Minis in the Mystic Forge

in Crafting

Posted by: pdavis.8031

pdavis.8031

From what I understand, minis can be thrown in the mystic forge. (4 of the same rarity, to get a different mini of the same, or higher rarity from any set.) I was wondering if anyone has any experience with forging minis, and if there was an option to combine minis with other mystic forge mats (globs of ecto/dark matter, mystic coins/stones, etc.)

I understand that there are some forge recipies that haven’t yet been discovered, and am curious to see if this might be an avenue to perhaps unlock those recipies.

Of course I am not talking about seasonal minis, that use seasonal mats to create in the forge. (i.e mini venatri, soldier, etc. from the first wintersday)

A surprising amount of players never use food despite how powerful it is. While it is not the items primary purpose, I would like it if it taught people how great food is and more people became eaters.

I think the reason why is because our characters are quite powerful in PvE without it. Even scaled down I found out that it doesn’t take a lot of hits to kill a monster. It’s a good thing that food isn’t necessary but sometimes I wished for a tiny bit of danger in a combat situation.

Precisely this. I already have little trouble killing enemies without food, and so I see no reason to “waste money” on food for the majority of situations. (Dungeons and Fractals are the only game mode where I will deliberately bring along food and potions.) Even in WvW, the fights I get involved in tend to come down to who has the bigger numbers; food scarcely makes a difference. (And now with the Birthday Blaster, I just spam that every 10 mins.)

Besides, I kind of like seeing if I can overcome challenges “purely on skill” without needing to resort to potions and other consumables.

Actually if you have any metobolic primers, it makes the birthday booster last for 13 hours…Just an idea

What if you threw 13 mini Jennahs, 13 globs of dark matter, 13 bloodstone shards, and 13 mystic coins into the mystic forge? Would it create Mega Jennah? It would act like a mini, in that it did nothing but follow you around, but would be life sized?

I am so going to try this!!!!!

Hey anet staff instead of focusing on this topic why not read other topics as well??

Silverfed, smart loot, class balancing, skill bugs. These topics are rampant here in forums and need attention and yet you choose to ignore them.

Anyway, im contented with this game but not happy. And from what im seeing, the declining population, this will soon rot. Hope anet pull something great and actually do something before implementing patches.

Good thing cdi is back though. Atleast players can help anet do some changes instead of anet doing changes blindly.

Tbh i dont believe anet staffs play the game at all. Some of the changes theyre doing, while looking good at paper, will worsen the game experience if implemented.

You do realize there was dev confirmation that anet sets aside time for them to play the game, and that many of them also play on their own time right?

pdavis, for what it’s worth, I’ve seen quite a lot of value in this thread over the past day. Reading through, it seems that a number of people are giving the OP’s question consideration and replying with both their own feelings and their thoughts on the general population’s mood and communication.

It’s nice to see so many players having a real discussion about the things that they both like and dislike, and I’m finding it personally helpful.

This actually does make me feel better. Thank you. I can understand the importance and value of such a discussion. I for one love this game. Ive brought my wife into it, and want to bring my son into it. (He’s only 2 so it’ll be awhile.) I love the game play, the art work, the friends ive made in my guild, the challenge of going after a legendary weapon, the story, all of it. Its very well done. But I find it distressing to see so many people just bashing on it. I took this game and made it my own, and seeing it so denigrated so many times on the forums, almost feels like a personal attack. I dont get how you guys deal with it. All the hard work, time, and yourselves you’ve all poured into this amazing game, to see it so raged against and abused. I commend you. I would have done much worse in your shoes.

I can get why people feel a certain way, that they are not happy with the game and where its going. But comparing it to other games? Its like comparing the mona lisa to a salvador dhali. But are amazing and wonder pieces of art in their own right, but neither holds a candle to the other. Demanding changes while prophecying the games destruction if its not done? Seems a lot like threatening to burn down a steak house if they won’t start serving tofu. Calling the devs lazy/liars/incompetent because they wont add a feature you want? Its like calling those who built the pyramids lazy/incompetent because they didnt add in an elevator. Im not saying any of this was in the post, but the forums in general. If there is any portion of this game that I am unhappy about, its the forums.

