I have spent the last 3 hours trying to find an NPC named Snrif who is located somewhere in Metrica Provence, north of hydrone unit way point at the end of the lake. Obviously, without success.
I was under the impression this was connected to a heart but I’ve done all the hearts in the area that I can find and still cannot find Snrif. Any help would be appreciated. Wiki no help at all.

It wants the States abbreviation. If you put the full name it will do that.
That is just lame. I’ve worked on databases before and you can set them up so that they recognize both.
That is odd. I wonder if someone forgot to add that state to the list when the database was created?
This would explain why I’ve not gotten credit for being involved in defeating these vets for my daily.
Why add a daily requirement, then bug the ability to obtain credit to meet the daily vet defeats?
AhA….I discovered this very issue with my arrow animations for my Ranger. Does not matter which attack is used, if I am running forward or strafing, I see this happen ALL THE TIME.
Annoying but at least I see damage on my targets even if I seem to be aiming off to the side. Do wish they would fix it, but other bugs in the game I’ve seen really are worse.
Yes, can we please fix this? Not only can you not invite, but you also can’t kick. Party management is impossible in WvW. Is there an ETA on this fix?
I just found out over the past week that whenever someone in our party leaves the game without leaving the party, our leader of the group goes out to the Mists and kicks said character. Once that has been done, she is able to come back into WvWvW and invite a replacement.
I never knew there was a problem before since I rarely play WvWvW, so thought to offer this info in the hope it would help some of you. I do hope Anet fixes all these irritating bugs but there are worst ones in the game that I understand they are working on in priority order…so I am being patient.
Thank you for the reports, everyone.
We’ve been hearing about sporadic reports of lag leading to disconnects, but they’re all on different maps and different servers. If you can let us know which server you’re seeing this on, in addition to the map name (which most of you have included) it may help us track down the root cause.
Thanks again; we hope to get this nailed down soon!
Jason, are there any data files that players can submit to help you with this? I found several files in my GW2 program folder that were dated and about the same time of this issue. ArenaNet (text document); Crash.dmp (dmp file). If any of these can assist in helping you, who would I send them to please.
Those Asura certainly know how to rock to the dance music. Interesting place… but I would be more interested in why the character can just walk through fences and walls like that.
Server: Yak’s Bend
Location: WvWvW area – Stormbluff Isle map
Date/time: Feb 7 approximately 9-10pm EST
What happened: I was in a big fight at one of the supply camps between us and defenders when all of a sudden my map just froze. A box popped up in the middle of the screen that said something about reporting some sort of error thing to Anet.
When I clicked on the submit button, a secondary screen popped up but the game closed down and I found myself looking at my desktop before I could even read what the box said.
Because the game client completely closed down so fast and I had no time to really see what was being asked, just adds to the mystery. Fortunately or not, I at least clicked a submit button so something may have been forwarded to Anet technical group.
Whatever happened? I have no idea. I’ve never seen that before and hope not to see it again. But whatever caused it is still a mystery. I was able to log back into the game and continue playing without further issues.
Is there some way I can provide any data that might shed some light on this?

I have not seen any response to previously mentioned requests for vision difficulties assistance that has been posted periodically in this forum. It is extremely difficult for folks who have vision limitations to interact most of the time to things in the game because of poor setup in the looting system.
I ran across this post and feel it points out a problem that NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED for those who have no other option.
I’m visually impaired (blind in one eye, poor vision in the other) which makes the game difficult enough for me as it is, I’m already at a disadvantage.. most of it because of how dark a large portion of the game is. Now I can’t even see some of my loot.. seriously. If the chests are sitting on a ground texture that isn’t really brightly or vibrantly colored, they aren’t visible to me at all unless I crank my gamma way up and that makes the rest of the game incredibly ugly. Not to mention, I prefer to play in windowed mode so it isn’t even possible most of the time.
I just can’t see them unless I stand there for a few minutes carefully combing over the ground like I’m looking for a needle in a haystack. It’s barely even worth it because I’ve never had one of the chests contain anything but blues and whites. Could you please change the chest color? Or get rid of them entirely? I’m not even sure why this change was made. I have the same problem with wvw bags, but even those are more visible than the chests.
