They seriously need to get a new person who is in charge of the release schedule.
So.. when they did tell us Episode 8 was the last episode? You never answered that.
They said that “The Dragon’s Reach: Part 1” (episode 4) would be followed by a mid season break. so,episode 4 would be halfway through the season.

“The Dragon’s Reach: Part 1 will be the penultimate fortnightly Season 2 release before the Living World goes on a mid-season break.”
Taken from http://massively.joystiq.com/2014/08/12/guild-wars-2s-living-world-mid-season-finale-launches-today/
“The Dragon’s Reach: Part 2, launches today, opening a brand-new explorable area within Dry Top and adding PvP perks. Says ArenaNet, … The launch brings to a close the first half of this current living world season; the storyline will resume “this fall.”So 1 more episode and that will be the end of season 2. If season 3 will be like season 2, then the season 3 will start at the start of July…
It feels like anet isn’t even trying to give us an ‘expansions pack’ worth of content, they aren’t even matching the amount of content that other games are producing.
Mid-season does not have to mean the exact middle of a season. Just that it happens between the start and the end.
People keep saying that there is only one episode left, where is that confirmed? People have speculated on it for quite some time, but is there any actual confirmation that Episode 8 will be the last of season 2?
They seriously need to get a new person who is in charge of the release schedule.
So.. when they did tell us Episode 8 was the last episode? You never answered that.
One can of course also question if you really want a potentially rather large patch released in a situation when most issues would not be fixable until people get back from the holidays?
They’ve already said it was the last episode of the season.
When?
As far as I am aware people have long ASSUMED that there would be 8 episodes, but I have never actually seen ArenaNet confirm (or deny) it.
Actually I would say that the fact that they do put this small break here would suggest that either Episode 8 is NOT the last episode or it is big enough for them not wanting to risk putting it out just before most of the employees go and celebrate Christmas with their families.
Yep, indeed it will be taking a break, quite surprising.
I would say it either means that Episode 8 is not the last episode, or that episode 8 is so big that they do not want to drop it just before most employees go home to celebrate Christmas with the family.
I tend to visit WvW at least a couple of times each week. You claimed that there had been absolutely nothing for WvW for 2,5 years. Which is quite clearly factually incorrect, as seen by the very list you quoted.
The fact that they are not exactly as you want them does not mean they were not added. It just goes to show that the players here usually don’t have a clue about what they actually want.
Last teaser was posted around this time.
Really? Which one is that?
Haven’y played WvW for a couple of months.
What we gotten is stuff what ppl did not ask nor want. EoTM is not wvw its karma train map it dose not count for the real wvw at all.
Adding the number count to que should have been there since day 1.
“new ways to fight and defend.” wtf is that The kittenty new trap what no one wanted dosn’t even count progress even slightly.
We have gotten stuff people asked for. You might not like it and it might not have been in the way you wanted it, but the fact remains that it was added as a direct result of feedback on the forums. In-fact it was even fully possible to join beta-testing of said map in order to make sure it was what we wanted. And it did change based on that feedback as well.
Just because something should have been here since day one doesn’t mean it wasn’t added.
The traps have actually changed the way to fight and defend quite a bit. Not to mention the WvW abilities.
This just goes to show that people don’t actually know what it is they actually want.
No it wouldn’t.
It would basically just mean that people with enough money could decide what to add to the game. Giving people the ability to decide what is added and not based on their money is never a good idea.
Nope.
It is a phising mail. Do not press any of the links.
ArenaNet will never send you mails like that. They will just suspend/ban you.

