Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Lazaar, I dont believe it launched at the same time, I was around when it all happened. But even if it did, Wintersday is an entire other beast, ANet takes a break for the holidays.
Exactly, they (and basically every one else in this line of business) takes a break during the holidays. And as such it is very unlikely that they would not release the finale of season 2 BEFORE that.
It would make very little sense to have a break and then have just one more episode and then another break after all.
And if it was indeed going on a break I am rather sure we would have heard by now.
Will you take back all your rage and shouts if it turns out we will get Episode 8 on the 16th?
Remember they usually do a 3 month break after the holiday’s. So if we don’t get it in 2 weeks it most likely will not come until March.
Usually?
That have never actually happened.
Last update in 2012 were on December 14th. First updated in 2013 was on January 28th.
Last update in 2013 were on December 10th and the first of 2014 was on January 20th.
You are aware that making them longer would mean it would also take much longer to create them, right? Which would mean even longer breaks between episodes/seasons.
I personally find it rather clear that while the Living World heads toward the direct attack on Mordremoth the Living Story heads towards the egg and its potential uses against the Dragons.
All in all the ultimate goal is the assault on Mordemoth.
But do we really want a story that just goes from one issues to solution and the repeats for the next thing?
That is seldom how stuff works in the real world after all, usually there are multiple things that happens and needs attending at once.
I also think it is a bit early to claim that plots were put aside. At least until we have reached the season finale, since I have a feeling that most if not all of them will be addressed or at least advanced there.
Until we actually hear that there will be a break, why not assume that it will follow the two week schedule?
Every time there have been a break they have told us so when the patch before said break launched.
I hate cliff hangers. This is why I prefer expansions over living story. No cliff hangers except maybe for a future main story.
So instead of having a cliffhanger that will be attended to in two weeks you prefer to have cliffhangers that till be attended to in two years?
Check this stickied thread:
No significant progress?
I would say going from checking out Bandits in Brisban to basically be ready to attack an Elder Dragon is rather massive progress.
I have played multiple games with test-servers.
All of them have had just as much issues with exploits and bugs as Guild Wars 2.
There might be a gap between the ending of the free unlock and the release of the new episode.
Try buying it again after the patch goes live and see if that works.
My speculation is since we are getting 2 pieces of the carapace and luminescent armors in both episode 7 and 8, that they each will last one month.
So episode 7 to launch tomorrow, Wintersday launches on the 16th, episode 8 to launch in January.
I personally find that rather unlikely.
Because that would basically mean a month (or more) gap between episode 7 and episode 8, with much pointing towards episode 8 being the season finale.
It is rather unlikely that they would have a few episodes, a couple of months break, a few more episodes, a month break, a single final episode and then another couple of months break.
Have you missed the fact that we will get a patch tomorrow that does address these things?
Also this:
I’ve played 3 games today, and spent every game afk in the base bored.
just makes you a kitten.
Season 1 was never part of the Journal.
They might add it in the future but it would take loads of time since it was not built around replayability.
That wouldn’t really work with the Living Story system seeing as that would basically require them to do x amount of variations of every single thing which simply isn’t really feasible in an MMO, especially not if you want releases more often than once every second year or something.

Remember when they added a map with rather little things to do on it?
Yes i am fing forced! I’m not that great with certain classes but i still want to play and not be a burden to people. Team queing alone is even worse than SQ. It makes no sense to put a cap on it kitten , it’s kittened. At best.
What if I don’t want to PvP at all? Should I get progress in the reward tracks without doing it then?
The reason they added the cap was simply due to how easy it would be to abuse it in Hot-join.
I’m sorry but…continue? Focuses?
Yeah…sure, it’s mature all right….
I would say the story and setting of Guild Wars 2 is indeed rather mature.
It was confirmed in an interview in which a staff member (probably Angel…) said that an Asuran scientist/astronomer/whatever recently discovered that everyone had been wrong and that Tyria actually has the same number of days as Earth… What a coincidence…
But that doesn’t really confirm that the flow of time is the same. Especially not since we KNOW that several things didn’t take as long as real life time.
We already know that it will mainly be the same.
Just like last year.
Just like they told us.
Sad thing is with no new content I will very likely be playing a different game that provides new festival content each year, I am sure I am not alone in that.
So you would rather have them focus on new releases twice a year (or whenever there are festivals) than having releases twice a month?
@everyone saying people who bought multiple sets would complain:
So?
I never got a refund for the multiple sets of tier 3 cultural armour when the wardrobe came out and unlocked the skin for everyone.
I never got a refund for the second commander tag I bought when they were per character.
They’ve already got a history of not refunding squat after a QoL change.
