Yeah I’m getting a little tired of people claiming PvE content is what’s ruining the WvW match for them. Every server has to deal with that, and I honestly don’t believe that we have a bigger WvW population than either TC or YB.
For whatever reason you guys definitely outnumber YB in pop.

We have a fantastic WvW community and queue times will be non-existent for your time zone. We’re in tier 3-4 so there’s good competition.
That’s the bit that concerns me: When the game launched, culling wasn’t present. It was introduced in the first week or so after launch. I.e., it was put in intentionally. And it could be taken out. But it’s not being taken out. It’s being left in and modified instead.
Yep I have wondered why they don’t just simply roll back those changes.

Anet please communicate with the class forums better you have to let them know where you’re going with the class.
Fast hands only is broken on the very first swap after you turn it on our load a map. After that it works. Fixing that first time bug is extraordinarily difficult, but we think it is worth it to keep the trait.

You can’t ignore the fact that Evasive Arcana was too powerful and mighty like it was.
It wasn’t that powerful. It was functional.
After the latest nerfs to Elementalist you really need to communicate with us about where you’re going with the class because right now its becoming worthless.
I don;t really care that they were technically bug fixes why not change the description for evasive arcana so it does produce blast finishers?

I’ve asked this before but I’ll just reiterate in the hope that anet will read it but what will happen to armor from other dungeons? Will it remain exotic?
If the stats are hardwired into the items without being able to put runes in then its possible players may not be able to get a configuration they’re happy with and will stay with exotic.
The question I want answered is how gear from other dungeons will be affected? Will they remain exotic?
You know how I know you didn’t play Guild Wars 1? Because I had a full suit of max stat gear before I even had my first level 20 (The max level in GW1) The game worked that way for 7 years. I know that in WoW and other MMOs that your used to there’s effort required to be an even playing field with everyone else.
And this was how GW2 was meant to work based on their publicity, only its not. The grind for exotic gear may not be that much of a grind but its a grind nonetheless and its a fallacy to state, as some have, that exotic is something you pick up in the normal course of playing the game.
Who is going to farm the unique dungeons in the game when the Fractal of the Mists is the place you go to get the best gear?
This worries me too, what are they doing with the unique armors from the other dungeons.
This appears to alleviate the issue of having to grind PvE for Ascended WvW gear. It suggests it will be available through WvW.
Hope it won’t be through badges where some classes have a massive advantage.
I didn’t play beta. I hear damage was higher. Seems they nerfed the damage but didn’t fix the cast times / splash radius to put things back in line.
This is exactly right the nerf was a knee jerk response without a really considered solution and whats annoying is that they don’t seem to regard it as such.
I’m definitely in camp 1 and then we can at least get a better idea of where the class is.
IMHO class changes should be iterative not big bang, unfortunately anet doesn’t seem to have the same opinion.
The new ascended armour will be wearable in WvW.
ALso do not fear the new armour, its only a minor bump up.
Extra 5 on precision and power for 1 item. Extend it to full armor and jewelry and its an extra 55, thats significant.
Plus the extra 7% magic find.
For me conquest is fun but it gets repetitive they need to mix it up at least for the casual pvp players like me.
Paids can keep conquest if that’s what the devs want the esport to be.
I agree sPvP has become too repetitive for casuals. I prefer SWTOR pvp to it which is something I never thought I’d say when GW2 launched.
I agree with all of what you wrote.
It really showed a lack of forethought on their part to allow these articles to release with such vague information. They are really doing themselves a lot of harm by not saying anything else. It was quite a long time ago they mentioned the blog post, and then nothing.
Anet’s communication in general is shocking. They allow issues to fester.
What is currently in this game is not a gear treadmill. It is just gearing up your characters. Masterwork/Rare are easy to get and then Exotic is what you put the effort into to make your character the best it can be. You don’t even need masterwork/Rare to get exotics. We have already put all our time end effort into getting Exotics and in some cases multiple set for different builds, thinking that will set up our characters for the all the new content they add, but now it seems we have to start the grind again for even better stats.
I wouldn’t describe the current exotics as a treadmill but there’s definitely grind involved.
People in the merge thread are saying anet twitter posts hint that this is a huge misunderstanding by the gaming sites or something?

