this is welcome news. this will get me into pvp.
There’s only one sure way to find out! Hit that purchase button and let us know!
Moto = Creator of Mario, Link, etc…
This is going to be awesome.
no one is holding a gun to your head man.. its a game. get over it. you aren’t being paid to play.
yes, in a few years.
you can get a pc that runs this game for about 500 which is considered “low end” I run on all minimum settings and am having a great time.
btw if anyone wants to donate a video card, please do!
>_< how did they miss this?
with the trait that extends elite duration is it still possible to get 2 uses of this skill off?
anyone know if the quickness change did anything to Tome of Wrath skill 4?
Basic transmutation stones will get you up to level 79 stat-wise. This is not as limiting as it appears, since there are exotics under level 80. If you want max stats on your sweet looking stuff, you will have to get some fine transmutation stones. You can get these by:
Opening Black Lion Chests
Spending Gems
either way it’s tough. Just spending 10 bucks is the easiest way, and you’ll have extras for future use.
Yes, as long as you don’t count structured PvP stuff that’s free for everyone.
That’t quite a few ways, actually.
cultural armors are among the more affordable pieces in the game when compared across alike stats and exotic skins. There’t no money value attached to dungeon tokens, but I’m sure they are “worth” more than the cultural pieces.
to OP:
roll a thief. you will learn how to dodge quickly or die trying.. perhaps both.
guardians have a lot of blocks and high armor.
Hi, my name is roach and I’m bad at jump puzzles.
*pull up chair
it’s been 2 weeks since my last puzzle attempt, and I am recovering well. it’s tough!
all I saw was “More Dredge”
Nooooooooo!
Thief: learn how to dodge
Mesmer: learn how to juggle skills’ effects
Necromancer: learn how to juggle health bars
Guardian: learn how to block
Engineer: learn how to juggle skill sets
Elementalist: learn how to time and combo skills
Warrior: learn how to navigate a battlefield
At least in my experience. These overlap to an extent for each class.
as a Guardian I always pick these up. the ice bow is my only viable ranged weapon!
I would, but there is one major issue that needs to be addressed first.
When you go underwater, it remembers what skills you have equipped. They change automatically to what you left them as.
Your Traits do NOT.
This makes a large number of land builds totally broken underwater because some skills simply cannot be used.
If they allow different trait setups underwater I’d enjoy it more.
No, I wouldn’t have. I’ve only logged on a handful of times this month. Would not be worth it to me. No fee was the reason I picked up GW1 when I did. 8 years later and I’m still enjoying the experience.
not to my experience.
almost every time I’ve done fractals it’s been
dredge>lava>giant
or some combination of those. there are a couple fractals I haven’t even seen yet, and I have over 300 relics.
if you are leaving over that… can I have your stereo?
you…. +1’d your own post. had I not been paying attention I would have assumed it was someone else.
anyhow, yes, nice idea. more customization options at player creation are always welcome.
I like this idea, and cannot believe I missed it until you brought it up.
+1!
I really don’t see new professions coming at all, unless they introduce totally new mechanics for said profession and also add elements of them to all others.
The way the skill system is set up, it’s much easier to simply add new weapons.
But it would be my dream to play a Tengu Ritualist.
< been playing since first beta, and I don’t have exotic armor yet. I’m still enjoying the game.
Like anything else, taking in the journey slowly is more rewarding overall.
Elite Asura Necro Armor please. Will buy.
If you are really hurting for storage space:
1: Start your own guild
2: spend gold to purchase 2K influence
3: research your own guild vaults
4: enjoy inventory management
You, sir, are on the wrong forum!
Someone teach this user how to count to two!
1: a few forum requests and agreements from the same pool of users does not represent the majority of the player base.
2: this would severely effect your personal story.
3: if you have racial armors you wouldn’t be able to use them anymore.
You are given 5 free character slots for a reason.
I like the idea for certain story required elements.
However, think about anytime you see an NPC fight with you.. They don’t do very well, do they?
That would be your hero AI right there.
You’re better off on your own, honestly. It would quickly turn into Res-Wars.
In Guild Wars 1, whenever you get banned or suspended, Dhuum would appear and kill you. He’s basically a grim reaper, and I thought that was a brilliant way of telling someone that you’ve been judged.
But I like the prison idea, that would be great.
This also hilariously backfired during the October flux event when someone got banned in the Random Arena’s outpost.
While this sounds like a good idea, at the same time it sounds tedious. If I want to have my stun break on skill 9 all the time, I have to pre-program it that way. If I ever change my mind I have to set it all up again. If I am in a different situation and my stun break serves me better on skill 8 because I need something faster or more important on skill 9, then I have to reprogram my utility tiers.
Doing this for each character between any unique situation sounds more complicated than it needs to be.
What I would like, tho, is the pop-up menu for utility skill selection to stop re-arranging itself based on what else I have equipped. I feel this would lessen a lot of the confusion and allow for simpler change out of combat while still allowing for some organization.
Please bring back the Terminator themed time travel quests from GW1. These were very enjoyable. I really liked seeing my younger character in starter armor from the innards of a giant golem.
The major problem I see with a random lottery drop for one person is:
Not everyone reads updates, not everyone wants a legendary, and not everyone plays constantly. Chances are in fact good that some random, casual player who just enjoys the game will get the lucky monthly lottery drop and not know what to do with it. It could be merch’d and forever lost just because they didn’t know any better.
