YAY!!!

Someone who can see the bright side of life!!

Please positive feedback is just as important as negative. It shows what was done right, instead of a blanket “This is awful!!”. Gotta know what works, and what doesn’t to be able to fix what doesn’t. Thanks!!

wow do people actually take these threads seriously? OP is probably about 14 years old anyway.

A 14 year old with a 6 year old son? They were 8 when they became a parent? Not likely. The point of the thread, is that the OP is unhappy with the NPE changes, and many of us are as well.

No, my point is that the “son” is entirely fictitious, the OP is probably about 14 and has made this thread in an attempt to undermine/expose how patronising some of these new gameplay changes are.
How or what I feel about the update aside, this sort of behaviour is ridiculous and rather immature, and actually undermines the feedback of people based upon real experience.

But of course there is no way to verify the OPs claim. In any event, whether it’s a fictionous troll, or something that actually happened, I don’t see it as undermining any feedback from personal experience at all. The OP isn’t happy with the change, and chose to express that displeasure in the manner they did. Quibbling about whether or not the alleged 6 year old exists is kinda pointless, and I have no idea why I am even continuing this conversation………

That probably means they will allow extras to be tossed in the Forge with the next patch….

You already could toss extras into the forge…

WvW and ComTag Colors

in WvW

Posted by: pdavis.8031

pdavis.8031

I like the idea of defining the tag colors. However, what color does what should strictly be at the discretion of the server. That way when an enemy sees a colored tag he thinks: Is that a tower busting zerg? Or just a large interferance zerg? Wait, small group with a yellow tag. Scout? or havoc?

It has been my experience that enemies cannot see each other’s commander tags.

Good point. Although I never really looked for a tag, when trying to stay alive in a zerg battle. Either way, it should be server specific instead of a standard.

Being able to find tag can mean life or death for your server in an open field combat situation. It can be the difference between a well stacked and composed force with no signs of weakness and an unorganized open target with their back line casters exposed.
I would suggest getting the hang of finding tag. If your server has one worth following.

Oh of course! I was referring to enemies tags, and being in a battle, I wasn’t trying to find their tags. I do try to keep an eye on our tags.

Again, being this something thats dealt with in an incredible short time I don’t see the reason for so many people to be so upset up, how many alts does an altholic have and how often do they start one for this to be such a huge deal?

Gating skills with levels was always a game mechanic, now it takes a bit longer, arguably, since I think now, minute for minute, you’ll be able to unlock every weapon skill faster than you could.
You still play it the same way, only now maybe new players will take the time to understand individual skills and don’t get the impression the game is too spammy, while vets, again, will deal with it quick enough to be any real bother.

Personal story was never, ever meant to be played one instance after the other from beginning to end.
It was actually quite a common complain that new players brought to the forums while seasoned players explained they couldn’t do that, countless were the threads about this and how the game failed to tell people they had to step away from the personal story now and then to gain a few levels before they could continue, it was poor design many said.
Now that Anet locks it to avoid people falling into it and having a bad time, that’s a reason to complain?

Weapon skills: While leveing is a bit faster, and one can argue that unlocking weapon skills this way is faster, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s the perception of a forced grind. The other way felt much more natural, was easier to understand, and had more of a sense of progression. This way just makes it feel much more limited, no flow, and grindy. I want to fully unlock my weapon? hold on let me grind a few levels first. Instead of I want to fully unlock my weapon? KILL ALL THE THINGS!!!11 (because killing things is fun ) It doesn’t matter how many alts you have, or how often you roll a new one, these things should not be locked behind a certain level. This isn’t D&D.

Skills/utilities/traits: By the time I am level 13 I should already be using my professions unique abilities. Not just learning about them. Even if it’s just 1. The utilies greatly change how you play. Gating abilities behind progress is fine, but not behind X level. Progress does not always equal leveling up. I like the idea of unlocking traits behind events, and certain things. It adds progression. But locking them behind a level? Not ok. Again, it add grind and removes the natural flow of progression and discovery.

PS: One of the great things about the PS is I could do it at any level. The recommended level was there, but doing it under leveled was fun and a bit of a challenge. If I wanted to, I could just do PS and explore and enjoy the game. Now I feel I have to grind out to level 10, just to be able to start using my character, and enjoying the game. Finished with the first chapter, but still not level 20? Oh, back to grinding. Again, no natural progession, not flow, and it feels forced.