So, that’s why they decided to do absolutely nothing for almost two and a half years??? If they only listen the players suggestions, that means they have 0 vision for WvW, players suggestions are here to help Anet not to show the path.
Yes the players suggestions are mixed, but that’s only because Anet failed to give the same this players direction for they suggestions, by not sharing anything with us, how we can focus our suggestions if they don’t give us something to focus on?
Either they don’t know what to do or they not even trying to do anything, take a guess.
Why do people always ignore all the changes/additions to WvW when they talk about development?
Claiming we have had absolutely nothing for WvW is blatant lying.
We have gotten changed borderlands.
We have gotten a progression system.
We have gotten additions to said progression system.
We have gotten a completely new map.
We have gotten a overhauled queuing system.
We have gotten new ways to fight and defend.
All these things have been added based on feedback of the players. Claiming that is absolutely nothing is ridiculous.
People always seems to be under the impression that everything can be solved by just throwing more money at it. That is rather often not the case.
Another thing to keep in mind is that based on these forums alone there are many different suggestions and several of them goes against each other. So which ones should they go with? Which ones are even possible to do without basically rewriting the game?
This. This would be pretty amazing. Talk about opening up the pop.
Talk about also completely destroying the whole game-mode. With people being able to create unlimited free accounts the amount of trolling, griefing, flaming and just plain bad behavior would increase quite a bit.
The game is balanced around 5v5?
So I assume massive zergs in WvW don’t mean anything?
And Range, sure, yet by that logic everything is pointless. I just want it here eventually, it’d be great fun.
Yes, the game is balanced around 5v5.
That is also why it is fully possible for a massive zerg in WvW to be repeatedly owned by a much smaller group as long as they know what they are doing.
Why should people that like the less liked maps never be allowed to play on those maps though?
Yes sure, a multi- million $ company will try new things just for fun and see if their playerbase likes it or not. Are you kittened, they shouldnt fix stuff that isint broken just for fun .
Are you new to the game?
Because if not, you would have been fully aware that ArenaNet does indeed test out new stuff quite often.
The game is balanced around 5v5.
Making sPvP modes larger than that would either require a total rebalance or would make said mode very unbalanced.
Why is it so hard to group up people based on ranks 1 – 10. So if youre rank 10 you will only get grouped and fight against people from r10 – 20.
Is it the lack of actual people playing spvp – tq that this can’t be done ?
Because rank have a grand total of nothing to do with actual experience or knowledge of sPvP?
This thread is not a complaint about courtyard, its a complaint about the game not ending if the opponents all left or do not leave spawn.
But indirect it is complaining about the map. A map that you most likely voted for (based on your earlier statements). This could not happen on other maps after all.
No, not everything is dirty. But a quickie is a rather common term when it comes to certain activities.
Interesting enough the OP in this thread did tell us in another thread that he/she/it actively votes on the map that he/she/it knows is the least popular just to annoy people. So yeah, probably shouldn’t complain all that much
I wonder how many times we have seen these kind of threads and how many times the posters have actually left.
That is because people like me always vote for the least popular map possible to see all the frustration if the map gets selected.
I sure hope you will not be one of those that complain when stuff you dislike doesn’t get changed then, seeing as you quite clearly helps with the metric that shows that people want to play it.
Keep in mind that they would probably find it easier and be more willing to help if you described the situation in a calm and clear way rather than the passive-aggressiveness we are seeing here.
Keep in mind that CS is people. People can’t do unlimited amount of things in a limited amount of time. The game have potentially millions of users and more than you might have issues at this time and as such it will take time for them to read, check and answer tickets.
I have seen rather many people vote for it. Doesn’t really prove anything. But it will indeed be a rather good way to show how many people actually vote for it, in the long run.
Another fun thing is that people seem to rage like mad about how bad Courtyard is here on the forums, and yet every single time it has been possible to vote for it more than half of the players in-game have actually done so.
Yeah, except that the “hype stream” were rather clear that it was not a case of “this is coming” but rather a case of “this is what we are currently testing out”.
Just making a “tiny location with a couple of objectives” is harder than you would think.
But even after having chosen one they still need to build it, which would take time. They can’t just copy paste the code from Guild Wars 1 (in-fact I would say most of the modes from GW1 wouldn’t really work in GW2).
You seems to be under the impression that they have worked on the exact same game-modes and maps as they did when they showed us those pictures. That is not how an iterative process works. They test out things, if said things doesn’t work as well as they want, they scrap them and move on to another idea instead.
And yes, Courtyard is a great example as to why they shouldn’t stress out new game-modes but rather make sure it actually works well in the game first.
Some stuff was datamined 2 months ago, though. http://imgur.com/SedSZIh , http://imgur.com/WDiywjl
However, I’m tired of waiting and empty hype.
Would you rather they released maps that were unbalanced or simply didn’t work in the game?
No, it is not. It’s so unclear I don’t even get how you could get to such conclusion.
Because the stone in question was part of the VIP-package in China.
Adding it into our version of the game in another way would suggest that the VIP package is not coming here.

