i main a mesmer and then got so frustrated with being a veilbot in wvw, that i switched to power necro. for roaming i agree with u, mes are incredible, but in a zerg, we lack lots of aoe as our phantasms are either buggy or die in 3 hits. warriors though still rule wvw with masssive cc spam and immobilize stacking.
i really hope though that both mes and necro will get some wvw love though…

just made my first necro 2 weeks ago and love it :-).

it happens on my mes and necro and i think has nothing to do with blink. it happens in deathshroud #2 aswell if i pull myself to a target to freez him/her, ill become stuck, but sometimes i get randomly stuck in the middle of a zerg fight unable to move. some abilities just get me stuck and i am checking for immobilized and all that. im just frosen and cant even dodge.

same in wvw. my character would simply stop moving at all and there is no immobilize or root or anything on me. sometimes i get pushed in a corner and i cant even see anything and dodging isnt working, blink or any stun breakers. i dont know what triggers this bug, but its very annoying

Lately I’ve been trying out confusion builds for mesmer and i came to the realization that confusion doesn’t do as much damage as it should.

Once upon a time, in the land of common sense… fast-attacking, bursty professions (or playstyles) had hard counters called retaliation and confusion. Sadly, many thieves and warriors (and even a few rangers) invaded the land of common sense and cried loudly for the ability to win more easily against such counters, arguing that they should be allowed to deal 10-20,000 damage without impunity or risk… and they won.

Confusion and retaliation have both been severely nerfed.

Hopefully, Guild Wars 2 will not need its “n00b tube” professions/play styles forever and things will return to balance… all styles should have a counter-style.

well, confusion was the ultimate punishing skill. it stopped mindless button spammers cold. yes it was strong, but also hard to stack and if u pressured a glam mesmer a little after they are all on cooldowns, the glam mesmer was done for. after this massive nerf, anet has left the mes without viable aoe. yes we got phantasms left, but our role as punishing light armor class has been taken away. in wvw we are still veil, tw, feedback bots and thats it. if u wanna deal dmg and survive in a zerg, mes sure is not what u are looking for atm.
however, we still destroy people in 1v1’s. i dont mind being a good duelist, but for a light armor class, thats not enough. i would love to see more punishing skills that are not ai based. yes button spammers will be crying a lot again, but i think its a good thing if a player has to slow down his game play and be more careful.
as a light armor u need something to keep the heavy pressure off your back. i made a necro a week ago and gotta say. its easy to put pressure on heavies while having survivability. now mes needs something that makes up for being squshy too. only phantasms and shatters isnt the answer. also mantras in wvw would still require to get close to an enemy to work. we need ranged pressure that punishes like the gw1 mes did.

eles can switch between attunments and therefore will allways have something to use that isnt on cooldown. if u gave an ele a weapon swap, they would become incredibly op.

I’m almost certain that using ACs to hit stuff behind a gate isnt cheating, but they HAVE been known to use any less than respectable trick they can whenever possible. AKA invuln spot siege, camping in invuln spots off the cliffs. I dont usually actually dislike any enemy in this game, but some of FA have shown themselves to be both poor losers AND winners.

aaaand because we have a couple of stupid forum trolls, u put the whole server in one little box? ok yeah there are trolls that shoulder pad or whine in the forums…BUT tell me 1 server that doesnt have a forum troll like this!

yes im sure there is a few people on our server that use the arrow cart thing, but every server i have faced has a few people that do that. i have chased people to invul spots from both of your servers. my ac’s have been taken down with acs and dragontooth where it shouldn’t have been reached by both of your servers. so yeah u have the exact same trolls as we have and the exact same foul tactics users as we have.

so hating a server, because of forums trolls and a few unpleasant experiences in game, even though both of your servers do the exact same thing,is stupid!

i have met amazing fighters and great guilds from both of your servers and i had a ton of fun fighting both of u. i dont care if there is a few black sheep that troll a and use some foul tactics as i know that both of u fight hard and are great servers. our server is not very different from yours. we have people that love to roam, we have zerglings, we have coordinated guilds, we have fairweathers, we have trolls, we have people that scout, we have people that rp, and we have hillarious people same as u. and yes also people that get frustrated, jealous, angry,stupid, arrogant and drunk!

