My blood fiend gets the crap kicked out of it rather a lot, and I can’t seem to find an option to heal it (and it doesn’t seem to have inate out-of-combat regen like everything else) Am I just stupid, or is there not a way to restore minion health?
don’t join a guild based on what someone on a stream says. Look around a bit, and join the guild that’s right for you You can join 5 guilds at a time, so there’s no need to cement yourself in to a single guild if you can’t find one you fit in to well
the “artificial barriers” are there to prevent people from completing content in one day when it takes content several months to be developed.
We don’t need a new stat, necro just need to be given a unique mechanic for conditions. for example give them far better access to torment, or a damage over time/condition unique only to necromancer
These events are practically impossible to completer without a large group of traited 80’s, and half the time they are bugged (looking at you, mortars), and serve as nothing but a giant kill zone for any at the map’s level.
Or at least make completing them more rewarding. I completed one once after a massive struggle with about 20 other lowbies, and all it gave was the same amount of exp as a normal event that takes 2 minutes does.
bugger, nothing like what I’m after :/
I have the shadow assassin outfit for use on my thief, and I was thinking to go for a full ninja theme. Is there a one handed sword that looks like a Katana/wakizakitten all? I know there’s a greatsword skin that looks like a dai-katana, but I’m after a one handed one
the crashes and disconnects have priority over game play … after all, if you can’t stay logged in, you can’t play with any minions anyway.
its a very serious game-breaking-bug … it needs to be a priority fix!
What crashes and disconnects? o.o
Been playing for almost 3 weeks now, never disconnected or crashed once, even in high population zones with lots of stuff happening
As someone who had every intention of playing AA (even bought arceum found pack) I will say that AA is already on the road to P2W. Free players have so much restriction placed on them, there’s no escape from PK, and it will very quickly devolve in to a subscriber-only game, unless you happen to enjoy getting obliterated non-stop unless you pay
There is a vast amount of end game content, but there’s no introduction to it.
After hitting 80 and completing your PS, there’s no introduction to fractals, dry top, the living story, WvW, PvP, ascended gear, legendaries, etc etc etc etc. I could go on and on
I would imagine they are good kiting tools and “oh kitten” buttons in pvp
Ragnarok. That is all.

Sanctified looks cool
Pity my finishers are bugged and keep reverting to flag pole impalement
Nope. EotM counts as WvW.
And doing five events qualfies you for a reward. If your server came in first, then you’re qualified for that reward.
Ah, so it’s collective server contribution, rather than my individual contribution. Good to know, thank you.
Probably a waste of claim tickets, but I couldn’t resist that mini dolyak
The only WvW I have done is EotM, except for a half hour try out in Eternal Battlegrounds, yet today I was able to redeem a first place WvW chest. Is this a bug?
how does one circumnavigate the 10 minute afk log out? o.O
GW1 and GW2 are very different beasts.
GW1 was essentially an RPG with multiplayer lobbies, whereas GW2 is a full scale MMO. with that MMO transition, there’s always going to be a loss in personalisation and character importance (I mean let’s face it, in the GW2 storyline, you’re not even the star, just a supporting character)
I’m going to propose a new gem store item. The Vindictive Player Bonus package.
The item upgrades your account to one that can punish the other players who annoy you. You can ding their accounts by
1) silencing them for specified periods of time
2) making them a true unlucky account. Remove all magic find they have and then put it into negative numbersSay something in map chat that I’m not in the mood for that day. SILENCED! 3 days.
Kill me in WvW. Oops. Bad move. You weren’t getting good drops in WvW anyway you say? How about zero drops? Will a week do? I can make it longer if you like.
Ping your Legendary/precursor in map chat. Silenced and bad drops.
Kick me from your pug group? Tsk tsk. Let me see what I can do for you in return. The Vindictive Player will have a smoking green aura around him and chat is a deep green color. This gives fair warning, unless he isn’t speaking or in sight and he dings you anyway. (Oh well, you probably deserved it).
