Whatever you do with it, don’t remove it or change it’s core thing. Maybe only slight adjustment for Shiro and Glint elites. This trait alone makes Salvation traitline worth taking.
The trait is actually working as intended (25% chance to apply torment), but the tooltip is incredibly inaccurate.
That said, I don’t think it’s GM worthy with a 15s ICD. How does 10s sound?
No it’s not GM worthy. It’s not even minor worthy like this.
Suggesting something like this gives a really bad image of not understanding class needs and balance. Some people in this thread gave good suggestions, work on them or make something interesting based on them. Current state of trait is really sad.
They probably look like Predator under those masks. Doesn’t really get more beastly than that. Or maybe they are extremely amphibian or reptilian. With scales and gills and whatnots.
It’s not like they are all that human-like with those leathery flaps on the back.
I’d remove legend swapping and instead introduce something like legend channeling. If you running Mallyx for example and do the legend channeling thing then you get Mallyx specific powers for few seconds (I don’t know, you become a walking dark combo field that pulses confusion, for example). It could be like 2nd elite skill or very strong upkeep skill, but you get it for free without needing any resource, just cooldown (20-30 seconds CD, 5-10 sec duration)
Or another version, F1-Fx would be legend specific channellings that would grant legend specific powers, but would keep the player in selected stance.
That of course would further reduce the diversity of class because you’re using just one legend so a counter measure would be introducing at least 2 new skills per legend that we can pick.
OR, allow ALL legends to be invoked while in combat. I don’t see why it was decided in the first place to have only 2 legends at disposal. True, people would still focus on 1 or 2, but if elementalist can burn through 4 attunments worth of cooldowns, I see no reason why revenant shouldn’t have all legends at disposal. If you are focusing on power build then mallyx would be next to useless, but you’d still have access to mallyx skills if situation needed it. It would bring a lot more diverse gameplay to the table.
Healing skill spamming can be simply resolved by making them share cooldown and balance around that.
Oh, completely forgot about Lovecraftian theme. Largos seems perfect to plug-in that vibe into game. I like this idea.

HoT is expansion. It’ needs to be more than just a faceroll like rest of game is. If you expect to install game, make instant 80 and enter Maguuma hoping for easy loot then you’re doing it wrong.
If you have some characters already at 80 with decent gear, and you still can’t make a step in Maguuma without dying then maybe the problem is in your gameplay.
People keep bringing up the whole ‘issue’ that content isn’t soloable – it’s MMO and some things should be impossible to solo (true, they gone overboard with too many meta events but that’s for another discussion). If everything is soloable then might as well make this game single player.
Would be nice if next expansion takes place underground or bottom of sea.
Introducing Primordus or Deep Sea Dragon.
Huge underground halls and ecosystems. Something along the lines of Journey to the Center of Earth. But on larger scale. Go all crazy with vertical maps (I’m not sarcastic, I’m just glad that Anet finally took a step away from plain boring flat maps that every single game has). Imagine visiting huge cavern systems underground where dragon was sleeping.
As for deep sea maps… I know that everyone and their dog hates underwater combat and everything that has to do with being underwater, but if done right this could have potential. Introduce Largos as playable race, reveal that they actually have extremely advanced underwater technology (almost alien-like Asura), living in massive underwater settlements and cities that go even deeper into ground.
I had something like this in mind. It’s far from some meta, but seems fun enough. Basically you’re tank. Stay in Mallyx and if things go south switch to Jalis and spam that elite.
I know Glint is pretty much mandatory nowadays, but I guess if you go condi rev might as well stay in Mallyx stance and have Jalis as backup instead of Glint, since Jalis offers more on the defensive side.
Salvation line… well, wasn’t really sure what to take as 3rd one and took Salvation for those unexpected blinds and daze on elite use. Devastation and Invocation don’t really offer anything to condi build, Herald is option if you take Glint as 2nd legend.
Balthazar runes make this burn oriented, but I guess any condi runes can work out.

It’s simple;
Passive: 1 second longer stealth
Active: enter stealth for 6 seconds. CD 40 seconds.
Thief really needs a simple button that makes it enter stealth and nothing more. And no, shadow refuge, CnD, HS, steal etc. are not that.
Stealth like this should be baseline F3, but I guess elite would be acceptable as well.
This is the worst kind of balance that can happen. This game has too good combat to be relying on delivering majority of damage through mindless auto-attack. Sure it does look nice they are finally fixing thief, but auto-attack is not the way to do it.
There were comments during stream that said “auto-attack meta” and they weren’t that far-fetched.
Dagger only as a ranged weapon. Calling it from mists to do some fancy stabbing around your enemy. With mist effect ofc. Something like hammer 5, but less ground-hitting and more neck-piercing.

I’m pretty sure Anet hates Trailblazer for some reason. They are seething with hate when someone mentions it I’m sure. I can picture some poor fella from custumer service coming among devs asking: “Hey guys, we have lots of inquiries regarding Trailblazer stuff being broken. Can you guys make a quick hotfix?”
“YOU’RE FIRED!” thunders the voice across the room looking around if there is anyone else thinking of making a foolish mistake of mentioning Trailblazer.
There was a nice line I heard recently in Narcos (series) and I think it fits very well here:
“Bad guys need to get lucky every time. The goods guys need to get lucky only once.”
Thieves aren’t good guys here.
All that stands, but the problem here isn’t that op doesn’t want to communicate or cooperate. Problem is even before the grouping up stage – it’s in the game. Players shouldn’t have discussions about this and this should be fixed just like the rest of fractals got fixed. It’s not urgent problem but it’s a problem.
Players should not be punished for wanting to play properly. Here player is punished for not exploiting and first reply to the thread is basically “It’s your fault you’re not exploiting with rest of your group”. Don’t you think that Anet should be called out for this and not OP?

