In Game Housing…. sigh I miss SWG and the sandbox goodness it used to be.
I agree!!! Also, I would like the ability to build my house out of mithril ingots, bloodstone dust, blade shards and mystery tonics. Can I just throw all of those into the MF and get back a house blueprint that allows me to choose the style of house when I double click it? I’ll take a log cabin in Timberline Falls please.
In-zone housing could be dangerous… take putting a cabin in Queensdale: You wake up, grab coffee, step out onto the front porch to stretch and enjoy the fresh morning air… BLAM!!! stampeded by a massive zerg!
Lol! With the megaserver, open world housing wouldn’t work very well. Buildable land would be in short supply. They would more than likely have to create either instanced zones or new open world zones strictly for housing….which kind of feel like concentration camps now that I think about it.

My question is, if you hate sylvari and rangers, why not delete your level 1 sylvari ranger, create a character you wouldn’t hate and then use the ToK’s and Experience Scroll on that? Some logic is missing here….beyond the obvious.
People should go do the Frostgorge train instead…oh wait.
It’s still running strong. Didn’t take long to figure out the new order.
If only we could report the bad EotM commanders and have their tags permanently revoked. I would be in heaven.
Why don’t you become a commander yourself then ?
Or, even better, don’t follow them ?the thing is some people don’t like commanding or they know they suck at it
about that don’t follow them if there is only 1 commander in eotm where the big zerg always is even if the commander sucks what would you do ? free roam and get even less then to follow the bad commander ?now I’m confused. You created the topic based off of what seemed like a poor experience(s) with commanders. The option is mentioned multiple times to follow another commander. You then say people are forced to follow the only commander in EotM and its horrible when they are bad. Other arguments were made suggesting becoming a commander yourself (which would add another commander to EotM and if you can spot a bad commander, you should be able to do better yourself, correct?)
Which of the following is accurate:
1. You don’t want to be a commander because you don’t like it.
2. You don’t want to be a commander because you’re not good at it.
3. You’ve been a part of massive organized units that have taken down wurm or teq and you only want to spend 50G on a tag because you cannot afford 100G.
4. You want your 100G back because of 1 and/or 2Almost forgot possibility #5: You want 50G back because you already have a commander tag and just recently downed wurm or teq. Clever way to get a bonus 50G for an end game win. Kudos!
1 and 2 if you really want to know
and number 3 doesn’t make sense if i would have commander tag which i don’t i cannot afford 100G? 100 gold is made in 5 days i already have full ascended armor and crap but i just don’t want to command because well reason 1 and 2
and with that said i don’t think you play eotm very much?
have you even seen a bad commander tag down? have you even seen a succesfull zerg being split into two or more groups because too many commander tags ? people start asking to tag down in eotm but the bad commander wont even lisen let alone that they understand English. first play eotm and then start commenting bullkitten thank you
I wasn’t intentionally trying to bash you. I was trying to make sense of the request in the OP after reading some of your replies. Believe me, I have followed commanders that didn’t really know what was going on and I feel your pain (and pre-patch, your repair costs). I fall under categories 1 and 2 as well. I don’t like commanding, have never displayed the tag in anything other than champ trains and temple clears and I don’t think I would be a good commander in the ways they were designed to be used.
To answer your question since you answered mine, I haven’t played in EotM since it was in beta. I’ve seen horrible commanders and I’ve seen fantastic commanders. My thinking is the fantastic commanders started out as horrible commanders. If they want to show the tag and take the responsibility, perhaps they will learn from their mistakes. Limiting tags for new commanders to ones that meet the requirements you requested will leave out quite a few skilled players who just don’t care to run those events.
I bought one that I only use for 2 purposes:
1. I use it when running with the champ trains when no other commander has theirs up so people can see where the train is instead of having to ask in map chat. I don’t bark orders. I’m just a beacon.
.They still ask. Seriously.
Also thisthreadagain.
Very true but it does cut down on it

2. When doing temples in Arah, again, while no other commanders are showing their tag so people that just load into the map can see that a temple is being cleared so they can join in.