I actually used to play a game where you could buy “scrolls of silence” for large sums of in game currency to silence people from the chat for 1/6/24/72 hours.
Was not actually abused all that much, surprisingly
I would make quaggans the only playable race and make all combat under water combat.
Quaggan loves you <3
The only weapons I see frequently summoned are ice bows. Are the other ones worth learning?
Dat ice bow 4 though
Thanks for the advice. I’ve tried them out in sPvP but it would take a lot of games to work out builds etc before i could tell.
I’ve played a few arenas and ran with my guild zerg in wvw a few times, nd I can’t say it’s been a bad experience. The damage output from my longbow in pvp is pretty insane, though I am in full “berserker” exotic items, so I’m geared towards a lot of damage
I feel the weakness is PvE is 90% attributed to various boss buffs negating a large portion of what necro is designed to do
With more PC games releasing on console, I think GW2 would do very good on console. Look at Diablo 3 or Destiny. Those two games are so kitten good on console. Diablo 3 on PC was pretty boring, played Diablo 2 on PC years ago, but Diablo 3 on playstation is so kitten good. I’m sure GW2 would do magnificent on console.
What is the “benefit” of playing a game on a console rather than on a PC? A different control device? You can use those with PCs too, just so ya know.
P.s. Destiny is a shooter, shooters suck without mouse.
A wider audience.
I’m a hardcore PC gamer, but there can be no denying the console gamer population is far larger
Releasing for console would effectively triple development time of any content and features. nopls
I’m relatively new myself, and I have tried all classes.
For me personally, thief and mesmer require way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much kittening about to play effectively and to stay alive with, but ranger is very simple to use, incredibly strong (for pve at least, not done any pvp yet), and has the added bonus if a high damage perma-pet on top.
Ranger is most definitely my favourite of the three you listed, the plays you can pull off through using your pet and the sheer damage output you can achieve through longbow and greatsword is fantastic, on top of the option of a perma 25% speed boost and very high boon up-time if you pick sword/warhorn as your melee option.
I genuinely can’t think of anything about the ranger class I dislike, other than perhaps it’s rather simple skillset for ranged weapons (but that’s what getting up close and personal is for!)
Ranger was my first 80 (got it there a few days ago), and I’m still loving the class
I got one free, and I have the deluxe upgrade, so have been getting them free with every new character o.o
So I bought the sactified finisher, but every time I select it, when I go to use my finisher, it still displays my rank flag, rather than my actual finisher. Any way I can fix it?
Coming from playing a Ranger and Necro, I enjoy the movement speed bonus from signet of Air. Am I sacrificing much dps IN PVE by giving up one of my utility slots for it
Just completed the human Personal Story, and I have to say, I was horribly underwhelmed by the finale. I was expecting a massive and epic boss battle with an army of Tyria united against Zaitan, instead, I get a 10 minute 1 spamming fest.
Kind of meh
You do know that poster run polls, on this forum are against the rules?
This thread will more than likely be blocked.
Having just read through the Forum Code of Conduct, Website Terms of Use, and Guild Wars 2 Code of Conduct, I see no where that suggests player-run polls are a violation of any rules. Might I ask for a link to this “no polls” policy?
Hello, fellow servants of Grenth.
After travelling many roads and many professions, I have begun my journey through the halls of death and now find myself seeking the knowledge of the seven.
I see many polarising views regarding PvE necromancer, especially with regard to condition damage vs power. I am seeking people’s opinions on the best overall weapon set for general PvE dungeoneering (I am currently using axe/dagger, because I love how fast axe 2 fills DS, but many in game stay staff is all you need), and whether or not minions are worth using (I see some necros with a full platoon following them, and others without a single one).
