You can break 75k if you go all in. Got a screenshot of 71k health, you can get higher now, so ye 75k is probably the highest.

WHAT!?

Is that with full ascended sentinels, food, commander buffs etc?

I would like to see that set up

I generally just at least the 5 for the requirement, for the laurals and coins, anything beyond that is a bonus.

I run it and love. Yet it is circumstantial at best. In a pug dungeon run, almost always. But I will reconsider if I see an ele, then end up running it anyway, because I see they have a staff :P I often get more full signet warrior than I ever care to see, so will run it then. As far as a loss in DPS? I feel that the stacks of might make up for whatever DPS I may have lost when traiting for PS

@yams

Although you make a very good logical argument, it seems that you are using a very loose definition of “multiple” as in: having numerous aspects or functions.

I feel it would be best to err on the side of caution, and stick with a more strict definition of multiple (i.e. consisting of, including, or involving more than one)

Note we want to make the fixes and then have a focused discussion about the system (Probably here)

We really want to hear what you think once the system/content is functioning as designed.

What happened to the “plan” posted 5 days ago (here)?

Hi there,

As a follow-up to Colin’s post, we want you to know that we’re busy working on fixing bugs in the New Player Experience system. We’re also using this opportunity to make a few changes to its design to take into account the feedback we’ve been reading. We’re aiming to deploy the fixes early next week.

As Colin explained (make sure to read this post and that one if you haven’t!), this is a complex, “big picture” system that has a lot of components. We want it to benefit all players and improve your game experience overall.

We understand that this is an important topic for the community and appreciate that players have been talking about it. We’ve been triaging bug reports, developing fixes for them and discussing what design changes we will bring to you next week. We’ll continue to both work on the next updates and read the feedback from the community on this topic!

Thank you

Or was that simply a “calming ruse” . . . ?

well seeing as that was posted on Thursday, and today is Tuesday it is still “early next week”. Also I was under the impresssion that was what this thread was….

Good to see some communication on the NPE. I know alot of people are very upset about it, but some have given some great positive feedback as well.

I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to check out this thread. I know it’s gotten buried by the myriad of posts (mostly about the same thing) but this might help you guys get more of a feel as to how we feel.

GW2 players want to help you developers

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

And I think it should be a great idea to inspire players to help ArenaNet too.

I agree. There is much we can do in the way of “help” for Anet. And thats where positive feedback comes in. All too many don’t like something and will come on to the forums to complain. We know this, and understand this. But just complaining about something, and offering what is thought of as a “solution” doesn’t really help. You want to help? Point out the things done right/well. If we just highlight the parts we don’t like, it doesn’t give anyone any idea of what we do like, why we liked it, and a push to do more things like that. Sure you can try to fix what we think is wrong, but what we think is wrong, is not what everybody thinks is wrong. It’s far more benefical to draw attention to what works, and why, so in future development, they have a clearer picture of what went well, to build on the success rather then trying to rebuild something that was “flawed”.

An example of this would look something like:

NPE:
-The level up rewards, and pops ups, make it so I actually feel like I am gaining something as I level up.

-The compass makes it easier to find out where the next event/heart/poi is, so I don’t need to search the map, or rely on the mini map to locate events. I feel like I can more freely explore, and not feel like I am missing something.

-Leveling up quickly. With the change to the leveling system, I can quickly gain levels, while being shown what is happening as I level up. I don’t feel like I need to go kill 1000 grubs in order to level. I can do the hearts, the events, etc, in a more organic manner

-Skills unlocking at certain levels. If I was a beginner, brand new to GW2, this would be great. It gives time to learn what my weapons do, and how to use them. As a veteren it’s a little difficult to assimilate, being used to the old system for so long. Is there a way that this system could be optional for veterans? Or some other way to make it so veterens don’t feel like they are dumb.