If players were having a hard time ,sure they could go away, level up, and come back. I never felt I HAD to be a certain level to do the PS. Even as a new player. I actually did many of the story steps underleveled, and it was hard, but it was fun and exciting. This new way removes that optional challenge, forces me to grind out a few more levels just to be able to play it, and so it’s not “too challenging”.

It’s not about how faster/easier it is. It’s about how we feel forced to grind, forced to do something, and forced to play the game a certain way. And if you don’t do it this way, then you can’t play the game. Thats why we are upset, and thats why we are speaking out.

To put it another way, lets say you bought a shirt at J.C. Pennys. It’s a great shirt, and you really love it, and wear it everyday. It’s your most favorite shirt of all time. Then you get a letter from J.C. Pennys saying “You can no longer wear that shirt on Tuesdays, Thursdays after 5pm, and Sundays. And when you do wear the shirt, you can only wear the shirt with blue jeans, burmuda shorts, or black leggings. However, for the first month we will only allow you to wear it with the leggings. The second month, with leggings and/or shorts, and the third month with pants. After that you can choose a combination, or one of these things. Any accessories you want to wear with the shirt will be available at a later time, and we will notify you when those things become available. Thank you!”

@OP

If you are happy with the updates that is great!! But bear in mind, that there are also many who are not. Those who are not happy, have a responsibility to let Anet know. If there was no negative feedback, then they wouldn’t know what needs to change. Now all negative feedback doesn’t have to be rude, or mean, but still lets them know that something isn’t right. If you, and others are happy with it, please, please, please, share that as well. What are the things about it that you like? Why do you like it? is there anything that should change? Etc.

There is an unofficial feedback thread here (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Feature-pack-9-9-feedback/page/8#post4396285) and it doesn’t have to be negative. If you have a positive experience thats good! We need more positive feedback. It helps to see both sides. Please consider posting your thoughts there. Thanks!

Do you only see things in black and white? Why the penchant for false dichotomy?

This case is black and white because there’s nothing complicated about it.

The only people upset are the ones that lost the keyfarm, but aren’t even brave enough to openly admit that.

Instead they go around complaining how bad it is for gameplay and combat depth in early levels when they couldn’t care less about something they’d normally only do once every few months (read create a new alt to play) and that’s dealt with in an hour.

If people are upset about losing the farm, they should say so, not hide behind false concern and give Anet an ultimatum, all people ever wanted was to power level, levelling to 10 is allegedly faster now than it was before, so what’s the problem? You know, besides no more keyfarm?

As a one time key farmer, I wasn’t upset that the key farm was removed. I am upset at how terrible the NPE is, especially for those who like to have alts. Yes, leveling is faster now. Thats not the issue. The issue is level gating everything, and treating me like I don’t know what I’m doing. Before I was able to get all my weapon skills unlocked around level 5, and that was if I wasn’t grinding them out quickly. Now I have to wait until level 10. I can no longer use any utilities until level 13. By level 10 before I was able to have at least a couple unlocked by doing all the skill points, and using scrolls if I had any. While I don’t mind the compass thing, as I can turn it off, or the dodging tutorials and what not. Those things are optional and I can skip them. But thats not the issue. The main issue, at least for me, is being dictated on how I should play the game. Why do I need to grind out levels, just to be able to use the skills inherent with my character? Why do I need to wait until X level to be able to play the story? The first chapter unlocks at 10. Thats fine, whatever, I can deal with it. But I can go straight through those chapters, and maybe level up a bit. But I can’t do the next chapter until I get to level 20. So I have to step away from a “seamless” story to grind out some more levels, just to continue the story. I like the story, and want to go through it, but am restricted on when Anet feels that I can. I goes against EVERYTHING an MMO is all about. And thats why I am upset. Its not the key farm, its the NPE that ruins it for new players, and vets alike.

Level up rewards for after lvl 80?

I had a level 79 character waiting to level to 80 after the patch.
The reward is one Obsidian Shard.

EDIT: Oh, you mean AFTER we’re already level 80. Well that would be nice too.

Yeah, got that too…was a bit disappointed. The 78>79 reward was a Large crafting bag, which was pretty cool. But yeah, a level up reward after 80 would be kind cool. Maybe something link a champ bag or something. Heck even a heavy bag could be cool. I don’t know.

People who come to the forums typically fall into one of two categories:

1. Those who have a strong opinion that they feel the world needs to know about.
2. Those who have a question and are looking for an answer.

