It takes less than 6hrs to get it with +50% boost from gobler and 10% from guild hall.
Vova’s suggestion is a good one. The gobler bonus is the same one as the Experience or Heroic Booster, and it makes a huge difference to the time needed.
Just obtained a GoB from zero… took 7-8 hours over the course of a week to finish it. I’m not a WvWer… GoB is pretty much the only reason I go there.
Start with an easy to obtain stat set like exotic Carrion or Rabid while working towards your final build, esp for armor. You can get those from the Orr Temples or the WvW vendor.
I’m afraid if you’re looking for ascended Viper’s armor, you’ll have to start crafting as some stage:
Ascended drops from fractals – Viper’s is not one of the available sets.
Stat swapping at the MF – Viper insignia is account bound, thus needs to be crafted.
Buying from fractal/WvW/PvP vendor – they all need a crafted account bound item (e.g. Grandmaster Armorsmith’s Mark)
I think the only reliable non-crafting dependent method to get Viper’s armor is via the raid vendors.
Another option is to hold off for a month and see what new stat combos come with PoF… maybe something more appealing than Viper’s will be added.
1. The only crafting profession that lack function in terms of ‘endgame’ is Jeweler. All of the weaponcrafting and armorcrafting professions can eventually get you Ascended gear(The best PVE gear) while cooking is always useful in making food for food buffs. Jeweler helps craft Amulets/rings/trinkets while levelling and is a good profession to help you level(Crafting gains you exp.) but beyond that it’s probably the most useless of the crafting professions.
Most useless relative to all the other crafts… but not completely useless. You do need a Jeweler for several Legendaries.
The price was probably kept low because people were holding off in case the 5th birthday gift included that dye. Now that it has been revealed to not contain that dye, people are more willing to buy/invest in it.
CS has usually been quite good when I make these kinds of errors, but support tickets seem to be taking a long time atm. To make it as quick as possible, give CS as many details as possible. E.g. character who sold/deleted, date and time, exact name of the item.
So basically you have to give up evasion and dodge to control the acid? That doesn’t make sense for a mastery. Usually a mastery is something you gain not a tit for tat choice.
I fail to see your point. Before the mastery, you’d have to dodge to avoid the acid aoe. After the mastery you can remove the acid by dodging. Either way, you need to use a dodge to survive… the mastery just enables you to be lazier with your timing.
LS2 and HoT story achievements also give ascended trinkets. The stat selection is limited though… so I’d agree with the posters above… LS3 maps are pretty quick, especially if you use alts to farm.

If you click on the magnifying glass icon next to an ingredient, it takes you straight to that recipe so you can craft it. Then closing that recipe brings you back to the recipe you were previously on.
You can also right click any mats you need more of to bring up a TP window to buy it.
But expansions in an online game is a bit different. You don’t buy it because you expect the product to be good, but rather buy it because you want to continue playing the game you already have. Not buying is for all practical purposes the same as quitting the game, as the majority of the community that you exist in now will move on to the new content.

So much of the enjoyment comes from your prior investment in the francise, and the friends who are buzzing around the new maps with you.
Despite my prejudices against pre-orders, I would argue that you should pre-order any MMO expansion that you’ve got a significant connection to because you can get the most out of those first days and weeks. If you wait a couple of months, you’ll miss the excitement and energy of the launch.
On the other hand, if you’re just lukewarm on the franchise, I would suggest holding off until the reviews come in.

Since you weren’t here for the release of HoT, there was a big outcry because some players claimed Anet was cheating them by valuing the core game at $0 and charging $50 for HoT. This current pricing model is at least partially influenced by those events.
Giver’s a funny set. The weapons and armor give different stats despite the identical prefix. It be nice if they could also be split into 2 different prefixes that applied to armors and weapons.
The big disaster was the 1st release. Their servers weren’t prepared for literally everyone going to Southsun at the same time. After that, I thought the releases were reasonable considering the time pressure they put themselves under. I would have been happier if each release was more substantial but slower to release (like LS is now) cos there was a huge rush to finish before the next released. Some of the story telling was slow, but that was mainly in the beginning and the pace increased significantly as LS1 progressed.
You also should also consider if what you’re selling is a high or low volume item. If you’re selling elder wood and have 1000 sellers cheaper than you, you’re items will still sell quickly, whereas if there are 1000 cheaper sellers for your precursor, but prepared to wait a while.
Power supplies don’t work like that, the power they list is not the power they deliver. Given an 80+ power supply, you’ll only get 80% of the wattage that it advertises and running it at max like that all of the time will make it noisy (fan and coil noise), inefficient and and burn out
That’s not how the 80 plus rating works. Sure, a knock off brand without any ethics may try pass off a lesser wattage PSU for a greater one, but a 80 plus rated PSU should output the stated wattage. That the % means is how much additional power is wasted as heat. E.g. a low efficiency 500w may waste 150w as heat, thus consuming a total of 650w, where as a high efficiency one may waste 50w as heat. But both should output 500w.
Efficiency changes depending on the PSU’s load. The 80 plus rating measures it at 20, 50 and 100%.
When you create your first demo character, the game automatically creates a demo bank that contains a copy of everything that was in your real bank at that exact moment. From that point onwards, nothing you do on your demo bank will affect your live one, or vice versa. Demo characters and banks are deleted after the demo weekend ends.
The 80 boost will come in an additional shared slot, not in your mail. All the other pre-order items will come in the mail but you may need to wait a while. Mine arrived the next day, but I didn’t check that night so could have been earlier.
GW2’s open world was built to encourage players to cooperate:
No factions, no open world PvP, no kill stealing, no shared resource nodes and no dueling.
When I first started in GW2, it was so refreshing to not see other players as competitors. Personally, I feel this non-competitive open world is completely ingrained in GW2’s player culture, and represents much of it’s appeal as a game.
When those artifacts appear, try setting your graphics settings to lowest, then revert back to your usual. Works for me (my artifacts appears randomly instead of after alt-tab)

