LMAO! Let me get this straight, you dropped a blueprint on the ground, and someone from DR took the blueprint, which was on the ground, and you’re calling them a thief? LMAO!

If you dropped it on the ground, it sounds like based on what Anet has put into the game, it’s fair game. If it’s not, then Anet shouldn’t make the blueprints droppable (and you really shouldn’t have dropped it outside of the safe area).

I’m sorry, to come to the forums, and whine about your mistake, that’s just hilarious, thanks for the laugh today, I really needed one.

No, I called them a thief because THEY WERE A THIEF. As in, “HELLO I AM USING MEDIUM ARMOR AND MY CLASS IS THIEF I AM USING DAGGERS AND SUCH AND I HAVE A STEALTH MECHANIC”

They waited for it, that’s the thing. They weren’t running up. They went into stealth, AFTER they noticed someone was donating blueprints. They didn’t even attack first. The FIRST thing they did was take the blueprint and then they ran off. They just a kitten move.

Does this even require a response? Your fault for dropping it in front of the enemy SPAWN… Cry more. We’re not scum because you make mistakes. And if you think that DR is sending spies, you have a lot to learn buddy.

Leave it to an IoJ to be stingy over a golem.. Can’t blame them when half of their golems run under oil and die.

It wasn’t infront of the spawn, it was in front of the tower, literally outside the gate. I got a message saying “Hey I have some blueprints for you” and they started dropping them.

Also, I KNOW DR is sending spies. There is definitive evidence to support the case and if you’re denying it then you’re fooling yourself. Belittled is a spy and we’ve proven it time and time again. He never leaves WvW. He hasn’t gained any achievement points. He only just recently started responding in chat. He only shows up when we’re fighting DR. He never showed up when it was SF and DH. Don’t even try to lie about it.

Many players on your server clearly support play that is not in the spirit of WvW. Spying and stealing blueprints? I mean, I can understand if this was T1 or T2 where spying has some advantages, but this is servers from the bottom 3 tiers. And the only reason I say they stole the blueprint was because they did not attack, not did they stay around to fight. There is a difference between accidentally picking it up and then fighting and going STRAIGHT FOR IT and then running off.

Did the thief have a fiery dragon sword?

I’m not 100% sure, but I believe so yes.

I’d just like to point out that whoever the Devona’s Rest thief was that STOLE A GOLEM BLUEPRINT outside of FC’s tower in front of your spawn just now is an absolute jerk. Seriously? Stealing BLUEPRINTS that people are donating to a commander?

You effectively just stole 1 gold. This is not okay. This is a new low for your server. I’m disgusted by this. As if you would steal items from other players. I don’t like resulting to name-calling, but you’re absolute scum.

Stealing is not okay.

First you guys start placing spies on our server, now you’re stealing blueprints when people are donating them? I wouldn’t be surprised if you start exploiting next. Are you so insecure about your server that you feel the need to result to such things? This is not in the spirit of World vs World. You’re just getting worse and worse as a server.

I’m here to tell you and our guild should join ISLE OF JANTHIR!

Isle of Janthir, what a cool name for starters?! How cool is that?! How can you say no?

We’re WINNING in world verse world against servers of our own size and have been holding our own against servers three times our size previously. That’s how awesome we are.

We have several dedicated commanders who spend hours of their own time in WvW stomping our foes. We have our own forums and TeamSpeak which is for anyone from the server to use as long as you have a friendly attitude. On Isle of Janthir our primetimes are the oceanic and NA time and would absolutely love more EU guilds and players to fill in that timeslot.

We may not be in the top 3 tiers, but who wants to be on a band-wagon server anyway? We’re about having fun, not about having 70 v 70 fights and making people sit at Hyleks for hours on end. We’re about golem rushing Stonemist with 40 golems, just because we can. We’re about going straight for the enemy garrison just because that’s what our community wants. We’re about going in and stomping an entire borderland because your guild needs map completion. We’re about fun, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t about winning either. We aim to win. We aim to come first. Isle of Janthir has weekly training missions to ensure that our players are at the best they can be, so that we can win!

Error Code=42:1000:9001:4119:101 what do?

I keep getting this error. It disables my ability to use any chat but local and sets all my guilds to personal ones. I can’t join parties or invite people. I’ve tried doing ipconfig/release and renew, I’ve tried resetting my router.

I’ve tried a bunch of things which only offer very temporary solutions.

Has anyone found a PROPER fix?

Inculpatus, you make a point, but there is a line. That was absolutely atrocious. If you’re going to employ people to respond to English speaking customers, at least make sure their English passable. That’s not passable. I don’t expect it to be perfect but come on, that email looks borderline spam-mail (which I assure you, it wasn’t)

Also, asking for my date of birth AGAIN even though it was correct the first time is just silly.

