Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Or these new raids that are supposedly in the pipeline…
That would suggest we would not see Rytlock again for months or potentially even years.
As far as we know they haven’t even started working on Raids yet after all.
That’s pretty cool. What are paragons?
I think he/she/it is referring to this: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hearts_of_the_North
Keiran Thackeray (ancestor of Logan) was a ranger, but after marrying Gwen (also ancestor of Logan of course), he became available as a Hero which was a paragon ^^
How was it loosely tied?
Fractals: Direct result of the election made in Season 1, also directly tied into the story of the main villain.
WvW: Main villains allies ran into the Mists and tried to establish a base there, we followed into the Edge of the Mists.
Dungeon: Main enemy have a secret base of operations/factory hidden in a dungeon, we head in to investigate.
How is those things loosely tied to the LS?
It is fully possible to do the exact same kind of connections in Season 2.
Keep in mind that we are getting a somewhat big PvP patch next week, which is also a Living Story Patch.
I would say that it would be a waste of development time and resources personally. Since it would take quite a bit of both and would most likely not be used by the vast majority of players.
With the current season only releasing Living Story patches and then feature patches. My biggest question is when do we get the next fractal patch. Or another non LS related content patch. Because only doing features and LS means they have essentially abandoned everything else.
Where do these content patches fit in in the current release schedule. And will we see them at all?
They can easily fit WvW, Fractal and dungeon releases into the LS releases. Every time we have had a major release for any of those it has been tied to a LS episode.
Fractals could for example rather easily fit in with either finding Rytlock (or if he gets back before) investigate what he found in the Mists and so on.
That is the main problem , they spend 3 months to make 2 hour content.. maybe they should focus in spending 3 months making content that last longer.. is what most people ask..
Maybe instead of a nice cut-scene video that takes 1 month to make.. we could have a new skill that takes 1 week to make.. to give an example
So what you basically want is content that you can grind over and over and over and over and over again?
Because that is basically the only other way. Content will still take time to create and it will always take more time to create content than it will take for people to complete content.
An extremely bad example, seeing as people doing cut-scenes (animators) does not work on skill (balancers and programmers).
Because that is not how things like that works?
If you buy a car today and in 6 months people buying the same car also gets a free stereo upgrade, you wouldn’t magically get it in your car free of charge.
While we paid more we also have had way more time to actually play the game and we have also have the ability to experience all of Season 1 Living Story while new players might never have a chance to do so.
The Charr seems to be Rytlock based on the hair and the horns. I wonder if we will see a corrupted Rytlock…
We do not know to where he could escape from the Mists though. Technically he could just turn up anywhere.
There is of course also the possibility that he might have been corrupted..
More specifically a kind of lost Charr chasing after burning sword.

So, apparently there are crab-like thingies that belongs to a dragon.
And could that be Rytlock in the background? ^^
To be fair it is rather easy to justify the being BL skins in lore.
Evon simply sold them to the Pact in order to help with the war against Mordremoth.
Sure they could open the two first worlds, but would people really think that would be enough? The only thing it would change would be instead of “Bring SAB back” it would be “work on SAB and release World 3 and 4”.
Why does it take so much longer for sPvP to make turn-a-rounds based on player suggestions and data vs the PvE side of the game?
Because sPvP changes needs to be fully balanced and needs to consider much more things than the PvE side of things?
Yes and most of those other characters are female.
Arena Net does have a bias towards female, it is not bad but I would like to see another likable prominent male role, Braham does not cut it and Canach is not important enough nor is he often present.
Are they?
Magnus, Evon. Rytlock, Logan, Canach, Master of Peace and Aerin are all male and indeed rather important and relevant.
Canach is just as important and present (if not more) as multiple of the female characters people count, so why shouldn’t we count him?
You not using the chat would simply strengthen the suspicion that you were a bot though.
The problem with them sending a PM to ask if you are a bot is that it would technically be fully possible to actually program something that would react to that.
And yes, bots can indeed dodge attacks.
They also rather seldom outright state what you get suspended for, simply because that information can be used in order for botters and such to avoid detection.
But why does gender even matter in the first place?
Would the game somehow be better if they switch the gender of Kasmeer and Majory to male? The stories would still be exactly the same. The writing would be the same and so on. The gender wouldn’t really change anything at all.