@kta

So your upset and predicting the end of guild wars 2 as we know it becuase its not like other MMOs? Guild wars never set out to be like other mmos. Their vision was for something very different. I and MANY others enjoy it. Like the direction its going. And thing ANET is doing a wonderful job. Sure somethings could be fixed/added. But MMOs are a work in progress.

I grow tired of these threads. I dont know why I bother posting in them anymore. Much of it is based on anger/frustration/ignorance/whatever. Of course you do have the right to express your feelings about the game. But it mostly turns into a “white knight” vs “hater” argument that leads nowhere.

Had too many bad experiences with PK in text based MUDS with getting gank by a group and having all my stuff I spent 4 months gathering stolen…

I have to agree with shadow puppet. Although the “red rings of death” as I call them would be a nice add in, I think a lot of the need for those could be mitigated entirely if we were able to turn off, or minimize partical effects. I have a screen shot of modjir? (the centuar boss) with so many effects it’s crazy. I’ll post it when I get home later. But it’s so bad you can’t see ANYTHING but a giant mess. If this was able to be reduced or removed, it wouldn’t be so bad.

I expect elder wood prices to actually rise with the start of the tournament. Elder wood is used to upgrade siege blueprints to superior. So while there is a huge influx now, much of that is going to be used up with the tournament, and prices will go back up.

@KTA

First, in the guildmag interview, it was never once said that SAB would NEVER return. It was said that SAB didn’t fit into what was going on with the current living story, so they weren’t working on releasing it right now.

This is game is built on horizontal progression. Which means no chasing after the next BiS gear set, having to have the most powerful items in the game, etc. Post level 80 progression in this game means the LS. Thats how it’s been since the beginning. (Of course you can argue about ascended gear, but you know thats not what I am referring to as Ascended gear is not needed, and is mostly niche)

Rewards? with a RNG system rewards are subjective at best. So yeah, you may not be getting tones of rares or exotics, but gold is far easier to get now then ever before, and you can buy just about anything on the TP.

Killing off the plae tree? Causing all the Silvari to kill themselves? Not likely. Removing an entire player race, and a huge component of the PS, is just dumb, and makes absolutly no sense, story or game wise to do so. However there is much we don’t know about the pale tree and its nature. But to think that it would be killed off? yeah no not so much.

I get that you are basically tired of the game, and it is going a direction you don’t like. Thats fine. But spelling out certain doom for the game without any real evidence for it, doesn’t offer much in the way of suggestions to perhaps improve the game or guide it back on a path that you’d like to see.

Zerg Tactics idea

in WvW

Posted by: pdavis.8031

pdavis.8031

I’ve been thinking about the zerg mechanics in WvW. Basically it’s a giant cluster of people running together, the fastest in the front, with stragglers barely keeping up. Many people do not like zerg v zerg battles because its basically pure chaos, and unless you are in total sync with a group, it becomes just a mess. What about having some sort of formation mechanic? Where a commander, or squad leader, can organize thier people into a smaller formation, where the player accepts their position, and has a semi limited area they can move about in without breaking formation, but have a “break formation” hot button that allows them to leave the formation and go where needed? and allow commander/squad leader the ability to release the formation?

There would still be a zerg, but it would make WvW much more tactical, and give commanders much more control over the battle by being able to direct the formations/squads.