I really hope this gets fixed and people with below-average vision don’t get shafted the way the color-blind did. They begged for changes, too, just so they could play the game like everyone else. Just a UI color changer, or AOE ground circles in a more visible color. They got nothing. Also, folks who can see them just fine? Good for you. But not everyone can see so well.
What I discovered is if you make sure who ever you are sending mail to is on your friends list (does not matter if a guildie or not), just make sure you right click their name and chose “send mail,” then drag and drop what you want to send to that mail.
Otherwise, yes, who ever is standing right in front of you gets the goodies. I’ve had this happen a couple of times before I realized this trick. Do wish they would fix this problem tho.
Just add some form of sparkle effect to the chest for better visibility. Next to that make it so chests will only spawn if they contain a rare or exotic item. Leave the vendor/salvage trash on the corpse.
No need for all these chests getting your hopes up if they mainly contain crap items that are going straight to a vendor anyway. So changing the behaviour of these chests so they only spawn if they actually contain something Rare or Exotic and giving them greater visibility by adding a sparkling effect would work out a lot better in my humble opinion.
I agree that this would make more sense. Tonight when we finished AC path 2, as I was getting ready to leave the area, I noticed a “chest” sitting on the ground where the boss just despawned. Sure enough, it was mine and I would not have noticed it had the body not disappeared so quickly.
I actually thought it was a pattern on the floor for a moment. However, when I opened it, I got One Item that was blue. No coin, no yellow or orange, just a lowly blue item which, of course, my ranger was not able use.
I think it might have been a shield…but was not fast enough to take a screen shot to verify it. Whatever blues I got tonight, I just salvaged since they really are not that great or profitable to sell on the TP.
So I agree that redesigning them and restricting what they actually hold to yellows or higher, is a great idea (maybe even greens…depends on level I think).

Oh that is Priceless!!!
Oh, how hilarious. Perhaps the devs decided to add levity into this portion of the game for us. I’ll have to see that myself. Wonder if anyone else noticed it as well and perhaps video taped it. Would make a great comedy gig.
Humor from the player base is always a welcome relief. I am constantly amazed at the spriteness of spirits inside all gamers.
As a relatively new gamer myself, I am finding great amusement here.
…and I’m okay with that. Actually, I’m kinda glad. I’ve been doing WvW on and off when I was bored and just didnt feel very successful at it. Today I came upon this guide: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bw2TnwV1r2mpNzFNRDZwakV2SFk/view?pli=1
I read though it and it finally hit me. WvW is not the game I want to play. I always thought it was about large scale PVP battles. Well, its not. Its about a complicated set mechanics and strategies. And that’s cool! Its just not for me.
I’m pretty sure I’m just a PvE player that likes to dabble in action packed PvP. I will likely just fill my PvP itch in the PvP bouts rather than WvW. I’m a little sad that less complex large scale WvW or RvR isnt in my future, but at least I know now to avoid it rather than take up a spot in the WvW queue and fail miserably at it.
So, what is your take on WvW? Does my story sound familiar? Have I got it all wrong? I’d love to hear your $0.02.
Oaken, that document link you put in is unavailable to me…and apparently some other folks as well. If I understand how Google Docs work, you have to have an account and be signed in for access.
Is there any other way you can provide that information?
Sir u got messed up by an ent warrior.
Oh this is priceless!!!
These are just my opinions after playing the game since beta and some ways I feel GW2 can be improved.
Pros:
- Fun Whimsical Tone (dialogue, characters, objectives)
- Beautiful Artstyle
- Beautiful Characters
- Interesting unique combat goals (no trinity)
- Dodging
- Quaggans
Cons:
- Not enough weapon skill variety (few weapons are effective while others feel not effective at all)
- Not enough effective utility skills (per cooldown / damage / practical in game use)
- Not enough effective build variety
- Too many high risk monster abilities with little margin for mistakes
- No motivation for leveling
- Dungeons are not challenging or fun
- My character doesn’t produce any real change in Tyria
- Enemies are very 2-dimensional and not interesting
- Very disheartening rewards (horrible drop rates, no sense of achievement in downing bosses, etc)
I would like to keep this constructive so I’m going to point out some very small adjustments that could impact this game in a huge way.
First of all, as a gamer I feel communication in ANet is lacking among themselves and to their players.