So, I’ve been trying to enquire about something over support and encountered an issue (being that the person I’m in contact with can’t read)

I gave my DOB as requested but I got told it was wrong. When I checked what I sent, it was correct, however this isn’t the issue.

The issue was that the email I received (and yes, it was a legitimate email) was so poorly written I had trouble understanding what they were saying. This is extremely poor on Anet and NCSoft’s behalf. I expect if I send in a support query I’m going to be having it dealt with by someone who isn’t either 5 years old or still learning English.

Also, for Anet staff who don’t believe me, my ticket is: [Incident: 130601-002414]?

Check it out for yourself. This person shouldn’t be dealing with English customers till they can form a proper sentence. I don’t mean to sound racist or rude, but let’s be honest here, this is extremely poor customer support.

So basically I think Mossman in the swamp fractals needs a better tell/build-up or whatever you personally call it on his agony projectile.

The lighting, size of Mossman, and size and speed of the projectile make it incredibly difficult to dodge. This isn’t exactly fair when you’re doing things like level 48 and his agony is a minimum of 18% per tick and will usually result in death if you aren’t at full health. If you have a guardian in the group, it’s even more difficult with their fire, but that’s just a profession mechanic and has problems across the board.

What I would suggest would be as follows:

1. Make him bigger. Mossman is too small for the amount of damage he can do.

2. Give his projectile a noticeable colour that stands out. It’s blends in too much with
the fractal

3. Decrease the speed of his projectile. It should take slightly longer to hit you to give you enough time to notice it and dodge.

4. Give it a proper telegraph. He needs an actual telegraph for this attack. You can’t see it when you’re running around and he’s too small to notice.

These 4 changes would ultimately bring him in-line with other bosses that deal agony and would remove his artificial difficulty, while still making him somewhat challenging if the group isn’t careful.

Before responding, please keep in mind this is from a perspective of level 48, where he not only does high agony damage but also does decent damage with his wolves and other attacks.

So I’m sure someone else has probably already pointed this out, but I’d like to have a rant myself.

I am sick and tired of seeing Belittled. Whoever you are, kitten off. Spying in servers THIS LOW? Seriously, get a kittening life. I KNOW it’s Devona’s Rest because he’s only ever been online when we’ve been up against you. I’d like to say that until your server takes action against this, you’re all no better than exploiters, hell, you’re probably even worse.

If it’s you or your guild, this is disgusting. I seriously recommend you take a long hard look at yourself. Do you guys really need this kind of stuff to compete? Is your server THAT bad? Maybe that’s the reason you guys dropped a tier while we held our own for weeks, and even got second place many times. Maybe it’s why we’re absolutely dominating you guys when there is no power-house server for you to leach off.

Next you’re going to start buying rams and wasting siege in all our keeps. I can see it coming. How is this fair gameplay? I hope that account gets perma-banned and the person wastes $60.

I hate to be the guy to point people out and call names, but this is not in the spirit of world verse world. On another note, if anyone has any claims about IoJ spying, please contact me. I’d hate to get on here and rant, only to find out someone is doing the same. I’m not in a huge WvW guild but I believe I have a decent-sized influence on our server and am reasonably well respected by many. I WILL follow it up and do my best to find out the truth of the matter.

Also, this is completely off-topic from my post, but I’d like to commend the FC guy (and his guild) who jumped on IoJ’s TS on reset night and said hi and said how much he enjoyed reset and such. This is made me feel like FC are, whilst not the greatest at WvW, respectable opponents. Kudos to you and your guild, I look forward to seeing you guys on the battle-field some more.

So the commander tag now appears underneath all green dots, including that of the commander.

This is a serious issue for WvW as it makes it quite hard to see the commander in a zerg.

If you fail the puzzle you don’t get the rewards. It’s that simple.

It’s got nothing to do with failing it. The guild actually completes it. It just doesn’t give anyone the chance to catch up and get in once others have completed it.

I assume you guys haven’t done the puzzle yet.

It doesn’t quite work that way.

Yes it does. You’re supposed to do it as a guild.

  • Don’t start the puzzle until everyone is at the start and ready
  • Don’t enter the elevator until everyone is caught up (don’t press any of the buttons either!)
  • Keep four people standing on the buttons switches so everyone can get through
  • Don’t travel alone in the maze and get yourself killed in some random corner
  • Stragglers can port to the WP and go NW so a mesmer can port them to the beginning of the maze part

It’s really not that difficult and tons of guilds have successfully completed it with no issues.

Yes, that’s all well and good but that 1. Wastes time and 2. Shouldn’t even be needed.

