You can’t get the regular AR from the old +7. Those you craft/trade from +1 ARs.
The old +7’s can be traded in for fractal relics, but beware, you cannot get them back if you change your mind.
The anguished tears of alba now stack, so you can aim for 135AR and top it off with the potion.
Finally, the amulet can no longer hold AR infusions.
You wouldn’t happen to have a massive stash of Mystic coins too? Apparently there are tons of those being hoarded too, and we could do with more supply on the TP :p
During a recent AMA, Anet did say a leather farm is on the cards. Whenever that happens, hopefully prices will drop to a more sane level (Sell while you can… hint hint)
http://dulfy.net/2016/11/21/gw2-a-crack-in-the-ice-developers-reddit-ama/
If you look at the gw2 Web site, DL Gamer is listed as an official retailer (under digital download)
Nansen is correct. Here’s a list of available titles
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Title
Players have been banned for that before.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Suspended-for-AFK-farming/6159544
Anet tend to issue bans on batches, so there will be a time lag between reporting the afk farmers and thier eventual ban or suspension.
Btw, the bonfire gives you the exact same bonus (i.e booster and bonfire cannot stack).
If it is a bug, Anet has ignored it for years. I don’t recall seeing any specific reason for leaving out the karma boost.
I believe karma boosts are still available as a level up reward.
Have you tried using something other than a traditional keyboard and mouse?
I play all my games with a MMO mouse and Orbweaver, which makes the reaching my keybinds much easier.
I’ve also seen threads where others have configured GW2 to work on a gamepad.
There is no bug in terms of the item within the chest. The ascended chest lets you choose a specific weapon, and the exotic chest gives you a random one.
However I disagree with Liken and Inculpatus; every other ascended chest in the game consistently gives an ascended item of some sort. Amongst ascended chests, this one is the odd one out.
To avoid confusion, Anet should just change it to an exotic chest and add some sort of fancy descriptor to distinguish it from the standard gold fractal weapon chest. “Bejewelled golden fractal weapon chest” or something.

One even told me I had to be on the same server to interact with individual members otherwise I’d never see them while wandering around a location!
Whoever told you that is wrong… the only restriction for playing/seeing a guildie in open world PvE is being in the same region. (i.e. being in a server located in the NA region vs EU region). That region is fully up to you… (if you can tolerate the ping) you can live in USA but have your account located in a EU server if you so desired.
What you say used to be the case 3-4 years ago before the mega-server was implemented.
No, there isn’t. Nor is there any reason to be able to.
As stated above, guilds are not tied to servers. Only individual guild members are. If you’re looking for a wvw guild, you’ll have to ask which is their primary server (or many will advertise that fact)

Braham hates your guts atm, so I wouldn’t count on him rezzing you.
Rox, on the other hand, shame on her!
@Bee
Getting mordy to 25% solo is really impressive, but the mote does warn you that it was made for a 5-man party.
Just make your own lfg and make sure everyone is properly prepared (e.g food). There’s also a rock immediately to the left of spawn, where for the Eir flight, your team can stack and lose LoS from her. This prevents her doing her huge AoE. Garm will follow you into that corner so can be dps’d normally.
I brought my magi druid; not sure if the healing was overkill, but we finished the challenge with only 3-4 wipes.
The least frustrating way to get flight of fancy is to cheese it. 1 or 2 players get killed before the first flight phase (when Marjory spawns) and let everyone else finish the mission.
Obviously not something you want to do while trying for Migraine.

Even better in sinister or viper due HoT monsters usually have high thoughness.
I think you’re specifically referring to the husks. Most other mobs have normal levels of toughness and power builds are fine there.
For builds, have a look at metabattle.com. They probably won’t be 100% suitable for you, but I use those as a base and modify it according to my needs.
Read the most recent patch note.

Viper’s intricate gossamer insignia requires 5 gossamer patches. Each patch requires 10 cured hardened leather squares. each square sells for 1g, you do the math.
Ori’s math is correct. The recipe outputs 5 patches at a time.

The price fluctuates depending on supply and demand. The worst time to convert your gold to gems would be when a popular item goes on sale (e.g the character slot sale we had a few days ago). I haven’t looked at prices recently, but they’re likely back to the expected conversion rate now.
You can look at Gw2spidy.com to see the long term fluctuations and trends.
As others have said before, check the prices before starting to craft Twilight. Crafting is still very expensive and was never meant to be a significantly cheaper option.
Also look at each collection’s wiki, you’ll be expected to have 500 crafting (at least in Weaponsmith, can’t recall if other crafts are needed) and do a variety of content including mini dungeons and fractals.
I’m not trying to discourage you. But there’s been many threads from players who go into the process unprepared and QQ when they realize they hadn’t thought of through properly.
What is a good HoT Mastery to get next?

