I think support should be higher on Guardian, in my experience. It just depends on the build, really..
how did you get this to happen and can you tell me how? I’ve been wanting this since beta!
Necromancers need their diseases back.
Virulent Disease – puts ten stacks of Virulent Disease on a target. Each second, it removes a stack, gives the target 1 second of Weakness and Posion, and gives everyone around the target the current number of stacks of Virulent Disease.
This is an awesome idea.
Final Rest. This is why a majority of the people are there. If you get thrown into Overflow in Queensdale, this is likely the reason why. Rare staff drop from the Shadow Behemoth chest, and it’s the only place you can get it, and it’s a unique skin.
If you trait into power / prec, you are going to do a lot of damage, but be easier to take down. As long as you know how to time dodges and use your professions defensive mechanics, you will be fine.
If you like to stay in one place and spam skills, plan for higher toughness / vitality.
the answer is of course, “because they haven’t made it for the game yet”
I hope they do. This was an excellent guild management tool for GW1, and it allowed everyone to manage at their own discretion.
that was the best part of beta, hands down.
while I agree with No Mounts for players in this game, none of you read his post at all.
this is a living, breathing fantasy world with many races across several nations. not one citizen across the entire world has ever ridden another. ever.
you don’t even see caravans riding yaks. I’ll admit it is a bit odd.
and what would you do with traits that effect the downed state in PvP then, hm?
I’d like to add to this
no shadows at night
unless its a full moon, then like, fewer shadows or something
Guild Leader Has Gone MIA.. No Current Solutions Available..