On the other point, diversity doesn’t just come from base stats. You really need to consider them in the context of traits, runes, sigils, skills, etc. So there’s no need to make stats the sole focus of buildcrafting.
You’re correct, if you logged in you should have LS3.
Have you started the HoT story yet? The early part is needed to unlock masteries, maybe you need it to unlock LS3 too.
You also need to manually activate the LS3 episodes in your hero panel. All the LS3 maps need you to complete part of thier respective stories before you can get into each new map.
Some of the mechanics you describe in your 1st post have been already implemented in various traits, sigils, runes, and foods. Again digging through the wiki will give you the details.
Have you logged in at all in the last year? If you did, you may find that after buying HoT, some of the LS3 zone are unlocked for free.
The way it works is if you log into the game after one LS3 zone is released but before the next zone release, you get the current zone for free even if you don’t have HoT.
E.g. if you have a core or F2P account and logged in now, then bought HoT after PoF releases, you’d get Siren’s landing free but need to pay for the previous ones.
I hope this demo excluded content and events that this map had. If it didnt i dont see any meaningful content in there. Other than that the map the skybox the music are all great.
Also if i may be honest i try to compaire the core and hot map sizes to this first 1 and the map just doesnt seem as big as i was led to believe.
We didn’t get the full map. During the HoT beta, only 1/5 to 1/4 of VB was accessible and few events happened. I’d imagine this is the case now too.
Servers only matter in WvW… so unless you have a strong urge to RP in one of the battlegrounds, it doesn’t matter. Only selection that matters in PvE is if you’re in NA or EU.
The males and females of a species don’t need to look similar to each other. Think peakittens, but instead of tail and colour, you get tiny heads and manboobs.

How can there be stolen keys, isn’t the only way to get a key to buy it from anet? Did someone break into their offices Mission impossible style and make off with a stack of papers.
What sites like these usually do is buy up cheaper retail copies, or buy their keys as regions where video game prices are lower because of currency exchange.
Read what the others have posted above… the keys aren’t stolen per se, but the money used to buy them is.
Raptor
Movement feels nice and weighty… clumsy when stationary but gets more agile when running. I hope the other mounts also have appropriate feeling to their movements… e.g. the skimmer should have a smooth “effortlessness” to it’s movement, whereas the bunny has a twitchiness to it.
Unidentified Gear
I think the potential of salvaging/losing exotics and precursors will rub people the wrong way. Why not have exotics and precursors excluded from the system?… i.e. exos/pres are automatically identified when picked up, whereas greens and yellows stay as unidentified items. I doubt anyone will complain about bag managing a Spark drop.
Linken’s right… that’s very similar to what was happening to tons of people at the start of HoT. In fact the 64-bit client was a direct result of those OOM issues.
Another possible option is to turn your graphical setting to lowest and close unnecessary background apps.
From a D&D background, I think a Thief elite spec would fit the archetype. Maybe a support oriented spec and make their instruments have similar mechanics to Engineer kits or Ele weapons.
Not trying to dash your hopes, but realistically some servers are effectively impossible to join. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but in the last 2-3 years, the consistently good T1 servers are always “full”… e.g. Blackgate (Only know NA servers… I’m not familiar enough with EU to comment)
A static IP will help, but that is usually a feature of (more expensive) business internet connections. Not sure if a VPN will be able to do that though.
Anyway, if you authorize and ask GW2 to remember that IP, eventually you’d have covered all possible IPs that your ISP uses and the authorization requests stop. Probably took me 2-3 months before I reached that point… may take you less if you D/C frequently and get reassigned a new IP each time.
Whether you want ascended armor is up to you for most content. Just be aware that for higher tier fractals you need ascended armor for their agony infusion slots.
