First off every person who plays a class and gets beat by another class derives 2 things

1 their class sucks and is underpowered
2 the class that beat them is underpowered

We all have heard it all. It is just again a product of the wow generation player

Right now of all of the classes (and I am speaking in terms of all aspects of the game WvW, PvE (inc dungeons) and SPvP you are pretty much looking at ranger being #1
After that you pretty much have a clump of classes.
Some traits are messed up on some classes, some skills are inconsistant with tool tips on certain classes.

But there are no broken classes and most of the posts are from people who just simply arent good at their class or do not know how to build their character correctly

So when reading any class forums you have to realize the majority of the people just aren’t good at their classes, so they think the class is bad, and, in turn, think that other classes are op

Well although I did this a few times myself I found a little more of a controlled solo way of obtaining the same thing while getting other mats in the process

So I don’t mind this at all. So I will do that until they nerf that as well

They arent higher tier they are higher populated. There is a big difference

Ofc most of you are looking at this the wrong way.

This data should be used by guilds on heavy que servers to move to lower que servers

This doesn’t illustrate the WvW problems, it shows problems with guilds and players

You don’t like the queues, you don’t think you can get your whole guild in WvW then move to where you can

Players and guilds are creating this problem and AN is giving you free transfers to fix it

But instead people will continue to complain about the queues and not move servers. The issue isn’t going to fix itself people

Actually anyone who isnt a theif will disagree with infinite stealth

Your alt does his legendary.
There is a perfect reason why they are soulbound and that should not change
If you want a legendary on an alt they they have to do the process

Interesting post. Being an EQ vet myself from beta and 8 years in I honestly have no idea why you would think this game is carebear
Of every game within the last 8 years this is the last one I would use to describe this game.
With the amount of time that this game has been live you could not possibly have even put in enough time and done or experienced enough to make that statement.
You are considering WoW lol that is the world of carebear. I wouldnt say that was #1 on the easiest MMOs of all time in the last 8 years but I would certainly put it at 2. Rift was a firm 1 for me just so ridiculously easy.
My only guess is that you are a raider and because this game has no 40 mans you consider it carebear. Well thats your opinion. I wish you luck with your panda

I would say do jewelry and cooking that way since you already have your exotic armor you can make your jewelry and food for buffs

Your skill points are used for epic and mystic forge combos as above the girl is in Lion’s Arch

I have not had an exotic drop from anything other then a chest. I won’t say it isnt possible, I just havent seen it. Magic find imo isnt worth it at all. With a food buff you’re fine. I saw absolutely no difference in having 25% and having over 100%. I would up salving all that magic find armor I made

Mystic forge 4 exotic will net an exotic and a chance at the legendary piece. 4 Yellow can yield an exotic and a small chance at the legendary piece. Just be sure you try to make combines for what you want ie 4 staffs for a staff etc

With all respect if you are having issues with a ranger, you going to have more issues with every other class

You could try a guardian I guess, but like I said ranger is the easiest

Probably not the class for you I’m afraid. They are not weak in PvE and they can kill multiple mobs better then alot of classes. And it is very very difficult to kill us. I actually don’t even remember the last time I died farming stuff

But it is the same as 5 other professions
Make you base materials then make parts then make insignias then do your discoveries

I usually look for the item with the least mats Tailoring I think was shoes, artificing was the trident and do the insignia for that first and see where you are. Early levels do not require that many discoveries

There is so many posts now about the legendary and how it is no fun or a grind, its already tired to me

Forget the legendary just play the game. Create your own memories and have your own fun and you will find everything else just takes care of itself

People have to really really get out of this tunnelvision because all you are going to do is aggrevate yourself and others

Stop looking at 100g as a grind. Stop looking at 525k karma. Play the game do what you do in a normal day. Do what you enjoy doing. Then in a month look at what is in your bank. Look at your karma and WvW coin and how much money do you have?

People say I must grind this now I must get 100g now. So many of you need to relax and understand just play the game. This isnt wow this isnt a thing that can be go and grinded out in a short time and once you understand that and just play the game you’ll be fine

It is like everything else. It is a money sink if you make it one.
Jewelcrafting as an example I spent 0 to get to 400
Tailoring was just thread cost
Cooking was 99% karma cost
Artifice I kinda broke down and bought some supplimental ingrediants

But you can craft also free

I havent had any desire to do the other 4 yet and I probably wont until I level another character so I have the mats and I can level while gathering

Upon server reset the positions change, so making a map is kinda pointless.
Once a few weeks/months go by maybe someone will start seeing a cycle and then maps can be done
But making a map on Monday which could take a day or 2 then it becoming invalid the following monday is fruitless

Explore the world thats why it is there

One habit that I got into travelling has been going to the heart of the mists then to lion’s arch (both free) then you can also go to any town for free from there.
Also the closer your are to the point the cheaper so I would go to holbreak if I was going to frostgorge sound
Sure its a little more loading screens and what not but I have saved quite a bit since i’ve been doing it that way

This game isnt for you
You are pre programmed from past games and are making a post which is compleately against what their goal of this game is supposed to be

Right now there are some mobs on some paths that have issues.

