Actually an interesting suggestion for a tactic upgrade. It offers a high risk-reward strategy and gives roamers an option to not only passively hinder enemy progress but actively threaten it if they manage to get behind enemy lines.

Except, as a roamer. I don’t have the power to make it a tactic upgrade.

The people that do have guilds to lead.

Something for solo/small roamers to do that can help their server win:

  • Players first capture enemy camp.
  • Players then escort friendly dolyaks to enemy keep.
  • This way, the dolyak bombs the enemy supplies and reduce the progress that is upgrading the keep. the damage will be small so that zergs shouldn’t waste time escorting dolyaks one by one.

This way, camps become very important to strategy. It isn’t meant to be rewarding in the short term, but when the camp is held and escorted for a long time, it can weaken a keep/tower very much.

Diversity isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but in this case it would be completely immersion-breaking. With all of that fighting and running around, I can’t see any character being chubby.

I would simply just run away from a decisive fight because I don’t want to lose rank points. I would build around surviving and running away to get away from losing fights just so that I don’t get a penalty.

That is exactly the point. Thats how you stop mass suicides.

Nothing so drastic is even necessary.

If Anet would just let deaths reflect in stats and… Im loath to say… in score, this would sensitize casuals to the negative impact deaths in pvp have.

For every death -10 score.

Top stats: Death -> resulting in less rankpoints and a penalty on mmr adjustment after match if deaths > 5.

Terrible Idea.

PPP failbuilds yes; but when the thing crits for 8k AND surprise attacks from stealth or is damage immune for few seconds, almost any cele gets insta OWNED.

A ‘successful’ berserker build loses to a successful cele build every time.

Double Longbow Ranger with Quickdraw + Lead the wind.

You can have 7 seconds cooldown Barrage. Meaning, when your weapon swap cooldown is done your barrage cooldown is done.

Best amulet? I dont think so. PPP builds, for Pure Power Pwnage, were still using zerkers right?

And they often lose to Cele because they lack the survivability and the damage to take down a cele.

Retaliation doesn’t need to scale off of toughness. Use cleric, sentinel or soldier gear for it.

Anet needs to realize that them balancing the game and making matchmaking for the few on the top is more harmful than anything else.

The entire system would probably work well if it had 10 times more players than we have now. But we dont. Setting up teams as “fodder” for “pro” players and stacking players with high MMR vs others with lower MMR has got to be the most sadistic nonsensical idea with as little players as we have now as you can come up with.

Its going to make players leave SPvP and make it even worse than it was before.

Okay, lets say you’re right.

Where should the marketing budget go to? How about they make that taxi ad again.

This game has way too many stuns. One person can stunlock an enemy forever. If stuns gets nerfed across the board, then I would be okay with removing defensive procs.

Seems like 99% of issues could be solved with a gemstore PvP-only upgrade pack.

That way players could spend far less money upgrading the PvP side of the game to allow them to use HoT abilities, whilst only having access to the Core PvE content that these players likely don’t care about anyway.

It doesn’t solve anything. The game will still be pay2win.

Then buy the expansion to get access to expansion content like people do in every other MMO. Or you can just have Anet isolate non-expansion players so they can only play with other players who do not have the expansion. I think those are legacy servers. No more “unfairness”.

ANet can monetize PvP without relying on pay2win.

Its simple,

  • Separate game modes. Conquest only for Core players. Stronghold for expansion players. This would give ANet a reason to improve stronghold anyways.
  • More Finishers for expansion players.
  • More armor cosmetics for expansion players.
  • More reward tracks that players can grind for Finishers and armor cosmetics.
  • Put Elite specs behind reward tracks so that core players have to grind for them. If they buy Expansion, all elite specs will be open to them instantly.

I don’t understand how players think PvP can grow with pay2win advantages. If I was a core player and get trashed by Elite specs, I would probably quit PvP.

I would recomend that you ditch the staff for hammer. As a Ventari player I have always felt vexed by not being able to kite people around my stone. Yeah you lose the blind on reflect and cc/evasion from 5 but you get the ability to attack from safer positions and a knockdown.

I disagree completely on hammer. Staff provided a ton of vital skills I cannot ignore. The block, the heal, and the interrupts are all things I cannot afford to ignore just for ranged damage.

Plus, my damage is terrible. I shouldn’t be dpsing.

[PvP]Ventari Healer Bunker build

Couple things:

  • You don’t want any double-ups on swap sigils due to nature of Revenant’s weapon&Legend swapping,.
  • Enhanced Bulwark is a must. I liked toying with SBastion mainly for cool boon-extension value, but there’s a lot of CC in current GW2 you simply won’t be able to avoid, especially with no Shiro.
  • Rite of the Great Dwarf has recently scored a nerf/fix. Also, Jalis generally fails as PvP defensive Legend – besides good heal, there’s really nothing that can save you and you’re ultimately without reliable stunbreak. Glint works okay, but in my opinion Shiro remains as must-have Pvp tool (and gives you slight edge over Tempest/Druid – mobility).
  • Mender’s Amulet is a good option if the other team doesn’t have bunch of Thieves or more than 1 Revenant. It will also increase your damage a bit.

As always, I endorse any tries of making dedicated Ventari builds, it’s just my 2 cents from experience .

I agree with Shiro. But I don’t really agree with any other suggestions.

Seeing how Jalis is mostly useless. I find Shiro to improve my build a whole lot more.

[PvP]Ventari Healer Bunker build

The Build

This build is designed to be a healer and bunker.