Paying people to post on the forums would not have any impact on group 1 and would only help group 2. Of course, there are plenty of people already helping group 2 for free, so paying people to post on the forums would mean they are paying people for no reason.

Still it begs the question. if you go and look at certain people’s times spent on the forums by watching their time stamps on their posts. they literally have only 8 hour slots between the times they come on here sometimes 6 which means that they are literally spending more time here then they are in game and only having enough time outside of the forums to actually do normal human things like shower, eat and sleep. And they are posting every hour on the hour.

I am one of those people you speak of. Yes I spend more time on the forums then I do in game. The reason? My job is such that I can browse and post on the forums for most of my 8 hour shift. But after work, I don’t play until after my kid goes to bed, but can’t log in for large chunks of time, as I need to sleep as well. Does this mean I am paid by Anet to speak high praise of their game? Not at all. It means I am so freaking bored, and my job is a snoozefest.

I can see how it might be decent for a brand new player to MMOs. However, it is terrible for alts, and even veteran video gamers in general. Now if people were picking up GW2 as their very first PC game, it might be a different story. I did reserve my judgments until I played it. I leveled up a ranger until level 10. Yes it do go a bit faster, but I still found it incredibly annoying that weapon skills, and other abilities were level gated. Not having pet control (or other class mechanic) until a later level REALLY was a terrible idea. I almost didn’t make it to level 10 I was so dissapointed. However, that is the view point of a vet, with several alts. I am still trying to get my wife to try it as she is a new player, with VERY limited MMO/gaming experience, and has a much different perspective on it. I will post her thoughts when she gets around to it.

You make it sound like farming is a bad thing. For all we know, key farmers are doing so because it’s the only thing left they enjoy in the game. How would you feel if the last aspect of the game that you like gets removed for no valid justification? Anet already stated that it is acceptable after all.

Nobody enjoys key farming, it’s a 10~15 minute loop people repeat N times for a chance to get tickets so they can trade them for expensive skins to sell them on the market for gold.

And I didn’t say it was specifically a bad thing, although I’d rather get shot on the back of the head than key farm all day.
What I said was, they’re discontent because these changes affect their farm, but they complain like it’s a bad thing mechanic-wise when in reality they couldn’t care less about that.

Even if they do make an alt to actually play, they’ll sail over this new leveling to 10 in less than hour.
In the old system people would just #1#1#1#1 anyway, now they’re complaining there’s not enough dept in the first hour of the game? Not to mention a veteran player has a few tomes to jump to 20 right away by now.

I actually didn’t mind key farming. It was kind of fun. Didn’t do it all the time, but a couple of runs here and there.

Anet wouldn’t touch me with a 20 foot pole. I’m far too contraversial. Not to mention the fact that people ignore the negative stuff I’ve said, and just focus on the positive. But I have said negative stuff. I don’t like the way the new trait system was handled, for example.

No one here is being paid for being a fan, any more than a fan of a sports team that defends their team is being paid. Because you don’t have to pay people to be fans of something.

I really enjoy my time in Tyria. I have fun here. I have a great guild. Of course I’m going to defend it.

Why should anyone have to pay me for that.

Even IF that were the case, would they come out and confirm or deny it? If they said that no they weren’t paying or rewarding people, would anyone believe them? If they were to confirm that yes, people were indeed being compensated to promote the game on the forum, would they have ANY credibility afterward on anything they say or did?

I personally see no reason to believe that anyone is getting compensated (with the expception of the devs themselves) for posting anything on the forums. People will toss that around, more as a tongue in cheek response to those who don’t agree with them. It’s either you are a dev in disguise, blind, stupid, a “white knight”, or a combination of all of them.

Just finished that video…WOW! He makes a lot of great points! But hearing his reaction kinda makes me sad. I agree, it WAS a great game, and still is, at level 80. I really hope the devs take some time to watch this and maybe reconsider some of these changes. It’s not too late.

(Talking it over on the forum is fine too–sharing the details with us and other players can be enormously helpful)

Second, datamined content is unfinished and subject to an enormous amount of change, so it’s always a bad idea to make assumptions about a situation based on it.

You actually think they playtested this and didn’t just port the China coding over?

There’s legitimate posts on reddit from Arena Net staff about that.

Can we cut out the childish mockery and focus on the valid points that will get devs to take us seriously?

If they were taking us seriously they’d have a public test realm.

