Just to make sure, can one change ascended gear into the new 4 stats prefixes with the mystic forge without having to craft it that way? Simply by using an exotic insignia/inscription? What is the freaking point of adding fulgurite and all the other garbage to the ascended recipes then? LOL

What are you on about. If one spawns the other side you haven’t lost, lol.

I watched a video once before trying, didn’t even learn correct mushroom jumps – and I got gold after 3 or 4 tries.

I can guarantee you I failed runs after knowing all the spawns, all the mushrooms and all the ways to get from the current mask to the next possible spawns in the shortest possible time as those aren’t fully randomized, there is a limited number of masks that can spawns from each position, I played enough to know that and I know that the time to the next mask can take from 2 seconds up to ~20 seconds of your time and it is all on luck. Getting one or two bad spawns won’t fail you as you can get lucky near the end.

You got lucky. That’s all.

There’s another problem that most complainers don’t acknowledge, either because they don’t realize it, or just don’t want to believe it, but a LOT of people don’t actually understand the SB fight. They think it’s just some big demon dude that shows up, attacks, then lets you attack and then attacks again. They don’t have a CLUE about the portals, which is why so many of them stand in front of it and just fight it when it becomes “their turn”.

I was the same way until very recently when someone in my guild was actually talking about it. I didn’t know you were supposed to knock down the portals, and I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I had done that fight.

What usually happens is someone then complains that noobs don’t know the game, YET NO ONE is explaining it to anyone. Now that I know, I explain it to other people so that they actually fight the portals rather than just stand in the middle and fight the big dude. But what I have discovered is that most of the complainers just complain in /map chat by calling people lazy and then rushing off to do the next fight. RARELY, if ever, do they actually take the time to explain what it is they’re actually complaining about. Mostly, they act like 8 year old kids complaining about a pick up game of football without actually telling anyone who might play again what might help make things better the next time.

Most of these events have a large tooltip box on the top left side like every event describing or showing some kind of info on what should be done, some teach the mechanics of the battle during the chain events leading to the boss. Sometimes there are NPCs sceaming instructions!

I don’t even know man, while some might be too lazy to put some effort into reading/listening to these and actually don’t know what to do, I’d believe most just don’t care because they know someone will do it for them.

I believe that if the 2 skills is mashed you cancel it before doing the jump because of a bug or something, nothing too troublesome as you can just wait a moment before pressing 2 again, just keep the cursor and camera pre-aimed.

Other than that this adventure is one of the most consistent, you can even get to the gold time without having any masteries at all because of the shortcuts available.

Nobody cares because as long as the event is completed there is always still time for the next World Boss. The tasks are boring anyways, so nobody wants to bother with those, and if the rewards are still garbage while the fights become "harder"good luck finding a group to do it, like Triple Trouble already is.

Are you kidding me? Well, good for you my friend, good that you have all the time in the world, it’s not like there are other people around that have other things to tend to, yeah its better this way, let’s have the fight as slow as possible because other people don’t feel like doing their job in the fight.

I had to abandon many events (which otherwise would have been over if everybody worked together), because I’m working on a schedule.

I don’t even bother doing World Bosses anymore, they are not fun, they are not challenging and even the most basic might stacking would reduce the TTK by probably half, rewards are still be garbage, but if you bump them to be somewhat challenging like Triple Trouble is, but without making the rewards worth very few will bother.

But no, what you get is a mouth breathing crowd pressing 1 while waiting Tequatl to land while a few try to stack might to be interrupted by someone throwing light fields on the ground, intentionally or not, I cannot tell.

Please Anet, I beg you....

For HoT – Successful T4 VB night/Octovine/Chak Gerent/Dragon’s Stand meta, Adventures. Those are easy, some options take more time than others but are solid for the amount of effort put into, a good DS meta wih boosters can reach over 2m exp if you try to maximize your participation in all lanes.

Tyria – did my story with level 80 characters, gives a lot even when just doing the level 80 part of the story.

A Fungus Among Us is so easy you can get gold without speed boosts. Not even worth mentioning. If there is another adventure I consider hard it also would be because of RNg, but Shooting Gallery at least can be beaten by good aiming for long distances.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I don’t find them to be confusing after spending some time in them, there are many visual landmarks and the types of monsters in the area that help knowing where you are. In a way I find it easier to navigate in the HoT maps without the map than it is to navigate a map like Harathi Hinterlands without the map.

