very much agree with the op. as a condi mesmer this concerns me. confusion is already weak and hard to stack(after perplexity getss nerfed it will be even harder) and this healing skill could be a big hit vs condi mesmers. if it does healing and cleansing in wvw, then my confusion mesmer will not be able to deal any dmg anymore whatsoever and it is already weak. confusion and torment is pretty much the only thing and this skill could destroy it all.
necros will still be able to destroy everyone and what is weird is that it doesnt affect the worst condis like bleeding and burning.
so anet please check all this before u just release it. u could destroy the condi mesmer and force us to use terrible phantasm build or shatter, which both are not good in wvw imo. soe please can u check this and dont just push into a release without considering this? or dont release it in wvw before u tested it. please just once test this before!

u are aware of the fact that smaller groups will get wiped in seconds if aoe cap gets removed if they meet a bigger group.
i think op had a run in with this build here and yes its frustrating as the warrior has no risk whatsoever and still deals dmg. the regen keeps his health up all the time, plus regen food, plus banners, plus probably runes. stop defending something that is obviously not well balanced. a regen should never tick this high, period.
Lastly for most of this fight the defender is only taking on 2 enemies. All those phantoms are NOT other players and unless the player is in a strong attack build themselves they hit on the low-ish side, same can be said for the ranger’s pet.
One thing we did not see in this video was the damage output from the defender. I can bet you if she was hitting back the damage would have been very, very, very low-average at best. Also you notice that the damage being done to this defender was on the low side so I would say none of the enemies were in berserker mode. Probably either bunker builds themselves or semi survival/damage. If there was 1 or more berserkers this fight would have been VERY different.[/quote]

this skill is concerning as it cleanses too much if it is on a short cooldown. it could render the confusion mesmer to absolute nonviable if the cooldown on that healing skill is shorter than the confusion skills. why does it affect the weakest condition aswell? i understand torment and poison, but this skill seem a little op, also, am i forced to do stupid pve quests to get it? ewwww
If this skill is usable in WvW every person and there grandma will run it in WvW it gets ride of several powerful condition confusion and poison torment and a new condition toxin. Just cluster together and hit your healing skill conditions gone
since when is confusion powerful? i understand that torment and poison, but confusion?!? great thanks anet. its not like u already destroyed the mesmers main condition, u gotta still kick it when its already on the ground! seriously what are u guys even thinking? confusionis the weakest of the weak of the weak and u introduce a skill like tis, because u refuse to fix the condition bomb a necro can do.
now u are hitting the condi mesmer again instead of fixing the necros condi spam. this can render a lot of condition builds with longer cooldowns useless!

defending doesnt need nerfs, attacking does -.-
its too easy to ninja thanks to ram mastery. its too easy to overwhelm with numbers thanks to omega dupes.the rest of your suggestions are mostly good.
yeah if u nerf all the defenses u actually encourage zerging even more. the treb is important as the current rammastery is making gates melt in seconds. if u are outnumbered, all u can do is to turtle up in your keeps and build a ton of siege. eles can pretty much destroy every siege u have. if they cant reach it with meteorshower, they will use the dragontooth “thing” and then there is the ac zoom “thing” that lets the enemy shoot right in the middle of your keep without los at all.
then ther is omega golems that can barely be countered if enemy has a lot of eles that keep u away from walls. etc……
defending a keep should be easier than capping it period. nowadays we barely have time to react. most of the time the zerg is already on the inner, before u can even get in.
id say, we need new keeps! new upgrades, that get traps or something to slow zerg down. traps that can be deadly. traps that can destroy mindless pvdoor zergs. stop the gate tagging. make keeps and towers that have more chokepoints….etc, there is a lot that needs to be done in this area.
the thing is, if u want to be allowed to use a ram, either u have to put it down yourself or have ram mastery 3 or people will just take it away from u as they can deal more dmg on gates and get it down faster
try pvt gear if u run a power based build. i use rabid and glamour spec and have 20k health, but yeah we are sqiushy and the stun meta is hurting us bad. also clones die too quick so its pretty rough to get a shatter to work. mesmers have been balanced around 1v1 where we are doing excellent, but in zergs it is a pain atm.
id recommend to use the trait that creates the shatter effect on your self and distortion grants reflection, so u have a couple of seconds of protections during the initial burst of a zerg.
honestly, i’d rather give up some of our 1v1 duelist, clone, phantasm stuff to get something more wvw oriented….

