anyway the raids don’t require 8 hours a day. our guild dedicate 2 hours 3 days a week to the raids. the raid don’t reset daily, so you have a full week to complete it.
really it’s not a matter of time. although it is a fair matter of skill, so i would suggest not to pug it.
there are a lots of video about those fights that you can watch in your spare time to see what your role can be.
and finally, as you described how you play, you really don’t need a legendary armor, actually, no one needs one to be fair. even though you should be able to switch stat with it, the way you play i don’t think you change build that often and you can always try new builds in exoticI don’t think it’s so much about time required, it’s more about commitment.
if a raid is scheduled at certain time, you better be there, else you won’t have a slot next time.

Without the above 3, I really love Skyhammer. The ability to jump around is cool. But if I fall off the edge because an engineer pulled me off the glass edge is when I hate skyhammer.

Anything that encourages solo players roaming.
I want to be able to help my server when no one is online. I don’t want to wait for my friends to go online so that we can roam around.
Preferably: Sentry points now gives ppt when held just like towers, keeps, camp, and castle. This way, 10 solo players can capture 10 sentry points faster than a 10 man zerg. But solo players can’t capture towers faster than a 10 man zerg.

I would read my comment, but to answer shortly of things I have already answered to in my post….
LFG only require best of the best and certain groups, it is hard to start a group on solo basis, the LFG does not give a timer of which will join. It is all around messy since LFG is a 5 man finder, not a 10 man etc. LFG requires you to either put profession/things you can use and wait for x amount of time (we all know that no matter your profession, you will wait for a loooooooooooong time, you will find out that no matter profession (trust me, got guard, ele and thief/temp/dragon hunter/DD) that you search up on.
The best of the best can already find groups because they are the best.

Raid Finder =/= LFG tool. In case the above poster didn’t know.
The current LFG tool doesn’t get me into groups before the LFG message expires. Raid finders allow me to play the game while the game looks for a group for me.
If it takes a long time to add LFG for raids, then they might as well just add raid finders.

The problem with the people who claim this is unneeded, a stupid idea, or simply say learn to play, is that such a mode would not affect you in the least. You would still have your precious hard mode. Remember, you don’t have to play the easy mode – just like you tell everyone who doesn’t like the current raid that they have other modes of play. So get off your elitist high tower. Players who go through the easier mode will learn to do the raid and may actually come out of it ready to do the harder mode.
I, for one, still haven’t been in a successful group. But I’ll probably keep trying.
Wrong, it would waste dev time and I would feal cheated if this “easy” mode gave any unique rewards.
I rather that you feel cheated, so that I can play raids. I paid for the game, I deserve the experience.

In general, I’m against it. Why? Because of what LFR (Looking For Raid) in WoW has become.
It gave people an option to basically netflix through all raids they wanted, with obviously nerfed rewards and everything was cool, but…
They didn’t see a point in raiding in “regular” mode whatsoever again, because they believed they’ve already seen and experienced the content, which besides textures being the same in LFR and Normal/Heroic/Mythic raiding is totally inadequate.LFR purged the excitement behind raiding, the urge to actually experience what game has to offer. Blizzard tried to re-ignite the spark with many changes to “regular” version of raids and make starting a raid as easy as possible, but it doesn’t matter all that much and problem persists.
Give open, cleared instances to people who want to experience the lore, but don’t make bosses easier.
I don’t see whats wrong with LFR. After experiencing, GW2 raids so far. I rather be able to raid instead of playing the wait to play game.

It already is for most “skill levels”. You just need to put in effort to learn the mechanics of the bosses.

The biggest challenge is finding a raid group. The second biggest challenge is finding a raid group that doesn’t fall apart easily.
I am starting to think raid is a becoming a mistake if the biggest challenge is not the boss itself.

I’m not sure what you mean. Again, it’s difficult to make progress right now in the HoT pve maps. They are intended for large groups and there are seldom large groups.
I suggest therefore that a HoT mastery reward track be made for PvP. Perhaps it would attract some of the pve crowd as a bonus.

This way, there will be less pvdoor and more skirmishes. There would be a use in capturing them and defending them.