Even so, a navigation helper like the one you get for the story, but only for places you’ve already visited would probably help a lot, you click the point you want to go to and the arrows will guide you there. You would still need to explore new places on your own without the guide but you could revisit any place easily.

How can you claim this dose not generate gold for the player doing it?The players doing it do it to get more gold, and the more that learn about this exploit and join in the worse the problem gets and it will cause inflation and damage the game.Makes no difference if its gold direct or mats sold to get gold, more gold is more gold.

And where does the gold for selling mats comes from? Oh! Other players, and 15% of that value is remoced from the game. Do you even know how the TP works?

The actual coin you make from running AB is negligible, actually, it is better for me that buy materials in bulk for crafting for you guys to keep doing this AB and selling instantly to the highest bidder on the TP just for some quick coin so I can make money back from you guys later.

Can we talk about how a level 80 can reliably get every tier of metal and wood by hitting the right nodes but will likely only get t5/t6 from salvaging? You can effectivelly farm one ascended Ingot or Plank easily in a short time, but not a ascended Bolt or Leather Square, for those you will most likely need the TP.

For clarification, may I ask what class you are playing? From lurking around the forums, I’ve learned that the class you bring into HoT really can mean the difference between a struggle and a walk in the park.

Just made some random daredevil spec, main thief so I know the class itself really well but as far as daredevil goes its mostly just a shot in the dark. Needless to say it works far better than I expected and I’m having little trouble adapting to all this new content, just wanting it go a step further is all.

As for previous posts, I’ve only explored map 1, barely touched the 2nd one. I’m not against all of HoT, as the title says “so far”, its just from exploring verdant brink this is what I’ve come to that there is some heavy content areas that bring a good challenge and some others that are just filling space with mediocre events and mobs. I know not every inch and corner can be filled with the best but it feels like a lot of it is missing.

Most of the map spots in the HoT areas are bland until the meta hit that specific part of the map, most of the map is used at some part of the meta chain events.

As far as exploration, Verdant Brink is my least favorite area, both in visuals and nature of the events. The day progression feels disconnected to the night phase even if some chains are fun. Night defending phase is just boring to play, enough said. The bosses at the night phase and so far apart and from what you did during the day and defense that I have no idea what was the whole deal was.

Initially I hated Tangled Depths, but after learning the map and how things worked it’s by far my favorite and probably the most challenging map of the expansion. It also has the most varied and unique visuals in the game.

Auric Basin is beautiful but a bit bland to explore, good boss fights make up for it. I also like the Adventures here, but by saying this some people who hate adventures with all their beings might want to kill me…

And I dislike that Dragon’s Stand is completely tied to the meta event, if you cannot taxi into a map progressing it you might as well just quit since there is literally nothing to do around. Doing the meta can vary from fun to frustrating depending on the squads present.

That might’ve been the case, but for whatever reasons that shifted the other way now. Gearing a light/medium armor character is way more costly than gearing a heavy, Elonian squares prices earlier this week were almost the double of Deldrimor ingots on TP. It also doesn’t help even one bit that upgrading the Workshop in the Guild Halls take 50 Elonian squares.

They made it that way to fix an unbalance, so they should probably do it again now that this has shifted.

For DH the match-up is dull because they lack numbers, for us on HoD it’s exciting because it’s possible to win against the superior numbers we’re fighting against both NSP and DH during our night period.

Because there aren’t superior numbers from both DH and NSP at night, in truth, just scratch the word numbers at all, there are only empty towers and keeps and HoD [TIME] blobs walking around ktraining.

As someone from NSP, yes, we do outnumber both DH and HoD during prime time, this shows on PPT, during the last reset night when I went to bad we were 6k ahead and logged in to a 10k deficit on the following day.

This match-up isn’t decided on prime time, but by the SEA guilds from HoD that hits doors night after night, specially ours as I heard that every night we end up even losing our keep in EB at least once every night and always take some time to get it back, now imagine for how long they hold SMC uncontested.

For DH the match-up is dull because they lack numbers, for us on NSP it’s dull because it’s impossible to win as HoD night capping is too strong.

It is one of the options to meet the daily requirement. If anyone did the jp today as part of the 3/3 to get their daily, that made the jp part of the requirement.

Yet this is the same as doing PvP dailies in custom rooms where people intentionally feed to get the dailies. Or people essentially PvE’ing in WvW. Make them play the kitten thing right as part of the requirement.