- Example: Multiple times I’ve seen red posts completely contradict with other red posts, then corrected a few days later only to be totally retracted a month or two later.
I have no idea how difficult developing a game is, especially an MMO, but when I, as a player, get suckerpunched (so to say) with off the wall game adjustments or look forward to misinformation, that really falls on the team’s poor communication not only to the gamers but also amongst their team members.
How to fix it: I feel if everyone on the ANet team (even the little guys) were on the same page with changes and focused on priorities for the game it would reflect so well to players in general.
You may be closer to the truth of the matter than you realize. For that matter, the pattern you outline is endemic of poor upper management communication which filters down erratically. This also tends to indicate very poor management of the business, which can lead to failure or extreme loss of capital and investment. Typically this causes a lot of issues within any company and tends to sabotage their overall company mission.
Failure to maintain a healthy customer base, and eventually losing market share overall, is a malaise of a poorly structured and haphazardly run organization. It is critical that, for any company that wishes to succeed in business, they must maintain clear and concise communication and well formulated plans of action for the entire entity, not just those few with the ability to make the decisions.
Decisions are easy to make, but hard to carry out successfully, if you do not have the entire company team on board within the structure fabric of your vision. Cohesive organization between company departments is critical if the overall product is to be successful.

I didnt mind the amount of risen, they were no problem..it was the spawn rate time that bothered me.
/…groan… please don’t get me started on that insane spawn rate timer. THAT was freakin idiotic.
Chest image may need to be made more visible.
One thing I’ve noticed happening a lot more, is the dropping of a small brown wooden chest. I got one off a Vet just yesterday and nearly fainted, that is the first time I’ve seen a vet drop a chest like that and that is an 80 (Which is probably a 150 for how many times it has rolled over) a 60 and a 30. One chest from a vet.
Today, I’ve seen 3 more of these chests, I swear I haven’t seen them prior, if I did it was extremely rare. Is this the chest they were alluding to dropping on Vets/Champs?
I honestly don’t understand why you made this change. These chests are often hard to see (and easy to miss) because they’re tiny. What was the problem on looting the corpse of the mob?
Anet may need to improve on the image of this chest, however, because yesterday afternoon in Wayfarer Foothills, a chest dropped off a vet from the “Protect Linnea as she hunts for the yeti” event. I was unable to interact with it but saw it sitting there right after the Vet image de-spawned after being defeated.
Two things came to mind:
- It was someone else’s chest and they failed to see it, or
- It was mine and was bugged so I could not interact with it
Either way, I think the way it is not showing up very well is problematic. Now I know what I am looking for, I shall be keeping a closer look out for them.
I suspect what happened was point 1 above and that player just did not see it. The chest was underneath the body of the dead vet and it was only when the body disappeared that I actually spotted it.

I think the changes to Orr have been excellent. Perhaps now add a few different events to change up the pace there and it’ll be gold.
I agree. A few guild mates and I ran through the Cursed Shores area last night to help one get the map open there, farm the plants and metal nodes and actually get involved with some of the events to finish out our new Dailies. Instead of dreading it, we had a lot more fun than expected.
Did Grenth the other night and was expecting to get blown to bits from what everyone was chatting about on the boards here, but we didn’t wipe at all, and it was actually a lot more fun than before. I dig it
We also got involved with this event as well. I remember the only other time I ever did this event, I spent more time defeated and running back from the way point to try and help out so the event would not fail.
Last night, however, I was actually able to help a lot better. I have the extended distance on my long bow and it came in very handy. I was able to help keep the NPC alive from all the shadows that kept spawning. But we had a very good group in there and managed to do a great job defeating them and the priest.
All-in-all this area has been improved. I actually like how the changes have affected my ability to be effective in my ranger build now. Before I had a lot of problem because of the density and insane CC of those mobs…so much so that I stayed away from it once I completed the map.
There is no such thing as player or account specific random loot rolls/odds. It’s the same for everyone, only magic find can alter your chances.
But, MF does not work on my character. So I started playing without it and my odds increased a very little bit?
I started getting a lot more of those porous bone drops than before.
Would be great if the market was there for porous bones…but not.
…another thread has been discussing the loot issue.
