are you talking to Miyani with a character that has completed the HoT story?

you need
the Ascended weapon
Anthology of Heroes (bought from Miyani at the Mystic Forge for 10 spirit shards)
5 Glob of Ectoplasm
an Orichalcum Imbued Inscription (Berserker in your case)

then you throw them all in the mystic forge and you’re done you’ll get a zojja weapon with a crafted ascended skin, so yeah, you’ll need to transmute it if you want it to look different

out of curiosity, how did it glitch out?

while I play all classes, my favourite has to be engi, by far.

why? well, originally it was because the class as a whole reminded me of Data from Goonies (still does), and entering the Fawcett’s Bounty jumping puzzle with one gave me a huge sense of nostalgia.

of course, that isn’t the only reason. I like how engi plays. the explosions, the something for every situation aspect of it, and just the fun of running around with a flamethrower. it doesn’t matter if it’s never ‘meta’, I’ll still have fun playing it.

take a screeny of your collection for chunka and champawat. looking at your side panel it says the collection is at 66%, maybe you’re missing something that has nothing to do with that book (as in maybe you need the book, and something else?)

sounds like you’ve activated auto cast on your heal skill (it’s happened to all of us)

to stop it, ctrl+right-click on a different skill (#1 skill is a good choice). or if you don’t want anything to auto cast, just ctrl+right click your heal skill (it’ll just remove the auto cast)

Possibly it has nothing to do with API system being down. GW2Efficiency has been having that issue for weeks while other websites have worked normally. I believe GW2Efficiency is having some kind of issue.

P.S.: For record, at the time of this post the API seemed to work normally as I had just used an Account Audit thing from a website and it uses mostly the entire API.

they were turned back on 4 hours (or so) ago, so it would be working normally when you made your post

if it is a channelled skill, like flamethrower auto attack and mesmer greatsword auto attack for example, the white damage number adds to itself (infinitely) until you press another skill or the enemy dies. not sure why, but as far as I remember it’s always happened, so it’s sometimes best to ignore the white popup numbers when using them.

other than that I haven’t noticed any difference between the combat log and the white damage text. admittedly though, I don’t pay much attention, so I could be wrong on how accurate it is.

if you’re in an instance /stuck works to get you out of the scenery/random holes/etc. it will teleport you to the last checkpoint after 30 seconds (iirc), so you don’t need to restart

check the in game achievements under Hall of Monuments. even if you’ve done nothing in GW1. linking should give you 3 points towards an achievement. (but you might have needed EoTN for this to happen)

or check in your account page from here. GW1 should have “Active” below it if you’ve linked them on the Overview tab. if not it will say “buy now”.

having the same issue. even with the log in server message.

selling still happens, but sometimes it lags out and the TP UI freezes. after closing it manually nothing else can be sold, I only get a message saying an error occurred. to sell again I have to re-login on that character.

nothing else in the game is crashing/lagging, only the TP. waited almost 10 minutes for the gemstore to load too, but without success.

story mastery points are awarded once per character/completion, regardless of race (the wiki page that you linked even states such).

submit a ticket to support so they can get the information they need to possibly fix it?

are they in a invisible/safebox type bag?

if they are, they will never turn up on the vendor list and things from invisible bags won’t deposit/salvage automatically like other things.

if you don’t want that happening, change the bags out for ones that aren’t invisible/safebox bags

do you have quartz in your bag? that sometimes causes an issue, so asking first

you could try adding /clientport 80 or /clientport 443 to the target line in your shortcut to the game

as for season 2, I’d say buy it if you can, it is seriously worth it (personal opinion), but if you can’t afford it, you can always ask around and see if you can join a friend who does have it to experience the story. you won’t get the rewards like that, but you won’t feel so lost with the story

sounds like power of the mists to me (wvw buffs your world has earned), but I could be wrong. people tend to forget that it’s even a thing (I know I forget)

I haven’t really played with it, but the lifesteal made me wonder: does the lifesteal from the signet stack with the lifesteal that necros get naturally on their downed 1 skill?

Maybe people shouldn’t play only a small part of a game and expect it to be the whole game.

do you have the Exalted Purification mastery? you can only loot the chest if you have that.

I’m not sure about the new zones, thought I can’t speak for Lake Doric because I haven’t played there yet. I really liked bloodstone Fen, but the others I feel extremely meh about. I know why that is too.

if I’d have been allowed to explore them, without the ‘story’ leading me around them by the nose, I’d probably like them, but that one little fact put me off them completely and I’ve only visited Bitterfrost and Ember Bay once. I doubt I’ll ever spend any real time in them.

saying that, I do really like the idea of repeatable hearts, and I like how the new maps aren’t meta maps (that I’ve played). it means there’s plenty of things to do with few people when I decide to go back and give them another chance (which I inevitably will do eventually). I like that they have their own dailies too, and that they are all in interesting places.