yeah there is a lot of stuff that is broken right now. perma immobilize and perma stun is not fun for non warriors and then ther is regen warriors…. dont know why this is in the game even…..
very much disagree with u, but im on a higher tier server.we often dont have time to react. u see the swords and very often its almost too late as they are already at inner of the keep for example. defending is a pain as eles can destroy everything on wassl. dragontooth completely ignores los and u can reach far in the back placed siege aswell.
also defending vs omega golemrush…good luck with that…
FA did seem to wake up once they got the 2nd wave of IoJ transfers (is IoJ your farm team or something?) and looked like Gold material; but that was after nearly 3 weeks of lackluster play. To be fair, it was probably really low morale after JQ kicked their teeth in and then getting no rest after they lost significant numbers.
I would call it unintentional sandbagging, a lot of people not logging in and giving it 100%.
that is very true. we were exhausted. all uf us gave 10 vs jq, but after jq stacked up even more and started spawncamping every exit in eb and even in our own bl when we just tried to take 1 camp, was really demoralizing. and then jq took one of our very important large guilds and another one left and a few smalle guild fled FA aswell, because they were tired of fighting t1 and wouldnt wanna face that for 7 weeks in a row.
we are actually not farming for any guilds. we dont buy them or anything( we tried that once with RISE and would never ever do it again). guilds approach us and not the other way around. most of the guilds u see on fa,have been there either from the start or after ioj merge.
this week fa got its spirit back and we are working all together as a community. Fa has always been the underdog and this is what made us stronger. so now this is what fa is like when not demoralized by a t1 server.

Bandwagon indeed.
We joined FA because we thought it was the best fit for us concerning their culture. We looked at multiple servers, none of which were the ones people were expecting to win their respective leagues. We then chose FA. We were not concerned about winning the league, but hey, if that happens and we can help then why the hell not?
We like it here on FA and think this is what we have been missing. The people are great and the atmosphere while playing WvW is one of fun, not work.
Plus, when we joined the wider consensus was that FA was failing. People were mistaken. FA is as strong as ever.

My post was an attempt to point out that other servers also get transfers. If the came to be with a top tier or because they thought it was a good fit, than all the more power to them.

gaining 1 or 2 guilds that are medium sized after losing 1 60 man guild and a 45 man guild and a 15 man guild and another one because of t1 matchups, is not bandwagoning. gaining a ton of players all at once is badwagoning. the FA u met last time was demoralized and tired after fighting t1 for 6 weeks+
all the people i see atm are people i know for very long here on fa( apart from the pve players and the new guilds)

yeah thats funny because all the guilds u see have been on fa since december. soo much to bandwagon. we lost 3-4 guilds( 1 of them was 60 man guild that went to jq) and got 3 new ones. not much of a bandwagon at all. people have to get their fact straight!

i love how warrior defender pretend that there is nothing wrong with their class, taht they arent op and all.u guys were always strong in wvw. u guys were terrible in spvp though. ok u got buffs and they are way too much.