1. PvP and PvE need to have separate skill/trait balancing. I don’t know why exactly you’ve gone back and forth on resorting to this, and while I’m sure on paper a game where skills always operate the same way sounds wonderful, the simple fact is that there is not enough flexibility with builds and skills to have them be balanced in raids, in fractals, in WvW, against world bosses and in PvP. 5v5 point contention, 20 v 20 zerg fights, 50 v 1 enormous boss, you just aren’t going to make that work. Let me give an example: the nerf to alacrity took mesmer almost completely out of the meta for PvP. This brings me to the next point.
Everyone always talk about this wanting this, but no one ever talks on how to do this.

All armor should provide the same defense.
Instead armor types should be geared towards a theme.
Old light armor could give increase condition damage by 1% per piece.
Old medium armor could improve precision.
Old heavy armor could improve vitality.Easy peasy.
The problem with this is that Heavy classes would be kicked out of groups so that it’ll be a medium + light armor party only. Vitality is a pretty useless stat for pve.
There are no “heavy classes” because all armor has the same defense rating. People would just take less or more defense but it isn’t tied to Class, just player choice.
To clearly explain a warrior can wear light armor, medium, or heavy. So can the elementalist. The armor doesn’t need removal or even overhaul, just make it accessible to all classes.
Then I rather get rid of your precision/condi damage/vitality suggestion for each armor types.
I want to wear what I want. I do not want armor types to determine my appearance. Keep the armor types cosmetic only.

If you go into the different class forums, you’ll find an inordinate amount of suggestions that tackle your question.
As for me, most of what I do is explore build diversity… I find it a ton of fun (and a worthwhile gold sink). So, I’m a person who’s mostly content with the way things are. People latching onto a ‘meta’ or a few select builds is a people problem… if it is a problem at all.

perhaps it might be easier if anet changed the pvp system so that naked characters behave as if they have full armor on.
Its not going to fix the problem.
Ranked and Unranked should block anyone that queue without amulet, runes, sigils, weapons, armor or any traits.
I seen a lot of people without one of these. Especially because returning players played before the amulet removal.

Hey,
Chill by it self does two things, slow you down by 66% and increase cooldowns by 66%, and to add a freaking 500 damage (700-800 with might) on top of that is just insane.
Now you have THREE things in one condition. and necro has PLENTY of chilling skills with long durations, don’t forget any chill combo the necro does also do damage.. and auras gained form eles do damage too.
It is dumbfire allover again!
Arenanet you have to choose what takeout form chill because it is too kitten broken.

A thief can do that.
The thief’s Daze/stuns can lock out almost all of engi’s toolbelt skills in addition to all weapon skills and some utility skills.

I’ve seen and personally had comeback wins from scenarios like this, while rare it does happen. A big issue however is a player who just decides to AFK because they don’t think it’s worth playing the match. Simply put that is nothing but poor sportsmanship and attitude, and currently ANET does nothing to punish this sort of behavior.
What we need before aggressive changes such as this, is a working report system for AFK players that ANET will actually punish said reported players through. There is zero moderation in game and it shows.
I personally see more afkers than comeback wins.

Ah yes, build diversity. You can thank sights such as Meta Battle for that. Anyone can just go there load up the new “Meta” and play. I’m willing to Bet 95% of all players have no idea how to make a build. They just copy and paste.
This was not true before HOT, I mean some classes were still forced to play a certain build at ESL level like ranger and mesmer.
The best 5 man AG group i was in was a conjure ele (not on meta battle) that could beat d/d 1 vs 1, my staff cele which was on meta but not at d/d level, a s/d thief when everyone was using d/p, a pu mesmer(which was meta) and a bunker ranger.
Before HOT there was alot different build comps that could be successful. The most disappointing thing about the Pro league finals was literally every team had the exact same comp and builds basically.
1 team had a mesmer and 1 had a ranger and literally everyone else had the exact same build. This was a chance for teams to be different after the patch but all 4 teams foudn the exact same comp to be the best comps. Meta Battle had nothing to do with that.
Rangers were in ESL before HoT? That’s news to me; they certainly weren’t in WTS. Anyways, things have pretty much always been like this: swarms of copy/paste builds. GW1 was certainly like that, no matter how badly I want to deny it (nostalgia can be powerful). I tend not to play the meta builds, but I certainly seem to be the exception.