Many thanks in advance for any and all advice, but I might ask that people respect each other’s opinions, should they differ, and not turn this in to an argument thread
I played through the full personal story after the recent patch. There are several NPC’s that pop up that are apparently a part of the story that I should know about, but didn’t. I thought I was just being stupid, but I guess the PS is kitten ing, at least for humans.
I think every 5 levels is more reasonable than every 10, if they absolutely must gate them
I feel that weapon skills should be available fully by level 5, and the underwater/downed 2/3 skill gating should be removed. When you are downed, 90% of the time 2/3 are required to rally unless you have help. By locking out 2/3 from the downed state, it’s more likely to cause frustration in players when they are downed and find they can’t do anything about it
(edited by rapthorne.7345)
my low levels are still restricted on all these things.
However yay for the patch, because level 29 bug got fixed \o/
I think you guys will find that Jason is the best power ranger.
My account got hit with a game-breaking bug that’s been plaguing people for close to five months. Over the course of three weeks, every attempt to get the issue resolved was met with copy-and-pasted (word-for-word) reply. After six such messages over the course of three weeks, I decided it was time to move on. The lack of an earnest attempt to communicate, not the bug itself, was the deal-breaker. In my book, that’s not exactly what I’d consider “amazing” customer service. Quite the opposite, in fact.
The few tickets I have sent thus far have all been personalised responses dealing directly with my issue. I’ve not yet encountered the dreaded copypaste response, and the GW1 tickets I’ve sent in the past (of which there are a large number) have all been very swiftly dealt with. I’ve never yet had a ticket issue with ArenaNet where I wasn’t happy with the outcome.
Sorry for your experience though.
Beta doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s bugs in the system, it may simply mean that they have more features in development
But kitten , their customer service is amazing.
5 tomes of Knowledge, 2 crafting boosts, a kill streak boost and their sincere apologies for being affected by their level 29 bug.
Thanks GM Talon ?
Boo! Foo!
Simply a ncp dialog.
Well boo
But no actual title?
:( Is there an actual “Champion of Orr” title, or is it simply npc dialogue?
I’d like to see some of the better features of the lower level maps return (golem chess, karma items such as wolf potions, etc etc) In “simplifying” the lowbie maps, you’ve removed a lot of the fun and unique aspects of them
Macroing is heavily frowned upon in any and every PvP-focused MMO I know of, and is usually against the game’s Terms of Use/Server or EULA, however it’s very difficult to prove if someone’s macroing or not
(edited by rapthorne.7345)
You know this forum isn’t your personal blog, you don’t have to start a new thread for every story step you’ve completed.
Just sharing my opinion If you dislike my threads, you don’t have to read or reply to them.
Absolutely loved the contrast of soft music and the hectic nature of what’s happening in Source of Orr.
Just putting that out there.
Really looking forward to the conclusion of the story. MUST REACH 80 NOW
Check your audio settings, you can mute or change the volume of dialogues.
mm, I have, all stuff is fine and my previous cutscenes have all played as normal
I just completed “Defend fort trinity” and was awarded with a cutscene.
Unfortunately, this cutscene had no audio except the game’s ambient BGSFX. Is it not supposed to? All my game audio is working fine, so I was wondering if this was maybe a bug?
Okay, so I’m pretty solid against getting my face smashed in with weapons, it seems, but burning and poison totally kitten me up. Is there a stat I can focus on to try to reduce condition damage impact? Toughness doesn’t seem to do anything
awesome to know thank you
I should not have to be level 80 to run level 35/50 dungeons, plain and simple
But on the reverse side of that, “Play how I want” means I can play with only level 80s if I want to. You do have a right to run the dungeon, you do not have a right to every single party on the LFG.
Absolutely, and I completely agree However I do feel that lower levelled players should be empowered and enabled to do content that was meant for their level.
And while my opinion on LFG as it stands right now is negative, I’d rather discuss the concept in my original post – ie, whether it would be a cool idea to implement a mentoring system with in game rewards. Many games utilise these systems of mentoring/apprenticeship/etc