I don’t even know if this would be possible, but the idea sounds cool in theory. Just a thought.

well if devs actually bothered releasing themselves playing dungeons such as Arah/CoE we would have general ideas… I’m thinking of 3 bearbows, 1 cleric tanking guardian+ 5 signet warrior party composition for “smooth dev” run. Of course no stacking, bannering, etc

I’ve actually run Arah with a dev. Joined the group with tag up, then turned it off before party filled up. Did all the skips, and everything. It was kinda fun, they were really cool and chatty, didn’t question or talk down to anyone. And LOLd when they got downed. So yeah, I think they do run dungeons and play along with the rest of us incognito. As a side note, I wonder how many times a dev in a PUG has been kicked for being a “noob” or not running the Meta? Just some food for thought.

what did you have now and you did not have then that you can make more gold?

I think alot of gold making activites come through knowledge, experience and research. In the beginning, as new players, we were more excited to play the game and discover Tyria. Making lots of gold, while appealing, wasn’t a huge focus for many of us. I remember when I got my first gold selling an exotic. I was really excited. I wasn’t doing a bunch of dungeon tours, or doing much farming. I was going for map completion, and working on crafting to gear my character. But as I got to level 80, had map completion, I started looking into gold making, running dungeons, farming world events and dragons, etc. At least thats my experience. I am sure there were others like me who kind did the same thing.

And then stab him for taking my name.

Yup.

@OP: Yes, there are people happy with the game. But most aren’t vocal, and it makes sense – why would you be vocal about something you’re content with? The posters are mostly those who seek to improve the game, or seek to complain about it – in both cases, they’re not content. I try to fall in the former, but as the story goes on the thing that I care about most in a game… is falling shorter and shorter in my view. Not so much the plot, but the… writing structure, I suppose? Aside from the story and the seemingly chaotic and overpushed gemstore structure, I in fact still love this game. Sad thing is that story was what I loved most about the game, and thus I find myself doing less and less when I log on. But I’m going on a tangent, apologies.

ooops misspelled it. My apologies. Either way you are well known among the lore forums as the one who knows whats what. And I think thats awesome! Keep it up.

Hmm .. this picture from Chinese Version also feeds my fears .. look at the “daily AH sales” ..
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img577/2972/0ucs.jpg

I dont think this for gw2 lol – would they add seomthing like this than this would be last day for me. I would sooo quit and delete this game^^.

Maybe not the VIP accounts .. but at least the limited transactions per day ..
you know .. “just to avoid confusion” ^^

John Smith stated several times that the high volume and velocity of the market is one of its biggest boons, so i doubt, they will put a brake like this in it.

Begs the question then of why limit AH (strange that it is called AH and not TP in the linked graphic) in the Chinese version. Is there a major difference between the amounts of items and gold generated by each version?

Its called AH and not TP because whoever photoshopped (translated the graphic from chinese to english wording) didnt know better.

Some of the major differences between the chinese and NA/EU version is that they are first of all separate clients (different games) and they follow different business models.

Does having different clients and different business models effect the TP though? If both versions generate player wealth at the same speed and the US version’s TP is a boon for controlling wealth why does the Chinese version limit TP transactions? I realize that is a big question and I am not trying to have an argument with you Wanze, just curious.

I would think that both the TP, the way the story progresses and various other changes on the Chinese Client are largly due to how the player base prefers to play. China is a VERY different culture when compared to the US, and the various cultures in the EU. Their prefered method of play is far different then ours. I would think that the TP changes in the Chinese version were made to cater to those types of players. As I don’t know much about Chinese player preferences I can only speculate, but that seems to me the most logical reason.

@op

I think it’s fantastic that you’ve spent so much time and effort into this game to achieve all of that. It shows that you REALLY do enjoy this game, but you seem to be getting burnt out. Don’t worry though. This is normal. Even in a game such as GW2 that has so much to offer, once you’ve done it, it starts to feel empty and dull. I can get that. But like some people have said, Anet can only put out stuff so fast. However I do feel that ultimatly that it is not the fault of Anet that you are feeling burnt out. Now I am not saying you should quit, or take a break (although taking a break for a bit may help) but rather revisiting those things that made you fall in love with the game. What made you start playing to begin with? what caused you to continue playing and go after all those things? Why did you do what you did? Going back to the beginning may help rekindle your enjoyment of the game until such a time that Anet brings us those new things.