stop trying to defend an op class. it does need a tone down.or maybe u would like al other classes brought up to your level then and then we see u all crying again.
there is this one with perplexity runes and swap the trait to reflecting focus
or try this one with either tormenting runes or perplexity.
thats what my guild leader uses and it works… its just a little tough atm due to the heavy warrior and cc meta…
well mesmer is a great 1v1 class. the clones and pu ability makes them pretty hard to catch in a small encounter. we lack a lot tough in wvw zergfights as all our clones die in 1second. then u get permablinded and cant spawn a phantasm, etc. we lack aoe and skills for bigger teamfights.
i main a mesmer and i have a hard time when i meet another blackwater pu mesmer. they are not easy to fight. it requires more than just spamming your auto attacks to kill one and as mesmer it sure takes a lot more than just spamming.
225 dolyaks is slightly less than the original numbers…..took 8 months to kill 1000 of them lol

yeah there is people that put on the tag just to cap the bloodlust or to escort dolyaks or to get stuff repaired and siege up keeps. we also have a comunity ts which helps with defense a lot.
erm anet warned u guys about the queues in t1 and so did we. yes even in t2 and t3 we have queues, but i get usually in after 5-10 min and yes im getting achievements. as t1 has had a bad impact on my server. people didnt log in and t1 even bought a big na guild from us which was demoralizing, but now we have a lot of new wvw players and a few new guilds that joined us and we all are loving the leagues. wvw is alive again!
karma for the bandwagoners! anet told u that the queues would be terrible. the lower population servers are having fun now while the stacked servers are in queue.
on (FA) we have both. we got commanders that are attacking and open field battle a lot and then we got guilds that upgrade, repair and build a lot of siege for defense. its actually good if u have 1 zerg that puts pressure on the other servers, while u upgrade and defend. the problem is, when there is only 1 giant mapblob that is only offensive.
on fa, we got a lot of havoc groups and our zerg normally splits up apart from eb as eb is more zergy than the bl’s
well transferring to a t1 server because some guilds promised no queues and easy achievments. well we all warned u guys that the queues could be terrible during the leagues. bandwagoning to a t1 server was not a good idea, but yes u can transfer back to you server.
my server (FA) has lost a big guild to jq, because they were offered gold and easy wins. it did hurt our server, but we got a few guilds before the leagues that were looking for awesome fights. now we have queues, but they never last long.
i wait like 5-10 min and boom, in while the guilds that bandwagoned to t1 are stuck in queue. we are all having a blast atm …karma :-)
im on fa and yes we got queues, but we all still get in and fair weathers have returned. so i see all the people i usually see in wvw. i like that we got new players and some might will find a liking in wvw.
You knew what queues WERE like. There’s your problem. You assumed queues are going to be the same forever. A little forward thinking would have told you that WvW Season 1 was going to ratchet up the queues.
Oh c’mon. You guys up in T1 country were even WARNED. Devon himself posted it, and you guys were like “Oh, queues aren’t like that. Don’t overstate it. You don’t know your own game. Your numbers are wrong. Come, keep stacking our server! The queues are a myth!”
Did nobody up there actually stop to calculate that for the few hundred, to maybe couple thousand WvW players a server has, even the most WvW loaded server in NA like SoR, they have four to six times as many PvErs, and realized the T1 queue times would be made four to six times worse because of that?
Maybe next time a dev says something on the forums, actually listen instead of just bashing him.
So what you are saying is the people in T1 who have been playing WvW since it went live a year ago are getting what they deserve for playing WvW all this time?
Ya, they should all move down to the empty servers so they can PvDoor to their hearts content. Maybe every once in awhile they will actually be able to fight someone.
no i think the problem was that some of your guilds have bought other guilds and stacked up too uch. those are to blme and also the bandwagoners that wanted gold league and easy wins…
im enjoying the leagues so far. im on FA and yes we have queues, but most of the time there will be 1 map open or with a very shot queue. i like seeing all the new players and dont mind them tagging along. we have a big community ts and welcome everyone.
wvw seems more alive then ever. if u are on t1. sry, but we’ve all told u that crazy queues will happen.
as for the lag…i was kinda used to it when facing t1 servers….but needs a fix!
Yes i am on a T1 server and yes we had queue’s before this new season started BUT not queue’s that took 3-5 hours. I simply cant understand how Arenanet can put out new PvE content EVERY 2 weeks and not been able to fix things within WvW. Arenanet shows time and time again that WvW isnt their top priority. Why havent they fixed the siege building bug that have been an issue in WvW since day 1, and dont tell me to switch weapons when i am stuck after building because i am an Elementalist. Why havent they been able to improve skillag while Arenanet promised MONTHS ago to improve this issue.
I Personally am a hard core WvW player and just getting sick and tired how Arenanet keeps neglecting these bugs/issues within WvW. The WvW community within GW2 have been patient enough towards Arenanet hoping they would come with solutions towards bugs/skillag and as a reward they give us INSANE queue times with this WvW season, and a possible fix in 2014 isnt fast enough if you ask me, it needs to be resolved asap…
now here is the thing though. we all told u guys that the queues would be terrible if u dont stop buying all our guilds. we all knew that pve achievment hunters will try out wvw and some of them will stay till season ends as the servers performance affects the chest u will get.
we warned u all, but u guys kept stacking and now u have queues…i hate to say it but we told ya so!
its also the weekend so the queues will go down a little after that.
actually most of the pve players have been fun to work with. a lot of them ask if they dont know what to do and we invited them all in our s so they can learn the ropes fast. who knows, some pve players will like wvw and wvw will get more populated again for servers that had their guilds lost to t1.
my queues in fa are between 0-max 30 min atm. i like the ap system. finally we are getting some reward for wvw. u must be on a t1 server then
T1 never get it cause of queues of 3 hours :/