If someone dies at the END from skritt or jumping or anything, they have to go to the START and do it all again. That’s not exactly fair play for a guild mission. You’d need to wait for at least 4 other people and hope they can get it done in time before the maze ends. If they get unlucky and there is like a minute left on the maze then they have to do the maze.

That’s not fair or fun. Both times I’ve done challenge there have been people in my guild (and yes, in one instance it was me) at least 5 people didn’t get the reward chest, despite getting upto the maze. Just because they didn’t walk in the room in time meant they didn’t get the reward. How is that fair?

If your guild gets to the end and you have participated in most of the puzzle you should get the reward. As I said earlier, it isn’t like rush where you still have a legitimate and fair chance to get the reward after it’s completed.

Also, those four people wont get rewards if they stay there.

Say a guild needs to organise better all you like, but if a single person dies and gets put back at the start, it’s not fair. A guild is left with a choice of “send more people back to help this person through, possibly screwing up the puzzle or making even more not get rewards” OR “just tell them bad luck and to try on their own”

That’s not in the spirit of being in a guild. That’s not fun.

If I’m going to pay money for this game and support them by buying gems I feel I get the right to demand that content be fixed. If they’re selling it and attempting to promote it (like there were when missions were introduced) I expect them to actually be fully working, fair and fun content. This is none of those.

So there is stacks upon stacks of blocking in guild puzzles. If you die, you have to redo EVERYTHING. The maze too. You DO NOT get the reward. This is completely unfair and inconsistent with other missions. ANYONE who PARTICIPATES should get a merit.

I would seriously question the sanity of anyone who thinks the current system is a good one. Who at Arenanet thought this was a good idea? At least OPEN the door once it’s completed. At least if you complete a guild rush you can still get the rewards. This is not the case with puzzle and MUST be fixed.

For those who have not done puzzle, DO NOT DIE. Be extremely careful on your jumps too.

As a player who has paid money for the game and has bought gems previously, I demand a reform to the current system (i.e. the implementation of ‘check points’ for those who die) and I encourage others to do so. This system is not in the spirit of guilds and community. This is not fair and most of all this is not fun

I would also expect that there be a dev response on this as the current state is not acceptable and should not have been acceptable for release to the public.

Constant Network Errors (bug)

I’m not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but for the past few days I’ve been receiving CONSTANT network errors. Typically I get 42:1000:9001:4116:101, but I’m actually in-game, playing. Normally what happens is my party UI stops functioning, chat ceases to work, my guild rosters stop working and everyone appears offline in my friends list. I KNOW this is a bug because I’m not ever getting disconnected. I’m actually playing with little-to-no lag. I’m 99% certain it’s not on my end. If it was I’d be getting disconnected from the game unless of course the friends, guild, chat and party system uses a completely different port to the rest of GW2 and my router is opening it and closing it randomly.

Also, to note. I was doing Jormag earlier and the bug info window appeared in rapid fire. As in, it rapidly appeared at a constant rate, with me attempting to close them all.

Also, recently, I just had the TP give me a network error too, (error: 0….0:101) when searching for superior runes. Not sure if it’s related.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Can we get a dev response on this please?

Edit: To add to this, guild tags of those I’m in any guild with (the guild I’m repping or one I’m in but not repping, but they are) do not appear.

To add to this, I’m running MSE and a standard firewall. I’ve never had these issues and I’ve been playing since the first semi-public beta.

Help needed: My friend just scammed a guild

Okay, so I’m a Senior Officer in my current guild and we’ve got a load of stuff in our bank (probably about 40g worth).

I’ll try giving my point of view from this perspective as well as others.

From the perspective of an SO in my guild:
I would personally be furious. I’d do everything I could to get that person banned or have some form of punishment dished out. As a senior officer in a guild with large amounts of gold in our trove, I’d recommend you report them and find better friends. At the same time, we aren’t stupid enough to keep anything of value in our regular vault (it’s literally just food with 2 copper) and we only let our 30 senior officers access the rest of the bank (though our members are welcome to request things from the bank). I’d say that the guild was pretty stupid to allow practically anyone to access it.

From the perspective of a friend:
Well, if it were my IRL friends I’d probably get pretty mad at them for being kitten, but I wouldn’t go much further. It’s just a game, after all. No reason to ruin IRL friendships (though stealing is stealing is stealing and my trust in them might be a little lessened)
Were it my in-game friends I’d simply find new ones. It’s the same as when I find out one of my friends is an kitten hole to PuGs or new players or something like that, they aren’t people I want to game with. I wouldn’t report them but I would inform the guild of who it was and leave it at that.