I have a feeling it’s going to be more along the lines of a TP UI update, to make it “easier” for newer players, but the functionality would remain the same. I would also hope that this would also include a “use all” function for stacks of items, minus food. (i.e Essences of luck, skill point scrolls, etc). Perhaps even an auto deposite function for crafting mats. Maybe some achievements for gathering mats, somthing like “collect 5000 total mats” for a master collector title, or something. Also heres to hoping that bloodstone dust may have more uses, in that it can be used as a sub for Crystalline dust. But we have no hints, or rumors, or anything. But going along with most of the features of this patch, most of them will be QoL type stuff that will make it easier. And no i don’t think Player to Player trading will ever be an option.

It depends on which t6 you are looking for. I prefer to farm as much as I can for t6 rather then buy, as it helps keep prices down. Skelk in frostgorge and southsun are much better for bloods than trolls. Venom sacs are very plentiful on cave spiders in wvw home bl, but with the tournament coming I would recommend against it for now. Skritt are awesome for scales and bones. Risen spiders for crystalline dust, and ice brood colossus and wolves for claws and fangs.

I would imagine they don’t want to reveal any early stage features in case they cause expectations, and then fail to deliver (ie, delays, scraped plans, etc) the less people know about long term plans, the less they expect, and the less things they have to become indignant about

Thats the other side of extreme though.
I’m suggesting a middle way.

A way where Anet informs their players whats on their working table and also a time when they gather feedback from players, to even better their already awesome product.
It is a win-win.

So like a CDI where players and dev work together on a specific area? Like the one thats going to be starting soon with Chris Whiteside?

About the downed state moving to lvl 5. When it is unlocked/introduced it wont come as a shock. When you gain a level, there is a pop up that shows what you are gaining for that level, as well as a look into what is coming in the next level. So at lvl 4, you are made aware of a “new downed state”. Then at lvl 5, you are shown how the downed state works. They arent just throwing it at you.

So the changes for new players are not important? Nor major changes? Only in a few select circumstances does the player base agree on what it wants. Now there are some that dont like them, but there are also just as many if not more who either dont care, or like them. My wife, as a new player, actually likes them. I as a veteran player, think they are a great idea. Its a well known fact that the majority of the player base isnt represented on the forums. It would be more accurate to say that a majority of a small percentage of players wanted something else. But I dont even think thats the case.

Some of you guys need to check the dev feed now and then, as this has already been commented on. People who are leveling will get a marginal nudge in drops towards their armor weight/usable weapons. “Marginal” being the key word. According to the dev post most people won’t even notice much of a difference. And while yes, level 80’s will still be affected by this, again, “marginal” is the key word here. Please look it up.

You know, the change from bolts of silk being 2 scraps to 3, was also supposed to be a “marginal” thing to eat up some of the silk supply. When that was compounded with the ascended crafting requirements the silk market absolutely imploded.

Just because they think it’s going to be a “marginal” change, doesn’t mean they’re completely underestimating the impact even a “subtle” nudge can have on the overall economy.

Changes to basic game mechanics like the loot system and the crafting system (as has already been shown with the permanent bolt of silk recipe change) can have major impacts in a game with millions of players.

Yeah the change to silk was a marginal change, but it was also intended for ascended to use that much silk. The market didnt “implode”. It actually bears the prices for all cloth rather well. Yes there is an increased demand, thus an increased suppply, but the prices are what people are willing to pay for them. Even if this new change is as bad as gobax and others are claiming its going to be, then speculators would be buying silk in droves, amd we would see the prices start to rise. But silk has actually dropped 16c since yesterday. All this will do is increase supply, which will drive prices even further down. Thus making the proposed “unfair advantage” of light armor classes even less of an issue. The market reacts very quickly to changes like this, and bears them very well. We may see a small spike, but it will balance out again fast, and there wont be much of an issue.