I don’t run teq or triple trouble and I would not show the tag if I did simply because I don’t know what to do at those events. Same for WvW. I let the commanders that are familiar with the scenario do what they do. If the commander clearly doesn’t know what’s going on, I don’t follow them.
Making me do something to receive the right to spend the gold I earned on a tag that I would never use at said thing is….well…..no. If you have a problem with certain commanders, bring it up to those commanders or block them in chat. Find another beacon to follow or become a beacon yourself.
Playing Guild Wars 2 is like using a going back to a blackberry after being on an Iphone with Guild Wars which is just as fun but less people playing it nowadays.
Pretty sure it’s the other way around where:
Guild Wars = Blackberry (or any other old smartphone)
Guild Wars 2 = iPhone (or any other new smartphone)
I hopped in Guild Wars not too long ago to see what bday mini’s I may have received and movement felt clunky compared to GW2. Just my opinion though. I miss locations in GW1 more than the gameplay and/or character movement.
The fgs train, in my opinion, got better. Fish, Norn and kodan got grouped up in 1 event in which you get a bonus chest for killing all 3 in the time limit. You still get the champ boxes for all 3 as well. The timer on the event seems to be just about right to run the rest of the train a second time before it pops. So the order that worked for a group of about 10 tonight was:
Triple threat (fish, Norn and kodan)
Wurm
Drake (and quaggan if up)
Troll
Wurm
Drake (and quaggan if up)
Troll
Triple threat
The focus should be on making sure to get a decent jump on the triple threat timer. The bonus chest is, well, a bonus. So if you run the 2 circuits and triple threat hasn’t started, hang out at fish and work on your inventory for a minute so you don’t lose a lot of your time on a third run.
Since all of them are now events, it seems to me that anet is trying to get higher level toons to spend more time in higher level areas by rewarding the FGS train.
I do not take responsibility if the timers are changed. Just wanted to give info on how it worked for a relatively small group tonight.
Finished crafting my second Infinite Light about a week before they released news of the wardrobe. It stings a bit thinking about how much it cost, but with the new system, any of my toons can now rock it for the mere price of a transmutation charge. Granted, the same can be said if I only crafted the first one, but it is what it is.
At some point down the road, the servers will get shut down and EVERYTHING people “worked” so hard for will disappear. It’s a game. Enjoy playing and take screenshots.
Sounds awesome!
In-game name: Psyckos or Duukk
Server: Fort Aspenwood
Mainly PvE, but mess around roaming in WvW sometimes
Playtime: weekday evenings and random times on the weekend. East Coast
Role: Scholar/Tester
Would anyone happen to know if you would receive all cultural armor skins if you have unlocked the Emperor title? I’m concerned that, after earning the title, you moved on from that characters appearance to different armor sets and did not keep the cultural skins. Would you have to purchase them again to unlock the skin on your account? It’s not an unrealistic scenario to have 1 character buy each full set and “upgrade” their appearance as they level and unlocked the ability to purchase the different tiers…losing the previous tiers skins in the process.
Taken from the wardrobe release article:
“If you currently have items that have been transmuted, you will unlock the appearance for both the first item used for stats and the last item used for appearance in your final transmuted item. This means that if you have only transmuted a given item once (for example, if you’ve used a single Transmutation Stone to combine the appearance of Dawn with the stats of another greatsword) you’ll unlock the skins for both items in that transmutation.”
So if you leave your armor as is until the 15th, you will be able to bind your T3 Cultural skins (only usable by Norn) AND your ascended armor skins. However, if you are attempting to move the actual ascended armor stats to your Charr, I do not believe that will work. I may be wrong, but the armor itself will not become account bound…only the skins of the armor.
I would back the idea if OP would have taken a screenshot of him helping with the Shatterer pre-event instead of standing at lowland waiting for others to complete it for him.