Check it out here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Share-your-data-about-perceived-strange-drop-behavior-here/page/22
According to Anet posting they can find nothing wrong with the loot issue.
So if I understand this correctly the developers say nothing is wrong – yet I can not get any loot.
So I give up – what a shame as I like this game apart from this.
Good luck to everyone who stays and plays – but this is it for me – uninstalling myself and moving on – oh and making sure all my friends don’t make the mistake of buying this game.
/sigh I agree with what you are saying. I am sorry the game is turning out this way as I truly am enjoying the play but not fun any more. Especially since, contrary to what they told us, game has turned into a major “grind” if you want decent gear/weapons.
But I must admit, there has been a big improvement in the quantity of mobs in Southsun and Cursed Shores area. I no longer get nailed to the ground unable to play in those areas. I ran through Cursed Shores last night with a guild mate and we actually were making good progress; whereas before, we avoided the area because we could not go 2 feet without being nailed/controlled then downed/defeated.
I’ll see what happens with this next month before I move on to another game.
Just wanted to give a quick update on this topic. We’ve completed verifying every update from the november release, and there were zero changes to anything what so ever that would have negatively affected loot in any way/shape/form. We can officially confirm this as an X-files level conspiracy at this point.
We’re in the midst of evaluating every loot table in the game and running massive random roll evaluations table by table, as well as evaluating every system game wide that causes a player to qualify for items to determine if any issues exist in those systems from launch.
Will update again when we have another round of concrete information.
Thank you for the exhaustive investigation, and the update.
While I do still feel that drops were consistently much better for me prior to the November 15th update, I suppose that it could have simply been a run of good luck followed by a run of bad luck. I’ve seen a slight improvement over time since then. However, I very rarely receive drops at all from veteran or champion mobs, despite the patch notes saying that they should always drop something worthwhile. And the number of rares I received seemed to decrease, rather than increase.
If it’s not a problem with loot tables, or character/account-specific data, or anything like that, is there any possibility of it being an issue with how kill credit is awarded? I was told at some point—and this may be wrong, as I heard it secondhand—that kill credit is calculated according to individual damage done, and that a character has to do a certain percentage of damage to a monster to gain a loot roll, even if they get EXP from the kill. You share that percentage with people in your party, which is why players get far more loot in a party when lots of people are attacking the same targets. If huge numbers of people are attacking a single target, it seems to be possible for the percentage needed to gain a loot roll to become impossible to reach for a single person. That’s annoying, but understandable; loot credit has to be calculated somehow.
However, kill credit has behaved oddly at times since the start of the game. People (including me) have had issues with participating fully in an event only to get bronze credit or no credit. During the karka event, some people got full loot credit for all the karka slain, while others got little or none. There’s a recent issue some players are having where they’re unable to get loot credit for dragon kills.
I don’t have any hard data, and wouldn’t know where to start in collecting it, but from my personal experience with kill credit wonkiness, it seems like it sometimes reaches the limit of what it can manage in deciding who gets what and skips over some people randomly. I farm a lot in Cursed Shore, where it’s easy to see the difference between farming in a party and farming solo; it’s the difference between tens of bodies laying on the ground with loot to collect and the game acting as though you didn’t touch them at all.
In short, is it possible that we’re perceiving “nerfed” drop rates, and Champions and Veterans dropping nothing, because whatever method is used to calculate loot credit simply can’t account for every player that hits a given enemy?
What about a character solo play? How would that account for the folks who solo those champs/vets and still get zero drops or just trophy porous bones?
Colin has a duck on his head, yet nothing we say can convince him that he has a duck on his head.
lol
Well, that settles that I guess. We’re all just delusional. Everyone go about your business. Nothing to see here, folks, move along. The case has been solved, you see. Mission accomplished. Job done.
yea old Jedi “mind” trick here I see…
Colin did NOT mention the difference between “BEFORE” and “AFTER” the Nov patch; just since that patch. So my opinion still is: there is a big difference between prior to/after the November patch.
Well, it appears nothing will be accomplished. Someone mentioned earlier in this thread about a “red Herring?” If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it must be a duck….lol
All illusions aside of course.
I don’t drop an exo sonce the dtart of the game. And i’m serious.
Hey there Kangaroo…are you perhaps from “down under?”