Bad feedback:

NPE:
This system sucks!! I hate it!! Change it back or I’m going to quit!! I can’t believe Anet thinks I’m a noob!! I have over 6k hours, and 15 lvl 80 alts!! I don’t need to be told that I can’t use a skill that I already know how to use!! This is kitten! Fix it now or your game is going to die!!!!111

see the difference?

Yeah, I’m confused about the false advertising that you claim as well.

It seems you got exactly what you paid for.

Remember that troll back in the day who was selling the “Portable clothes dryer”. Advertised it could fit anywhere with minimal installation and effort. They were selling it for like $50. Turns out it was a length of rope and 2 nails. IIRC, they couldn’t be punished for false advertising, as he never showed pictures or gave a description.

You received exactly what you bought. No one ever claimed, nor implied, it had certain aethetics, or would give a certain type of vegetable/root/herb when harvested.

@OP

I like and support the idea of customizing the LFG for profession, level, gear, etc.
+1

@Everyone else turning this into a “play how I want” discussion…

The OP never said anything about not liking “zerkers, skips, stacking, etc”. Turning a simple suggestion into such a discussion shows that either the OP was ignored completely, or that you feel your style of play would be threatend in some way. Yes the OP can create their own LFG with their own requirements, but the problem is (and it’s a well documented fact ) that pugs don’t always read the LFG. So for all the zerker only speed runs, that many of you are fond of, such a system would actually benefit you. You would be able to restrict your own LFG to allow only those wearing beserker gear, have an AP of at least 15k, and be X profession. You wouldn’t have to worry about someone linking beserker gear, but not wearing it, only have 115 AP, and a bearbow ranger joining.

In short, this doesn’t restrict anyones style of play, and will actually help to enhance your chosen style of play, as you can filter out those who don’t read the LFG, and just randomly join a group hoping to be carried.

You’re wrong. The OP did strongly imply that using zerker/skipping was an illegitimate play style.

And it would also be awesome if in the filter you could also select level and professions, so that other professions players can’t join and such.

Silvia’s post wasn’t the OP. The OP deleted his OP because he was embarrassed.

Yes, OP can mean original post/poster depending on context

And yes, I caught that. In any case, I do agree with LFG filtering. It would greatly help those looking to play a certain way, regardless of what that is.

The spoons are another achievement. Talk to the collections NPC in LA, and get a spoon collection box. Spoon is added to the collection, and then you can sell it. Just like the junk collector.

BTW, I had lots of fun, hunting down all the junk items for the achievment. The bag you get as a reward wasn’t too bad either.

P.S. Don’t equip any MF boosters of any kind when going for this achievment. It took WAY too long to get some of the junk items, as mobs kept dropping blue/greens/and rares….

That said, I agree, while there are some aspects I don’t agree with/could have been done differently, overall I think that the updates/changes are not that bad in general, and serve their purpose of trying to draw in new players and introduce them to the fantastic world of Tryia.

I almost exlusively use dual wielding. Axe/axe for PvE/PvP/WvW. I love it!

While it may not be as “effective” as GS, I like it. A chance to build adrenaline quickly, get some fury, and that eviscerate. I run it with a bit more “tanky” armor set up (valk) and do alright with it. Although in dungeons, without an ele, I generally run a PS set up with GS.

Key Farming (exploit) Y/N?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: pdavis.8031

pdavis.8031

To echo what Gaile said in the aforementioned thread brought up by Healix, key farming is not considered an exploit.

You say its not an exploit, but you sure made it a much more time consuming process. I almost feel like this is the only reason you changed the story content, as there is no positives from limiting players from accessing content immediately upon starting the game… Its a real shame your going that route to trying to push people to pay for keys who were never going to buy them to begin with.

Yes because rewriting the whole leveling structure, moving the personal story to unlock at level 10, implementing a whole new system JUST to get rid of key farming is super efficient. If they wanted to remove key farming, all that they needed to do was remove keys as a reward.

