I did it a few weeks back. It’s only partially bugged; the broodmother does not aggro immediately when you press F, but she does trigger eventually when you’ve annoyed her enough.

Every game is different… on a general level, a significant part comes from the game engine. Each game engine has it’s own strength/weaknesses/requirements. GW2’s engine isn’t used in any other current games.

Wait… are you saying your 8-pin power input for your GPU only has a 6-pin connected to it? IIRC a 6-pin delivers 75W and a 8-pin delivers 150W. I’m not sure what side-effect your setup would cause though.

Depending on your PSU, you could either:

• Use an 8-pin – either your PSU will have a spare 8-pin tucked away somewhere, or if it is modular, you’ll have a 8-pin cable you can plug in.
• 6-pin to 8-pin adapter – if your PSU is a reasonable quality, it should still deliver enough power through the 6-pin cable. There are also double-6-pin-to-single-8-pin-adapters, but that would mean you need three 6-pins from your PSU.
• Buy a new PSU – if your PSU is the original one that came with your i5-650, it’s probably before the 80-plus bronze/silver/gold/platinum standard became wide-spread. So it’s worthwhile upgrading it if you have plans for future upgrades to CPU/GPU.

Could one of your characters have equipped the Perfected Warhorn? I don’t think it shows up in in-game searches if you did. But GW2 efficiency should find it.

There’s also a chance you have vendored it by mistake.
TBH, I don’t see why any of the legendary components should be sellable… it just creates more work for customer support.

In terms of min-maxing for raids, shouldn’t you be using Carrion instead of Sinister backpiece? With full-minus-1 Viper’s, DD and Fury, your crit chance is also overcapped so the precision isn’t needed.

You have to charge the oiled component at a hero challenge.

You didn’t put a % over the charr city. Is that at 100% too?

Yeah, I wouldn’t hold my breath about getting into BG, they have been the most consistent T1 server in WvW. Other than the first few months of the game, I don’t think they have ever been outside the top 3.

There are 3 ways to swap servers:
Buy with gems
Delete all your characters, then your swap is free
If an account started off as a F2P account, you get 1 free swap (probably because you didn’t have any server choice when the account was made)

Be aware, server population restrictions still apply whatever method you use i.e. you can’t get into a “full” server until it empties out a little.

This is totally wrong. You are basically forced to buy Deldrimor Steel Ingots. 85 of them costs 522. Don’t tell me you will craft them. It will take you 85 days to do so. And then again 10 Elonian is 106 gold. I checked prices in game. I don’t know where you got your prices from.

EDIT: I checked on gw2efficiency and the price there is without Deldrimore steel ingots. Therefore its 451 gold + 10 elonian + 85 deldrimore. You do the math….

You don’t need HoT to craft the time gated mats, and you’ve had more than a year since HoT released to plan/gather your mats if you were looking to craft a legendary.

TBH, you should have done your homework… unlike everyone who jumped straight into legendary crafting when HoT launched, you’ve currently got plenty of online resources and guides to help you.

If you run meta food, Sigil of Malice, Barbed Precision, and almost-full Viper’s (excluding the backpiece), you’ll have 100.4% bleed duration (80.4% everything else). So you can easily swap out the Sigil of Agony. Edit: Actually, if you ran all Viper’s except the helm, you get even less stat wastage… 80.2% condition duration

Sigil of Geomancy is the alternative to Earth… it depends how you play as to which is better. I personally don’t swap weapons or go into shroud often enough, so I use Earth. Run Decimate Defenses and your crit chance is 100% with Fury.

At the time I made Twilight, I had actually saved about 200G over buying Dusk. So which route is more cost effective is very much something you need to research beforehand. Ignore the wiki… it doesn’t summarize the numbers in any coherent way. Use gw2efficiency.com or gw2bltc.com instead.

TBH, despite the bugs, I did enjoy the around-the-world collection (not so much the “craft a million sword hilts” part though). It’s a shame Anet couldn’t find a way to efficiently create that type of content for the new gen legendaries.

You obviously can afford them, so the mighty infusions are a no-brainer.

Regarding the vitality infusions, do actually need the extra survivability? If you are currently doing fine, it may not be the best use of your money. An alternative would be to use the WvW infusions as a trial to see if the added vitality is useful before you commit a large amount of gold for the +9’s.

Depending on what stat type you are after, the HoT and LS2 story achievements also give you an ascended amulet/accessory.