What we need is a reliably tough, challenging, long term way to do it without relying on random chance. This is a difficult problem to solve.
I’d like to see one new type of utility skill for each profession including 4 skills, and at least 1 more elite for each class. Bonus if it’s one you can also use underwater, or at least has an underwater version.
Of course, this will mess up the trait system as well, which needs some serious revamping in my opinion.
And Rutialists.
As far as gameplay, yes, balance is a concern, but as long as they add skills and traits slowly over time this should minimize the issues here.
I have asked for and still want a “kneel on the ground and curse the heavens” emote since day one. Right before I res anyone I would use this emote.
Every Time.
go with Vigil. they rock. just my opinion.
I think you can transmute order armor and weapons between characters… but you need a character in that order, fine transmutation stones, and an alike piece of course. I’m not entirely clear if this is possible.
If you want the Vigil armor, join the vigil. Easiest way.
how about a Mistfire Wolf Mini Pet instead? keep it simple?
This reminds me of the Giant Moas in a beta weekend finale. Was a great time.
This is a great idea. I’d also like to see a killer chicken.
for me it’s a “stop doing anything” indicator. Much in the same way many mesmers were in GW1, and that’s good. I like being scared of a class and using my wits to get myself out of it.
also it’s fun to ignore the condition and see how much more damage I can do before I die. sometimes I’m still alive by the end of it, and it’s thrilling.
It’s a well rounded condition IMO. It stacks nicely, mobs attack fast enough for it to hurt, and it scales well. Bleeding does more constant damage and burning is higher, but confusion punishes behavior, not presence. Only retaliation also does this. It’s more dynamic and really fits in well with the themes of the game.
A dynamic tournament cookout / alcohol event.
Anet. Drop everything you are doing and do this instead. I’ll send you money.
I wish there were a way to make a soul bound item account bound.
There is, but it won’t work with ascended, like the OP asked.
Allow me to rephrase:
I wish there were a vendor that, for a gold and or karma fee, would make any item I have “Account Bound” from “Soul Bound” only. This should also apply to Ascended tier.
I do not want to have to use other characters, and use transmutation stones in a complex, not-at-all-intended method of outfitting my characters with the stuff I want them to have.
I can plan ahead. What I cannot do is use a soulbound dungeon drop on my character with no interest of using it, nor get rid of it any other way but “merch” and even then, sometimes that doesn’t work.
….. seeing the problem here yet?
Bad comparison. You’re talking about fighting, i’m talking about being able to run away.
When i meet a warrior or guardian and i am better – i get the kill.
When i meet a necro, mesmer or ele and i am better – i get the kill.
When i meet a ranger or engi etc etc.
But:
When i meet a thief and i am better – he probably will use stealth and … i won’t get the kill.
Seeing the problem here?
Good point. Hmm..
Save an interrupt? Save a knockdown? Stun him somehow? In hardcore PvP areas I am never without a way to break stun, apply stun, and remove conditions. That’s what utilities are for. I’ve never had problems ultimately taking out a thief with the right build. They normally get one more shot at escape than other classes, but that’s about it. Use a gap closer or leave them alone.
An enemy running away from you is an enemy not hurting you. If this is just about round points, stop crying and fight something else.
It’s nice to see it like that. The Ranger profession mechanic is severely lacking, feels unresponsive, and certainly requires more planning for your pay off.
On the other hand:
Ele – Pets die in AoE, don’t last.
Engineer – Turrets cannot move
Guardian – Spirit weapons are squishy, die when used, do not last
Mesmer – all pets die on mob death instantly
Necro – minions stick around, and can be buffed, but are fairly squishy and have limited uses.
Thief – has no pets, save for the odd Trap or Eliete, very short duration
Warrior – no pets what so ever. Have to make multiple trips if you are using banners by yourself.
Ranger pets last forever and you can keep them healed with yourself.
While I agree their profession mechanic needs to be updated, there is some measure of balance among the classes here.
hmm… going to have to check this out. I’m thankful we can guest!
I hope we still have culling in cities. My processor can barely handle LA as it is.
Our guild’s first time taking on the boss of AC story mode. The Mesmer used Quickness. He lets us know just before hand over chat every time so we’re ready. We are in the habit of saving our huge bursts for Time Warp.
Quickness hits. We all burst. We all go down. We hear this over the chat:
“I uh…guess he had retaliation up.”
Here you go.
Fixed that thing we fixed latch patch
Cleaned up some tool tips
Still thinking about Ranger / Engineer / Necromancer balance
Nerfing Theives
Buffing Ele’s
Changing Loot Drops for Chest
Removing Culling….Maybe.
A secondary patches to patch the stuff we broke with the first patch
Subsequent patches to patch those patches
Flame and Frost updatesThere you go pretty much covered it for you.
It is sad because it’s funny and also kind of true.
I wish there were a way to make a soul bound item account bound.
Necro is good for Ranger Bow Combo Fields
Is it worth the extra money to use the higher tier salvaging kits on items used only for salvage? Or should I save the money, use a crude salvaging kit on them, and save the expensive kits for gear?
I use basic kits on everything except:
Rare or Exotic Items. These I use Master Kits
Items with Upgrades I 100% want to keep. These I use Black Lion Kits.
I like to salvage tho, and I don’t sell anything to the merchant unless it’s not worth it to sell on the TP. Unless it’s better than a green it never gets to this point.