yeah anet u did go wayy too far. now it feels like t3 with tc/fa matchups for the next 20 weeks all over again. the variety was way more fun. the only thing that was terrible was the leagues as servers like nsp had to fight fa orsbi which we all told u would happen and be a terrible blowout matchup.
now u over react and put us back to the good old boring same matchups for week after week after week.
i think i will just play eotm if this new matchup system stays like this!

its even worse in wvw. it either targets an engi turret or even a critter. i was attacking thief, hea stealthed, i lost target, when he reappeared he was right in fron of me and my sgs hit the chicken that was way further away. since this patch i’ve noticed that the teargeting prioritizes critters, turrets, minions and non hostile creatures before anything. very annoying! it is supposed to be the other way around like it was stated a few patches ago.

I’m in this story right now with it minimized. I got the trebuchet working, was turning it and holding down the button to fire, and have been firing at the ship for the last 7 mins at least. I still can’t hit it. After reading the comments, i’m going to swim out and destroy it that way. So I guess its still not fixed.

?!?!?!wat? stability from mesmers?!?! u know that we only have 1 mantra and that stability lasts 2s? reflects? against warrior trains? what is there to reflect? we have terrible access to stability while no viable aoe in zergs. nowadays u can barely get a mesmer to portal golems because of the terrible meta.

Yeah I play an elementalist, I know the meaning of super squish & how imporant it is to use AoE(armor of earth) which is about 6s- I tend to run around the zerg though lol

yep kiting is pretty much the only thing u can do, but most of the times theyll get u even there. lots of those trains focus caster right away…yay i love haveing such great swiftness on my mes!!!..wait.

in a zerg?lol try your cleansers vs a 30+ hammertrain. yeah sure i use them all the time, but they have longer cd than the immobilizes stackes. in zerg the cc like this is so intense atm, that i would need 20 cleaners or a passive condi remover in order to deal with the spamming on my mes.

Imobilisation is fine. There needs to be something to stop people from constantly running away and imobilise does that job. Zerg vs zerg it is no problem most of the time it gets removed by allies and barely anyone uses it in zerg fights anyway. Also most classes have some way to counter it in a zerg fight. I assume the people complaining are upset abouy being slaughtered as they try to run away during or after a fight they are losing or while roaming. Runners are irritating enough as it is and there should be ways to stop then such as imobilise.

it actually has nothing to do with the running away. i never run from a fight. but un my mes its annoying if i cant dodge, cant do anything but stand in the middle of a zerg and melting to 0 in seconds. immobilize is very annoy as it prevents u from actual fighting. yes of course i bring 2 stunbraker, yes i have a condi cleanser…and then its used up on a long cd. boom immobilized again. i cant kite i cand dodge i just stand there.0 chance.then i cant even block, due to chain interrupts. it goes like this.

immobilizing needs dr or something, so u are immune to cc after being cc’ed hard. every game has this. immobilize should never stack ever!also when interrupted u should be immune for a few seconds so u get the chance to react. having your skills on constant cd and u cant even block is really annoying too.

I wouldn’t consider any build that isn’t able to do, at least, continuosly +1000 numbers/player.

The glamours are for support, the weapon skills do strong cond dmg. Chaos storm hits for up to 5k per pulse, per player. Plus whatever burning, confusion, torment, and random conditions from CS or chaos armor. That does not include the damage from feedback which has insane potential in a zerg fight.

I actually found myself in a 1v2 against a necro and a thief yesterday and fared surprisingly well. I got the necro down twice but the thief rezzed in SR and unfortunately my CS was on CD, but my condis got up to 600-700 per tick damage. With weapon stacks on and some might this build is easily over 2k condi damage.

i think u got your numbers wrong. 5k?never ever ever ever ever ever ever and ever again with dire! i wear a full dire set…not gonna happen!also where exactly is your condi dmg going? u got glam traits, but the glam fields u are have are not inflicting confusion as u have 0 in domination/confusing enchantments. yeah u got torch that gives burning…and chaos storm. u get around 1k power o.0…and without food u are running on 1300 condi dmg…..

see for your self and your support is also lacking a lot. if u wanted to support u might wanna check in with chaos.
feedback is only good vs projectiles if untraited. relying on chaos storm(RNG) and chaos armor( has been nerfed to the ground,also rng)for your condis is pretty bad. if a thief is squishy one scepter block will do the trick and he will die on torment. u get 5 stacks….i get with my glam hybrid 8 stacks,plus around 5-8 stacks confusion,plus what ever condi rolls my way with chaos armor with my rabid /torment gear.