It’s both a collection item and an ingredient for one of the other collection items. You do have to read the description properly before destroying it. Anything that says “Only has value as part of a collection” is safe to dispose of.

The ascended trinkets used to have 2 sets of stats in their pop-up description to represent the item and jewel stats separately. At some point, Anet just combined the 2 numbers to make the UI neater.

But what’s thier policy on defective products? Most countries have laws against that type of thing. It shouldn’t be hard to show an employee there that the is defective. Just use your phone to register your account in front of him/her and they’ll see it’s wrong.

Btw how many characters does your code have? Mine is 25 long, in an unusual grouping 6-5-4-3-7

Can you not to back to the store to exchange it?

You can bring either into fractals. A healing druid is not needed until you get to T4, and even then, it’s debatable if one is necessary. A druid in a good group will make the encounter quicker and less stressful, but it doesn’t make or break the encounter. A bad group will struggle regardless of healing.

I personally recommend taking your guardian into fractals. Get into T4 fractals ASAP, then gear your druid up with the ascended boxes you get from fractals. Ascended armor is all very expensive (90+g per piece) so it is way cheaper to mystic forge the ones that drop from fractals.

And as Rayden says, getting elite specs is easier than it appears. Each hero challenge in HoT maps gives 10 points instead of just 1. It is harder in the beginning because you don’t have all your masteries and are not familiar with the maps, but if you’ve got a guide or are following a HP train, it becomes really quick. My 9th and final toon probably took 3-4 hours from 0 HP to full elite. The Dulfy guides are really helpful in this regard.

Depending on the firmware of your card, the default fan speed profile may be too aggressive. Assuming your temps are fine, you can use the default GPU control app (or even a different card maker’s e.g. MSI afterburner) to set the fans to spin up less aggressively.

Also, do you have the OEM blower type cooler or an aftermarket open style cooler? A blower works better in a cramped, airflow poor case (blows hot air out), but an open cooler is better in a well ventilated case (more efficient cooler but needs the case to remove the hot air). Blower fans also tend to be louder.

Btw, you’re right about shutting down when it’s too hot… however if your Mac or PC does get to that point, there’s something seriously wrong with your cooling solution. It should throttle performance down to a safe level instead of needing to shut down.

Why don’t you get the ascended rings/earrings from the LS3 maps instead?

What’s your ping? A laggy connection can cause similar issues.

The stat set you mention is Assassin’s, which are not available at the normal laurel vendor. So the costings you are using isn’t applicable.

The only methods of getting ascended Assassin’s trinkets are completing the relevant dungeon collections (accessories only – in this case Arah and CM), raid trinkets, or via the various LS3 currency vendors (Blood ruby, petrified wood or snowberries). The legendary backpieces can also get Assassin’s.

The same applies to Magi, Carrion and Sentinel stat sets.

Which other games have you tried? It has to be a fairly stressful modern game… something like Witcher 3 or BF1.

Fair point, I forgot about that; but overheating does have warning signs (e.g. artifacts, throttling). Your cooling system has to be pretty dire to cause total shutdown without other signs. Testing it is the same as testing for power issues though… just run HWmonitor in addition to the stress tests to watch your CPU and GPU temps.

Sounds like a power delivery issue. Does it happen with other games? Particularly ones that stress your CPU/GPU? If you haven’t tried, you can use a stress test… e.g. run Prime 95 and Furmark simultaneously.

Most likely culprit is your PSU… either because it’s old, or you recently upgraded your components and it cannot handle the new load.

I am 99% sure that the answer is yes.

The process for attunement and infused versions are both different, resulting in unique items. Most obviously they will have diff. item codes or ID’s associated with each. This is why game doesn’t necessarily treat them as one and the same, tho they’re derived from the same item – their IDs don’t match.

The raid rings and accessories can be doubled up on, as they are the only ones without the “unique” tag. The bloodstone rings do have the unique tag, so they have the same restrictions as the normal ascended ones.

Whatever you do, DO NOT CONSUME ANY OF YOUR UNWANTED ITEMS. They may ask you to delete those items before giving you your old ones. If you consume them, they may not be able to help you.

Also, AMD’s Zen processors are also due for release in Q1 2017. If the performance rumors are half true, Intel will be forced to lower the prices of their i5/i7 parts.

I run dual monitors with windowed mode on. My mouse moves freely between the game screen and secondary monitor, which is sometimes annoying when my mouse veers off my primary screen during combat, but I’m used to it so it rarely is an issue.