Instead of whining about it, why don’t you either ask the squad which way they plan on doing the fractal/mission/event/etc. (and leave if they plan on doing things in a way you don’t like) or just go solo it since you obviously don’t want to be in the team? If there were enough votes to kick you, obviously you’re the odd one out.
Prime example of ignoring the problem and sweeping it under the rug.

Again, I highly suggest people look into my suggestion. A burst/DPS rifle-based sniper spec doesn’t work by design and would create anti-fun gameplay situations.
Your post does not give a good explanation of the point of the spec. If you intend it to be some sort of supporty/CC spec then we have no need for that, we have Short Bow and Pistol already. What we need is a 1200+ range DPS spec so that we can engage in content that is too risky to melee.
Many people already pointed out that it would be a bad idea to give a profession, which has that amount of movement, a dps range weapon.
If we’ll ever see second set of elite specs then I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to pick just one. Too many problems would come if people would take 2 and a lot of complications could happen.
Without Daredevil line and Dash, thief isn’t THAT mobile. And keep in mind that to stay mobile thief needs to sacrifice utility. Not to mention there is no reliable source of swiftness. Steal needs to be traited and swiftness is short duration. Shortbow can be used as second weapon, but then again SB is used mostly for running away. And since thief can be easily one-shot with all this recent power creep, there is absolutely nothing wrong in making/keeping it most mobile class in game.

How about self-interrupts? Because on my Rev spells go on CD if I dodge mid-cast. Hammer 5 for example. Axe 5 seems fine and just goes on short cd.

Problem description: "Trailblazer’s intricate gossamer insignia. It’s not usable in mystic forge like all other new insignias are. It’s been 2 months since release of the game. It’s unacceptable that such easily fixed bug is still present in the game and it was never addressed on official forum. There is 3 page long topic on it and not a single answer from Anet team. I wasted time and resources making these insignias and now they are useless sitting in my bags. Meanwhile I had to make different armor and again spend my time and resources. Will I get compensation for spending more than 150 total gold on changing my armor back when this finally gets a fix? Will this be finally acknowledged on official forum?
I expect an answer to this support ticket and this is a huge problem not only for me, but for many people in game atm."

If I made even more fuss about it I guess I could have even got some gold in exchange. But is this really the way to deal with such stupid little (probably very easily fixable) bug that’s posing a major inconvenience for many people?
I don’t need this insignia. I moved on, made Viper’s gear and I’m actually pretty happy with it. I did lose gold, however I change gear pretty often to experiment with it so it’s not even a big deal for me. But I probably proved some point.
Just 1 single person that is working half-time on keeping people in the loop here on forum. That’s all it takes, and stupid over-exaggerating tickets like mine wouldn’t happen.
I guess they must respond to support tickets…
Well one could also make S/P thief pick skills that could suit the theme and roleplay it, but that won’t get you far…

Beside ‘Steal’, thief needs F3 ability that will make them go stealth without any special preparations or whatever (make it at least 6 second stealth with 10 sec CD and half second cast, for example). Kinda sad when your whole build needs to be centered around maintaining stealth and entering stealth through combo. It’s a thief for god’s sake, should be baseline to have easy access to stealth, just like other classes have easy access to their own specific things. You don’t see hunters summoning satan and sacrificing virgins to it to call their pet. They press button and they have the beast mauling at you already.
The game has such great stealth mechanics, but it’s crippled with terrible access to it for the class that should be centered around it.
Also, nerf reveal, don’t remove, just nerf to 2 seconds.
Eh, might as well just toss those insignias now (tossing 60+ gold, that is), already made some other armor…
But it’s not about 60 gold, it’s about the fact that I will stop pestering friends telling them how awesome this game is and that they should start playing it. You clearly don’t care enough so I wont care to bring you new people just as well.
It was rather naive to think so highly of Anet when I started playing and when I saw how great the raw gameplay mechanics are.

…when you see people directly insulting them and nobody reacting. Back before HoT release when there was a dev occasionally here I wrote something that was barely a critique (a post about dodge animations still being ‘stub’ phase few days before release) and post was removed and I got warning.
Now, there are open insults and no reaction. This tells a lot.
Game studio this big NEEDS a person on forum with full working time spent here that is actin as a medium between users and rest of devs. Running a MMO and having someone occasionally check here isn’t good practice and will eventually lead to community being so salty they will have to rename this forum to Dead Sea.

Hammer is perfect as it is (minus issues with terrain and range of attack 3).
It’s slow, hits hard so you need to time well certain things. Making it hit like wet noodle as it did in first beta would be quite sad.

You people would like to suck out the fun out of everything. First time I got swarmed when entering HoT areas I was kinda shocked, but also positively pleased they put stuff like that in game. I learned my lesson very fast and now I know how to deal with them without putting much effort into it.
You can literally just ignore them and do 2 well timed evades and they will stop following.
It’s a jungle, people! If you’re not careful and you accidentally walk into them, well… natural selection happens.
Well, with certain camera settings come certain drawbacks. One can not play first person view and complain how his field of view is narrow, or go ‘starcraft camera view’ and say they don’t see all the small details on enemy armor.
Game can get pretty saturated with all magical effects, but that’s one of the things that makes the combat. If there’s a bright shinning thing 1 meter away from you it’s only natural that you get distracted.
If you overlook enemies on ground then you need to improve on your situation awareness.
