The other logical time for a sale is Black Friday or Cyber Monday… whatever those 2 big sales day in USA are called. Even if Anet don’t have a sale then, their partner retailers probably will.
Think of it as payback for all the fly-by pewpew you’re doing with your #1 skill.
That said, the airborne combat mechanics aren’t the most refined. But unless air combat becomes a mechanic in the wider game, I doubt Anet will put the resources into overhauling it for just one map.
There are cheap and relatively easy ways to get certain ascended weapons and armor:
Elite collections will reward ascended weapons – you don’t get a choice… only the weapon types linked the each elite is available. But, you can forge those to whatever stat you like.
Leystone and bio luminescent armor collections give you an ascended armor box.
Machined weapons collection gives you an ascended weapon box (this one’s harder cos you need tons of map currency from all the HoT maps)
And like Daedraz says, accessories are easy. They are also the best bang for your buck in terms of stats.
Oops, my bad. I had only glanced at the PvP and WvW parts when I made that statement… looking at the build, I assumed no one would consider suggesting that for 5 or 10 man PvE. The A/T condition build just above it makes more sense.
I’d strongly encourage you to go into the jungle… what you find stale in the core game will definitely shaken up in HoT. It’s a lot more challenging, but you’ll get used to it. Look at dulfy.net for the guides for HPs and mastery points.
I know a lot of people will be against this, but I personally would love to have the ability to gain even more combat stats/bonuses beyond what gear+runes+sigils+infusions offer. This would at least give me an incentive to out and farm maps again..
You’re describing BDO… that’s completely opposite of GW2’s progression philosophy.
I’d suggest trying out fractals. As mentioned, they can all be obtained in T1, so no AR is needed until #20.
Most are fairly easy….e.g. /dance with holograms, /bow to colossus. Others are a matter of asking your team to help you… e.g. kill all the Jade Maw trash mobs, kill all the chickens in Urban. Only a few are actually hard… I’ve completely given up on Subject Deep Sixer.
You need to equip the dragon hunter specialization into the 3rd (bottom) slot of your traits menu. i.e. where you chose your Radiance/Honor/Zeal/etc specs.
There’s a reason that build doesn’t feature on the main ranger page of metabattle (http://metabattle.com/wiki/Ranger) That ranger build is considered a selfish build i.e. It maximizes personal DPS but reduces your usefulness in 5 or 10 man content because ranger’s strengths are buffing your team’s offense, not personal DPS. Have a look at the more highly rated builds… most will have explanations why certain options are best.
Have you got your elites specs? More powerful options for all classes will open up when you do.
You could destroy everything, but you’d be much poorer in the long run… the majority of wealth is from item drops, not direct gold drops. I personally salvage most of my items… anything that is green or less is an automatic salvage, and any yellow that sells for less than the cost of an ecto (~35s) gets salvaged too.
Do you know about the various inventory QoL features?
Deposit mats into the material tab of your bank – click the gear icon in the top right corner of your inventory window.
Mass salvage option – right click on any salvage kit in your inventory for a drop down menu
Mass consume option – right click on the item for a drop down menu, only works with luck and transmute charges
Sell all junk – click the “sell junk” button in any vendor’s selling tab
Sell items to the TP from anywhere – open the Trading post window wherever you are (default: O), you only need to visit the NPC if you are collecting your gold.

Get specialty bags – some bags will automatically take certain items (e.g. junk, mats, greens, rares, equipment, etc) so they are not scattered everywhere in your inventory.
Btw, ascended gear does not drop from dungeons (unless you count the limited number of trinkets you get from completing the collections). And although fractals will drop ascended, you need to get to T3 and T4 to have a realistic chance for anything that isn’t a ring, so you’ll need some ascended pieces to have the AR to even attempt those. If you accidentally sells something, the last tab in the vendor’s menu allows you to buy back everything you sold in that session. Unfortunately that panel gets cleared when you leave the vendor.

If you want your rubies back, you can send in a ticket to customer support. They usually pretty good with things like that.
Remember that amulets can no longer accept AR infusions, so you can leave those off your shopping list for time being.
You can get cheap trinkets by doing the HoT story achievements. They are fairly straight forward, except for the final chapter (i.e the Migraine achievement).
If you’re looking for ascended sinister trinkets to match your armor, those can only be obtained if you have LS2.
There is no indication that any of the Bloodstones have been destroyed by the way unless you want to count the Bloodstone Fen one being split into smaller pieces. I don’t remember seeing any indication that it was destroyed any more than it was when broken into the original five pieces.