From the perspective of a general player:
To be honest I can’t really blame them too much. Sure, they’re kitten holes for doing it and it’s the wrong thing to do, but it’s like someone you’ve never met giving you the pin-number to their bank account with 10,000 dollars in and saying “here, go buy yourself lunch with it.” It’s tempting as hell to go buy that really awesome game you want, isn’t it? Or even to take the lot. After all, you have no real obligation to them do you?

Basically, they did the wrong thing and are total jerks for it. Take into consideration how the guild feels and also your ‘friends’ thought process behind it. Ultimately unless they’re IRL friends I’d just find new ones. You don’t want to be playing with people like that. If any of your mutual friends question you, simply tell them that you aren’t comfortable playing with people who steal from others.

WvW Server Rankings To Be Reset

So basically I’m proposing that the server rankings be reset. If you look at the server rankings as they are currently you’ll see that certain servers have been in the lead from their tier for weeks on end, sometimes months. At the same time, you’ve got some medium-wvw population servers in certain tiers grouped with others who have a massive WvW population. You’ve also got servers grouped with others who have completely opposite WvW-Active times.

The tier and ranking system as it currently stands, does not work. Sure, if you’re part of a massive server who dominates every single week, you aren’t going to be complaining. Servers like, say… Darkhaven or Tarnished Coast can’t really complain too much. However, servers like Devona’s Rest, Fort Apsendwood, Isle of Janthir and many others do. Every week it’s the same. Being faced up against a server with a huge WvW population who shouldn’t be in the rank they are.

Personally, I’m a commander on IoJ and ever since we had the huge exodus, WvW has been painful for us and I can safely bet it’s been painful for DR as well. We’ve been in almost the same place every single week, faced against mega-servers. Stormbluff, Darkhaven, Ehmry Bay, Anvil Rock. Every week it’s basically just been a battle for second place. There is no way we could possible gain any steady ground over the mega-server. They’re too big. So it leads to letting them take first place and trying to grab second, which is really bad. No server should ever play like this, but what hope is there against a server that can get zergs of 50+ every single day, when you struggle to get a group of 30, total. Across the entire 3 maps.

My plan is as follows:
Reset the servers completely. Reset all ranks. Then have a repeat of the first month of the game. Server groupings of 2 or 3 days. Base these groupings off ACTIVE WORLD VS. WORLD POPULATION. This is the key. A server that has a very high population of PvE players may not necessarily have a large WvW population.

Ontop of this, data needs to be gathered on Primary Activity Hours. A set of 3 – 6 hours where the server is most active in WvW. it is not fair or reasonable to expect 3 servers with completely different activity hours to compete. ArenaNet needs to remember that just because the NA servers are labelled “North America” and the EU servers are labelled “Europe” this does not mean that a servers primary player base is ONLY European or ONLY North American. As an Australian player I can not stress the importance of this. Servers such as IoJ and SoS have a very large (in comparison to other servers) Oceanic player base. It is not fair or reasonable to expect us to compete with servers who do not have a large oceanic player base, nor is it fair for the other servers.

After that data of average daily WvW player activity, WvW primary activity hours, WvW server scores and other relevant data, this should then be used to set up a new system. This system should not be tier based as it currently is. A tier system does not encourage fair gameplay, nor does it encourage players to join servers that are not the top 6 servers. Aside from this, a sever in tier 4 may well be able to hold it’s own against a sever from t1 and t2, yet because a certain server in t4 beats them every week, they never get the chance.

Each week the servers should have the activity data checked and updated. Should a server’s primary active hours completely change or should their WvW player base grow exponentially or shrink rapidly, they should then be moved to a different set of servers.

A set of servers would consist of 6 servers with similar activity, playerbase and player skill. Each week a random set of servers would compete. This would allow a large number of server compositions. For example, Servers A B and C might be together and D E and F might be together, but next week it might be ADE and BCF, with the following week being DAC and EBF and so on. This provides more sever match-up variation with servers and we wouldn’t be seeing t8 remaining the same for months upon months, with the very same servers going at it ever week.

I would really like to see this system or perhaps a more refined version of it put in place. It would help balance out the servers and make world vs. world much more fun. I understand this is partially a suggest, but the key part of this is having the server tiers reset. The key issue with world vs. world is that many servers have inflated or deflated rankings and should not be in the tiers they’re in.

Guild Roster Improvement/Officer Panel

So if you’re an officer or higher (or the equivalent in your guild) and you run a large guild with over 100 people, you’ve probably found it’s extremely difficult to keep track of who ISN’T active in your guild and who isn’t representing. This is an issue that needs to be fixed in order to prevent guilds from becoming bloated.

