read it once, regretted the time I lost doing so, haven’t read it since. personally I find it boring, but I’m sure there are people who enjoy it.

to be honest, I’d rather this trend. it means that in a years time I won’t have to worry if there are enough people around to do a map meta, or anything else like that. instead I can play there when I want, even if it’s just for fun.

it also has a 60 second internal cooldown, which means it could transfer one effect, but until 60 seconds later it isn’t transferring another. so if an attack pulses an effect, it’s just about useless. assuming it worked to begin with, of course (don’t know if it does or not, I always thought it was useless)

agreed, the spirit that represents family and teachings (among other things) should definitely be the savoir of the day, just for the irony factor.

This was happening to me and a friend as well and I hypothesized that it was because I had restarted my game since a new patch was released, and he hadn’t. (when it says “New build released. Your game will restart in X minutes”) So because we were playing on 2 different builds, we could not join each other’s instance.
Also yes, EU players cannot join NA instances and vice versa
your hypothesis is correct. if a patch happens and one person patches and the other doesn’t, you can’t join them in a map, or in any instances (dungeons/fractals/etc). this is because they are running a different version of the game to you and maps/instances are not recognised as being the same, even if they are.

the green star from personal story on the UI is not able to be disabled. what you turned off was the content guide directing you towards it, which is a different thing.
the only way to remove the green star from the UI is to complete the story.
That would help with the PS unfinished characters. But what about the characters have finished the PS, they’re permanently showing the stars of the LS2 or LS3 chapters, even while the chapter is quit and the option is set to disabled.
the same applies for those who have not done LS2 and 3. they are probably still considered personal story by the game, and even quitting the episodes will re-enable them until they are complete. I’m guessing because I always do the story.
it can not be disabled at this time. changing settings in the content guide won’t make a difference, because the green star in the UI is not part of the content guide.
if you don’t want green story in the UI to continue to be an issue, play until you finish the most recent story on all characters. the story will have to be manually re-enabled for them when a new episode hits, which you can just ignore. I know it seems like a long way to do it, but I’m pretty sure it is the only way to disable it right now.

do you have a program that hides your IP or a vpn running? Easy-Hide-IP? that is what is causing the crash. uninstall it or disable it while running the launcher and it should run fine.
hope that helps
edit: if you need to use a vpn to run the game (I know some people do) wtfast is a good alternative that works well

you can just open the crash log and paste the part between —> Crash <— and —> System <—
or you could save the log, edit your post, click the More posting & formatting options button and attach the file.
the second option would give more details to anyone looking, but either would give clues to what’s happening

have you added the code to your account?
go to your account overview:

and click the add code button at the side.
copy & paste in the code you were sent via email and then click submit.
this will add the upgrade to your account.

you still both see the yellow dot on the map.
If you just turn on invisible, it’ll stay. You’ll need to leave and come back or waypoint for it to update.
tried that. we were both in Rata Sum. I went invisible, blocked him and went into the home instance, waited a while and loaded back into Rata Sum. I even fully reloaded the game (still set to invisible and still had my friend blocked) my friend still saw my yellow dot.
| 61 Asura | 5 Charr | 2 Norn | 1 Human | 1 Sylvari |
If you’ve friended them and they’ve friended you, they can see through the invisible status. Blocking them will prevent that, as well as hiding your guild location.
blocking does not prevent people from seeing your location if they are in the same guild. I just tested it with a friend. you still both see the yellow dot on the map.
saying that, they can’t see where you are from the friends list or anything. but the yellow dots are a big give away, especially if you have a small guild.

I know it’s worrying, and it kind of is a bug, but wait until level 30. sometimes (especially if you complete it with someone else, and it’s their instance) the letter doesn’t appear until the level 30 quest unlocks.
I’ve had it happen a few times as I often play with my gf. she’s usually the one waiting for the mail to arrive.

despite what it says, I’m pretty sure the letter turns up at level 30

How can I force download the 32 bit client?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: nottsgman.8206
rename the downloaded 32bit GW2Setup.exe to Gw2.exe. put that in your install folder (usually C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\). create a shortcut, if you don’t have one already and right-click it and select properties. then in the target box put a space after the last " and type in -32. this will stop the use of the 64 bit version.
| 61 Asura | 5 Charr | 2 Norn | 1 Human | 1 Sylvari |
no, you’d have to restart the story instance with the other person there.

also newer accounts (since f2p came in) have to set up 2 step authorization in order to use certain features, even if you paid.
Effective at 11:59 pm Pacific Time on August 28, 2015, all newly-created accounts will have SMS restrictions. These restrictions mean that you will not be able to use in-game mail to send items or gold, and you will be unable to access guild vaults. If you wish to eliminate these restrictions, simply add SMS or an authenticator to your account and the restrictions will be removed. Account created prior to August 28 will not experience these restrictions.

as far as I can tell gw2skills did update to include the May 17th changes, although it isn’t listed on it’s update page. the October 18th changes aren’t there though.
the only other one I know of is http://intothemists.com/calc/ but I never found it to be as good as gw2skills one.

If you want to remain on the 32-bit client, you may add -32 to the command line used to launch the game client. Please refer to the wiki for instructions on how to modify your command line.

you have probably reached the cap. Halloween dailies also counted as dailies and the 1 ap given was also not given to those who have reached the cap.
There is a cap of 15,000 for daily and now-defunct monthly achievements combined. Once the cap is reached, additional points from the “Daily Completionist” meta achievement will no longer increase the account’s achievement points

Autoloot: Autopickup controls the loot window (the one you’re seeing while gathering).
when it is off, the loot window pops up whenever you pick up loot (from gathering or otherwise), and you have to click each item individually to put it in your bags.
turning it on means loot (from all sources) goes directly into your bag.
this setting does the same thing even with the mastery autoloot (true autoloot?) enabled, and has nothing to do with keybindings.
have you tried turning it on?

all mail carriers show the receiving end of the mail animation, never the sending animation from the hero panel, so I’m not sure this is so much a bug, as it seems to be consistent with all others.