Like Ori said, you don’t need to save MPs for the Ancient Magic track, every new map has added double or more the number of MPs needed for the that episode’s mastery.
For more MPs, have a look at this
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery_point_unlocks
There is 1 MP not listed there, for defeating Mayatl in VB.
For a good guide to get some easy adventure gold and silver, have a look at this

What extremely hard area are you trying to skip?
Have you seen today’s dailies? There are no HoT zones.
Shiverpeaks lumberer
Maguuma waste vista
Field of Ruin Events
Under New Managment JP
Btw, where does the wiki say several dailies aren’t available? I can’t seem to find that quote.
Does the TP have a maximum time that an item can be for sale?
The listing fee only applies if the sale is cancelled and the item taken down.
The 5% listing fee is applied immediately, regardless if a sale is made or not, so those sellers have already paid the 100s of gold. The total TP tax for a successful sale is 15%.
There’s no time limit for listings.

Crafted will work. Ascended weapons from the elite spec collections work too.
Depending on your crafting professions, some items end up cheaper than other (e.g anything requiring wood/leather tends to be more expensive). So check a site like gw2efficiency to find the most cost effective.
Mithril ingots are actually a 300 level recipe for all crafts. In the wiki, I see the 200 that OP mentions; not sure what that means exactly.
Edit: That number probably is the lowest skill recipe from each craft that uses the mat.
(edited by onevstheworld.2419)
The NA servers are in Texas, and the EU ones in Germany.
Btw, what’s wrong with 55 ping? To me that sounds awesome (200+ normally from Australia)
what materials do chefs use that cant be contained in the material bank?
I’m guessing OP means the intermediate mats, like pile of salt and pepper.
From the Dev’s previous comments when they were asking for material storage suggestions, they’ve ruled out adding storage slots for intermediate items such as dowels. I’m guessing this also applies to cook’s intermediates too.
Edit: Now that I’ve found the thread, they’ve definitely ruled them out.

I think the Shatterer style update is Anet’s likely future direction for world events… events that are doable by the mindless zerg, but having achievements that require a higher level of coordination.
I feel that’s a fair compromise between the two extremes.
Other than the example shadow mentioned, Anet tend to keep thier bans low key. However they sometimes respond when public compliants are made by the banned party. I remember a youtuber made a video about being banned, Anet then called him/her out for botting the Wintersday JP.
Have you had a look at Anet’s own troubleshooting help page?
https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/sections/200307218-Solving-Problems
You can run glass equipment in HoT. Just swap your traits and skills around depending on what you’re having trouble with. Condition clear, stun breaks and stability are the biggies here.
Also, after a while, you’ll learn your enemies’ telegraphs, then dodging becomes easier.
Thank you all for your helpful replies!
@onevstheworld Do backpieces have a better rate than other trinkets (minus the 0-rate rings)?
Actually I may have jumped the gun in recommending the backpack. Never done it myself and assumed it was better, but the wiki says the chance is low.

HoT gives me Season 3 Living Story? Unclear

When Anet announced LS3, they also stated how one gets the episodes for free:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-wars-2s-living-world-returns-on-july-26/
If you have a core account AND you logged in during the time each episode was active, you will get that episode for free when you eventually buy HoT.

Being an Elementalist I’ve used my collected hero points for the fire specialization. I don’t know if there’s a max number of hero points. Use them for other spec’s or keep them for Tempest (a level 80 spec). If current (level 57) usage is beneficial, what’s the best spec? A strong healing one? In some “world” fights I die sometimes, can use a power healing at that moment. Maybe it’s useful for group mates too.
There is a max HP, but that limit is way above what you need for your specialization. Getting to level 80 without any hero challenges will give you enough HP’s to complete all your normal specializations. To get your elite specialization, you need to complete your normal ones, then earn more HP’s (either in core Tyria or HoT zones) to “buy” the traits.
The game offers some group activity (dungeons, raids) and a facility to get into such a group. The presence of such a group is an exception. The requirements are unfamiliar, what is the meaning of asking for P1, P2 or P3?
P1/2/3 refers to the paths of the dungeons. At the beginning of each dungeon, you’re given an option which path to take. It changes the enemies and challenges you face.
Finally, how to join a guild? I expect a list of available guilds, can’t find such a function. Neither sites containing useful information.
Look here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor
https://www.reddit.com/r/guildrecruitment/
Of course I’ve searched this forum, however it’s to complex, at least at this point in time.
Forum search has been broken since forever, with no hope of a fix. Anet themselves suggest using google instead.
Not extensive enough IMO :p
Take your time to look through the wiki; it’ll have tons more detail that I missed.