Months of design, programming, testing, and tweaking to remove key farming? Not so much, more of a side effect than anything, as it was officially confirmed not to be an exploit, nor a form of cheating. As a key farmer, i was disappointed, yes. But not so much as to go all x-files on it.

best placw to farm now?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: pdavis.8031

pdavis.8031

For gold. Cs ive been getting 30-40gold / hour by opening heavy bags / champ bags and salvaging rares and selling t5/t6 mats and combining greens.

But lately all ive been getting are blue equipments for salvaging and very few moldy bags. Not sure if im having a badluck streak for 3 days already or they nerfed it.

And since the implementation of acct wide commander system, there are a lot of commanders in cs and all of them want different events so it drastically slowed down because the events are being on cooldown all at the same time. (Commanders in cs are jerks they all want people to follow them and not the other commanders instead of working together.)

Anyway are there any alternatives for farming gold? Fgs is pretty slow for me 20gold per hour.

You are doing your dungeon tours as well right? That will help bring in a decent amount of gold as well. You also might have hit diminishing returns, if you are farming in the same area continuously. Try to change it up every so often, and do some dungeons, some CS, some FGS, some world bosses, etc.

CDI- Guilds- Logistics and QOL

It might be nice to always have leaders and officers at the top as part of a revamped guild UI. But the function is there now at your discretion, just click the little arrow under Rank and it sorts by Rank instead of Name or Online, with top ranks at the top or bottom as you prefer by continued clicks. It’s like sorting the tables in any online chart.

True, but this is QoL suggestion. While you may be able to do that easily, having it just there, just makes it a bit easier. Just because it’s already there doesn’t mean there is no reason to change it. And seeing as this is a guild QoL and logistics CDI, this type of thing, I believe, fits right into that theme.

Oh, I agree! I think my tone didn’t come out right in text, sorry. I wasn’t saying you had a bad idea, just pointing out there was a current method to get the info as it wasn’t clear that was known.

In a sense builds are able to be purchased in the TP (at least the gear). But having traits able to be bought off the TP doesn’t make much sense. Thats what trainers are for. You can by all the traits from your professions trainer for skill points and gold, if you don’t want to do the events that unlock them.

Unless you are talking about say: someones WvW solo roaming elementalist build. But that would be just as silly, as it’s basically a set of gear, with a specific stat/utility allocation. Paying to allocate my stats/utilites is not a very good idea. I am glad they changed it from having to visit your trainer in order to do the same thing for free.

How do i go about asking for a refund

Pretty much.

It’s like going to the store and buying skis to go skiing. You use them and have a wonderful time. But then you move to the desert for an indefinite period of time. Would it be reasonable to demand, or recieve, a refund for the skiis? Not at all. Should you expect a refund for the skis, just because you can’t go skiing in the middle of the desert? Most certainly not, and expecting such a refund doesn’t reflect kindly on what type of person you (not you specificially, but the general you) really are.

But it isn’t like that, because it isn’t you making the choice.

What it is like, is buying an infinite ski-lift pass, knowing that the ski season is only occasional. Then the ski lift owner closes the lift after a month and leaves, giving no indication of ever coming back.

in Black Lion Trading Co

knee-jerk reaction much?

You’ll never get a refund for that.

Anet has never said that SAB would never be going back
And when you bought the coin, you knew that SAB would be, at the minimum, content that comes and goes.

So not only did you knowingly buy a product that would only be useful maybe once or twice a year, but Anet also did not state that it would never be coming back.

So your request for a refund is meritless and more than likely a passive-aggressive attempt at ‘protesting’

My guess would be a bug. There seems to be a lot of those going on. Unless they made crafting EXP have diminishing returns….

Proposal Overview
Changing the guild roster UI to better reflect guild leaders/officers.

Goal of Proposal
Currently, when viewing the guild roster, members/representers/officers/leaders are all scattered across the roster. Having a “call out” section that displays the guilds officers/leaders to be able to quickly identify those people allowing for quicker and easier means of communication for inter-guild issues/questions.