I don’t see why a mesmer would be running a condi build in large scale play. If your goal is to wade in the middle and proc burning on the frontline then you’re just going to get the condi ignored, shout-healed, or purging flamed off in under a second.

Glamour mes also died the day the confusion nerf hit. Any guild that still tries to run variants of it (like AVTR), can basically be ignored and rolled over on the battlefield.

You don’t have blink, you don’t have IP for on-demand invuln, you don’t have a stunbreak, all you have is this one util with a block that you plan to use offensively instead of defensively. Your build basically looks like rally bait against any coordinated zerg.

i run a hybrid build and it works quiet well. and yes i use blink! and tormenting runes and tormenting sigil atm and getting some nice numbers…..yes the classic glam is ok for tagging but it doesnt kill.anet has to take their focus off the heavy classes for a while and actively put work into condi mes and mes aoe imho.

As a female, it does bother me. Not enough to ask/want it removed, but enough so that I want…

1.) More choices for female human medium armor. You get one extreme or the other. There’s SO little in between that it barely exists.

2.)Important! Skimpy men armor. If guys get a piece of digital girl candy to stare at, why can’t girls get ours as well?

im a girl and it doesn not bother me. i have my female characters all wearing skimpy armor, but i would like to have more choices. medium armor needs less coats, more nice tops and pants, both skimpy and elegant.
light armor needs more choices aswell. i liked the phoenix top,mantle, boots and gloves, but didnt like the skirt as much.love the masquerade, but everything clips in it. would love some pants for light armor, would love some more choices of skirts and some elegant dress choices too.
but i agree with u on the male armor. it is always covering and id like to see more skimpy dress choices for males aswell ;-)

the way we got people into our ts was through advertising it and also making it fun. we got a lot of fun events like drinking nights so more and more people joined. but our ts has many channels aswell, not just 1 so guilds get their privacy and roamers or havoc squads dont need to be in a channel with the blob.

say requiring a certain WvW rank, and specific conditions to make a wvw trainer appear. then you can buy it from them for skillpoints
Say trainer appears in dif locations depending on whats going on in WvW.

Id make two types of occurences trigger them
personal goals.
like kill X without being killed,
Defend X times without leaving map
etc
server goals.
own stonemist
own 3 keeps in a BL
own all towers on a map
win 2 weeks in a row

etc.

I think WvW also needs goals, yall should be able to fight to achieve things you want as well.

but then again. look at it this way. someone new to gw2 will go into wvw where everyone is using skills they’ve got ages ago and he cant keep up with the meta. that would be pretty bad for wvw and also lower ranked servers that might not all are rank 400+ like a lot of wvw ers in the higher tiers will get no access to the skills. same with roamers that dont go cap keeps.
its just really hard to implement. we already have to farm to get ascended which is terrible but ascended is needed in wvw.

There are 2 things that can happen here..

A) The players can stick to their own time zones. You live in North America, you play in North America. You live in Europe, play in Europe. You play in another country, you play on the server closest to you time zone. If the players don’t do it, Anet can simply move players back to their respective time zones.

B) Turn off the PPT at night. Despite what you may think that your time is not as valuable if you don’t have PPT; the single most important thing you can do during SEA times is prevent your stuff from being taken over. Im sure the players who come to replace you in the morning, as well as, the rest of the server will thank you. If you wan’t your time to be more valuable during PPT times, play on a time zone where PPT is active.

It’s like some people need some hand holding.. oh no.. the PPT is not active.. im not as valuable. Simple solution, move to another server, done. If your schedule keeps you awake during the night, move to overseas server, done.

and this is exactly ridiculous! my whole guild is australian but i live in the us. so i could never play with them because of qq? just no! these 2 solutions are beyond unfair for me either way. 1 will separate me from my guild and 2 would prevent me from playing the game during my time after work. i work till 2am so no na prime for me!
your solutions are selfish and only convinient for you, but u forget that other people play different times and with different people form different countries!

and your solution to move servers is terrible too. i started on my server and love my community and only because u get night capped u wanna take that away from others?
u make it sound like we are night capping on purpose. wvw is a 24/7 game mode. u dont like it, how about u move servers then?instead of trying to force everyone else. if this was implemented i would quit the game as i only play wvw and i like playing with my guild and be able to get ppt while doing so.