Should rewards be upped, I would think so. But the original post fails in illustrating the dungeon problem and instead over inflates the actuality

There are specific things on specific paths that require action. Those items should be reported on. Everytime we come across something 5 people report them

Granted some additonal things have been broken as well

There are paths in every dungeon at this point that can be done

I am certainly not surprised that people are having tons of trouble in the dungeons though

So do them or don’t do them plain and simple.

I also agree that DAoC was my far the king of WvW but I think it is a little early to be taking about making changes to the system. We aren’t even done round 1 of real matches yet.
I am actually looking forward to how the matching system works going forward

The only thing they really need to do for WvW is close the transfers, which should have been closed when 2 week WvW started

There is no treadmill, there is no 40g in materials

And you know what else if everyone wants to be in the same gear everyone has to do the same thing
I made my carrion set through my tailor. I made my jewelry through my jeweler with very minimum costs, because when I’m playing the game I gathered and crafted
All toll I bought gossamer thread
Any and everyone can craft jewelry and armor for practically no cost

And what is the huge increase in grinding for exotics?

Sorry but you just don’t understand the game and how to go about acquiring materials, spend some time and do some reading.
I’m sorry but I cannto possibly disagree with you more nor can I have any kind of sympathy for anyone who wants to make something easier that is already so simple.
My 9 year old nephew is in all exotic on mats he gave to me to make his gear, just as a gauge…

I’m pretty sure they continue on log out. I know food does. Would make sense if everything was the same

well I also being a mesmer came across a similar “tagging mobs topic” and I thought all we have is chaos storm and the cooldown is too long

So I, for events only, am using staff and greatsword
First wave I send the berskerer in then staff
2nd wave I chaos storm

Works pretty good. Have to get used to the timing though
That is ofc for when there are alot of people doing the event, but I have alot more success like that

i agree with previous poster the game should be fine.

I personally would step up to 21-24" monitor
but the rest is fine.
It is really only outdated to those on the cutting edge

You, like many others look at the list and say omg look at all I have to do
You look at it as grinding, I look at it as playing the game

I don’t grind karma, I do events because I enjoy them
I don’t grind WvW coins because I enjoy WvW and I get coins as a bonus
I don’t grind dungeons, I do the dungeons because I find them enjoyable

You see a ton of grinding, I see playing the game

You say you want less time contraints on achieving the Legendary. I see I have all the time in the world

I’m pretty simple. Seems alot of people feel a real overhaul is needed.

I would like 5-10 seconds cut off chaos storm reuse
I would also like phantasms only to remain until killed or we are killed or obviously we shatter them

We spend too much time getting clones and phantasms up every single mob

if you are doing an event in a large group the only thing I have found with the mesmer is choas storm. And you have to time it just right because sometimes they show as invulnerable on their incomings. Unfortunately with the time in between uses you cannot get every wave
I would imagine the silvari plants would maybe work as well
we just dont have much by the way of AoE
The greatsword you could try the phantasm as well but you would have to time that as well
We just arent very equipt to do the large group ones etc the big ones like temples or dragons

I havent heard of white citadel either
Depending on level you will have a 2pc green 4 pc yellow or 6 pc orange rune set
Obviously you get great benefits from having a complete set
Also keep in mind you can also just throw a random gem in the slots as well

Did you do your story? At 80 All of my main slots were from the story and I think my lowest armor piece was 68 or 69 then I crafted from lowest level item up.
There are many routes to armor
crafting
Dungeons
Also any karma vendor outside a major hub like dwyana gweneth etc have full sets (and yes I spelled both of those wrong) Also your alliengence vendor Like the Priory or Secrets have full sets as well.

Let’s make this clear ArenaNet doesn’t want you, is forcing you, is deciding for you, hindering you, or anything else having to do with a legendary item.

You are making a choice, get the legendary or not.
If you decide you want to, you know what you will need to do
If you decide that you don’t want it, because its too much farming, it doesn’t upgrade you etc

It’s your choice plain and simple. No one is forcing you to do anything

The main problem with people is plain and simple. You 2nd generation gamers have been pre programmed to expect to be fed upgrades for little investment. I do not need to go into all the games over the last 8 years that have been instantaneous gradification cause they are too many to list.
Those people that are 1st gen gamers look at this as finally someone is making something epic that takes awhile to accomplish.
An actual goal, over time, in a modern game is completely unheard of

I’m sure alot of EQ people, like myself, see this as refreshing and I will not complain one bit.
I can only hope that there are many many more things like this in the future

So all these AN is forcing me to farm and quotes like the result doesn’t justify the cost, well plain and simple, you have your decision then. Don’t do it. You don’t have to
But if you want to and make the decision to just keep in mind you are making yourself do it
Hell a guy in my guild says he’s going to get one for everything he can wield, and yes he’s a 1st gen gamer too

Crafting is free. Sure you can buy some things and break them down and that may be faster. If you can find a good deal go for it. Bu when I farm the rare mats I get tons of mats to make stuff
Sometimes I’ll buy the extra stuff like if I need 2 scales or what not.