Ok that’s a lie. I don’t think I would back this even if he was doing the pre-events
I’m going to be completely honest. I have never paid attention to the amount of silver I was awarded for an event. I can understand anger if they’re cutting a successful explorable dungeon path from 1 gold to 50 silver, but I didn’t see anything like that. How much silver are you typically rewarded for killing the boar in Queensdale? If it’s less than or equivalent to selling a green armor drop from that event on the TP, I have no idea why this is even an issue other than something new to cry about on the forums instead of playing the game.
Speaking of, back to playing the game

The Trading Post of course! Next question
The weapon skins that require black lion claim tickets.
I’ve used 3 of them and have since bought 2 more character slots. The ones I’ve used were beneficial but the rest are just filling a bank slot
For a second there, I thought the OP was going to point out that those who level their toons doing nothing but dailies and the queensdale champ train don’t need to transmute their gear until they hit level 80 and that’s only if they plan on leaving queensdale when they make it that far.
If thats the plan, level 20 gear is more than adequate. Find the skins you like early and transmute them at that point. Don’t transmute again until you want to actually upgrade your stats and move out of the “house.” /shrug
I’m assuming that Scarlet will eventually ‘wake up’ either the forest dragon or deep sea dragon and that dragon will be progressed via the living story rather than a new personal story (expansion).
They’re both already awake, biding their time…unless of course Scarlet is one of the Champions of the forest dragon, which explains the toxic plants, her ability to terrify all others into submission, and the fact that the Nightmare Court are following her orders completely from the looks of it.
This!!!! I’ve been thinking she is the forest dragon champion for a while now which would mean 1 thing…..so many conditions to remove!
Just got mine for my thief yesterday and I love it!!!! Works surprisingly well with the T2 armor.

Good name, but ‘the Overbold’ musta been a self attainted title. Asura use em, but not many will take it seriously.
Mine? Refin. Or Golemancer Refin, if you would be so kind to be formal. An elder Asura with a cold as ice personality and friendliness of sandpaper, but that only balances out the fact he’s a brilliant mind in Golems and Chaos Energy Manipulation.
Long story behind him, but suffice to say, the story so far has been a mix of tragedy, comedy, and solid fun in story. Granted, he’s looking for a new Krewe … last one tossed him out due to being such a slave driver for results.
8/10
I have no real complaints about your name and love the story behind him.
Psyckos – Main Mesmer – obvious where the name came from
Thuunk – Warrior – self explanatory
Inphamus – Thief – May or may not be his real name ;-)
I, in no way, meant to take away from the suggestion with my laughter. I agree with you wholeheartedly. The offline status in GW1 was definitely better at hiding your status than it is in GW2.
LMAO!!!! That is so much better than a stalker! I would have felt bad if you really were getting stalked. Now I can just chuckle (sorry, but that is hilarious).
Please don’t take this as me poking fun of the suggestion…I am not. With that being said, do you have a stalker?
How much bandwidth would be required to translate ALL player text to the language you specify in Options? It would probably be a ton, but it would resolve the issue. Everyone would be able to understand everyone else…or at least get the basic meaning of what they’re saying. Oh the lag!!!
Which is exactly why I’d like to see players be able to loot both items necessary to play the RNG game instead of looting 1 piece and being forced to buy the other just to roll the dice.
Some more fun late night math…with the current conversion rate of gold to gems, here’s how it breaks down:
1 locked black lion chest on the trading post costs 5c. 125 gems for 1 key costs 8g 72s.
Could have sworn that already happens. Maybe I’m just tired
Edit: I understand what you’re saying now. Highlight them while the kit is active…not just when you mouse over them. I like the idea
May or may not have been suggested yet, but I believe a relatively easy change to how these are handled may at least smooth out the hate towards the chests/keys.
Make the keys a drop at the same rate as chests drop now. Keep dropping Locked chests. Do not soul/account bound the keys or locked chests so the keys can be sold on the trading post like the locked chests are now. When people are able to loot keys and chests, it will feel more rewarding than they do now. Having to buy the keys with gems seems like the act of opening chests is more of a reward for the gem store than the player.