Ehh…AB multiloot creates no new gold, so the AH fees from shifting all your salvage loot around probably acts as an overall sink.

Exactly, different from Silverwastes where in a train with 50 people each chest will pump approximately 60 silver into the economy together with the mats, Auric Basin will only give things that can be sold for money but won’t generate more money, only gear, materials or recipes that can be traded and some account bound stuff.

If anything it’s reducing inflation while still giving players a shot at get some good gear out of it. You’re making lots of money because of this using the TP? That’s great because TP taxation is removing even more gold from the economy.

Another Patch of more PvP nerfs to PvE

nsleep.7839

This. How about we split balance or do not balance the game around the mode where you can change your whole build, more specifically stats and sigils and runes, without spending any gold or time.

I can make a level 1 toon of another class, enter sPvP and enjoy it the same as my level 80’s with hundreds of gold in gear, so this mode while fair doesn’t feel right having balance adjusted around it. It’s just that if the level 1 toon get hit by nerfs I lose nothing, just make another level 1 from a top tier class and I am fine without any time invested at all.

From all the suggestions I’ve ever seen in this forum this must be the dumbest. You’re asking to add RNG to others classes because you lack competency in your own, and this is extra dumb considering these would be transfered to PvE too and things like raids operate under a timer that requires constant and calculable damage output.

I know you dont want to hear this, but silver wastes, yeah i hate it, but i did make 100g in a day when i did it for 6 hours a year ago, i will never go back because fracs are the way to go, but thats one way

I tried silver waste but I still don’t get how people come up with those numbers. You and many others say you can make 100g in SW or 10g/hr in SW but how? The events only give you Bandit crests, sand, 100 karma and 1s. Bandit chests gives you junk and a bag. Those bags I open on a lvl45 alt and salvage yet I get underwhelming returns. So how is that you actually make gold in SW? Have I just been doing it wrong the whole time?

You need to do this to do the next step. AOnce yu get the hang of it and know what you’re doing it goes even smoother. First you want to get gathe around 500 crests, it doesn’t really matter how many shovels, but you can easily get 15+ if you play well from a fresh map from the start of the meta. Once you get these do the following:

- Go to the crest merchant in the encampment and buy Bandit Skeleton Keys.
- Use the LFG to taxi into a map where a chest train is going on.
- Follow the train, the blue dots from party members should help you if you taxed in, otherwise you can just wait at one of the entrances of the camp.
- People will be rotating the map digging Lost Bandit Chests that gives a lot of stuff. You are mainly aiming to gather Embroidered Coin Purses, Obsidian Shards are also a nice plus to have, just throw the Dragonite Ore and Bloodstone Dust away. The rest just vendor or TP, whatever nets more money.
- Get all your Purses to a character at level 53 and open them. Salvage all blues, greens and yellows, TP or flush exotics.

That’s about it. At level 53 you can salvage the materials that are worth lots in the TP, I remember reading somewhere it nets around 13% more than opening them with a level 80 unless you get a good precursor through the Mystic Forge.

Warrior has this:

nsleep.7839

Tbh I don’t find HoT bad at all. I mean, yes, sometimes you got to try and hop maps a little til you find people if what you’re looking for means you need a group. Otherwise, once I figured out what HoT needs, I got my chars ready and I’m having loads of fun – well except Tangled Depths, I hate that map.
My issue with HoT is different. The drops. The drops are abysmal.
After I did the Dragon Stand meta for the first time, I probably did it since at least 50 times. I have yet to get something else from the dragon’s chest besides 5 machete and 3 green gear. I get way better drops in SW. WAY better.
So I practically do both DS and AB metas just for QUANTITY of drops, not for quality – I happen to work on a leg so need loads of mithril, and also getting another one of my chars garbed in ascended so need mats for that too.
Otherwise, I play HoT for fun, not for drops. THAT is the major area that needs worked.

Buffing the rewards so they are at least on par with SW would make people go to the HoT maps, there is no need to increase or decreased difficulty right now…

Except the frogs, they deal way too much damage, spam stealth, are very mobile and everything else. Did you reflect the projectiles that take 50% of you HP if you don’t have Toughness/Vitality? Well that’s useless because they’re are immune to projectiles, including their own. I fear the normal frogs more than veterans of any other enemy in the freaking maps. They are not fun, the end.
