is your alt from a long time ago?

I’m asking because there was a point where old characters were grandfathered into the trait system as it is now. doing that caused most people to end up being over-spent on hero points. in other words, the system used more points than were available to your character. when the points are even, you earn points again (one of mine it took until somewhere past level 30 to start earning hero points again after being grandfathered in)

just throwing this out there, just in case

could you click the ‘show details’ and paste the crash log here? it might give an idea as to what’s happening.

if you have only just purchased the game, you need to wait about 5 days from time of purchase/verification for the verification to complete.

After you upgrade a free account, you’ll need to exit the game and log back in to see your permissions change. There’s also a longer delay (up to five days) before mail attachments, the Black Lion Trading Company, and guild banks are unlocked. You should see a message in-game displaying the time remaining before you have full access to these features.

I like the idea, and also nominate:
- Old Lion’s Arch (which for me holds more of an emotional tie than anywhere that now exists)
- Claw Island (also emotional ties)
- Uzolan’s Hideout (because it’s fun, even though it’s probably too small for a guild hall, but something with that theme would be awesome)

you answered your own question I think. people are playing the halloween content while it’s still around (Labyrinth). you can play in SW etc any time, you can only play the halloween stuff now, so people tend to switch what they play when it’s around (from what I’ve seen anyways)

well, ranger might work. warhorn has a bird themed attack, as does greatsword. it has access to bird pets too.
cultural tier 2 looks good for feathery (if coloured right)

have you tried removing the quartz from your bag? sometimes it stop you from being able to do things with collection items

are you using an item/gathering booster? that tends to do a quick re-equip of weapons on all professions as it applies the speed boost after gathering. this unequips engi kits.

without item/gathering boosters, I haven’t seen this issue

next time you crash can you click the show details button and copy and paste it here? it might give a clue as to what’s going on

I’d say doubloons of all kinds, blade shards, shimmering crystals, tenebrous crystals, vision crystals, and lesser vision crystals.

do you have ‘Promote Skill Target’ enabled? this tends to help with keeping a target, even if your camera changes angles, or the enemy runs off somewhere

this is not a bug. story mastery points are awarded once per character/completion, regardless of race.

you can do reward tracks, as mentioned above, or do the repeatable dungeon frequenter achievement (8 different paths anywhere – including story paths) and get the chest of dungeoneering, which gives 150 tokens of your choice.

you can shift-click the item so it comes up in chat, and select and cut/copy it from there. then when you delete them just paste what you copied into the box and deleting the [] around the item name. I find that it’s much easier that way than typing it out.

I like to experiment in the story instances sometimes there is more than one way to do things in them. I like to find those ways…. just in case.

what Inculpatus cedo said above is correct.

the email authentication has been in the game since the beginning (or very near the start, the end of 2012 at least). every time your IP address changed an email is sent to make sure you want to allow the game to connect from the new IP. if you choose not to have the 2-step authentication, your account defaults to email authentication.

if you’re having trouble with the gun, you can kill the guards normally. you do have to do it a specific way though.

first, kill the 2 guards on the stairs (this will save you from having to kill them later), then go for one of the two with the stars over them (the one that’s walking around is the easiest one). when you shoot/hit either of them they will both turn red and run up the stairs, but try to only kill one of them (if you ill both at this point, you’ll have to restart the instance). then talk to Agent Batanga (you might have to wait for the guard to run away up the stairs enough for her to lose interest. don’t worry, the guards run back down). drop the second gun she gives you, and kill the other guard. the instance will continue as normal from there.

it doesn’t fix the gun bug (which isn’t bugged in my game), but might help you continue.

you can download Ping Plotter (www.pingplotter.com) and run the test to a map ip (type /ip into chat in game, then type that into ping plotter) it can show you where the problem is.

we have an out of combat weapon swap… you open your bag and double click a different weapon, and voilà, weapon swapped!

in all seriousness though, I would like the option to have weapon swapping out of combat for those two classes.

I have seen several times where the economy was over-balanced. now I sell nothing that I can’t gather easily. I have been through times where things were worth no more than vendor value on the TP, only to be balanced the opposite way. so, if it isn’t wood or ore or certain plants, I never sell it, whether I need it or not. I might need it at sometime, I may never need it, but I know one thing: I’ll never be buying it off the TP.

if Anet didn’t ‘balance’ things like they have, I’d probably sell off any excess. unfortunately that isn’t the case, so I will continue to be a ‘hoarder’ of materials. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

recipes are account unlocks, so it doesn’t matter who you clicked them on. it unlocks on all your characters.

sounds like your character is wearing an outfit. this covers whatever skin you choose in the wardrobe. if you want your armor skins to show, go to the outfit tab and uncheck the outfit

you have got it, but foundation stones is visually bugged (it doesn’t get ticked on the list)

it is always there until you have completed a certain part in the HoT story, then it goes away.

are you sure all the boxes are ticked? the one next to Guild, and the ones in the next panel (after clicking the arrow next to Guild like in the screenie)?

only asking because the ones in the other panel tend to get missed a lot

if you feel bad for going to WvW to do dailies, why not go into EotM? WvW dailies can be done there, and the reward tracks. then you’re not taking a space from someone in the queue who wants to WvW.

make sure you’ve enabled guild chat properly in the chat options. you need to tick the box next to Guild in chat options, then click the arrow next to it and tick all the guilds listed in the panel there. (screenie to clarify)

you have to play through the episode once on the character you are doing the achievements on before the achievements are active (so a second play through on the same character you can get the achievements). is that what you did?

yes, you need to make 3 Tempered Spinal Blades. there was never a way to change a Dynamic one to a Static one, unfortunately.

it was 100 gold when the game was released and than discounted to 10 gold (but character based), than it became account wide and so 300 gold, i still think it’s unreasonable. some people like me would use it for guild missions and to lead some meta events but not that often to justify the expanse

actually it was 100g, but character based from the start of the game all the way up until it became 300g and account wide.

personally I think the 300g price tag is well worth it, considering it would cost me well over that to get a commander tag for every character I’ve ever used it with with the old 100g per character price tag.

saw earth elementals around there for the first time since megaserver. got excited, thought maybe they’d fixed the temple effect thing. glad to hear the death trap is back too (yes really).

here’s a screenie of the panel once in squad.

according to someone else, having the party/squad IU at the bottom of the screen cuts off the rest of the panel so you can’t see the colour change part.

you have to create squad first, then you can choose a colour

I didn’t expect to like it, but I actually do. the teleport feels more like a smooth movement between point a and b now.
