it is not a bug. the visual effects on the minstrel have been updated in the most recent patch, and legendary visual effects can’t be toggled.

A Full world is a world with a number of active WvW players above a certain threshold. You cannot transfer to or join a world that is listed as Full.

Blackgate is unlikely to fall from full any time soon, so I doubt your friend will be able to join you there.

as far as I know, there is nothing that can remove the account bound status of an item.

I hated, and I mean absolutely HATED being artificially gated by masteries for the HoT story. you can’t even believe how angry I got for being kicked from my immersion in the story by a mastery that wasn’t even NEEDED in the story step. it was arbitrary and pointless, and lessened my experience of it. it took me nearly a year (as in I played it the second time through a month or so ago) to want to replay the HoT story, that’s how much I hated it (thoroughly enjoyed it the second time, and the third).
if they did anything like that again (mastery requirement, but in no way used in the story at all, ever) I would not play anymore. at least not the story part.

how they did the first LS3 was perfect in my opinion. the story was a nice length, the map was amazing, and the mastery required was used within the story itself. a brilliant combination.

you need to remove all Lavasoft programs from your computer (such as Ad-Aware), that is what is causing your crash.

I’ve had mine set to the SAB version for so long (via a playlist) that I didn’t even know there was new music!

funny enough I actually don’t mind that ‘junk’…. apart from the combat boosters. very specifically them. I have over 250 of those useless things. the other boosters are great, combat boosters not so much.

but then, I don’t buy keys often, I mostly use ones I get for free from map completions and story, so I can’t really complain. free is free. so it’s like a free extra gift for doing something.

condi engi isn’t bad with rampager. I still use it on one of mine and it plays fine.

have you finished the Master Scrapper achievement (got by completely training the scrapper line on someone)? or any of the other Master profession achievements? that is a pre-requisite for them being sold at the laurel vendor.

no I mean average WvW participation population over a time span (the specific time span hasn’t been said)

here’s a dev quote about full servers:

A “Full” server is a server with a number of Active WvW Players (as defined by the algorithm) above a certain threshold. It has nothing to do with hardware limitations, or PvE players.
The “Full” threshold is slightly different than the other ones because it doesn’t have an upper limit. So some servers can be just slightly above the threshold and marked “Full”, and some other servers might be well over it, and also marked “Full”, even though their populations aren’t really balanced.
The intent is that since you can’t join or transfer to a “Full” server, their populations are going to diminish over time, until eventually they reach “Very High” again. At this point, all “Full” servers are going to be balanced. This won’t be right away, though, since we’re not kicking anyone out of their servers.

edit: and no, it has nothing to do with how many accounts sit on a server itself.

on the plus side, if your friend joins any NA server, you can still play any of the PvE content with them (thanks to megaservers), just not WvW.

gold farming/sellers have nothing to do with server numbers. server status (full/high/etc) is only measured by WvW participation numbers.

this means that unless the WvW participation numbers for Blackgate go down (doubtful), the server will stay at Full.

flame eye/other elementalist starter headgear has been bugged for a while.
have you tried changing maps? that sometimes gets rid of it.
going under water sometimes gets rid of it too.
also, get a new head piece. if you’ve ever used the flame eye skin on your headpiece, it will get stuck. so replace it.

still might be a corrupted file in there, it’s what it looks like to me anyway. the switching between graphics settings might just give it a jolt, but it’s best to repair so it doesn’t happen again.

it might appear to crash (not respond) during the repair process, but it will continue if you leave it to do it’s thing.

have to disagree, Chris. my time in this game is spent 90% invisible because I just can’t stand the gold seller whisper spam. I get so sick of the whisper/block/report process over and over, that I just go invisible.

this means that right now, most of the time I only chat in map/party/say chat. I don’t particularly like that. I like talking with guildies/friends/etc, but the whisper spam gets too much, and knowing it’ll still be there when I go back to ‘online’, gives me no desire to even select that option.

I don’t see how an option to choose who can whisper me will make me less social. it would, in fact, make me more social, seeing as with that option, I would actually talk to my friends instead of being invisible.

it is bugged, visually. you got it already. if you count the places you need you’ll probably find 3 listed (The Foundation Stones included), but only the other 2 will count to finish the achievement.

have you tried pressing F on them? sometimes I find that works.

try re-installing or updating your graphics drivers. nvd3dumx.dll seems to be causing the crash, which is part of your graphics driver.

your problem is ASProxy64.dll. this belongs to Astrill VPN. not using this program while playing will probably stop the crashes.

sigils work no matter what weapon they are on.

e.g. with sigil of air on dagger, and blood on pistol offhand, you have a chance to proc either while auto attacking with dagger, or using any of your other weapon skills.

have the characters you’re going through the instance with completed that story step before?
I’m asking because the characters need to have been through the story step at least once for it to give the achievement, and it tends to be one of the few things that people forget about season 2.