Replace the keys on the black lion gem shop with Unlocked Black Lion Chests. Make all Unlocked Black Lion Chests account bound. Price them the same as the keys are priced now. That way, the people that want instant gratification can buy it and the players that are out killing can actually have some sense of accomplishment when receiving a key/chest as a drop. The insane surplus of the chests on the trading post should drop once people realize they can find the keys out in the world or buy them from other players. Some will receive far more keys than chests. Others, the opposite. A more balanced supply/demand ratio will be introduced.
If there’s flaws in this idea, please let me know. Currently though, the reliance on gems to unlock something you find by playing the game is a tough sale. Having weapon skins that are only available through this current system also leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. Could have just sold the weapon skins on the store. People don’t like spending real money for the remote chance to get a weapon skin.
I blame the forums. So many angry people on here while the quiet, happy bunch are still logged in and playing. I consider myself part of the happy bunch, but I can’t help but get bummed out when reading the forums
This is the first thread on these forums that has made me smile in a very long time. Thank you OP and Atlas
That was the last hint I needed for that achievement. When I realized what I missed, I took off all of my armor except for my back piece and ran around Orr. Didn’t take long and only had to repair the back piece.
Edit: There’s another achievement beyond the hints for breaking all of your gear? What the deuce?
Edit v2: I’m not losing my mind. It’s only the hint. Meow is dead on. You only need to break 1 piece of armor. Can’t remember if I received that hint when I rezzed or when I repaired. I’ve only let that 1 piece break on me. I’m too OCD to let armor stay damaged for long.

If farmers want easy champs to kill. There are 3 other beginner zones. Anet just needs to increase the number to 6 champs in three zones.
*Queensdale 6 champs
*Wayfarer Foothills 3 champs
*Caledon Forest 5 champs
*Plains of Ashford 6 champs
*adding Metrica Province 4 champs (3 if no one has key for Steam Orge)Some higher level zones are lacking in the number of champions. Anet should put 8 to 10 champs in those zones.
I agree completely. Wayfarer Foothills was my favorite beginner zone until the champ loot change. I still like taking in the scenery there, but the 3 champs are on long timers, shortest being wolfmaster which I haven’t timed.
The Queensdale train can make quite a few loops in the time it takes the 3 champs in Wayfarer to spawn once. I guess humans really are the most persecuted race in the game. Giant bugs, boars, trees, trolls and even other humans. And you can’t forget Shadow Behemoth….humans are even attacked by big shadows.
All of the areas in between starters and FGS/Orr are pretty quiet even on very high population servers. Not asking for a nerf to Queensdale or FGS. Just a little love or incentive for the rest of the map.
I don’t like how they feel when moving. They feel clumsy at best even though they appear to be part feline. Maybe they inherited their agility from cows/bulls. From an RP standpoint, a 500lb. stumbling bison with sharp teeth doesn’t seem very stealthy (Ash legion is a joke). Also, the most flammable race in the game (yes, more than sylvari) is in love with fire. I know they hate the flame legion, but they’re still the same race with pet fire elementals. Never understood how so many fire huggers still have all of their fur. Bald and burnt should be the default flame legion appearance.
Absolutely rage inducing when trying to complete a jumping puzzle as one (or with one blocking your view).
From an architectural standpoint, the Black Citadel is a wreck. To get from point A to point B, you have to go around point C, through point F, down to point D, up through point E and hang a right at point G. No mini-map ever created can guide you through that. I saved completing that city for last on every one of my toons. After 9 times, it’s about 2% less mind numbing than it was the first time.
All that said, I love how my male charr guardian looks. Took me 4 total makeover kits to get him the way he is, but I finally like him. Screens below.
In regards to the large amount of people that utterly hate the race due to playing guild wars 1, I shared your sentiment UNTIL I read Ghosts of Ascalon and Edge of Destiny. GoA dulled the charr hate and EoD made me hate the human race enough to overlook the searing as a “you deserve this” moment.
