I’d like to see more Keg brawl and less sanctum sprint in the rotation.
Rune of Perplexity will be available in pvp after the patch. Engi gonna be Imba.
I bought some BL keys. Last chance to get a Tormented weapon!
I have all sorts of pvp mats that are getting deleted and I have no glory o o anything with these mats.
Please no.
The price of dyes from the last set prior to the current set are still tiny compared to the gold price of the gems. People still feel ripped off. The Flame/Frost and toxic dye pack have been brought back twice and another dye pack was around a full month.
Plus the price of dyes is going to crash hard after the patch with all the free dyes they plan to give out + all the dyes players are making right now from inverted laurels + all the dyes that players have to make between now and then to spend glory + common dyes from the dye pack.
Maybe when Fling dye passes 30 Gold, it’s time for a sale, but until then…
Minions are just utility skills, and have no synergy or relevance with Death shroud. I’m glad that after the patch we will not have an entir trait line devoted to them.
Hell, they could be described as reskinned guardian spirit weapons. A minion on a weapon skill would go a long way to changing this perception.
it depends on whether new players keep joining the game. Is an expansion coming soon? None is announced.
If new players keep coming/old players return, then the market for unidentified dyes will rise to some point until anet starts holding gemstore dye sales. The market for common dyes will also hold.
If the game stays occupied with die hards, most players will have unlocked most dyes and the prices will rise to a speculator driven high, but stocks wolnt really sell. A lot of rich players will be left holding lots of dyes, paper millionaires without any real way to access their gold.
How much was the dye market already inflated by the bifrost? Dyes were 2 silver before people started trying to craft the bifrost, and a change to 100 dyes needed is just 7 weeks worth of laurels, including monthlies. (Expensive, but in line with legendary requirements).
CC is the only necromancer heal that is not nerfed/deactivated by death shroud.
No, healing in DS should be a standard feature of the class.
1. Food
2. The whole blood magic line, including healing power siphons and the 5 point regeneration minor trait
3. Teammate heals
4. Our own heals (It is not a coincidence that most of us use consume conditions which is the only heal not nerfed by death shroud).
All of the above should work in death shroud. The only thing we have that might be Imba is transfusion (and even then maybe not since it is so easy to interrupt).
Plus even with all of the above working, an unstrippable regen that activates while in death shroud is nonetheless worth considering.
The healing sig actually gets more powerful thanks to the ferocity nerf. The sigil change is a big buff.
The change to pin down doesn’t matter, as long as the shot doesn’t root you during the cast. It’s the same.
The map is not good at all for roaming/small points. You can solo the camps and the sentries, but that’s all you can do by your self.
So what happens is the factions all Zerg up, and there is a (usually only one) big zerg vs zerg fight. As soon as one Zerg loses, people quit in droves. Why play on a zerg map when your zerg cant win because the other zerg is bigger? Once this fight happens, one Zerg leaves and the remaining Zerg does champ train by itself.
That’s what Edge of the Mists is.
With free transfers available for the next couple of days, I thought that it would be a good idea to compile estimates of server size using the number of players in the PvE achievement leaderboard as a proxy for server activity.
We all know that the most dedicated WvW players are not very high on the leaderboards, but the leaderboard players are very active players who do spend time in WvW. This could be a tool for you to guesstimate coverage (and up to date too) going into the season. After all, whatever is happening today will change when PvE achievement hunters flood WvW.
(Not just WvW coverage but PvE coverage could affect you decisions on where to transfer)..
Severs and ## on the leaderboard: (Unaudited, probably a slight mistake here or there)
Jade Quarry: 144. Gold
Blackgate: 129. Gold
Tarnished Coast: 91. Gold
Sea of Sorrows: 74. Gold
Sanctum of Rall: 69. Silver
Fort Aspenwood. 63. Silver
Yaks Bend: 60. Silver
Dragonbrand: 53. Gold
Maguuma: 51. Gold
Stormbluff Isle: 47. Silver
Henge of Denravi: 33. Silver
Crystal Desert: 29. Silver
Darkhaven: 24. Bronze
Borliss Pass: 21. Silver
Sorrows Furnace. 19. Bronze
Isle of Janthir: 19. Silver
Northern Shiverpeaks: 16. Silver
Emhry Bay: 16. Bronze
Gate of Madness: 14. Bronze
Kaining: 10. Bronze
Fergusuns Crossing: 9. Bronze
Anvil Rock: 7. Bronze
Devonas Rest: 4. Bronze
Erredon Terrace: 3. Bronze
Using the above to guesstimate approximate server activity would project Blackgate o be over 6 times as active as my home server, Borliss Pass. This seems…. Accurate.