I was playing the Victory or Death mission earlier (the part in Arah) when something odd happened.

I was on the airship, before the giants part, when I /sit on the deck where the green marker is to wait for the giants. this caused me to be teleported under the floor at the back of the airship.

I was able to use the waypoint on the ship to get out and continue as normal, so it wasn’t a big deal, but thought it was a good idea to report it.

have you checked that you have it turned on in the chat options?

click the little down arrow on the chat tab. make sure the box next to Guild is ticked, then click the little arrow to the right and make sure all those are checked too. checking the one next to Guild doesn’t automatically enable all guild chat (for some unknown reason)

I suppose crafting in bulk would appear to grant more xp, because you see the bonus crit xp all in one crafting session, but I doubt this would be the case if you compared the bonus you got from crafting the same items one by one with the bulk option.

since the person posting was originally a f2p player? maybe? f2p players don’t get to choose a server when they first create an account, like everyone else. they get put somewhere. they get a free transfer because of this when they upgrade to a paid account. all I know.

That message was added because someone died in Korea playing a video game for like 3 days straight (I do not know what game they were actually playing) If I remember correctly, they didn’t really stop to eat, drink or even go to the bathroom and collapsed and died later.

I think it was Starcraft he was playing, but I could be wrong.

I have nothing to really add to the thread, other than I don’t really think this game needs the messages. yes, there are plenty of things that take hours, however, it is easy to afk in a safe place (or go to char select) when you need to leave. not really the same thing as having your entire army of zerglings destroyed because of leaving and losing out on prize money.

your processor is probably the problem. while 4 cores and 8 processors sounds good on paper, AMD CPUs are abysmal at single thread performance. what does this mean for a game like gw2? well, gw2 relies heavily on your processor’s performance rather than your graphics card, which means an AMD CPU can make the game crawl like an infant, because unfortunately the game can’t/doesn’t use all cores simultaneously, which is what the AMD CPU needs to actually perform well.

now you could try turning the settings in the game down, it might help some.

how to fix for realsies? get an Intel CPU

pvp has normalized stats, which means you can wear white gear and be just as effective. the stats on your gear have absolutely no effect in pvp. instead you go into the pvp lobby and choose runes/amulets for your pvp stats in the pvp build panel.

the only real way to gift him the game would be purchasing it, then sending him the code to add to his account.

the f2p account he is using can be upgraded using a purchased game code by logging in on the website with his gw2 login details (www.guidwars2.com >> services drop down menu >> my account), and clicking the redeem code link.

I’m fairly sure that anything not listed can be used as normal. like say chat. that isn’t listed either, but I’m sure f2p users can use say chat. I’m assuming it’s the same for party and guild chat

edit: once they join your guild, make sure your friend has guild chat enabled in the chat options. I don’t remember if it enabled by default.

I played GW1 for a while. was great seeing people running around there again!

I haven’t checked, but I’m pretty sure I lost nothing. all I did after the patch was look at new things that were added and take some screenies.

if you have updated, and noone else in your squad has, then you will not be able to join them. old map instances from before the update can’t be joined by those who have updated.

Canach’s look changed after the Lost Shores event from the one you see in Meeting the Asura, to the now. this is the reason given by Scott McGough for his change:

Canach’s look has indeed undergone a major change since The Lost Shores, and I regret that there isn’t more background available regarding how it happened, but let me address the question here: his change in appearance is almost entirely due to the hardships he’s endured since he escaped Lionguard custody. He’s a fugitive from justice, he’s had Noll’s freelance decommission teams trying to kill him, and he’s utterly alone, so it’s been a tough couple of months for the sylvari fugitive.

Being on the run, fighting for his life, and killing the killers sent after him have weathered Canach; plus, he made a concerted effort to change his look (hairstyle, etc.) so as not to be recognized and arrested by the Lionguard. It’s quite a come down from the high position and status he enjoyed as a secondborn (even if that status was never as high as he thought it should be), and his new, grimmer look is meant to reflect the psychological toll he’s had to pay as well as the physical one.

because agony infusions require level 80 gear. the backpack is level 78. other infusions (although way more expensive) such as the Mighty +5 Agony Infusion can go in the slot though, because they have no level requirement.

just thought I’d reply to your thread again to let you know that recipes got changed not long ago, now they are account unlocks. this means you can consume them on anyone now and they will unlock for all of your characters. thought you’d want to know

if the gem store offered anything you couldn’t get in game, like better stats, unlocking all waypoints, etc, then I’d call it p2w. as it stands now, I don’t.

you don’t automatically win the game (in any sense of the word) by having ascended gear.