dont blame anet for it. NA T1 actually recruited and bought guilds from their opponents and crippled many servers with it. so that is thoes servers community fault. anet never said: go stack all in t1. they wanted us to spread out. and we all warned t1 servers about this.
we told them that the queues could become a problem during season1. but no, they took even more guilds to be able to field 70+ man zergs on each map 24/7….well now pve players have joined wvw….
well karma can bite….buying guilds, crippling other servers to overstack yours, u should have know that pve players would get in wvw to get a chest too. we all told u so….
i got an exotic, a tome of knwoledge and a blue from my first chest. im sure the league reward will be better. it also depends on your overall server performance.
no i disagree. i think pve players should have as much rights to get into wvw as we do. not everyone with a high rank= useful in wvw. im on fa and yes some people were stuck in queue for 30min-1hour (eb and fabl), but we all got in and we all are having a blast.
dont forget that its reset weekend, so there is always more people on than during the week.

erm yup mesmer was top of the hexers in gw1…would love to see some similar mesmer skills like the hexes in gw2.. especially in wvw(mesmer aoe)
retal was nerfed in wvw. retal was too much. imagine u hit a retalzerg with a feedback bubble as a mesmers….=used to be insta death.
if u are not used to push with zergs. try necro and stay ranged. stay in the backline and nuke them with the marks and wells. there should be a bunch of builds in your profession section
oh maybe thats why. first try to get ram mastery 3, so commanders let u use rams.
second: dont worrie 7 weeks is a loooooooong time so u got plenty of time to be on a ram, cata or treb.
FA needs more people, because after the leagues TC wants a challenging fight from you guys again~

yes a lot of pve players dont know what to do. here is what my server(fa) does: we have them all join our community ts and we offer build suggestions and show them how to wvw and it has been working out great so far! we welcome the pve players and if they find a liking in wvw why not? we all work together as a community.
also im rank 420 and a mesmer, so i sure can be an epic rallybot if i get caught off guard. i make mistakes and i die a lot.
and btw our pve commander took the well defended smc all with pve players today after we pulled back and sorta gave up on it :-)

50 is not that much u got 7 weeks. i got 12 last night just from wiping zergs. not sure about t1 servers though because of the endless queues
its actually fun here on fa. the pve players are lost at first, but we go them all in ts now and they seem to be having a lot of fun. some people that never played pvp in this game might have a rough time at first, but we help them with builds and all that and now they love it.