I ask because my mum was from there and I visited Australia while still a teenager. I loved the county. Wonderful folks and great outdoors….
I see a few folks here and there from down under who play when I do and some are in my guild. Great going…!!!
@lynspottery: It is clear there was an issue introduced with that patch, but there is no acknowledgement that there is even an issue.
Well today I have seen DR kick in in the quickest time ever. DR kicked in only after killing 19 of the same thing, I was getting drops about every 2nd kill, then from around the 19th kill on, nothing, zilch, nada, zero. I was in this area last when we had kill variety for daily but only killed 1 of that type of foe.
So sorry to hear that….but you are not alone. I have given up on expecting decent drops any longer. I think my account may have been “Bugged” since I seem to see such horrendous drops on any of my characters.
It is really sad this is happening. I am trying to hang in there, but if it continues, I will probably move on to another game soon. Anet obviously does not count me as a valuable customer.
someone closed the door?
argh…another “bug” unfixed…
I just bought the 60$ game and when I opened the client it downloads some then it just disappears any help? Thank you :p
You may need to go here for help:
Well, if this is accurate, then it explains why I’ve not gotten into the battlegrounds at all this evening.
I received an email supposedly from The Guild Wars 2 Team guildwars2@ncsoft.com via returnpath.bluehornet.com
BUT, I do not recognize this return path. Is this a scam?
This thread has 22 pages with at least 1051 posts. This all seems pointless now because I made the assumption – erroneously I might add – that Anet wanted data to figure out a “perceived problem” which apparently they and their own testing team do not experience. However, the title of this thread “Perceived Problem” seems to indicate that we, the players, do not see it correctly.
Even though the “Game Update Notes – November 15, 2012” indicated under the title “Items” that there would be positive changes to the game for loot drops, it apparently did not occur.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Game-Update-Notes-November-15-2012/first#post808152
Here is the wording of that:
“The drop rarity of Rare and Exotic weapons from certain places in the world (champions, veterans, and players in WvW) has been increased. Rares and Exotics should be much more likely to drop and every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot. This was to ensure that world loot drops were not a significantly worse way of acquiring rare and exotic items than crafting and running dungeons. "
As for downscaled drops, here is what was posted:
“The amount of loot that drops for downscaled players has been increased. You should now be able to receive level-equivalent loot until you are fighting at a downscaled level that is less than 2/3 of your actual level. You should also receive loot a greater percentage of the time as well as receiving a greater percentage of experience, gold, and karma. For level 80 characters, this means level 55+ areas will be able to drop level 80 gear and give about 75% or so of the other rewards. Previously, these areas would give level 77 gear at best and closer to 60% or so of your rewards. "

I have good news and bad news.
Good news: I think I found the issue, somehow there were 2 copies of the door, which could get out of synch. (So one door thought it was closed, blocking entrance, even though the visible door was open.)
Bad news: I don’t expect the fix to go live until the next major content update, at the end of the month.
That is interesting, Jeffrey. What a great time for your bot team to use this opportunity to catch unauthorized harvesters in that area…bots who harvest under the map. Should be mighty helpful in that department until the fix goes live.
Simple fix would be to have all deadlines based upon the server time, not the player’s local time or his pc’s time set.
I don’t think higher tier salvage kits make any difference for getting ecto as ecto is technically not a crafting material, despite being stored under the Rare Materials heading in collectables (if you look at ecto it is tagged as a “Trophy” which should logically make it exempt from the higher chance at rare mats given by the better kits).
Out of my last 10 rares I think I only managed 5 ecto.
The salvage rate wouldn’t be that much of a problem if they hadn’t created such a huge ecto sink without adding a balancing supply (I refer to the 250 ecto needed for the capacitor, 500 if you want the costmetic second upgrade for the shiny).
Used to be able to buy a few to supplement the salvaged stuff, but now it’s way too expensive.
You’ve actually pointed out the main problem, major supply need vs poor supply pool. The amount of materials required for most high end items is totally out of the ball park based upon the limited availability of the mats required for said items.
Anet indicated early on prior to launch they wanted us to play the game the way we want to play and for it not to be a grind. Well, in my humble opinion, this statement has not been followed or someone made the decision to ignore it altogether.