And they wouldn’t post on Reddit, that marvelous location of free speech ~_~

Yes, because posting on their own forums and getting mocked here is much better than being mocked there.

They wouldn’t be getting mocked if they didn’t release a patch with more bugs than a entomology laboratory.

They’ve tossed us a patch, a patch that contains such wonders as not being able to join friends unless you have a VIP item that they swore would never ‘ever’ come to the Western version of the game.

This was datamined and confirmed to be inaccurate. But yeah patch was buggy, but with the bug fixes i think this will be a decent patch, minus the leveling thing of course.

I was not really a part of the suggestion forums, so i can’t comment on that.

But the trait thread is still going strong, as well as most other feedback threads that were merged. Yes the devs read them but dont always respond. If we are trying to get our opinions heard, having 37 threads about the same thing popping up, isnt going to help, as it means more time to try to monitor everything.

Because having 1 massive thread is doing wonders for the trait system right?

Hey all,

-snip-

TLDR;
We added this system as a direct result from the horizontal progression CDI. We are always reading your feedback, however, we don’t always have time to respond right away or action it quickly. We updated some trait unlocks in the past but we can do more. How can you help?
1) Give us a list of the most offensive trait unlock locations.
2) Keep giving feedback and be patient as this is a big ship and it takes time to steer it.

From the trait feedback thread. The new trait system was added because WE asked for it.

But back on topic. Theses feedback threads are good, lets keep them up, and try to keep it organized. Thanks!

Option: Disable Commander Tag

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: pdavis.8031

pdavis.8031

It’s a happy fad, that won’t last. Everyone is all excited they now have colored tags,a nd are just showing them off. After about a week or so you’ll start seeing it die off when people realize that trying to coordinate with so many tags causes them to fail everytime. Then you’ll see only colored tags when they are needed. Like red for attacking teq, Yellow for running interferance where needed. Blue for North defense, Green for south defense, purple for middle defense. Or something like that. I can almost bet TTS already has something figured out.

What if someone is not partaking in the tequault event? Do they need to see the tags. Like I mentioned above, it is such a trivial task to implement a toggle on off option that I can’t see any reason why it should not be available. Do players take offense because I have toggled their name off and can not see it? To me it is the same principle.

If you are not participating in said events where tags are usefull, then it shouldn’t be an issue. This issue now is tags are everywhere with people showing them off, which by some reports is causing these events to fail as no one knows who is actually in command and showing off a tag. Which leads to confusion. My point is, it will die our, and tags will be used to organize, and life will continue on as normal.

The OP didnt really give any context to wanting the ability to turn tags off, so i can only assume this is what he referring to.

While I really think a CDI about guilds would be very usefull, I just think it wouldn’t be very usefull to discuss guild related things at this time.
The forum is flooded with (healthy and constructive)discussions/raging/complaining etc. about the latest feature patch. That’s what is moving the forum right now.

I think it would be best if someone of the development team, doesn’t necessarily has to be Chris, would first open some kind of CDI regarding the latest feature patch.

I would really like to see improvents on guilds, don’t get me wrong, I just think we won’t get 100% out if it while the majority of the forum is moved by another thing.

Many others and myself are reading the other threads. i think its best to hear all the comments and give folks more time to play with their alts before discussing so……

….once i get my doc finished then let’s begin the CDI.

Chris

I agree with Illuminati, I could not care less about guild features, what we really need to talk about is stuff like fixing the new TP, and the new leveling system, and the various other issues caused by the patch.

While I think a great many players also agree, the CDI for guilds was talked about before the patch. I Feel that continuing on with the much anticipated CDI is very important, not only for the players, but for the devs as well. While these issues with the feature are important and a hot topic right now, anything they say on the matter is only going to get them tarred and feathered with the current mood of the forums. They are reading, and taking note of whats being said, and will adress it when appropiate. I don’t think jumping into the midst of a restless mob is going to calm down anyone. The moment a red post pops up in any of those threads is going to be like blood in the water for the sharks.

Let the guild CDI go on as planned, and let everyone calm down a bit and breath.

Chris thank you for actively replying in this thread to a variety of posts. The forums feel a lot like shouting at a closed door and knowing someone’s reading is important.

Thanks Eye,

Loads of us are reading the forums. i am just the one who is communicating when i should actually be paying attention to the meeting i am in (-:

Chris

I hope it’s the meeting about the resume I sent in :P

Feature pack 9/9: feedback

A bit off topic: Can we please stop with all “X was too confusing for new players so they locked it behind a higher level” posts? It’s been one day and I’ve already seen it used for everything from posting on the forums, to logging into the game. (Yeah I know I touched on it myself, and deeply regret it now) It’s starting to get old, and offers nothing in the way of feedback. Thank you.

