies from leaving. Too many people was lost to ArcheAge already. And activity goes ridiculously low in the break months.
I think there basically is two choices though:
Shorter breaks with less content/quality
Longer breaks with more content/quality.
Would people really prefer less content with less quality in order to avoid breaks?
Keep in mind that most other MMOs doesn’t really release things more often than once every four months either. and we DO get stuff during those breaks (such as WvW seasons, Holiday events and Feature Packs).
It taaalks <3
According to the wiki this does NOT count toward Daily Gatherer.
If people want to buy it, fine, but I really can’t see the use. Is there really some game-spanning shortage of cloth that people need this? Although looking at the bizarre way that the low level crafting mats are worth so much more than higher level ones, maybe this is intended to try to re-balance those absurd imbalance examples like how cotton is worth so much more than gossamer.
Indeed. It is still a convenient way to get a bunch of low level crafting materials though. The daily gathering part was more to the nodes as a whole in the home instance, seeing as we have had the exact same thread every single time one of these were released.
Low level cloth items are harder to get due to scaling. High level characters usually don’t get low enough stuff to salvage into the lower tier materials.
There is nothing that suggest that spectral agony inflicts blindness. And just looking at one definitely doesn’t. Spectral agony is after all something they actively have to use rather than something that happens automatically by just being near them.
He could have seen the gods, or the Mursaat. Either way you’ll go blind.
There is nothing that suggest seeing Mursaat makes you blind.
On the other hand you might of course be unable to see them, but that is something different altogether.
What makes you so sure the issues is at their end? Just because other internet based activities seems to work fine doesn’t necessarily mean the issues lies with the servers.
I play sPvP now and then and I have never had any issues with rubberbanding and such.
True but it does get annoying when we slightly leave the area while fighting whatever that when we kill it then it doesn’t count towards the heart because we were just slightly out of the heart area.
But how would that be different with this system?
The area would still be the exact same size.
If you can see the heart in the top right corner of your screen, you are within the area. I would say that is clear enough.
Keep in mind that on April 28 next year it will be the 10 years anniversary of Prophecies release ^^
They are (currently) NPC only. Named Fleet weapon.
It is fully possible that they will be obtainable after the defeat/attack of Mordy in the same way the original Pact weapons were.
And yet your friend required someone to carry him through it.
If it only required the amount of skill you would expect from a monkey he would easily have been able to do it on his own, right?
yes, we are back with the biweekly releases
No, the next won’t be as big (contentwise) because they had a lot longer than 2 weeks to create this chapter.
None of their releases have ever only had two weeks creation time.
It is actually rather likely that most (if not all) of the remaining S2 episodes have already been more or less created already.