1. No set rule for the order of your gear… armor is usually last because it’s the most expensive and provides the least stat boost. Once upon a time, same could be said about backpacks, but the LS3 backpacks have decreased the cost to a much more reasonable level.
The ascended amulets cannot take AR infusions, so you can leave them out unless you want the stats. Also AR infusions on weapons only work if they are on your active weapon set, so you need to have infusions on both sets if yours is a class that swaps a lot.
PvP is fine to get your gear… but be aware you’re limited to 1200 tokens per season, so you need 2+ seasons to gear up. Also currently the PvP ascended items cannot be stat swapped at the MF… not sure if that’s a bug or not.
Sub-20 fractals may drop a ring (perhaps accessory) once in a while, but no armor or weapon boxes. T4 (and to a lesser extent T3) fractals are where the drops are.
Other ways to get your items:
- Crafting
- Various vendors (weapon and armor boxes are more expensive than crafting. Trinkets can be either bought for laurels, or subsidized with other currencies: WvW badges, guild commendations, pristine fractal relics)
- Elite specialization collections (specific weapons only)
- Various other collections (e.g. Leystone armor, Bioluminescence armor)
- WvW, PvP, Tequatl and Triple Trouble Wurm chests (very rare)
- LS3 currency (the only way to get HoT stats on trinkets outside of raids)
- LS2 and HoT achievements
2. Yes, you can just throw your infusions into your gear as you go along. One of the golem vendors will sell you an infusion extractor… it’s fairly cheap, but you need to get the fractal mastery track to unlock him. You don’t need any AR to start fractals… Agony only starts kicking in at level 20.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fractals_of_the_Mists
You actually only need 135AR for fractal 100 because there is a cheap +15AR potion.
To upgrade a +1AR to a +2 (and so on), you can either craft using an Artificer, or one of the golem vendors can do it for you for the same price.
3. The stat infusions are expensive and aren’t required for any content. Plain AR infusions are fine. Only get them is you’re determined to fully min-max and are made of gold (e.g. a single Mighty +9 infusion costs ~100g to make, compared to ~10g a normal +9 infusion)
(edited by onevstheworld.2419)
Yeah, you might want to doublecheck that it’s possible to salvage the purchased ascended items from the new maps, but if it is, that would probably be the least painful and least time-intensive method. After a few days of gathering berries in Bitterfrost you should have enough to purchase one of the trinkets to salvage. It takes me around 10 minutes to gather most of the berries there each day so that would be something extremely easy you could add to your gameplay checklist. The ascended ring there (Black Ice Band) costs 200 winterberries and 2k unbound, and you could get 200 berries within 3-4 days.
But as flesh wound said, definitely check into it first. I haven’t done this myself so I’m not 100% certain they are salvageable.
If it does work, you’ll have to salvage the backpiece. Rings don’t give balls of dark energy, and other trinkets only have a very low chance.
You can also salvage one of the rewards from the elite specialisation collections. I salvaged one of the shields as that was the cheapest to replace if I ever needed to.
Look at the minimum requirements. It states 25gb required, which you’re about 1+ gb short.
https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/201862958-Minimum-System-RequirementsIn any case, you should try not completely max out your HDD/SDD. A HDD needs space for a swap file, and SSD’s deteriorate in performance when completely full.
I think you read his post wrong. He has 91 gigs of free space so that is not the issue. What is a bit odd is the path that he lists is on the D : drive. I wonder if he has two hard drives and is trying to install it on to the wrong one.
Oops, my bad
You can also get easy zerk exotics from the Orr temples (forgot which one exactly) for karma. During Wintersday, you get tons of karma from giving gifts to the orphans.
You can change ascended weapon and armor stats in the mystic forge… the mats cost several gold per item, but still much cheaper than crafting a 2nd piece.
Accessory stats are mostly permanent. The only ones with changeable stats are the ones from Bloodstone Fen or the legendary backpieces. Most accessory costs can be offset through various means (WvW badges, guild commendations, fractal relics).
Context, please.