Proposal functionality
The top portion of the guild roster player slots being reserved for leaders and officers, in a seperate and distinct area. For example: When viewing the guild roster, instead of showing the players name first, and the other guild members (presumably according to their log in times), a dedicated section displaying the guild leaders and officers is displayed first on that list.

Associated risks
None.

Resistance to a elder dragon corruption?

I believe The Forgotten were also immune/resistant to dragon corruption. As far as various individuals though, from what I can tell it was only Almorra Soulkeeper, and how or why is still a mystery.

Very good feedback!

I like it, especially with the suggestions on how to improve these systems.

Would you mind reposting these is this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Feature-pack-9-9-feedback/page/8#post4401885

Having as much of the feedback, both positive and negative in one area, makes it much easiers for players, and devs, to find and read, and add to. Thanks!

wow do people actually take these threads seriously? OP is probably about 14 years old anyway.

A 14 year old with a 6 year old son? They were 8 when they became a parent? Not likely. The point of the thread, is that the OP is unhappy with the NPE changes, and many of us are as well.

No, my point is that the “son” is entirely fictitious, the OP is probably about 14 and has made this thread in an attempt to undermine/expose how patronising some of these new gameplay changes are.
How or what I feel about the update aside, this sort of behaviour is ridiculous and rather immature, and actually undermines the feedback of people based upon real experience.

Can you show where in the thread it specifally states this?

I don’t need to, it is obvious from both the style of writing the content within that the OP is most definitely not a parent.

Sorry man, life must be difficult when you are so gullible.

you make a lot of assumptions. Im pretty sure most people in the world become parents at some point. I dont think there is any specific writing styles or traits that you can apply to all parents with that in mind.

Well you know when you become a parent, you automatically know how to write, change a diaper, know when your child is actually hurt/sick and not just being fussy or a butt head. You also magically gain the knowledge of how to treat a diaper rash, how to potty train, and what food your child does and does not like. So yeah becoming a parent instantly turns you into an all knowing, all seeing demi god…..It’s kind of awesome really.

you can already do that. just click the rank and it’ll sort the guild roster by rank. right now it defaults to representing or not (so you know who you can talk to at first glance), but whenever i need to know if a certain leader is online, i can find out with a single click.

you can also sort by aplhabetical order, zone, or last online, and that’s all without leaving the front page.

I was not aware of that….I never really messed around with the guild roster that much, but noticed it was kind of chaotic, and didn’t make much sense. However, I still believe that such a change would definetly fall into QoL, and make things much easier then having to sort manually, or having it sort that way by default.

some questions about making my ascended armor

in Crafting

Posted by: pdavis.8031

I suppose it really depends on how fast you want it. For me, I mostly farmed everything for heavy ascended. However, I did buy much of the silk, as well as farmed for it. But generally farmed everything else. It took me about 3 months to do it this way. Gossamer thread can be bought from the crafting master, unless you mean gossamer scraps. As far as dark matter? Use dungeon tokens for exotic armor, and salvage with a black lion salvage kit. Also try to use those tokens for beserker stat duneon armor, as there is a chance at getting the insignia as well.

You have to be lvl 39 to equip rares now?

Rares can be gained for level 1. They are soulbound, and cannot be sold on the TP. So those you purchased the heroic edition should be able to recieve and wear the heroic armor from the very beginning.

I’d let a 6 year old play this. I was playing DOOM and Killter Instinct at 6ish.

you’d let a 6yo callously murder peaceful races for fun/profit? some parent.

How else am i to train him to ruthlessly rule the world with an iron fist of doom? Evil dictators don’t happen overnight you know.

There was a reddit link where people were discussing ways. But basically it required crafting cooking up to level 200, and running a few hearts. Reports had it at it around 20-25 minutes. However it cost about 1.5 gold at current TP prices. I assume you are looking for a viable post patch key run?