There are a rather large amount of strong male characters in the game as well, you simply seem to ignore them.
It would be easy, if you actively talked and such. If not it could be rather hard, seeing as bots are getting more and more advanced.
And indeed, it is rather unlikely (in-fact I would say impossible) that todays suspension was based on your activities today. But I am guessing you have been doing more or less the same earlier as well?
Well it could look rather suspicious from their point of view when the account in question does have a history of multiple people using it.
Of course won’t lead directly to a suspension or ban if they can’t prove it, but it might flag it. Especially if you are behaving somewhat similar to a bot (such as just walking around farming mobs for long stretches of time).
That could possibly be one of the reasons why they reacted as well.
When an account changes IPs all the time it might suggest that multiple different people are using it, especially if the account have been used by others than the owner before.
Well you have been “hacked” before, so it isn’t that unlikely that it could happen again.
They could only really notify (which I don’t really think they do actually) you if they could prove that it was access by someone other than you.
First of all: accounts don’t get automatic suspensions just because someone reports them.
One thing that might have lead to the suspension is that your account is in-fact being used by someone other than you, especially since you have been “hacked” before.
I am of course not talking about physically strong. But rather strong as in powerful, either politically, magically or physically. Or simple important.
While the biconics have more females than males there are other characters in the Living Story.
Canach comes to mind. Not to mention all the other male characters that we have seen and interacted with during the LS, such as Magnus, Evon, Master of Peace and Aerin.
I don’t think misandry means what you think it means.
You also seem to completely ignore the fact that during the Personal story most strong characters were male. There are also plenty of strong male characters in the game overall.
The story of GW2 seems to be written by an 10 year old. When LA got destroyed I was like: pff who cares? In GW1 it was like: kitten! Those kitten charrs just nuked our whole country!
Whoever wrote the story for GW2 managed to turn it into some kind of bad written dull fairy tale. And even classical fairy tales are better than the story here, they have real villains at least.
And yet back during Guild Wars 1 people were complaining about how much that story sucked as well.
Funnily enough back during the whole Scarlet hatered people where complaining about how Scarlet was behind everything and then referred to how Guild Wars 1 was so much better, when in fact Guild Wars 1 had more or less the EXACT SAME THING with Abaddon.
To be fair the area with the gas is rather clearly marked.
Exactly. Many people dislike Skyhammer, so maybe they decided to make sure they took extra time to make sure the same thing doesn’t happen again?
“they” are working on a new game mode for over a year now. I can’t wait to see the outcome of all this time to put a single map… It must be mind blowing!!! …. Or not…
How do you know it will only be one map?
You also have to keep in mind that it takes loads of time to get something that works in the game while also making sure it is completely balanced for both/all sides and around all profession and possible skill combinations and so on.
It is a rather large undertaking, not just putting out a map and changing some rules.
So it is a server issue, but it only effects certain people? Wouldn’t that suggest that it was not a server issue?
After 72 hours you can post in the thread supplied earlier.
Things take time, especially since they need to actually make sure that she is indeed the actual owner of the account.
Would you rather risk losing accounts simply because they should stress through tickets?
I also seem to recall (at least a few days ago) that it rather clearly states that there is a high number of tickets at the moment and that response might take some time.
I have personally yet to see a single major game support that takes less than 24 hours most of the time.
Seems like we might get to experience the first meeting between the Asura and the Sylvari (the lab-scene). Could be quite interesting.
That would also be a rather interesting way to explain how the Nightmare Court works/was created.
And? Season 1 lasted from January 2013 until March 2014, with plenty of breaks for seasonal content.
And people complained like mad that it took so long (one thing to keep in mind however is that the first few chapters were released over a couple of MONTHs rather than a couple of weeks.
They already told us that they have listen to the criticism and will make the new seasons shorter and more focused.
every time we ask about new games modes the response is “it’s being worked on”. Same response for years now. Is one guy doing all the coding on a apple II, while everyone else sips margheritas?
Or maybe, just maybe, it takes a large amount of time to actually make something that works within the game and that is balanced and doesn’t give one side an advantage?
Many times are a server issues, not players issue.
I don’t see why a player needs to be punished if many times the main problem is the server and not the connection.