So here is my proposal (and it’s been suggested before, but we’re months and months into the game without a feature that should have been around at release and was in the original)

Last Active
This would be another column in the roster section. It would be the exact same system as GW1 with a (1 – 24) hours, then (1 – 7) days, (1 – 4) weeks, (1 – 12) months and then years.

So it would look like this:
GuildMemberJohn [level, crafting, achievement points, zone, etc] 4 days
GuildLeaderStacey [level, crafting, achievement points, zone, etc] 1 week
GuildRecruitMark [level, crafting, achievement points, zone, etc] 2 hours
GuildOfficerKelly [level, crafting, achievement points, zone, etc] Active
GuildProbationMartin [level, crafting, achievement points, zone, etc] 1 month

Also, a “Last represented” column would be useful and follow the same system

Officer Panel
This is a feature that, while not necessary, would be extremely useful to officers and leaders of a guild.

Officer MOTD
This would function the same way as a regular MOTD, but only the leader would be able to put information here.

Influence Gained Section
This would be a small section with all members listed, like the roster with the amount of influence they have personally gained for the guild. For example “GuildMemberPat 2,000” The reason this would be useful is that it assists in showing who is actually getting out in the community with their guild tag on and DOING STUFF, as opposed to who is standing around in Lion’s Arch, not doing anything and it also helps to see who is potentially worthy of a promotion (i.e. members with higher influence gained for the guild are likely to have been with the guild longer and have represented more often, thus being more recognized within the guild and such)

Officer Chat
This would be a separate chat system, within this panel. It would allow officers and leaders to communicate together about certain guild plans, issues, events and general topics. It would work exactly the same as the regular chat panel, though with the panel open [Enter] would function as the “begin chat message” for the Officer Chat instead of regular chat.

Upgrade Plan
This section would hold information, in text form, that would allow the leader to detail to officers their desired upgrade plans. (i.e. Build Politics level 4, then Art of War 2, then Economy 6. Build karma banners daily and place them in LA at X time. Build Increased MF whenever possible" and such. This would be useful as in a large guild with multiple officers/senior officers and even multiple leaders, the upgrades system can get a bit out of control, with people starting and stopping and rearranging upgrades all the time.

These few additions to the guild system would vastly improve it as far as administration is concerned and the most important addition is definitely the “last active” and “last represented” feature. I can not stress how necessary this is for a guild to cull inactive members.

I’d like the hear other people’s thoughts on this suggestion and some possible improvements/additions to it and for the sake of all guild officers out there that we get an activity monitoring system in soon.

Risen Priests of Balthazar

Whilst I, like any other person, love free miniatures, this is getting a little ridiculous.

Open opening Karma Boxes, on 3 occasions I’ve received a Risen Priest of Balthazar. Now, at first, I was ecstatic. Like, hey it’s a mini! The second I didn’t really mind, because it’s only two, but I’ve recently gotten my third and begun to wonder… what use are they?

They aren’t at the moment, so thus I’d suggest adding some mystic forge recipe for them., or make them a little rarer.

So I recently got my Sunrise and upon equipping it I got the little achievement, but upon checking my badges, there was no Legendary badge. I am aware this is a known bug for both Twilight and Sunrise (but funnily enough, not eternity)

So my question is this:
Is this intentional and Eternity being the only Greatsword that counts or is this in fact a bug? If the latter, is there a fix being worked on?

Ecto Drop Rate Nerf

So I’m 90% sure that the ecto rate has been nerfed.

I’ve recently been salvaging rares with my perfect kit and am consistently getting no ectos. This has only been after the update. It used to be more times than not that I’d get an ecto, but now I’m getting none almost constantly.

This has only been since the recent update. I’m not fond of using my black lion kit and not getting an ecto. Each use equals out to be about 30s or just under 30cents. More to the point, I’m not getting t6 mats, which I should at least.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Totally agree. It’s difficult to remove inactive players unless you keep a list yourself. This really should have been introduced at launch. The feature was part of the guild system in Guild Wars 1, so I fail to see why it isn’t in Guild Wars 2.

Firstly, I want to make it VERY clear. This post does not support violation of the rules and does not support botting.

Macros
Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol.
This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.
For example, if you Press A and it results in the casting of a single skill, you’re ok. If you Press A and it casts multiple spells, you’re not ok

Now, the parts in bold are what I take issue with. Simply google “Definition of macros” and you get the following:

A single instruction that expands automatically into a set of instructions

ArenaNet’s stance actually disallows the use of actual macros and this is what I take issue with. Were I to set a macro on my G15 keyboard to say hit “ZXC”, which is what I have my utilities set to on my warrior (set as 3 shouts), I’d be in violation. I feel this is silly. Efectively ArenaNet’s stance, unless I’m mistaken, says “We do not allow macros, but we do allow you to use shortcut keys”

I can agree with ArenaNet taking a stance that would disallow the use of lengthy macros, i.e. one that would effectively complete a dungeon for you.