Why would you put wvw in this discussion?

You can’t farm in PvE. There’s no way to make tons of legit gold off of stuff in PvE without cheating. The megaservers have made it really hard to farm monsters because there are so many people killing monsters for mats. If I’m lucky, I’ll end up on a map that has a few mobs to kill Even with a high magic find and farming those few mobs, monsters don’t always drop salvagable stuff. Alot of times, the monsters will drop junk these days (mangled talons, goop, etc). The only exception to this rule has been Dry Top.

The only place where I farm for armor to salvage for silk and high level stuff is in WvW. My magic find is 115%. I get tons of greens, blues, and yellows. That’s just from playing the game with a medium-sized guild group that is willing to fight battles. If you kill enemy players, you get armor. It’s that simple. The only catch is that one has to be a skilled, high powered player to get bags of loot.

Ummmm. So all the T6 I farmed in frostgorge, the cloth I farmed in timberland falls, the mats I farmed in southsun, and other pve places dont count? There are great places to farm in pve if you know where to go.

Well it seems anet isnt even thinking and just keeps on making changes that are not even needed.

Atleast im trying to save this game from failing. I just hope anet is true to their word that they read posts.

Aside from fanboys, Many have also contributed here stating the same arguments so im not alone who can see where this is going.

The point is, that this game is in no danger of failing. That’s what was said about mega servers, ascended gear, trait change, and making dungeons once per day. But the game continues to thrive, and these changes geared toward new players shows that there has been an increase of new players, enough to make a whole feature pack catering to them.

Well i kinda exagerrated on failing part. Of course this will never fail. People will just move to light armor classes and farm. I know ill do that once the patch hits us

I love this game. And will play til it dies. Its just sad that other classes will not be as viable for farming as light armored ones.

Im still not convinced of that. Its such a small increase as it makes little difference in the long run. You’d have to have a ridiculous amount of drops for it even to be considered an advantage. 1g over 430 gear drops isnt that much.

@gobax

“The implementation will surely destroy the current pve experience”

So this will ruin dungeons, the living story, jumping puzzles, guild missions, dynamic events, and temples? How? Ever stop to think that maybe the pve experience isnt about how much gold one can make per hour? But rather having fun? There are tons of players that arent concerned with how much gold they can get, or have. What about the RP community? Is it in jeopardy too because they will now have a better chance at getting loot they can use?

Blanket statements like this show that you have no idea what makes the “the current pve experience” and how out of touch you are with this game. Also, with such a minimal change, as I showed in my previous post, shows “such a clear advantage” not really much of an advantage at all. About 1 gold more per 430 drops at a rate of 1 drop out of 10 of armor class specific gear. And I think 1 out of 10 is far too generous. A drop rate said by the devs to be “barely noticable”

Either way, this is not game breaking. Any such designs will have been run by John Smith, and if he felt it would have such a huge impact on the economy it wouldnt be the way that it is. Silk wasn’t an accident, it was done that way on purpose. And the market bears it just fine.

Reconsider greatsword damage nerf

@maha

Why nerf it? Because too many whiners thought warrior was OP and hundred blades was OP. Which of course is not true. While pushing HB to the the limits, apparently too many people thought is was a cheap OP mechanic in PvE because it allowed a warrior to do large amounts of burst damage at once and thats unfair because they want to do the same with a bearbow ranger, which apparently isnt fair. I know its stupid, but thats what happenes when too many people whine about something stupid.

Because while fixing bugs does help, changing things about peoples characters makes them look at their character and thus keeps them playing.

Oh my bad! Here I thought it was the useless outfits they keep putting in the gem store and the lame living story they keep adding every few weeks.

Things that get your character killed repeatedly for no reason I guess is just NO BIG DEAL

See, you get it!!