Source?
If “many times” it was a server issue, wouldn’t that mean that EVERYONE would be disconnected?
No. They changed the calendar to be in line with the real world so it was indeed two weeks for the attack/retake of LA. Anet shot themselves in the foot with the calendar changes, let them live with the consequences.
Wasn’t that change more to help add logic to the seasonal events though?
We do actually know for a fact that several thing that took weeks in the game were in lore done rather swiftly. Such as the destruction of the Marionette and the Battle of Lion’s Arch.
They did add a bit of a story on tumblr (I think?) about a company in the Battle, and that makes it rather clear that the city was retaken rather shortly after the initial attack.
What do you mean the dragon will awaken at the season finale? Mordremoth is already awake hence why everything is going to kitten with his minions running about.
Unless you meant the egg.
It is very unlikely that it is fully awake.
They can create and control minions even without being awake though. A great example of that is the Great Destroyer and the Destroyers in Eye of the North, which were minions of Primordus and yet Primordus didn’t wake up until rather many years later.
If it had woken up, we would have seen some sort of catastrophe most likely.
Everybody is getting that same feeling. Something major has got to happen!
The main problem is that not everyone wants the same thing. So who should they listen to?
Everybody has Asc gear. :s
I got to admit, some interesting points & answers from all of you.
I personally have very little ascended gear, despite playing more or less daily.
Two weapons (one on each of my two mains) and accessories and rings on both of them.
Not a single back-pack or armor piece though. So no, not everyone have them.
Based on the massive amount of rage when they added a slight (more or less insignificant) stat increase for a rather grindy set of gear I would say people overall playing the game would not want more of it.
I didn’t say clear definition. I said that it clearly does have a definition that would be against the Naming Policy.
As in: It does have a, easily found, definition that would be against the naming policy.
It doesn’t really matter if it is 2 million people or 100 people that uses that definition. The fact that it exists and takes less than 1 minute to find with a swift search is more than enough to validate not allowing the name.
All I ask is that they diversify their design a bit.
Right now it’s a lot of open world content. I’d love if they would give us something with a little challenge, give me another lupi!
I realize those that want that higher level of challenge are in the minority, but they are still there, giving us a bone every now and then isn’t too much to ask for is it?
Like the Triple Wurm and the Tequatl update you mean?
Or high level fractals with the Mist Instabilities?
Okay, so the issue was Gubby then, which clearly does have a definition that is not allowed by the Naming Policy.
You simply seem to have decided that you are right and everyone else is wrong, so I really don’t see a point continuing this discussion.
I also checked out close results to Gubby, and the world grubby is quite close to that. Which can mean that they simply read Gubby as a potential way to avoid the filter since the combination of grubby and huggles is not very nice.
Definitely. I just quit. Again. Every time, I get a group of friends starting GW2, but we always stop playing it after like a month because we’ve already done everything in the game. Trust me, I love GW2, but I just can’t push myself to play it anymore.
Oh, you already have all Legendaries, collected all (obtainable) mini’s, completed all collections, filled up your wardrobe and completed every achievement in the game then?
I never said I never heard the word before, I said that I have never heard someone with that NAME before, which is a rather major difference.
Might I inquire (just for information) why you choose that name for your character in the first place?
Technically they don’t really need to have a reason at all in order to ban a name or an account, but since there actually IS a definition that would go against the Naming Policy I really don’t see why it is such and issue.
And yet it is very clearly a definition used by people (I personally have never heard of anyone with that name, so it is most likely rather uncommon), and as such it is fully logical to not allow it.
Guild Wars 2 forums is not a dating site.
I would say the fact that the highest voted definition of the word on Urban dictionary is what it is would be more than enough to not allow the world. Since quite clearly that is a definition that exists.
Jerry on the other hand is a rather common name, that most likely existed long before the supposed definition (it is also a name used for Germans during WWII for that matter).
It might also simply be the use of Gubby in combination with Huggles of course.
It is very unlikely that a second restoration would be allowed. If they allow it for some they would basically have to allow it for everyone.
Maybe. One thing to keep in mind is that it was in no way or form released with replayability in mind and as such they would basically have to remake most of it in order to get it to work.
So if it will happen it will be a long time in the future.