Wondering what and why is not going to help anyone. Anet, from what I can tell, just does not provide adequate information/communication to the playing community. Which is contrary to what they have been espousing.
So, draw your own conclusions and you might be close ….or not.
../sad… I really wanted to believe what they told us to begin with, but every month I’ve played things changed and did not seem to be the same as what was advertised. Do they have a different advertising script that just does not even reflect the actuality of the game? I wonder.

How’s this for perception. Near an hour hitting karka as I searched for ori (congrats on killing the nodes, even less reason to go to a zone you must have worked hard on. sure ain’t going for a plain node guarded by a champ, bank on it) ZERO shells. But I was overjoyed at a blue spear and TWO bits of crab meat junk loot. THAT will sure act as a reason to go back.
Your commentary brings to mind my foray into the Southsun area late last night with my new lvl 80 ele. I asked for some back up and two of my guildies so kindly came along to help me. I wanted to get most of the way points so that if things changed in the area all 3 of my high level characters could get there with little problem.
The Ranger guildie who joined me early on wanted to farm for karka shells, so I went along to help out. She is very good with her bear, so I used a combo of fire for dps and water for healing…we did have fun, but then I always have fun when I run with guildies no matter what it is for.
However, for that half an hour while waiting for our other friend to show up, all that dropped were:
Ranger = 1 karka shell, 4 pcs of crab meat and 2 spiral trophy shells.
Me (Ele) = 6 spiral trophy shells, 1 blue lvl 78 spear (which I cannot use), lots of “nothing dropped” (figures, this is the story of my loot drops recently)
Well, we at least broke even on the total amount of drops but not on what dropped.
This is really a nice area now that you don’t get pinned to the ground every 2 feet any longer. It does appear the karaka have been thinned a bit, but still as a light armor wearing ele, I cannot do well farming without help.
I die way too often to make up for the loot I do get. Cost of way points + repairs are just not worth it….can’t even break even on that score.
The landscape offers intriguing options which “just are not there,” which is sad because it really could be vibrant if Anet just worked on adding things there. Since I’ve already done both JPs in the area and managed to obtain some ori before they removed that rich ori node, I cannot see any earthly reason to revisit it now, no matter how much I wish to.

Champions and veterans have normal drops as far as I can tell, because I’m yet to see a vet drop a rare for that matter. Whenever I see a champ or vet, I avoid them like the plague.
Of all the changes so far I’ve been very supportive, but this is the one part of the game that really gets to me, and it’s plain kittened up. The Nov patch was supposed to fix this, it said so in the notes for crying out loud, but it’s as obvious as day that absolutely nothing had been changed.
Rewards are supposed to be part of the game, but it’s become a shoddy mess.
My point exactly.
Note: it appears someone on the Anet team did not get that memo…lol I wonder if they had their report covers?
Can’t collect enough of needed mats for Orange gear or weapons at the abysmal rate of getting ectos and I refuse to buy them off the TP. Too many mats on the TP are ridiculously over priced as it is, while others (which I cannot use for what I want) are at least reasonably priced.
Does not appear I will ever get sufficient materials for crafting my Orange gear/weapons, let alone try to gain sufficient mats for a legendary.
You are aware that you can get exotic armor/weapons from dungeons and for WvW tokens and for karma as well?
I am aware of being able to obtain exotic armor/weapons from dungeons and for WvW tokens, but I use Karma more since I rarely do a lot of dungeons and WvW in the game. I am a casual player who is not adverse to running around the world exploring and doing the events for karma. This is how I usually obtain my materials for those crafters in my guild who make things for us.
Usually, most drops I do get, I cannot use at all. These items get salvaged for whatever mats I can obtain. I do not care for dungeon crawling, and am only now getting involved in the WvW with my guild. But I am not a pvp’er so to obtain sufficient “tokens” or badges for gear marked pvp, really does not help in my pve play.
Karma gear/weapons are nice but for the really high end items that appear to have to be crafted using the forge, I have to have sufficient quantities of certain materials in order to obtain what I want.
It is unfortunate we do not have more “exploring” available in the game outside of the dungeons. I’ve almost gotten map completion on one of my 80’s, but with the way the WvW is currently setup and until a better balance has been obtained, it may be a few months before I get the 100% world map completion.