I think what he is asking is why you didn’t add the the new code you bought to a new account rather than the old terminated one.
People shouting about how this took resources away from other stuff:
This was something already available in the code and used in the Chinese version, so basically no resources were needed to implement it here.
Well she is a mesmer, so it would make sense that she could do mesmer magic.
See, this is not how logical people think, you can’t just assume that something will happen until it’s proven otherwise. That’s like saying, well they haven’t said that precursor crafting WON’T be in the Dec 16th update, so until we hear otherwise, it will definitely be in that patch.
If we operated by that kind of logic then we’d have to assume that unicorns, bigfoot, loch ness monster and all of those were fact until otherwise proven not to exist.
We have information:
The Living Story will be released every other week.
Until we hear something else (such as information about a break) that information is the correct information and thus we should base our assumption on said information.
What makes you so sure that they don’t all works toward the season finale (which should be the next episode?
Long-term teasing is rather common after all.
While the PvP experience isn’t the same as PvE, PvE still makes you learn the mechanics of your profession and how the game works as a whole.
Indeed, you can make your own team, but that doesn’t mean the other team would have done the same and it is just as boring to have completely new players in the opposing team seeing as the match will be way too easy and thus boring.
Thats genius, he probably also has to talk to the npc to get into the games……
This is honestly sad, for me its even too much that we need to finish the tutorial. Why cant we just go to pvp after we skipped the initial video scene??
Because people got tired of people that have a grand total of zero knowledge about the game running around in ranked match and destroying it for everyone?
The fact that it actually is possible to get there if you know how it works is a rather good compromise I would say.
I like the game, but it could be a lot better.
A lot of the systems they talk about, especially with the world, is pretty much either impractical or ridiculously hard to implement or mostly both.
Also, a manifesto is basically what you are declaring something will be. So them saying that and almost doing half is very… meh.
And also, if no one posts anything about these “pointless” things, which is pretty much everything in the collective eyes of everyone, we wouldn’t need a forum.
And yet most of those systems are in the game. Maybe not as you thought of them, but they are still there.
A manifesto is a declaration of intent. A declaration of intent is basically a plan. Plans can (and should) chance when more information becomes available.
People HAVE been posting it over and over and over and over again. People have already seen it. There is no point to keep spamming it.
This is the game I waited for for years. This is the game I beta-tested.
It is not the game we have now.
You must have beta-tested a completely different game then. Because the game that the rest of us beta-tested was quite similar to the game we have now, with quite a bit of improvements thrown in.
No, we don’t.
Especially not since people overall is fully aware about what a manifesto actually is and have also checked out the other bits of information that was released soon after said video and long before release.
Why get that people don’t like the game, but why not just move on instead of posting pointless stuff over and over and over and over and over again?
Ah, well, so much for speculation:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-December-2-2014/first#post4601721“Fixed a bug in which water splashes appeared on terrain in the Silverwastes.”
But maybe the bug was that it happened earlier than it was supposed to?
This lock almost killed pvp for me.. although i like everything else of the changes.. the fact that we get LOCKED in hotm is unacceptable.. waiting 10 15 min without been able to do anything… will kill PVP slowly.. unless you really enjoy the trash talk going on in the map
10-15 minutes, really?
I have NEVER had to wait longer than a 5 minutes to get into a match, no matter what time of the day I have tried. 10-15 minutes sounds extreme.
Since they also have added the flashing to the program with this change it is also fully possible to just tab out and do something else while you wait if it is such a big issue.

“For there will be nowhere to hide when the shadow of the dragon envelops us.”
Looks like Mordy might be starting to make a more direct move soon.
I can understand that there were improvements that could be made to the matching algorithm but did this require also the merging of SoloQ and TeamQ. Not sure how this was supposed to help but it surely hasn’t.
I am sure all the work on the algorithm is worth it just restore SoloQ as an option. Most major issues improved instantly.
The shortest version of that story is that we believe there is more value in having an unranked place for people to play. Part of that choice includes the fact we can now modify the servers much more easily and make changes faster.
That does mean we’re ignoring what people are saying about solo vs premade.
There you have the real post.
Nice try tough.
The issue with the whole multiple minis in Guild Wars 1 however was that someone could get lucky and get a mini that could basically sell for more than you could ever spend while others got minis that were basically worthless.
There still is one more Tuesday (the 9th) before Wintersday, so let’s hope the next LS episode will be then.
If that was the case we would already have had teasers for it.
They have also never had releases two weeks in a row.

Well, the devs read these boards, why not let a dev clear this up? Oh ANet devs, what be the verdict on this?
Because if they do people will whine about them only ever posting in irrelevant threads instead of posting in those threads that have “legit” questions? Like every other time they have posted in threads like these.
There is nothing that suggest we will not get the next living story chapter on the 16th. If we would not get it by then the devs would already have told us so. At least if we look at the past (which people love to reference when they complain).