I tried shifting through GW1 lore but couldn’t figure out what happened to the Ring of Fire bloodstone after GW1 ended.
Good to know, that makes more sense because i watched my temperature while playing and after another crash the temperature was at 59C and most of the time its higher.
However thats like the worst case I can imagine because my warranty has expired since a few years already… but thanks for the hint!
As I mentioned in my other post, you need to figure out what “Temp 2” is… Speedfan doesn’t always label the temps in an understandable manner. HWmonitor does a better job in terms of presentation. If that really is your CPU, 60C at idle is too high… I’ve stress tested my rig (simultaneous Prime95 + Furmark) and my CPU temp maxed out at 56.
Outside the CPU and GPU, other common hardware causes of seemingly random crashes are failing RAM and power supply.
My guess is, that’s a deliberate thing. The Devs may have decided coding in the ability to detect items in individual slots not to be worthwhile (most players won’t downgrade to lesser slot bags), so implemented this as an easier to code fail-safe against losing items when downgrading bags.
But I wouldn’t describe as a mobile class. It’s teleports needs a target (sword 2, judge’s intervention, merciful intervention), the leaps are fairly short range (except for Wings of Resolve), there is no perma swiftness option. Using thief or ele as a benchmark, it’s slow.
Another caveat with DH, is that in T4 fractals, the light fields you throw around can be blasted for retaliation, which if stolen, causes huge damage to your team. I personally have never had serious problems (even when using hammer, which poops out light fields like crazy), but others have fairly strong opinions against DH in fractals. You won’t have a problem if you play smart… I’ve never been kicked for generating too much retal.
I would have suggested warrior too, but since you rule that out, no other class will offer the combination you describe… all will have something on your list that it lacks.
Since you can play most classes, why not multi-class?
The only thing your companions are (sometimes) good for is ressing you. Otherwise you have to rely on your own skills.
As pointed out in posts above, you should have a look at your build. If you are zerk, you are better off with LB/S+A. If you are condi, A+T has better condi than SB. SB is a better pvp weapon because of the evades, which you don’t need as much of in pve.
And a bear is fine for tanking but the bristleback hits much, much harder and more consistently. For my druid, I always pick DPS pets over tanking… they all seem to survive just fine ever since Anet introduced the damage reduction to non-targeted pets and minions.
I’d also suggest looking at the guides on dulfy.net. They were written in the early days of HoT, so they assume you’re new with very few masteries. Also tells you which ones you can solo.
For pvp you don’t need to unlock anything. Just owning HoT enables elite specs. You have to select it in the bottom specialization slot in your pvp build menu (not the normal hero panel).

I did a run of dragon stand today and opened 85 noxious pods in one run which yielded over 100 crystalline ores. So crystalline ore is hardly a problem anymore after April patch.
I know… the April patch has made the ore so much more abundant. I never bother buying machetes anymore, I just use what I am awarded and leave a bunch of unopened pods.
If you suspect a bot, just report it and let Anet do their thing. They should be able to identify the player if you give them the item and dates/times.
One thing to remember is that precursor crafting is expensive… it was meant to remove RNG, not cost. It may be cheaper than the TP, but you’re still looking at a significant cost. E.g. for Dusk, it’ll be ~650g, not including all the account bound currencies (karma, bandit crests, geodes, etc). On the TP, it’ll cost ~1000g… is that a worthwhile savings to you considering the time you’ll put in for the collections?
If you can’t see the updrafts, try adjusting your graphics settings. I can’t recall which setting did it, but setting one to higher levels (possibly post-processing) helps me see semi-transparent objects.
What I did for my necro was;
I crafted a full set of Beigarth Light armor (forgot if it was knight or soldier)
Then I reforged that in the Mystic Forge to Viper’s
It seemed cheaper at the time, although I’m not quite sure how much exactly.
It may have been cheaper at the time, but the prices are pretty much even atm. From the BLTC link above, Yassith’s Guise is approx 110g (107g at the time I checked)
Using the cheapest coat (Hronk’s):
Hronk’s Guise 98g
Viper’s insignia 9g
x5 Ectos 1.5g
Total 108.5g
If you do the same for the torch (Grizzlemouth’s → Yassith’s), you get a similar result.
You have to repeat the LS2 chapter with a character who had previously completed that chapter. Unlike the HoT story achievements, you can’t do the chapter with one character then do the achievements with an alt who is doing that particular chapter for the first time.
HoT:
Toon A does chapter. Toon B does chapter and gets achievements.
LS2:
Toon A does chapter. Toon B does chapter. Toon B repeats chapter to get achievements.
Also, be careful when you read that you should get ascended over exotic because there isn’t much difference in price. The difference may not be significant to some, but it does depend on your situation.
A couple of examples. Remember these do not include costs to get crafting from 400 to 500.
The only time ascended will be comparable to exotics in terms of cost is if you regularly do content that will reward you with ascended items that you can MF to your required stats; fractals and raids.
Depends what you want to do… only place where full ascended is 100% mandatory is high end fractals for the AR slots. In raids, it does increase your effectiveness, and some guilds will require you to get ascended for thier runs, or to avoid getting kicked out of PUGs.
Outside of that, nothing else really requires ascended.
Well I think we can all agree that the Verdant meta is EXTREMELY difficult. You have to rely on everybody in the map to do everything
T4 is not difficult. Most players already know what needs to be done to get T4, they just don’t put in the effort if they don’t feel it’s a serious attempt. It needs someone to declare it a T4 attempt, open a taxi in LFG and constantly remind everyone to spread out. Once there’s enough momentum, players in each zone will start self-organizing. It also helps if this happens during prime time.
Ever since the April patch nerf, you can afford to lose several camps and still achieve T4.
I’m sure there could be a system in place to keep the population in check.
E.g. placing a table will spawn 2-3 alts. Local NPC limits (like object limits)
It’d also be cool to randomize who appears in the hall, maybe among a pool of alts who were repping that guild when they logged out.