God I hope this doesn’t happen. Pvp monthly was in a good spot before
+1.
Of course anet manipulated the market, releasing information about changes to the dye system on the same day that new gemstore dyes were released.
Players who buy up the old identifying dyes for the purpose of destroying them to get unidentified dyes are also playing their part. All is proceeding as planned.
Maybe the return of the Super Adventure Box that launched exactly 1 year ago.
My guildie got continue coins from either a drop or chest yesterday.
Just want to add that it’s probably a good idea to power level alts to at least lvl 60 before the patch, so you wolnt have to run around the whole world multiple times just to unlock basic traits.
Toxic Sharpening stone can get you all the way to 500, all you need is a bunch of bloodstone dust.
Don’t worry about the expense, because it is a profitable craft. You will make money crafting it.
The other thread has a Dev post noting that the unidentified dyes needed for bifrost will fall to 100.
Together with the Wardrobe being able to reproduce bifrost skins for alts, the potential for these to be the new Doubloons seems remote.
However, big picture
The dye changes were designed to raise money in the Chinese gemstore. But we wolnt need the gemstore to unlock the dyes. The price should remain some multiples of last Tuesdays market prices.
This is the Chinese system, designed to raise money for the gemstore, except it will be free here, so a system that might be balanced in China is not going to be balanced here:
In China: dyes are rare but need unlocks and wolnt bottom out because the bifrost needs them
Here: dyes are rare and needed for the bifrost, and they will be consumed rapidly because of the account unlock and the free gamble box aspect,
The only balancing factor is that a lot of people will have a lot of dyes account unlocked, but past practice shows is all that will do is make the blue dyes cheap and get tossed into the forge a lot.
Worst case scenario is that our pvp wardrobe gets deleted, and we lose all of the skins in there, other than as unlocks.
I read on the wiki that this recipe was handed out only during the Nightmare within. Will there be a chance this item will be sold again by a merchant?
I’m not sure about other recipes but shouldn’t “all recipes” be obtainable within the game?
All recipes have never been obtainable in game.
The dragons revelry starcake was never available in game, and was never available in the gemstore.
Queens Jubilee recipes, those were limited time purchasable and account bound.
At least most of the extra living story only recipes end up on the Trading post.
I vote no, because I don’t want to feel like I have to do fractals in order to gear up (fractal ascended drops are way easier to get than crafted ascended drops).
The dye kits are a huge ripoff.
19 of the 25 exist already and, prior to today’s market manipulation, sell for a few silver. In addition the drops are weighted so that you are more likely o get blue dyes than yellow dyes. Drop chance for the rare unique dyes appears to be one in 10.
Converting the gems to gold for one dye pack gets you 18 gold.
Meanwhile, some of the unique dyes from the last set to sell still haven’t topped 17 gold, even with today’s dye buying binge.
Plus the new dyes don’t appear to be that new either. The red one is a carbon copy of wrath dye. Look at the others first before buying.
Buy them now… You will have to do costume brawl from tonics in the future and these endless tonics are cheap and costume brawl ready.
Unless the ‘select ingame rewards’ give a lot of unid dyes it sounds like the main source will be through crafting.
Crafting does not create dyes that can be used for Bifrost.
Neither ones the mystic forge, which gives out pvp account bound dyes.
Main source appears to be from laurels (and black lion chests/gemstore)

We’ll see what the new pvp rewards system is.
The new finisher is good.
The best two are the wurm and the SAB finisher, but this is in the next tier below that itch the had ow assassin and vigil mega laser.
The new dyes, meh.
Lol at paper staff ele complaining about how easy he is to kill.