I am more concerned with wether or not it will remain a “best in slot” if I transmute.
Exactly!
What’s the point of getting a best in slot piece if its’ stats are totally unrelated to your build, anyway?
We definitely should be able to transmute a legendary to stats of our own choice without getting ‘punished’ for doing so by losing the best in slot status
Or, introduce something as simple as a “Special” stat change stone that you can use to choose the appropriate stats for your item by using this special stone.
Since Anet obviously can add new items to the game, there is no reason to think they can’t introduce a different item. One similar to the transmutation stones for use on your gear/weapon once to change the stats. Make the “special” stone Account Bound so that it cannot be sold to others.
Make this “special” stone obtainable just like the current transmutation stones are now. Stat problem solved.
This is certainly a shame. I salvaged two yellows today, (which I actually had been holding onto in my bank thinking I might use them on one of my characters), one was lvl 78 and the other was lvl 80. Usually, I manage to obtain at least 1 ecto from two tries, but today I did not get any . Just the rune and fabric/metal.

Oh…so that is why my monthly and several of my guild mates’ monthly suddenly reset “TODAY” at about the same time the dailies do at 7pm EST.
Something is out of whack in this scenario.
Note: And just to answer the question, no my computer clock was not on a different date nor was my in-game clock any different. Both set correctly to avoid a problem with things.

I believe after another 10 or 15 pages someone will come and tell us how happy they are with our feedback and that they are still looking into it.
True story.
Colin is happy with our feedback, it gives his bin a reason to have a mini basketball net above it.
Which actually leads directly to the trash bin below. That is apparently where all our posts are ending up… trash …just like the drops we get.
Thanks for the reply Entropy, I truly appreciate hearing that I am not imagining things. We can’t even do the EB JP without dying any more.
We (my guild) tends to just pretend not to see a player or two who just wants to get to do the JP and get to the chest at the top of EB JP. We did this yesterday. In fact there were two other faction players dancing on the altar behind the chest when we got there.
Since they were just hanging out, we ignored them too. So everyone allowed a time of truce for this amazing JP/chest. However, later when I brought an alt through to do it, I had two other guildies with me when all of a sudden we were ambushed at the bottom of the stairs. My companions were both just very very low level so did not have a chance. At least my 80 guardian did fairly ok until all four of those characters just jumped to me .
….heheheh..good fight even though I was out numbered. I at least took one down with me. I learned I was not such a poor player after all. But I, more often than not, prefer to just explore and wave without a fight at the opposite folks.
Yak’s Bend server:
I am new to WvWvW and have been joining in with my guild to run on Wednesdays and Thursdays for a couple of hours each. We usually see a pretty balanced setup when we log in, but recently ques have been so bad that many folks give up waiting after 20-30 minute que time and leave the battle ground que.
Tonight I saw something else I’ve not seen before….a disparity between the 3 servers listed. I’ve never seen a server (no matter who it was) be so high above the other two servers matched against them. It got so bad that after trying several times to just get out of our keeps to go do Quaggan camps and such, that many of us just left the battle grounds all together and decided against doing any WvWvW.
If this disparity is what we will be facing going forward, I think you will see fewer folks opting for doing anything in the WvWvW at all. I know that I will not waste my time when I have absolutely no earthly chance against constant camping. Dying over and over again within such a short period of time to the same very large zerg is just not fun at all. Not even a fighting chance at all either.
I took a screen shot of the WvWvW listing which is how I’ve seen it for at least the past week or two and I must say that this imbalance will keep me out of the play on any of these battle grounds. Too bad, because I was just starting to enjoy my time learning strategy and such for our guild game play.
I got a chest! Hurray!
…. It contained a porous bone…NOT amused.
We keep saying there is a problem with loot, and yet here is more proof of our perceived loot issue. We know devs play on live servers so I got to wonder why aren’t they seeing the same issues with loot. What are they doing different as to not be getting loot issues?
Devs and ANet staff in general, like commanders, hold a special status in-game, a status that can coded to ignore things such as DR. You don’t think devs are going to allow themselves to be crippled do you? I certainly wouldn’t.
So me thinks we are being discriminated against because we are not dev status. Sure sad to see in a game.