I tend to avoid non-windowed fullscreen because Windows doesn’t like it when you alt-tab too many times (at least Win7 and below… I haven’t tried it in Win10)

What resolution and quality setting are you looking at? Almost all modern CPUs/GPUs will run GW2… but it does depend how pretty you want it to look. My i5 Surface Pro 3 runs GW2 with its iGPU, but it thermal throttles crazily even at lowest resolution and quality settings.

My biggest concern with those tiny HTPC style boxes is their heat management. I’d suggest an ITX form factor build with a good case. That way, you keep the flexibility and heat management of a traditional PC in a smaller box.

Raid masteries are not needed for the gift of Maguuma Mastery.

Just be aware that you will not unlock the mastery tracks (both core and HoT) if you don’t do the first chapter of the HoT story with one character. That makes getting around the HoT maps very difficult.

You CAN make it pay off sooner… if you invite other players into your home instance to harvest, your node will give more total mats. Unfortunately it only benefits you if these players then send you those mats back to you. Since only 4 other players can join you at any one time, it doesn’t strike me as particularly time efficient either.

Try turning windowed mode off… i.e. “normal” fullscreen instead of windowed fullscreen. Windowed fullscreen is more resource intensive.

Also, I’m not sure if Nvidia has G-sync enabled for their laptop GPUs nowadays, but that doesn’t behave well in windowed modes for some games (Despite claiming “compatibility”, it still is a work in progress). Either disable g-sync or windowed fullscreen.

As far as I can tell, your resolution has increased from 1600×900 to 2880×1620... a x3 jump in terms of absolute number of pixels, whereas your CPU/GPU combo hasn’t increased in performance enough to make up for it.

IDK why you’d crash when you change resolutions. Try changing your windows resolution to a lower one (like 1080p) to force GW2 to use it. Then manually select that same resolution in your in-game settings so that it will keep that setting when you change your windows resolution back.

If it’s the latter, there’s something called “key rollover” that applies to keyboards. The keys on cheap USB keyboards share circuitry (this is probably a simplification, but it’s an easy way to think of it), so if you press several simultaneously, the additional ones won’t be registered. How it manifests is specific to each design… e.g. on one keyboard A,W,E may be an issue, but on another it’s A,W,Y. You don’t see it in normal computing because you rarely need to press more than a couple of keys simultaneously.

If it is a key rollover problem, the only solution is to buy a new keyboard. Something that specifically states “N-key rollover” or NKRO as a feature is the safest bet.

The orichalcum axe and unlimited tools also give you unbound magic from pretrified logs. The unbound axe will give you an extra bit of unbound magic, in fact, you’ll get unbound magic from all normal tree nodes if you’re using it.

It only costs that much if you want a specific weapon. The random recipe only costs 4 relics, and a small amount of orichalcum, dust and matrices.

The exotic chest gives you a random weapon. The ascended chest lets you choose which weapon. The weapons from either chest are always exotic quality.

And yeah the question of success with pugging dailies was troubling me. So far in t2 even in a “bad” group or where things go wrong for whatever reason you can still push through and do it. Only things like the legendary ice elemental/mining suit can be tough in a bad/uncoordinated group. But if the chance of good groups is high at t4 then I would feel more comfortable with pugging the dailies there. It would certainly be nice to earn double the number of pristine relics.

Personally, ever since the changes to the fractal rewards, I’ve found the quality of T1 – T3 pugs have decreased hugely. That’s probably because there is no reason for anyone who can do T4 to go back to the lower tiers (as completing T4 also gives T1-3 rewards), so there are very few experienced fractal runners in those lower tiers.

With the exception of a few fractals, even mediocre T4 pugs rarely struggle.

Infusing rings is cheap… it’ll either cost 750 relics plus ~7g per ring, or free if an infused ring drops (usually from a T3+ fractal daily). If you’ve got a 14 slots with 10ARs and you add one infusion slot to a ring and put a 9AR into it, you are able to downgrade 9 other slots to 9AR and still maintain the same total AR. It costs ~10g to upgrade a 9AR to a 10AR infusion, so this saves you ~90g. Definitely a worthwhile investment to infuse rings.

Also, you don’t need 150 AR… just get up to 135, and use the AR potion to add the final +15 AR.

I’ve only ever seen one 20+ player zerg kill it without being able to CC. We had reasonable DPS, players were skilled enough to stay alive, and those downed were willing to WP to rejoin the fight quickly. Unfortunately the usual random zerg has none of those qualities, so best bet is still a small CC-capable group.