Anyways I just wanted to add that many of the specs that he complains about are getting a nerf.
It’s hard to tell if guild wars is heading anywhere.
Most of the lasting permanant work from the last year is:
High end: Southsun, TA Aetherpath, Wurm, Tequatl
Pvp Rewards Update: Replacing a confusing system that wasn’t working
QOL updates.
This s all stuff that should have been in the game at launch. The no endgame content raider players needed Tequatl and the Wurm to exist, the pvp system needed refinement, and QOL affects gameplay.
Has we been playing a beta readying or launch or a finished product readying for an expansion?
Warrior Regen was increased.
Crtical damage took a 25% nerf, but healsig only took an 8% nerf. The damage of the people who actually do damage (ignoring those shamans bunkers who can’t kill anybody), falls behind passing warrior healing.
Healsig is more powerful than ever.
I had all of the blue sentinel inscriptions on the market before they were rereleased.
This was by accident. I bought up a lot during the event, and still had them almost a year later. I was just trying to unload them when anet undercut me.
Also, even in a death shroud build you are in Death shroud less than 40% of the time. So spending 30 trait points to get less than 40% regeneration uptime see,s really bad.
I bought 2 stacks (500) of blue sentinel inscriptions because they were cheaper than every other blue inscription on the TP.
I plan to sell them to crafters.
It’s a gimmicky hard counter to certain builds that exist or may exist, that adds nothing to warrior gameplay.
What’s not to like?
Piercing arrows should be standard. That was my suggestion in the CDI. My other suggestion is that no class of skills should require more than 2 traits (this is a big ranger problem, but a lot of skill types would benefit if this was adhered to).
Hell, the warrior longbow pierces as standard.
Im not bothered by read the wind. It’s probably ok.
Exactly, the life gain from this will be minuscule because it will be balanced based on 25 stacks x 5….
Trait gonna suck.
What’s with these traits that don’t work together?
A 30 point trait that doesn’t work with the class mechanic is embarrassing. The best one of these traits is path of corruption, and then only because it frees up a skill slot in pvp.
Power necro is one of the most fun things in this game. How come it is always nerfed?
I’m being serious here. Not once in any game striving to be competitive I’ve seen people being rewarded for losing. It just doesn’t make sense!
I can imagine one asnwer to this question and I’m not liking it: rewards for PvP are becoming casual-based aswell.
Because otherwise people rage quit the moment they start losing.
I mean have you even played in solo Q?
I mostly agree with OP, but their hint that they are removing the Death magic minors wasn’t in the previously previewed trait changes. So, there may yet be one surprises.
I didn’t say bad, I said boring.
Obviously extra toughness is something we all like. Soul Compression does look bad (unless they nerf base on-kill DS generation which none of us want them to do)
5 points per player kill seems nice for Necomancer pvp with risk/reward.
Necromancers seem to tag everything, so getting 15 or more points just for winning a scrum at a capture point should be easy.
They both seem really boring.
I don’t understand Soul Compression at all. It is like GW1 Soul Reaping before a nerf put it on a timer: either you are in a place with a lot of stuff dies and you don’t need it, or you are in a place where hardly anything dies and you don’t need it.
Too bad that the New Grandmaster trait isn’t the new 15 point minor trait: it is about equal in power to the other 15 point minor traits.
We’re moving some traits around and making room for Armored Shroud, which grants bonus toughness while in Death Shroud, and Soul Comprehension, which increases the base life-force gain from surrounding deaths.
Are these the new minor traits?
(Speculation) Soul Compression looks like a 5 pt minor trait and Armored Shroud looks like a 15 point trait. If these are not the new minor traits, are these useable and would you take them. Do these make Death Magic viable?

I think almost all professions, except warrior and mesmer, have gotten stuff they should have had from day one..
It sure seems like net had a whole team working on polishing the game for the Chinese launch, a team that many of us were hoping was working on an expansion.
This is a case of ‘be careful what you wish for’
I expect the cooldowns of all Mesmer interrupts other than F3 to be increased, and I expect the Mesmer staff interrupt field staff #3 I think to get the kitten nerfed out of it.