I believe ArenaNet needs to draw a line somewhere, but not here. A macro is used to perform a set of actions, not a single one and I think the definition was somehow lost in Gaile’s post. I’d urge ArenaNet to revisit this, as their current stance does NOT allow macros, but just extra keybindings.

To finish, I’d like to reiterate what I said earlier, I do not encourage or support the use of botting programs, scripts or anything that would provide anyone with significant advantage in game, nor would I suggest using “G-Keys” to fire off more than 1 skill. I suggest to ArenaNet that they revisit this policy or at least reword it into a simple “No, Macros are not permitted”

Also, should this thread be in the wrong section, I’d ask that any moderators or ArenaNet staff kindly move this and if I have misread or misunderstood the post made by Gaile, that I be corrected. Thank you.

This thread is almost laughable.

I don’t mean to sound like an elitist, but Fireheart rise is roflstomp easy. Unless you’re running full rare Beserker’s gear, facetanking everything, not dodging, running full signets, it’s easy.

I mean… I could understand this from maybe an Ele, but a warrior? Please. We’re the kings of PvE. We are nearly the strongest in damage and tank aspects.

I’m sorry, but this has to be a troll thread.

Hey guys!

Been trying to purchase gems (recently came into a decent amount of cash from several different places, decided to blow some of it on GW2). I keep encountering an error that asks me to “Confirm my identity”

I’ve tried with paypal and my CC. Both do similar things. I’ve sent in a ticket: 130130-000311

Any chance you guys could help? All my details are correct.

As a sidenote: I called my CC company they said there hasn’t been a flag or anything placed on my account. I’d just go out and buy gem cards but they aren’t sold in Australia

I agree with almost everything currently said.

Legendaries should be LEGENDARY. Not I HAVE 1.7K GOLD.

That’s actually what it costs for Sunrise and Twilight. 1.7k GOLD

The lodestones are totally bullkitten. Why is it over 4g to buy a single lodestone for Sunrise? Shouldn’t all legendaries be equally legendary? Hell, why should I have to farm for MONTHS on end to get a single, minor part of my legendary. No lodestone should be worth more than 1g. 100g sounds reasonable.

The same with precursors. Did you know that currentl, for the price of Dusk, you could buy almost TWENTY Rages. Rage is the precursor for the harpoon gun.

Now, of course, nobody wants the harpoon gun and that’s fine to expect there may be a little difference in price, but 20x the price? JUST for the precursor? That’s insanity.

Not only this, has anyone taken a look at the prices of elaborate totems? They’re sky rocketing. 70g just for a stack.

Lodestones from Vendors

Okay, so everyone is aware that lodestone prices are insane right now. 4 gold for a single charged lodestone? 3 for an onyx? 1.5 gold for a destroyer?

You’ve got to be kidding.

I propose that there be some Vendor that offers lodestones, for a REASONABLE price. Say… 1g at most. To make this perfectly clear though, this isn’t about making legendaries EASIER to get, it’s about making legendaries less about the trading post.

Or one better, offer lodestones for Karma. Account bound, of course. A reasonable price would be 5k karma per lodestone. That means someone going for say… Sunrise or The Juggernaut would need 500,000 karma to buy their lodestones. To me, this is much, much more of an achievement than spending insane amounts of cash.

They could even have them available from those new daily reward things.

The overall idea is to provide a way to obtain lodestones that isn’t “Farm CoF/CoE/TA 20 times a day, for a month”

Tokens for Lodestones

So at the moment Lodestones are insanely expensive and practically unfarmable. The Charged Lodestone ranges anywhere from 3.5g to 4g most days and the Onyx Lodestone sits at around 2g with most others ranging from 70g – 1.5g

This is a problem, especially when you’re looking at legendaries which require 100 of them. Yes, legendaries are meant to be HARD to get. But this isn’t the case. Legendaries are currently whoever has the most cash and that is a problem.

My suggestion is that we can exchange dungeon tokens for lodestones, cores, shards, etc.

How?

I’d say maybe 60 – 100 tokens per lodestone. That means people can get about 3 per day, meaning for someone who wants say… Sunrise, you need to farm CoE A MINIMUM of doing each path once a day for 34 days. That’s still difficult, but it’s helping reduce the GOLD VALUE of legendaries. These lodestones could even be souldbound or accountbound and the regular ones still drop.

Thoughts?