Reconsider greatsword damage nerf

in Warrior

pdavis.8031

As much as it may hurt warriors with this nerf, I don’t see it being a major issue.
Will DPS be down a bit? Yes. Will speed clears take a bit longer? Yup. Will Beserker GS meta no longer be viable? Nope not in the slightest. The same things were said about the change to ferocity and beserker gear nerf. Beserker GS warriors were supposed to disappear, and a new meta was supposed to arise out of their ashes like some sort of phoenix. As it is now, after the ferocity change, beserker gear change, and the rune changes (that were also supposed to make beserker warriors obsolete) beserker GS warrior is still arguably still the highest DPS in the game. Lowering this ~5% with the GS isn’t going to change that.

So aside from a few extra seconds to dungeon run, which probably won’t be noticed much unless you are timing for a record or something, nothing will really change. Things will continue on as normal, and beserker warriors will rule the world.

what did I say that was not in that post or a logical inference?

WvW and PvP: buttons for immediate access removed till levels 18 and 22

As it was full stated…

“WvW and PvP will be messaged to players via the level-up notification system at levels 18 and 22, and the buttons in the top left will be hidden until then, but experienced users can use the portals in Lion’s Arch or use hot keys to access those game modes immediately.

If the story is available at level 2, then there is no “big moment”. No “looking forward to earning and unlocking it”.

The big moment at the start of the game is the intro into the game and learning the basic mechanics through Chapter 1 story line.

I’m not sure why everyone is thinking it has to be level 10… So let me get this straight, everyone thinks that once you create a new character you skip the intro and part 1 of the first chapter until level 10? And just randomly pop into the game? That makes no sense…

The intro leads into the first part of chapter 1. First chapter is content for level 1-10… so you have to be level 10 to play level 1 content? What??? And so to play Chapter 2 (lvl 11-20) you need to be level 20? That’s completely backwards.

Chapter one part 2 leads you to your first scout and your first heart to get you started in exploring the game. To remove this until level 10 would make absolutely zero sense and would actually negatively impact what they are talking about doing in the update.

It makes much more sense for you to unlock Chapter 2 at 10 since that’s for 11-20 content. Everyone is taking what they are saying out of context, speculating, and panicking before any real details is released.

I agree. However all the arguements saying that it is at level 10 is based on how the Chinese Client works. And apparently some of the thing being implemented are from the Chinese Client. So the fear is that this is going to come over as well. Although I believe there is no justification for that fear. Such a change would surely be announced, as it is a MAJOR change, but not a hint of it was mentioned in the blog, which leads me to believe that this isn’t the case.

Can lvl2 enter PvP Lobby after patch?

So I have to wonder what the logic is in hidding the buttons from new players… Either they can or can’t pvp until a certain level. it makes no sense to hide the shortcut buttons but still be able to enter via portals.

smh.

Just guessing, but the assumption is that without prior knowledge of these game modes most new players won’t poke around for them. It allows Anet the ability to offer a sense of “progression” for new players without actually locking anything away.

That and I think that it gives new players more of a chance to get familiar with basic combat mechanics and profession features before dropping these game modes on them.

Nope. All the changes for new players, are for just that. New players. As a vet, rolling alts, you can still pretty much continue to do everything as normal. There will be some level pop ups that would be kind of interesting, but nothing that is going to ruin a veterens experience in leveling an alt.

Yeah I agree, a new profession/race would be cool, but it wouldn’t stop the complaints. Even something as awesome as the wardrobe was released. TONS of complaints about that. A new zone opened up, nothing but complaints. People will always find something to complain about. If all the options that people want were implemented, the complaints would then become “why did Anet turn this game into another MMO clone. It was fine before, but this is stupid.”I guess there is no pleasing anybody.

The best way to farm gold is to farm real life money, buy gems, and convert that to gold. Even a low paying job should yield close to 100 gold per hour.

yup, and converting gems to gold is also great for the gem exchange as it will help to lower prices for gems with gold.