On topic: As far as the classes changes, I haven’t seen too much of a difference, but didn’t spend too much time on my level 80s to notice. Spent all my play time on a new character to learn about the new leveling system.

WvW and ComTag Colors

I like the idea of defining the tag colors. However, what color does what should strictly be at the discretion of the server. That way when an enemy sees a colored tag he thinks: Is that a tower busting zerg? Or just a large interferance zerg? Wait, small group with a yellow tag. Scout? or havoc?

It has been my experience that enemies cannot see each other’s commander tags.

Good point. Although I never really looked for a tag, when trying to stay alive in a zerg battle. Either way, it should be server specific instead of a standard.

So the question now is the current environment conducive to starting a CDI or should I wait a few days?

Chris

I would say start it now. It would be a sign of good faith on your part. It would show that we really do matter, and that you are sticking to your word. That in and of itself will have much more of a positive impact, then waiting until things cool down. Just be sure to make it VERY clear that the other issues and things to be discussed are not being forgotten, or swept under the rug, and will be adressed as soon as possible.

@OP

Great post! Good points, and well said.

I’ve created a general feedback thread for this very purpose. Would you mind terrribly posting this there? That way we can keep all such things in one area, making it much easier for the devs to review, rather than hunting down 15 different threads about the same thing. Thanks!!

Option: Disable Commander Tag

It’s a happy fad, that won’t last. Everyone is all excited they now have colored tags,a nd are just showing them off. After about a week or so you’ll start seeing it die off when people realize that trying to coordinate with so many tags causes them to fail everytime. Then you’ll see only colored tags when they are needed. Like red for attacking teq, Yellow for running interferance where needed. Blue for North defense, Green for south defense, purple for middle defense. Or something like that. I can almost bet TTS already has something figured out.

Okay: I understand that everyone is angry about this, myself included.
That said, I think there are other sides worth considering.

First: What if the tutorial stuff were optional?

Second, what if ANet combined the old system of getting weapon skills and the new one? If you use one weapon enough, like previously, you get more skills, but after level 10 you have all the skills on weapons you’ve never used before.

Third: Downed state should (In my opinion) be fully unlocked as it used to be. That was a pretty bad move. That said, locking the third skill, while really annoying, doesn’t affect the game much. I don’t know about anyone else, but I barely ever use it on non-ranger characters.

Fourth: If you were to make the tutorial optional, (And I cannot stress this enough) Give new characters a choice from the start. That way, vets can go without, people from other MMOs can try the game without the tutorial, and new players who aren’t confident can go through it. DO NOT put the “Disable tutorial” button hidden somewhere in the options menu.

Does anybody else have any suggested fixes for the rather poor changes this patch?

I like the optional idea. But i think extending the “tutorial” starting sequence, adding in dodging tutorial, weapon skills etc. would have worked much better. Also I don’t mind the unlocking new weapon skills, but it should be done every level, instead of every other level. One level, even done quickly, is more then enough time to get used to the skill.

Let's keep track of how many friends we lose.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

pdavis.8031

I can’t remember their character names so I’ll just use numbers:

1) Started school and didn’t have time to play.
2) Started a second job and didn’t have time to play.
3) Powered through everything playing 12-14 hours a day, and got bored.
4) Had a kid and stopped playing games in general.
5) Went back to WoW because they had more long time friends there and felt lonely.

Most of these left due to life circumstances, and only a couple left for reasons with GW2. Although they really enjoyed the game, they just couldn’t keep playing.

Open a support ticket and demand a refund for the changed functionality of the item. They’ll oblige or inform you that this was a bug that they’re going to fix, but either way you’ll win.

I would, but I like my salvage-o-matic and don’t want a refund. Maybe I’ll check in the bugs…

I don’t know if it’s supposed to be this way, but it’s getting really annoying – i’m running my minionmancer, doing wc in metrica and after being summoned my minions die in one moment with no reason(at least no reason i can see) – this a new bug?

More then likely. Probably get disabled like minis due to “excessive population” Submit a bug report and it should be addressed soon.

Sweet!!

Looking forward to it.

But I would reccomend maybe as another CDI taking a second look at this new leveling system, and how it effects vets, and what can be done about it would go a very long way in taking care of your loyal players. Just a thought.