only 2 weeks? don’t mean to sound harsh, but, has anyone in the guild tried to contact the guild leader directly?
if you cannot get a hold of them, your choice would be to start a new guild of course. make more ranks, and have one lower rank be of high enough permission to take things over if something like that happens again in the future.
officers with enough permissions can start guild missions and so on too, can’t they?
Is it worth traiting into both of these?
The idea I have is here:
using flame thrower, grenade kit, and a stun break for utilities.
thinking pistol/shield for weapon set.
Yeah, it’s really one sided, but in groups or in dungeons I’ll be at range the entire time. Is toughness or vitality even needed if the damage is high enough?
I’ve been running this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgAQNAscBlwzipJVDtmExsAUFwOyMUtUr0Dcj3uQA
Glass cannon melee mesmers are incredibly viable in dungeons. I used to run a more phantasm focused build, but the changes to auto attack make the +%DMG traits much more worthwhile. Ran Arah P4 last weekend and the build performed incredibly.
which armor set / trinkets do you run with this build?
How do you feel surviving is with nothing into health or toughness? I assume you are riding the dodge button and have blink on almost constant stand by, right?
ya, I saw that one, but I’m really not a fan of staff, and most of those builds are PvP. This is for a PvE focus. I’d like to use focus to make use of reflections.
any more constructive criticism out there?
Hey all. New to Mesmer, and after seeing some in action I just had to try it out. I’ve leveled Guardian to 80 and Warrior to 60. My Mesmer just hit 30 and unlocked Time Warp (very exciting time) and holy kitten this is a fun class to play.
I really like the idea of dual swords and criticals. I’d like to know if the following build is even viable, and if anyone has some recommendations for alternatives.
For utilities I’m thinking of running with the damaging mantra and the stability mantra at least.
Also, which healing skill is the best with this kind of set up? I like the idea of the Mantra, but it seems to heal for so little..
the correct answer, of course, is: you can never have enough
but you don’t really need it that much if you know where the dodge button is and you can properly time your blocks.
with mace/focus, shelter, Aegis, Retreat, and Save Yourselves only, you can block 8 attacks in a row, entirely, one of these blocks attacks over time, and aegis can be reapplied as soon as it’s removed if it’s recharged.
you have options to avoid it altogether in smaller fights.
the problem with sword / shield on a guardian is the feel of the playstyle from the skills feels different from all their other skills.
sword / shield is great for spirit weapon builds, but I don’t think anyone else uses those anymore.. Autoattacking is fine, but thats just part of the skill set. Its much more “wait and react” kind of playing which is kind of strange for all other guardian weapon sets. (except hammer)
This is very very similar to what I’m doing.
IMO:
Drop empowering might in favor or converting conditions with your shouts. You won’t crit enough for the might to be noticeable, and with Staff skill 4 and a competent mesmer in your group, everyone will be maxed with might already anyhow, especially with reduced two-handed recharge.
I used to love shelter, but then I learned to embrace the healing signet. Its such a huge heal boost, and I almost never find a need to use my healing skill anyway.
I use Soldiers armor with Clerics trinkets and a weapon with Life stacks, so my healing power is sky-high. I’ve found that both Dwanya and Altruism runes work well with this kind of set up.
I like clerics but I haven’t found it really that needed. I use soldiers with clerics / saph trinkets instead, but I also trait 0/0/30/30/10 and boost the kitten out of my healing power. You lose a lot of damage but you really up survivability, especially if everyone else goes down you can still manage to save the day.
Ive been using Soldiers on my AH guardian for months. I can tell you the P/T/V is excellent, if you suffer damage a little. I run a bunker boon spammer and soldiers works really well. My build differs from yours, however. I usually run 0/0/30/30/10, so I would not benefit from Knights as much as you would with your added precision.
top OP. This is a solid build. You use the most out of spamming F1 on kill, and with the crits everyone will be might / vigor buffed quite a bit.
You really don’t need that much toughness in a build like this. As almost useless conditions are on a guardian, this makes good use of them.
white version.
somebody likes TA? didn’t think anyone ran that dungeon anymore
sometimes I like jumping in combat just to gloat to the AI. that’s usually right before I get knocked back like a kitten.
none. I want to see more weapons, utilities, and elites release for existing classes, as well as Orders specific skills akin to Racial only skills.
I don’t like the change on the fly idea.
but the drop down should appear upon successful creation. once. if you want another with different stats, transmute or make another.
It’s a trident not a staff.
lol, did you even read anything before you posted?
warrior’s rifle isn’t melee!
The only problem I see with this is, eventually you won’t be able to use them at all anymore. Most of them are account wide, not character wide. The longevity of this system simply won’t work.
they did fix this, sort of. the legendary has to be on the right side of the transmutation window, not the left, iirc.
Personally, I think they should just let you choose the stats upon successful creation.
I think the story so far is solid, if not sparse. There are no friendly NPCs or major villains appearing that know whats going on. Its a surprise attack on multiple fronts. How much do you expect to know about it?
I’m thankful they are taking their time with the events this time. While the Lost Shores events were more fleshed out, they were also more immediate. If I recall it was one or two days where people could help NPCs establish waypoints and such, then it was all over. Those of us that couldn’t make it on that particular weekend (myself included) missed out on all the action and story. What we were left with was a “late to the game” feeling.
The Flame and Frost updates are set at just the right trickle to allow everyone time to enjoy the content. When you release free updates constantly for millions of players, this is the way to go.
At least the Heralds are saying more than “go to this zone” after the latest patch.
I went with weaponsmith and armorsmith on my guardian. I liked making my own armor, but I also liked gathering. Weaponsmith never really took off for me. I didnt realize it at the time but I picked two of the most expensive crafts on my first character.
craft the stuff you know you are going to use, unless you just want the xp.
That’s kind of why I don’t advocate doing those two together… even though it makes sense for both Heavy Armor classes.
One thing that can curb the cost of leveling weaponsmith is to work on Hammers / Maces / Axes so you drain more wood and have less demand on your metal crafting mats…. Instead of discovering one of each type of Greatsword, discover one of each type of Mace…. you get the same crafting XP, but you use less expensive mats to do it.
I do something similar when going through armor crafting, discovering just hats, gloves and boots. very few mats needed in comparison to the other armor pieces.
the above method is very easy. also: use a lower level character and purchase white weapons from vendors (not armors) you can salvage these as well.
…I didn’t even know you could skip the button / gate section.. my guild has been doing it the normal way the whole time. sure, it’s a challenge, but it’s easily doable. just takes communication.
I hate that fractal anyway. running around backwards for 15 minutes is horrible.
they took WvW out of the Feb monthly and it was the first one I finished. They aren’t too steep by any means, but they also aren’t intended to be finished by new characters.
personally, I’d like to just be able to buy drinks for influence with karma as well as the option for gold. I don’t use karma much, and jewelry boxes are ok; but with the recent guild additions I’d like to see another avenue for dumping that karma that directly benefits my guild. This seems like a much simpler fix.
It was poorly executed. The amount of notice given for wiping a currency should be a lot more than inserting a paragraph into the patch notes.
What if the February 26 patch notes said “All dungeon token vendors will be removed late March, liquidate your tokens now”.
No further announcements are given, then March 26 patch comes and you find all your tokens useless.
.
Then there would be a post not unlike this one, full of people who didn’t read the patch notes.
not really, no. the first 20 go pretty fast, but they are supposed to. its usually a level an hour or so, which is great IMO. I hated other games where it would take me about 5 days per level, 10 hours a day. that was horrible. this is rewarding.
- you can now dye underwear. currently only brown and yellow color tones are functional. other colors will be in a future update.
-all jump puzzles now have increased camera-shake features, as well as character shake features. in fact, everything will now shake all the time. we feel the game is much more epic this way.
Congrats on your victory! looks like it was a nail biter at the end. Thanks for sharing the screenies of what my guild has to look forward to someday.
we do not have the influence to get that much that quickly, but we farm enough to purchase points. it’s all in a days work.
Do you remember when the game is started and the areas had a lot of player? I want it back!

I like the idea of “underflow”, but can we please call it something else? underflow sounds so… wrong.
type the following and your problems will be solved.
/m this champion is up half health chest coming lets take him down
never fails.
I am so doing this
not a ninja buff. they clearly stated improvements and changes for both undead and krait. this includes the risen scallywags in question.

Characterfillerspacelimitthing.
Thanks.
wow. that’s really ridiculous.
did anyone like…request this? how did this happen?

ah, my mistake! Ignore my post please!
You have a pistol in your off hand in your other set.
if you don’t have an off hand weapon on one set, and you do in the other, it will assume you want to use it there too.
wasn’t aware this was a problem. pets don’t get natural AR? wth? they should!