Don't dumb down the game!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

pdavis.8031

I don’t feel it’s dumbing down the game at all. Most of the players here are veteren MMO and video games players from back in the days of NES and before. Most of these mechanics are almost second nature to us. I’ve introducted my wife to the world of Tyria. She has 0 background in video games (still has trouble with the controls for wii bowling) and less then 0 experience in PC gaming, and MMOs. Just learning the very basic combat mechanics (attacking, which skills do what, dodging) has been difficult, as well as the camera controls. I taught her much, and she is getting better. But it still is a bit daunting at times, especially when 3 or more enemies are in the area. I showed her the blog, and the changes coming. And she was really excited to get back into it. As it was offering more explainations, tips, and hints to help her figure out the game, what is happening when she levels up, and other useful information.

As a vet player teaching someone new, this is awesome for me as well. I don’t need to spend half my time trying to teach her every little aspect, can we can both spend our time leveling and enjoying the game.

If you are a vet player, making an alt, you can skip/ignor all of that and continue playing normally. It’s really not that big of a deal.

Don’t merge the servers, and please merge the servers….hmmmm I don’t know what to do!?!?!

Well, since RNG is a favorite tool here abouts, merge a random number of servers!

But RNG being RNG, there also is a chance the no servers get merged, as well as all serveres get merged into one…

If it’s Anet’s RNG we’ll all be rolled into greens….

LOL that actually made me laugh…Thats awesome…

Seriously though, I don’t see why servers should be merged. If your home server isn’t WvW oriented, then switch servers. It’s too expensive? then ask for help. It’s quite simple really.

Healing of Orr (just for fun) Season 3

in Living World

This would be awesome!

But it would have to be done in instances. Otherwise newer players finishing up their PS would be super confused, and none of the events would make any sense at all. But from purely a story stand point, I think there could be some really cool things that could be done with the cleansing of Orr. The Priory would more then likely be at the forefront as far as the rituals go, and the calling of the gods. But having the summoning not go quite as expected resulting in a return of the Mursaat, or something could be really cool.

Smart loot system = death to med and heavy!!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Yes people farm t5 and t6 mats for money. But gears can also contribute to what people are gaining gold from.

If given a choice, farm t5 and t6 mats with heavy / med armor and get crappy armors on the side or farm t5 and t6 mats with a light armor user and get light armors on the side as an additional profit, almost everyone in their right mind will choose the 2nd option.

Why waste your time farming with heavy / med armor wherein you can clearly get more gold when you use light armor classes.

But that is assuming as a heavy/medium player you won’t ever see light armor drops. Or see a significant reduction in light armor drops. The devs stated that it will be such a small change, that likely you won’t even notice. (Unless you are cataloging all of your gear drops now, and then after the patch to do a comparison.) So I would say, even if 1 drop in 10 had a chance to be something profession specific it wouldn’t be so much of a difference as to make people choose a light class over a heavy to farm. 1 drop in 10 means that for every 10 items dropped a heavy player would miss out on at least 2s31c. and a light class could potentially gain 2s31c (current price of silk scrap on the TP). Over all they would have to loot about 430 gear items to make at least 1 gold more.

(1g/2s31c = 43.29 items salvaged. 43.29*10 (1 drop in 10)=432 total items looted.)

Majority or not doesnt change the fact that light armor classes will have advantage than heavy and med armor classes.

People farm to make gold. People who love playing heavy med armor classes will now be forced to make light armor classes because the latter has a clear advantage on getting profitable loots.

It sucks to see that this game which is supposed to be fair to everyone is giving a clear advantage to light armor classes when it comes to gold making.

Actually, in farming, it’s not the gear loot that is the most valuable. Gear loot is a happy side effect. People who farm tend to farm for mats (T5 and T6) So heavy classes will still be able to gather cloth, not only from salvaging, because yes they are still getting med/light armor, but bags as well. If you are farming for gear to try to get your cloth, there are easier ways to do it.