So yea I guess it would be faster but not as economic

You aren’t punished. You are making a choice. You can choice to play multiple characters and then yes it will take you longer obviously.

You can choose to play multiple characters
You can choose not to get a legendary

Either way you arent being punished you are making the choice

Every single thing earned by one toon should remain on that toon period. I understand ingrediants and mats and the like cause you can just trade them anyway

The booster is on any crafted item. So like when you do your 200 copper to copper bar combines you get increased experience. If you for example discovered the emerald mithril ring if you make that item again you will still get the experience boost
It does not count on discoveries only everything else it works.
Whether that make it worth it is of varied opinion
I for example had tons of tier 2 blood, t3 claws and not alot of the other stuff so it made sense for me

Alot of people look at it wrong
If you craft armor it can cost you absolutely nothing
I don’t know what crazy amounts of gold you are putting into crafting. I currently have artifice, JC, tailor, and cook at 400 and I would say I spent less then a gold total
I made 2 sets of armor for myself. I also made numerous this to break down for ectos

The only time I spent any money was bying the claws, blood and stuff if I was at the end of a tier and didnt feel like going out to get more

Its not cheaper to buy anything.
I paid 0 to make my armor set outside of buying thread
I paid 0 to make my second armor set
I will be paying 0 to make my jewelry
and it cost me 0 to make my staff

best way to do it is level up a tradeskill and make a yellow staff, sword, boot whatever then break it down with the high level salvage kit
Farming events you can do as well but you arent guaranteed any good items to salvage

As an example I do artificer I make yellow tridents and then salvage them
As said above even with the best salvage kit you could get 0-3
I see no difference between a level 70 yellow and a level 80 orange

well first off since this is an alt you must have materials from your main unless you crafted on your main. And if you crafted on your main I see absolutely no reason to craft on an alt but whatever floats your boat

First off I would start with 2 tradeskills first-cooking and jewelry making and do them to 400 then see where you are
Reason for this is they are the easiest 2 and neither one used the tiny fangs,claws, blood etc etc

2nd if you have any tendency to use the gem store buy some keys and open some chests you will randomly get a TS booster which per description will give you bonus exp with every combination

Now I would not use them until youre done cooking and Jewelry.

Once you are done those 2 go artificer, ws, as, or huntsman those require wood and metal.
Wood and metal are pretty much in abundance and alot easier to obtain then leather and silk and there is more on the trader

I honestly do not know how much you have to do on a fesh character to get to 80 but the above is certainly what I would do

Honestly I just do not see it as being that bad. At this point it is really the money 100g for icy runestones. Thats a pretty big deal to alot of people at this point
But in the clover combo if you dont get clover you get t6 mats. If you levelled any craft you can make stuff to break down for globs.
Almost everything you do gains karma and for doing wvw you get the tokens
Dailies gain coins, dungeons gain their component etc

It really isnt horrible when you don’t look at the list
Instead of saying I’m going o work on my weapon and go about farming everything, play the game for a month and see where you are then without trying to farm anything

You are totally right. There literally is stuff everywhere.

As an example I do a full run through Cursed Shore at least 2 times a day and I have been doing it for a couple weeks now, same route but I cover most of the map

This morning I did 3 events for the very 1st time. I mean I had no clue they were even there

So yea I wouldn’t be surprised if I missed about 75% of the events at this point

wish I knew it seems hopelessly random. Going for the staff myself I think I am currently at 112
It honestly seemed to me that I would reliably get about 5 or 6 doing an entire zone

My opinion there is absolutely no reason for it at all
Don’t get me wrong I curse like a pirate whenever I die but I do it to myself
Actually typing it out for one reason or another is completely not necessary because most people don’t want to hear it

You can always throw your mouse or keyboard or punch a hole in your wall but typing into a public chat is completely unnecessary
You wanna curse to your guild in guild chat or curse to your guild in vent go for it but the world doesnt want to hear it nor cares to

As everyone said ranger is w/o question the class. Get a bear and you never have to worry about anything ever again just sail to 80

Why complain about it?
If it has the same stats, why even bother

You don’t have to grind anything and you do not have to get your legendary weapon

If you want it you will have to earn it

I know alot of people truly believed that they should weild their legendary within a month and I honestly feel bad for them.

Everything to make them is accessable for everyone who wants to take the time. If it is too much for you don’t do it