For starters, I’d like to address that most of the lurkers on 4chan don’t think memes are funny. In fact any use of them is highly discouraged and the person using them is promptly called a ‘newfag’ and told to ‘gtfo’. Also, I’m not sure you understand what a troll is, in any sense of the word.

However, I agree with you on the fact that the “LE EPIC MAY MAY LAWL XD FAYCES” need to go. This isn’t Reddit. This isn’t 9GAG. This is Guild Wars 2. Sure, add in the occasional pop-culture reference, but memes aren’t the way to go.

Memes need to stop. They aren’t funny. They have an expiration date of a week for most. Sure, the first little while of beta was great. You’d go “Oh hey, I get that reference” but after that it’s extremely frustrating and just stupid.

TL;DR
Mostly agree with what the OP says.

In my opinion, the Arcing Slice bug where it gives Might isn’t bugged as OP suggests, IIRC in beta it actually gave might as well. Seeing as LITERALLY NOBODY uses this rubbish skill in it’s current Fury for 11s state, I would think that the additional might would make it worth using… though 15 stacks seems a tad bit OP. With this, Signet of Might (though I’d choose FGJ) and Signet of Rage, you could almost permanently have 25 stacks of might, or 875 Power and Cond Damage at level 80 (which is insane).

Add Five hits of auto-attack, OMM and then 100b and that should give you a 15k 100b, give or take a little with crits.

Personally, I think it SHOULD give might as well as Fury, as the description states, but maybe only 10 stacks at cap.

Anyway, I think the bug is that it isn’t applying Might correctly.

It happened on GW1, only a few of these unusual players stayed, almos all players are civil and really know how to do something and even try to be helpful. The problem was only with some people that never listen to party leader and things start to be reall nervous.

It NEVER happened in GW1 because you COULDN’T kick someone in an instance.

Worse thing that would happen is people would intentionally mess up the run (i.e. a Terraway team would have T2 just intentionally AFK, or a FoWSC someone would pull griffs into a mob)

This should be the way teams operate in dungeons in GW2 or at LEAST 3 people have to tick the box, not just 2. The set up at the moment is incredibly unfair.

Yes, granted, sometimes you get a really bad person that has to be kicked, but that should happen BEFORE the final boss/3rd fractal. You don’t kick someone when the dungeon is about to end UNLESS they are actually hindering your progress.

The GW1 community, in general, was quite an amazing community, however Guild Wars 2 had attracted many people and yes, that includes the LAWLSOFUNNEH Le Reddit crowd, who are often known to bring with them extremely immature child-like people (though I don’t mean to generalize).

TL;DR ArenaNet needs to implement things to combat this behaviour.

I’m more than certain I’m not the only one who has experienced this bull kitten.

Being kicked at the END of a dungeon, before the chest or during the final boss. This behaviour is disgusting. If someone has stuck with you for the entire dungeon, you do NOT kick them. It is plain rude.

ArenaNet should not even allow this. I have experienced this about 3 times in the last few fractals runs I’ve been doing, not because I’m a bad player but because of differences of opinion and people just being trolls (bad ones at that).

This should be a reportable feature or removed from game. It’s the reason a party leader must be established and/or you can still progress outside the party.

The major problem being, people will decide to start an argument and then WAIT until the end of the dungeon to kick you. Now, I am aware that it requires two people, but we all have been victims of this and know how it works.

This behaviour is beyond frustrating and must stop. It’s quite possibly one of the worst offences someone can commit in game (I’d put it alongside scamming, honestly. You are taking someone’s time, effort and arguably money (from repair costs) and preventing them from getting a reward. I don’t see much of a difference).

What is everyone else’s thoughts on this?

The two suggestions in this thread are far, far better than what’s already in place.

You see, ArenaNet didn’t think Legendaries through.

The Gift of Mastery is the ONLY gift that makes sense. It requires skill to achieve, not money.

As it currently stands, if you want to acquire Sunrise, it costs almost 1000g. Now, don’t tell me you’re actually going to farm everything. That would take ~2000 hours and you know it. The 250 of each rare material? The 250 Ectos? The Mystic Clovers? The 100 lodestones? None of that makes ANY sense.

The Precursor for Sunrise? It’s the most expensive part unless you get EXTREMELY lucky and get it as a drop or manage to get it from the forge, which is the only reasonable way to do it.

Legendaries should show SKILL, not MONEY. This was the case of FoW armour in GW1, but funnily enough, it was actually a gold sink because ectos were a currency. Legendaries aren’t. I understand that they’re meant to be hard to get and take months to obtain, but seriously? They’ve just become “I can work the TP better than you can”

If you overcome the hurdle of money, it’s maybe 2 weeks of work at most.