supposedly its at the same level as Legendary weapons, just Ascended is what the name is for the armor. Of course until Anet lays it out clearly it will all be speculative.
Legendaries are the same level as exotic.
I’ve just spent most of the night Aust. time fighting TC in YB BL and EB, some good battles.
Not true, bunkers are typically staff, due to 2x water field + 2 to 4 x dodge (energy sigil and extreme case adventure runes)
Also bunker staff healing ability doesn’t go down without the bug, its just easier with the bug (you can switch attunements and get the 2nd effect and blast finisher). My friend doesn’t double dodge water because he loses to much damage, or the blind from the other attunements.

As it stands, Necromancers, Rangers and Engineers are in the worst state of things (between bugged/broken traits and class features). Elementalists may have a handful of issues, but there are higher priorities right now.
I play both ranger and engineer as well, IMHO Ele is as much of a priority as those 2.
After seeing this video I hope Anet developers do one of the following:
I. Ban the poster for exploiting
or
II. Close the loophole allowing such game-breaking self-healing.
No matter how amazing the player is, this should not be possible.
Its quite possible or even probable that that build will be nerfed but to call it an exploit or botting is ridiculous. Read up on how the build produces boons and keeps them up for a long period.
And you guys are looking at this not from a Guild Wars 2 standpoint.
Arenanet does not want you to grind so therefore antigrind mechanics.
Anything exotic requires grinding whether from gold or from exotic mats. The endgame loot is built around grinding and farming then they go and put mechanics in pace to discourage it. Too much stick not enough carrot.
I’ve been at lvl 80 for at least 6 weeks now, and spent a fair bit of time in TCS farming with magic find gear, I’ve never had 1 exotic drop, not 1, that to me is discouraging.
As for Anet wanting to discourage farmers in their response to the outcry over the diminishing returns they said they want legitimate players to be able to farm.
Every class is getting changes, with Mesmers having the fewest bullet points, and Engies the most.
For all you know Eles are getting the second most.
The implication from Peters is that rangers are getting the second most.
Moa and confusion are 2 counters I believe

This is pretty much what happened, the outmanned buff appeared, CD’s assault failed, which meant all your attention was on us and you outnumbered those of us who were left by a lot. It was obviously by then that we weren’t going to get through. Great battle.

Windborne Speed (Air 4) cures immobilized, chilled, and crippled. I use it all the time. Since I rarely use Air 4 in battle, its almost always off cool-down.
Windborne speed is staff, bunker eles are typically D/D.
As a staff ele in last weeks WvW I encountered Fort Aspenwoods group of bunker eles. There’s not much doubt there will be some sort of nerf because they do border on unkillable despite using immobilize via shockwave on them.
Ok so, right now, if you’re in TC borderlands you’ll see a 40 man zerg PvDooring. Want to know why?
We just defended the garrison with a skeleton crew from both CD and Yak’s trebbing it at the same time, with breaches, and fending them off to the point where they completely gave up.
I was on the YB side and we just couldn’t get through, well defended. I got in and on the walls a couple of times but ended up being cut down.
Yaks are the biggest whiners I have seen in all the match ups.
Thats rather ironic given the amount of FA whining at the beginning and comments about how FA were going to wipe the floor with YB. The match seems to be ending on a relatively good note pity you have to go and spoil that.
The complaints about server transfers since midway through are mainly about the refusal of FA to acknowledge them when the pop increase has been obvious to your opponents and when there are forum posts stating what transfers have occurred..

-Remove the hotjoin 8v8 altogether.
People have been calling for this since beta 3 when it was obvious that 8v8 was not ideal for the maps as designed. Pretty ridiculous to design maps around 5v5 then increase it to 8v8
According to Jon Peters in the mists a few hours ago:
- The profession part of the upcoming patch notes is roughly 5 pages long.
- ~16 bullet points for rangers.
- ~30 bullet points for engis.
But nothing for Ele’s <sigh>