Spoiler Alert Save the extremely powerful mesmer Queen from dragon minions or kill the dragon? Great decision there Logan.

I agree that there needs to be some tweaking done (not even sure where to begin) to promote playing in areas that aren’t Frostgorge or Queensdale. I apologize, but that’s where my agreement ends. I’ve been playing solo since beta with the 1 exception of the Arah dungeon story mode to complete the actual story mode. There’s some areas (mainly in Arah) that are frustrating, but not impossible when roaming solo. I know it’s a bad idea to run into a swarm of 15 mobs by myself, so I use different tactics if I need to get to that particular place.
The only thing that makes me sad is the zones between the starter areas and 75-80 areas being ghost towns.
With that being said, unless I’m really bored, I don’t try to solo group events. If I succeed, the time I spent doing it could have yielded better results elsewhere.
No zergs necessary
Mounts are not to replace waypoints! They are for looking awesome. I would live to see horses introduced.
The only horses I remember seeing were centaurs and I wouldn’t want to ride one. The never-ending shout of “For the Tamini” would make me want to ride it off a cliff on a regular basis.
Save your sanity and ride a dolyak complete with saddle-bags for extra storage.
I’m joking. Get a broom. It’s the only “mount” I’ve seen and it makes my female sylvari necro smile in such a creepy way
there will be an initial skyrocket in price, but it will top off and then drop as supply/demand balances back out. no different from any other particular item that all of a sudden becomes more useful than it was the prior week.
If most people have all their alts above 20, what good would the scroll be? You have to look at it from the monetization perspective……to entice you into buying more toon slots from the Gem Store. In the end, it’s all about the $$$.
What good is that if someone has no desire to level another character?
And if I want to level my lvl 25 character only, how would restarting him to use the scroll help lol.
Not sure you got the point of my post. My point being, they are trying to entice us to buy more toon slots. Key word….“entice”.
Except if you have no desire ever to create a new character then that won’t entice you at all.
LOL, that’s exactly the purpose. To get you to do it where you otherwise might not.
Let’s say your friend wants to go to the movies and you don’t want to. Your friend might try to entice you by offering to buy you popcorn and a soda. Entice means to persuade with promises of something.
HAHA! I counter with why would I need a popcorn and a soda when I just paid for a very filling dinner? I understand the definition of entice and I’m saying, for those of us with characters of every profession that are already past level 20, this scroll cannot possibly entice us to skip the work we have already done! I believe the word you are looking for is “trick.”
In all honesty, I think the experience scrolls as-is are a bit confusing. In those first 20 levels, you get comfortable with your weapon sets, skills and traits as well as how mobility plays a big factor in survival. Why skip the first 20 levels? By the time you hit level 20, you get a little courageous, attempt to solo a level 25 veteran and his 5 lackeys, learn a valuable lesson on being outnumbered, repair your armor and develop a little modesty. Without that lesson, our community would suffer (reaching big time here).
On the flip side, once you hit 60, you just want to be done and get that nice ascended gear you’ve been drooling over for the last 15 levels.
I’m just curious, but why would a 1 year old character receive a scroll that is only beneficial until you hit level 20? I would consider myself a casual player, yet in a year, I have 5 level 80’s, a level 60 and 2 characters between levels 30 and 40. Personally, I feel like the scroll is the equivalent to receiving a new ball mouse for my gaming pc.
Wouldn’t a Tome of Knowledge work out better? It gives you 1 level worth of XP unless you’re a level 80 already. At that point, it rewards a skill point.
Throwing it out there hoping a change can be made. If not, I guess I’ll be waiting for 8 new playable races or professions before I can use these. /shrug
edit: In hindsight, I wouldn’t mind if the experience scrolls gave 20 levels to an obvious cap at 80.

Thought the super weapon skins matched the style of my mesmer, so here’s some updated screens:
Ahhhh….that makes sense. Same way lions arch doesn’t re-reward you for picking up the 2 newer POI’s. Good call.