A gold buyer could effectively obtain a legendary for $150, which is rather sad because I’m sure someone could get away with it.

The methods suggested above make so much more sense. The Precursor should be dropped at a 5% rate (requiring a maximum of 20 times to kill, on average) from a relevant boss in the world. The legendary should require dragon kills. The legendary should NOT require effectively 2 stacks of ectos. It shouldn’t require 100 lodestones. It shouldn’t require 250 of every t6 material. None of that makes sense.

Actually, in GW1 the gravity was overwhelming, that’s why you couldn’t swim nor jump.
With the demise of the great destroyer, the planet core got less dense and you were able to jump while advancing and swimming.

Now, before I begin, this is to an extent satire, so keep that in mind, though this actually does make sense.

In Guild Wars 1, you couldn’t swim. You could stand head height in water, but you couldn’t swim. In Guild Wars 2, you can swim.

Abaddon. The God of Secrets and Water. Slain by Kormir and her allies. Guild Wars 2 takes place 250 years after the Fall of Abaddon and the Rise of Kormir.

What if, when Kormir became a God, she learnt that swimming is actually possible? What if she then released this “secret” and Tyria began learning to swim? With the domain of water freed unto Lyssa and the domain of secrets and knowledge released unto Kormir, the secret of swimming was no longer that. A secret. Tyria could now learn.

Over the next 250 years, Tyrians across the globe eventually figured out how to swim.

Thoughts? I know this sounds insanely ridiculous, but there is nothing in canon lore that explicitly speaks about a character swimming during or before the events of nightfall, to my knowledge. Yet after Nightfall and Eye of North, you begin to hear of people swimming. Coincidence? I think not.

There is a big problem here:

You can’t actually make money in the game.

Seriously, it’s just not possible. In GW1, you could run UW and FoW and DoA and Urgoz and all that stuff. You could run the elite areas… and it was fun.

Guild Wars 2 just doesn’t have that. If I wanted, I could run heaps and heaps of FoW runs and ACTUALLY GET RICH or have enough money to purchase highend items.

GW2 lacks this. Money making has come down to farm 1 or 2 events in Cursed Shore, which is a problem, because the more people farming it, the less money you make. GW2 just needs a better system to make money.

The Pale Tree is not an Elder Dragon
The reasoning:
Elder dragons, CORRUPT life and magic, the Pale Tree CREATES life.
I understand that people will use the CoE as an example, however, the “tree” corner is only representative of NIGHTMARE. The nightmare is NOT evidence to support that it is the pale tree’s natural state. We can see this in the Personal Story quest where you meet another Sylvari from a different tree. He is NOT corrupted or within nightmare. Also, if you knew anything about what the pale tree actually was, you’d understand that it was PLANTED. Not created. The Elder Dragons have always been, the pale tree hasn’t. It was a seed. Case closed, theory destroyed. End of story.

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!!

The Gods Already Had Their Power
The Gods actually had to get to Tyria. There is evidence for this is Orr. They actually state several times about this. Also, Balthazar held the head of his FATHER, Dhuum isn’t really spoken much about, though he has nothing to with Ice, that’s Abaddon’s domain at the time. Abaddon had a predecessor, as stated by the Apostle. This is possibly Arachnia, however she is not cannon lore. Abaddon is God of Knowledge and Water, however this power is transferable between gods. It became Grenth’s domain (Water elementalists worshipped Grenth in GW1’s time) and then when Kormir ascended to godhood, Lys and Illya (aka, Lyssa) took it over. Lyssa is actually two gods. Primodious is more heavily associated with EARTH rather than fire. Balthazar is not. Zhaitan has nothing to do with Dwayna, period. He has to do with undeath, arguably Dhuum’s domain, however Dhuum never allowed for resurrection or undeath. Lyssa has nothing to do with Energy.

Again, your theory comes apart here.

If you were actually well versed in lore, you would understand ALL of this and not bother with such rubbish theories. Yes, your theory is kitten. Just like the Pale Tree theory. The Elder Dragons = Anything theory does not make a single ounce of sense. It just doesn’t. They don’t match up with anything, other than LOOSELY the races (Charr=Kralk, Asura=Prim, Sylvari = Zhaitan, Norn= Jormag, Human = DSD, but that’s where it falls apart, the DSD)

Also, if you’re looking for a Sixth Elder Dragon, look for the community named “Celestia”. Evidence shows there was six or is six and that it is possible Kuunavang represents a celestial elder dragon. Though this is wild speculation, though based upon better evidence than the Pale Tree theory.

This is pretty poor on ArenaNet’s behalf. The fix was supposed to come in ONE MONTH AGO.