We are keenly looking at all the feedback and will continue to do so.

I am focusing on trying to get the CDI out today as I am already late )-:

It doesnt matter if the update is for 6 year olds, hell even two year olds, as long as new players like it (which Anet specifically says it is for) then you really shouldnt care. In case you don’t realize this is an MMORPG, that means long leveling process, items and skills you are supposed to get over a LONG period of time, things you do over a LONG period of time. You arent supposed to be repeating the leveling process so many times, and if you do it sure as hell won’t be as satisfying as the first time. Those who do, do it to try out a new class at end game and for the personal story, which you can do at level 80 once you use the tomes and scrolls.

You know, Ragion, if I wanted an MMO experience like other MMOs out there, I’d be playing those other MMOs. “This change makes it more like other titles in the genre” is not a good argument for altering what makes your game stand out. And when your game is the “fastest-selling MMO ever”, you shouldn’t need to make changes like that, because your formula clearly worked well enough to be an advertising talking point for the better part of a year.

I agree. Although I think if this leveling system was optional, or at least we had MUCH more information going into it (the blog was kind of vague) I think there wouldn’t be as much of an outrage. But yeah, conforming because “thats what everyone else does” is ALWAYS a bad a idea, and I feel will come back to bite them in the end.

I can think of several “reasonable” reasons why LS was pushed back.

1) Give new players a chance to get caught up to level 80.
They must have a really good indication that a large influx of new players were going to be coming over, or are seeing large numbers of new players coming in. Enough to justify changing the whole system for them.

2) They are working on creating a whole (complete) new zone/fractal/dungeon to continue Episode 3, as well as new world bosses etc.

3) They are allowing people to take time off and use their vacations at this time in order to be able to have “all hands on deck” for the new LS, and whatever else they have planned.

5) Was planning on rolling an alt but decided to wait until after patch to check new leveling, and was sorely disappointed.

6) Trying to get my wife to play more and was excited because it was supposed to be “easier and user friendly” and am upset that it makes it needlessly more complicated.

Solutions for FP: New leveling system

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: pdavis.8031

pdavis.8031

Roll back the current system, and use the Hint section to explain offhand weapons, Masterwork gear, gathering, weapon swapping, etc.

Return weapon skills to being unlocked through use, rather than levels. Having only a few skills to use at a time makes for incredibly boring gameplay, even for new players. In addition, the current system let’s new players equip a weapon they haven’t used before, but if they’re a high enough level it gives them the full range of skills, defeating the point of slowly opening up skills one by one to get used to them.

As for the Downed state, which is easily the most confusing part for new players, I remember back in the BWEs (and possibly even just after launch), all the intro bosses had an attack that instantly downed all players, and forced them to use the mobs that the bosses spawned to rally. Bring this back, with a quick tutorial beforehand to explain what’s going to happen and what to do.

Because really, as it stands at the moment, I feel like this new experience isn’t a very appealing one, for new players and veterans alike. The first 15-20 levels end up being incredibly boring, and fail to show off the depth of GW2’s combat, making it feel very much like every single other MMO out there.

Weapon skills: What about a hint pointing to the tool tip on the new weapon skill as it’s unlocked from use? That way, as a new skill is unlocked, new players are shown what it does, and how to use it, but for vets we can simply ignor the popup hint and move on? I kinda like the idea of having all the weapon skills unlocked when I switch to a new weapon. Yeah I can take a second to look at the tool tips, maybe try it out on a mob or 2. When leveling an alt, even an unfamiliar profession, it’s nice to not be “forced” to use a certain weapon just to unlock the weapon skills. Heck even a hint about the weapon I am switching to would be cool. Something like: “You’ve equipped a Longbow, This is a ranged weapon that allows you to strike your foes from afar. But be careful, it’s not very good when you are too close…” or “You’ve equipped a hammer. This weapon allows you to smash your enemies and drive them back with a mighty blow. Usefull in large groups of enemies” or something like that.

Better chances of beeing acknowledged? No, better chance of beeing ignored.
Raging at least forces them to tell the community the things they want to hear from time to time… just to forget about it a week later.

In my experience postitive posts, even if critiquing, are generally acknowledged more over QQ whining rage posts. However, this is off topic. I would like to keep this thread available for feedback concerning the 9/9 Feature Pack, and not get it shut down by staying to widely off topic. Thanks.