Is the main source for good builds (good choices of traits, gear and equipment) some of them have very good guides on how to use the build. I would use fractal builds in dungeons.

People keep recommending metabattle.com to new 80s, but none of those builds are labelled for open world HoT. Is there some general rule that certain builds are good enough? Is the rule the same across all professions?

Please don’t say “It’s open world, use whatever you like.” The HoT zones are more challenging and players post numerous threads saying “I die a lot in the HoT zones.” Obviously some builds are better than others for HoT content. Some explicit direction would be more helpful.

the person you quoted recommended it for dungeon/fractal builds because the OP wasn’t comfortable enough with their build/gear to try them out. in that case, metabattle is a great recommendation.

if you find yourself having difficulty in open world HoT, switch gear out for tankier options (things with toughness, and perhaps take extra condi clears). the traits found in builds on metabattle should still be good. metabattle can be used to give you an idea of what traits work well together, but it doesn’t mean that you have to 100% copy what is there if you find yourself dying. alternatively, you can look at the WvW/PvP (conquest) builds on there, they generally offer more survivability.

the right-click is still there for things that are buyable on the TP. for me anyways. not for things you can’t buy (accountboud inscriptions etc). what are you trying to click where it doesn’t come up?

in an instance you can use /stuck in the chat. it will teleport you after 30 seconds (I think its 30 seconds) to the last checkpoint. the same if you get trapped in scenary/holes/anywhere in the instance you shouldn’t really be.

do you mean the one in Victory or Death (at Arah)?
in that case, you need to wait for it to throw fiery rocks at you (so you might have to stand away from it). they will then be on the ground. pick one up and wait for it to open it’s mouth and throw the rock at it. then you can hit it.

If the price were too low, the supply would all be gone and people who wants one can’t get it

if this is the case why do things end up at vendor value, instead of it all disappearing from the TP? surely vendor value is ‘too low’.

you’ll still keep your characters, I’m sure. your account data/character data is kept on the server, not locally, so it shouldn’t matter if you switch OS.

you need to wait 5 days after purchase/validation (with sms authentication) iirc. the only thing you can do is wait I’m afraid.

no, you need to unlock and complete the raid tracks too to get the repeatable bar + spirit shards.

if this is the first playthrough on that character, then you can’t get the achievements in living story s2. you have to do a second playthrough on the same character for that.

you could convert laurels into heavy crafting bags and sell everything from them. that can net quite a chunk of gold each month without having to really do anything unfun.

you need to wait 5 days from the day of purchase, then everything will unlock. no need to worry, it usually goes smoothly. it happens with all new accounts now.

WvW progress for Gift of Battle:

You can take camps solo (just run off or let the other player kill you if you run into the enemy) and complete non-PvP specific dailies in WvW (Big Spender – you should have some badges of honor from achievement point chests, capture a ruin, camp taker, veteran killer). Just hang around in WvW after taking the camps so that you get progression (hang out far from a camp or back at the home base area).

Just make sure you’ve selected the Gift of Battle reward track.

also Gift of Battle reward track can be selected in Edge of The Mists, which is a much lighter version of WvW, and can be quite enjoyable even if you don’t like PvP encounters.

LavasoftTcpService64.dll is the problem. you will want to uninstall all lavasoft programs, like ad-aware or web companion.

edit: if you have problems removing it, or it doesn’t go after uninstalling, you can try the options from Lavasoft support:

try putting the things in in a different order, sometimes that helps

you can still play the original without the expansion

so maybe stop using alt+f4 and quit the game properly instead?

edit to add: the game often ‘forgets’ where you last were, especially if you were last anywhere near pvp (or activities). this can cause crashes, or loading you into random places in the world. if you have an alt character you can get around it by loading that character first, then your first ‘forgotten’ character. the game will ‘remember’ where you really were then.

you either have to wait until the server becomes not so full (which is determined by WvW population), which can take months. or you can all go to a different server together.

This might sound a really stupid question, but can you actually just walk in this game? As there are times I would actually like to just slowly walk from one place to another rather than normal running / movement speed.

yes, you have to set a keybind for it in the options, but it does exist

You can use the ‘Log In as Invisible/Offline’ option in Guild Wars, and it will keep that status until you change it. I wish we had the option in Guild Wars 2, rather than having to choose to be Invisible before logging out the previous session.

yes you can reinstall without losing anything. character/account data is kept on the server, so you will never lose anything.