It seems a lot of you people are defending the season rewards because “we expected it to be bad”. To expect something to be bad is no reasons to defend bad decisions. It would have taken them less than a day of work to implement a unique backpack skin, or something, and that would have made me happy.

I personally I am defending the rewards, they suck and ould have been achieved with 5 minutes of PvE. What I have been defending is the fact that no one seems to learn, when was the last time you received a decent reward from WvW ? oh man another one of these threads!look there are no oceanic serers and it is an international game. so yeah i work during the day and sometimes till 2am in the worning. only on sundays id be able to play with my na friends. so if they changed it i could never play again unless i deleted all my characters to go to a eu server or pay gems. also i do not wish to play on a eu server as i like the community which im in. if anet would enforce something that would affect my play time like i cannot get ppt or anything because i play off time, id simply quit the game.

The biggest problem I have this armor is that it simply doesn’t live up to the quality I expect of a game. It’s not a stylistic choise, it simply is too far of what I expect a game should present to you. I can not support designers who willingly make you look like you’re working on a street corner.

A simple alteration to the armor would still leave it skimpy, but it’d remove the impure aspect of the armor.

Not buying it doesn’t solve the problem. This is not about me personally buying it.

The level of immaturity that is explicitely adhesive to the design of a showing underboob is one I do not wish to have in a high-standard game.

the human t3 skin is revealing, but some people like it that way. a lot of us actually do. now of course it would be nice having a few other choices but im sure new cultural armor is in planning.

i mean i could have spent the entire season in spvp and gotten prettier and permanent finishers. i could have run every dungeon each path instead of wvw and made a lot of gold. i could have run fractal and get way more out of it, but no we all competed and worked very hard.

i wouldnt even think about giving the lowest server that lost every game such an awful reward. we all worked hard and yes there are servers that won and should get something special for that, but what they gave us is an insult.

actually my server won silver league and i ended up with 3 rares and 1 exotic. the finishers say permanent, but they arent. they have 250 charges and thats the part that is weird. i get around 3 rares every night while playing, i get 1 exotic every 2 weeks or so, but this meta is not jut like any other pve meta. it went on for 6 weeks and the rewards dont show that. also winning did not really make a difference as the finishers are not permanent.
players like to show off what they’ve achieved but with temporary finishers anet takes the whole point of even having a competition away. in any other game that i joined not since launch, i’d run into people with special skin they’ve earned through certain events and i think it is good if people that worked hard for 7 weeks will get something unique.
people like unique stuff, but this chest is beyond laughable!

yeah i would be happy with a skin that u can only get through this achievement and that shows that u were 1st, 2nd or 3rd as well and a skin for all the other servers. something a new player cannot get, because it is unique. people like showing off achievements. so each season should reward something unique.

no please dont force me to do pve events so i can get my skill for wvw! or make the skill at least unlockable through wvw and spvp aswell.

I expected it to be bad, but I DID expect to have a golden dolyak finisher until next season, as was stated. But instead it’s 250 stack.

yeah the joke is that it even says PERMANENT dolyak finisher. then u double click and it turns out to be 250.
plus the rest is terrible loot. not even a few gold or laurels or badges or gems or anything….even unidentified dyes or anything useful!

It took months to progress fractal levels to 50. More for some, more for those who went beyond.
Progress wiped in update along with destroying the previous rewards which on a whole were better than current rewards.

what loot? lot is terrible in wvw and u spend way more on upgrades and siege that un make with the crappy loot.

7 weeks of hard work for every server and all wwe get is this lousy chest. 2 dungeon runs are way more rewarding than this!

i think the people that think the rewards are fair are people from losing servers that are glad that the winners didnt get anything good. well i think that even the losing servers deserve way way way better than what we got now. i think al;so losing servers should get some sort of perma finisher.
pve events that last for 2 weeks reward at least skins, we had an event for 7 weeks and all we get is this terrible insulting reward chest.

i would probably complete it as i play wvw a lot but i will not stress about it at all. honestly running dungeons 1 day is 100 percent more rewarding than that insulting reward chest