How to play:

  • Use Ventari -> Heal players.
  • If attacked, heal yourself until you need to go to Jalis form. Then use Elite or healing. Jalis utilities skills are not worth using energy over. You can also use blocks from staff and shield to keep yourself alive.
  • Jalis elite + protection + 2x 10% damage reduction from traits = lots of damage reduction.
  • Superior Rune of Water heals for 1.4k. Ventari will heals for 1.3k. This will give a 2.7k heal from moving the tablet. Natural harmony heals for 2.7k while the energy fragment heals for 1.6k. Also, the tablet regens for 200 hp every 3 seconds. Thats a lot of healing for a very short cooldown for each skills.

Pros:

  • Tons of healing
  • Tons of damage reduction.
  • Group Condi removal spam.
  • Blocks for days.

Cons:

  • Can’t do any damage at all.

After many testing with Ventari, I find that this build is the best Ventari healer build.

That’s a weaker version of the few Ventari based build that were in use in PvP.

Any half decent condition user can kill you. Mace/shield warriors in particular.

You are also succeptible to stun locking.

One thing I agree is that half decent condi users can kill a ventari rev.

One thing I disagree is that warriors can kill Ventari rev. The sustain on Ventari is really good and warriors doesn’t do much dps, it just can outsustain enemy player. But Ventari can outsustain the warrior.

Give Energy Expulsion a stunbreak and lower the energy cost to 10. This way, Energy Expulsion becomes a panic skill. Then we can see Ventari being more viable. The sustain healing is there, but the stuns just makes it not viable.

Being a sustain healer, I am always low on energy. Besides, Energy Expulsion cost me half of my utilities so the low energy cost is justified.

Runeblade go back to page 1 and read my reasons againts having a tablet that follows you around…I am too lazy to go copy-paste right now. Also stun break on energy expulsion is a terrible ideea…the last thing you wanna do as Ventari is blow up the tablet while you still need it for heals or projectile defence. I would argue that the healing on EE needs to be buffed.

I didn’t make any points of having the tablet following the player around. Therefore, I won’t need to read it.

Energy expulsion gives tons of healing anyways and Tablet summoning is fast casting anyways. But, I agree it should be the last thing. It is a panic skill that is there when you need it to be used. As a last thing to use, with the low cost, you can switch to the other legend when you run out of energy for healing. It makes the Ventari legend much more fluid and feel more like a part of the build instead of the complete build.

I made some variation of Ventari build. I had some success. I could survive longer as a bunker against many builds. but the biggest counter to my ventari builds are tons of interrupt and stuns.

Electric Wyvern location: Was this necessary?

I did the event twice today and no wyvern. My gliding abilities aren’t quite the best so I missed the mark when gliding over plenty of times. I did finally make it though, in both events, but the wyvern wasn’t there. So I’m assuming someone beat me to it. The question I have is this: is there only one per event? If so, that kinda sucks to be honest. I’m sure I’m not the only one that spent several hours to miss out on the pet just because someone got there first. After the second event, I waited about ten minutes hoping for a respawn but nope, nothing.

They changed the location as per April 19th patch.

Well, at least you understand that it is pay2win.

I thought my sarcasm was obvious; I apologize. It’s not pay to win; it’s pay to get elite specs in HoT on top of the core specs I purchased when I bought GW2. Winning is determined by skill (both individually and corporately) but it didn’t come included with my purchase of HoT. It’s something I have to earn. I have stated it before, Anet designed it to be core and elite, therefore it’s not mean’t to be balanced but that in no way means you cannot be competitive or enjoy what you already have.

So, if ANet sold a power boost which gives an advantage in PvP, it wouldn’t be pay to win to you.

Having a 5k burst heal whenever you are about to die, is by far not useless. And it does not make adrenal health useless. Saying that is like saying that Having a trait that auto death shrouds when you are about to die makes minion heals pointless. They are completely separate abilities.

No, Adrenal Health makes Dead or Alive pointless.

Here, just do some playing and when you die try and remember if you are in Berserk Mode or not. My experience the last couple days is that I am simply not dying in zerk because i’m keeping the hots up.

So, if i’m not dying in zerk mode because of Adrenal Health, then what’s the point of Dead or Alive? THAT is my point.

If I activate Berserk mode before a big burst. Then I would get a big heal + more sustain heals.

What they should do is just enable HoT builds in sPVP for all accounts. Problem solved.

Since sPVP is their eSport mode, they should be doing this anyway.

The rest of the game is fine with HoT enabled accounts vs ones that are not.

Creates another problem, needing the revenue from PvP portion of game since there are PvP only players.

Solution: Finishers and all other cosmetics.

No need to justify pay 2 win.

The match making system is clearly inferior to Season 1. Mixing MMR + division pip range was an epic mistake and I am still waiting for an apology from Arenanet. The current system leads to countless of pointless matches of either huge losses (and no chances of winning) and huge wins (and no chances of losing) as the “better” players are placed in team A and “worse” players in team B.

One guy did a math simulation to prove the MMR hell is true. See:

It is also obvious that the removal of amulets of was just a lazy band aid “fix”, which didn’t fix the core issue of the power creep since trait rework and most importantly the overpowered elite specs. Now we have more burst and less bunkers, but amount of builds seen is not significantly better or worse.

Okay, lets say that is true. How are you going to fix afkers trying to lower their MMR?

I am extremely happy with this news.

I will never ever get a legendary weapon. I feel that the amount of time and effort on them is a big waste and should be allocated somewhere else.