Did any of those things cost gems (aka potentially real money)?
No? So apples and oranges then.
The newer mobs are indeed smarter and are working together and actually utilizes their skills in a good way.
Wouldn’t that however be the case whenever they gave out the prices? There would always be some people that were unable to ensure their place at that specific time.
I suppose what you can do is making sure that you are as high up on the list as possible before you leave.
Indeed, it was made available at the merchant as soon as you completed the Mastery Achievement, not after the next episode was released, so you would still have to do the achievements if you want the signet.
I am rather sure it was said somewhere that a human and a Norn cannot reproduce.
Yes, all except Edge of the Mists.
Have they ever actually confirmed that? I keep hearing people saying that, but I have never actually seen a confirmation for it.
It doesn’t really make much sense either, especially since we know that several of the releases did take much less than the two (or four) weeks they were available, not to mention the time between Season 1 and 2 and the mid-season break of S2. It is very unlikely that it was several months between the attack on the Grove and us going into the Silverwastes after all.
Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that maps could (and in most cases are) locked in time.
That is not what she is saying.
Overloading is quite different from giving us some cutscenes.
Maybe?
One thing to keep in mind is that we don’t really know how long time have passed (in-game) since those things were destroyed. And right now basically all resources are focused on attacking in the Dragon rather than rebuilding stuff.
The Wintersday Patch should be the one on December 16th.
Would there be much point banning a hacker without finding out and plug the hole he/she/it used though?
^ Not to mention genocide, experimenting on sentient beings, torture and so on
I remember this game, it came out in 2005, where you had 8 skill slots, but you can put any skill in them. There were elite skills, but you weren’t forced to using them. And skill slots weren’t level gaited. I loved that game.
Oh, I also remember that game. It was so extremely unbalanced at times that it was basically possible to not even pay attention and still complete most stuff.
I also seem to recall said game having attributes and such which were very important in order to make skills useful, those attributes were tied to level.
But sure
I am fully of aware what the OP is saying. That was not what I commented about however. I commented about those of us that have bought multiple of these items just because we didn’t want to change between characters.
Changing the system now would create issues with that and would take time and resources to fix, just like when they went from soul-bound to account-bound.
And have yet another issue with people having bought multiple copies of them?
There is nothing at all that says Rytlock is in the past.
Well that is just the thing though. There are limits on how many people there can be on a map. And as such it would make sense for guilds organizing certain maps to actually focus on getting their guildies in before taking every random person that sends a whisper.
It is rather common for a map to get full when it is organized even without everyone in the same guild being there. And as such it would make rather much sense for the organizing guild to not invite PUGs and instead try to get all their guildies in. Why else would you bother joining the guild if you still won’t get a spot because 10 PUGs got them instead?
Doesn’t really seem like it based on them shouting about how everything made by Disney is childish and such
How is that elitist though?
Anyone (as far as I know) can join the guild, so just join it if you want in. Especially since you can join multiple guilds.
I personally (on EU) do the event with PSDH, which organizes both Wurm and Tequatl multiple times per week, and usually manage to get Wurm down.

Yes I know that it would still be just as meaningless. But would people be as quick to point it out?
I wonder if people would have claimed how meaningless it was if GW2 was not in the lead.
People are aware that recent Marvel movies were made by Disney, right?
1) Because otherwise people would basically have enough stuff to get everything that can be bought in the new map within a couple of minutes after release?
2) I would assume that in some cases that is because they are planned (or already are) used in Crafting or MF recipes, which doesn’t work that well with currencies.
How is it misinforming?
The Digital Deluxe editions is the Heroic Edition PLUS some Deluxe only stuff. The items themselves ARE from the Heroic edition, but due to the fact that the Deluxe edition is a Heroic+ edition it would be rather silly to not have them included.
Yep. After all those additions, there is no reason for making pact weapons something related to BLTCo.
What would you rather they put in the store?
Well, to be fair before going on and raging at the developers of the game it might be a good idea to actually check what is going on rather than assuming it is their fault.
I am quite certain there is not a single thing in the game called Glint’s Challenge. Nor would event completion/failure effect the reset time of instances.
I would say it was simply a troll. But I suppose taking a chance to complain about at ArenaNet was much more fun ^^
Yes, definitely.
Here are some pictures for you
The first image is how the Buy Guild Wars 2 appears now.
The second image is how it used to appear during promotions, and the final image is one of said promotions.
It is without a doubt that the miscommunication occurred in the changes after the employee who was in charge of said designs left the arenanet team.
So basically if they had changed it to say Digital Deluxe Heroic Edition there would be no issues? Or what is your point?
