I shelled out hundreds of dollars for my playstation, if they locked up the basic features to it until I purchased the latest software update, I would be furious.

Few ways but not the most ideal.

Do a search by quantity. EG: recently bought the last 40 Nickel dyes for 20s, sold them all for 2g the same day.

placing orders on mats and reselling in small amounts to keep it flowing.

Buy rare minis cheap and forge them (if you like gambling) or buy holographic dragons and forge them for rares.

and my favourite: Buy a bunch of BL weapon skins for 60g during the release event, and sell them 6 months later.

Be warned though, Anet changes things quite frequently that could effect your sales, For example, Electro dye kits and fractal weapon chests.

You need to find guilds you enjoy.

I am in 3 guilds currently.

1`for PvE, 1 for PvP and the 3rd is a dead WvW guild.

Silverwastes! Seriously, not even chest farming, just doing the events gets me that much gold. You can get even more though with chest farming. I would make 100g a day sometimes chest farming. What I do is salvage EVERYTHING, I mean everything that is below 1g. Sell items 1g or more on the TP. After salvaging everything, you’ll end up with valuable mats like silk, linen, ores and other expensive mats. You sell those all.

Can I ask… How many hours are involved in a days play for you?

Could I make this 100g a day from 2 hours or will I need to invest 8+ hours?

62 days to make a legendary is rather quick considering how long it took to make a legendary after GW2 release.

Some people have played since beta, and still don’t have a legendary.

So if I get this right… People are angry they advertised to buy gems to convert to gold?

People are angry, that a business, is trying to make some money, with advertisements…. I can’t be the only one that thinks this is silly.

The Advertisement itself, is just to put the idea into your head, to buy gems. That’s it. No conspiracy or new lows. Just a simple advertisement to say “hey man, don’t forget that buying gems can get you quite a bit of gold”.

Most players I know have 2+ accounts. Majority of them made another account when HoT was released.

1.5 million accounts jumped to 3 million accounts, the math is there.

My thoughts is that Diamond Skin is utterly useless. THE ONLY REASON it’s effective, is because Tempest Aura builds that spit out protection and heals. The protection is the bloody problem.

Protection on Tempest build is 40%.

40% reduced damage. Take Earth for another 10%. Frost Auras for ANOTHER 10%. Scrapper Runes for another 7%.

-67% physical damage, heal abuse and immunity conditions.

Diamond skin IS NOT the problem. It’s just part of it. The real issue is nearly 3/4 damage is negated passively as a permanent bonus.

If we could rework the trait lines a little on earth and remove that passive -10% damage reduction, maybe some condition builds will have more success at breaking that 10% health pool to apply conditions. Ontop of that, if we remove protection when applying an Aura at the given state that an Ele can dispense them, that would remove the permanent uptime on protection which is essentially 40% damage negation. I’m sure that much of a drop in direct damage intake would allow for more condition builds to shine and even stand a chance.

I’m curious why it’s offensive?

People prefer you to be ascended. You’ll find some groups that don’t expect to have ascended.
Personally if you aren’t up for the hurdle of ascended crafting raids might not be for you?
But yes there will be some groups who want purely Ascended Gear. As it does give a nice benefit when you finish it.

Due to the elitism involving raids, clearly I handed over $50 for content I’ll never be able to play.

But apparently I paid $50 to never experience it due to elitism.

I was Avid LoL player until my partner bought me this game 3 years ago (3000+ wins). GW2 has been the only game I have played properly since then, now sitting at 7k hours. Hell, even blew off a PS4 and most of the games on that too.

Guild Wars 2 combat system is what keeps me playing, the large scale warfare that WvW used to be. Right now it’s purely PvP, but recently even that has become stagnant trying to fight passives and traps instead of players.

I will continue to keep playing for now, but this is mostly due to the amount of investments I have made through gem sales, the same reason I still play LoL from time to time after I had purchased all champs + 90% of skins including all legendaries.

All up though, 3 years of the game. The game is beautiful. Stunning. Just waiting for the next PvP meta to swing through. Hopefully one that relies on players and skill and not so much on passives + traps.

I’m pretty pro once I’ve had a few drinks and start fighting off point repping my “Leader of the Yak” title!

Diamond skin is useless, just flavor of the month right now trying to counter the many Wanderer amulets floating around.

PvP guide, but fairly easy to swap to WvW. Take Axe/Focus instead of staff though for wvw.

Reaper is very versatile, your play style will matter more than anything. This build is like a bruiser build, similar to Olaf or Wukong in LoL.

The strength of the build I posted, is decimating defenses with Death Perception, allowing you to take a full valk/cav mixture at 100% chance to start off with.

I’ve stopped solo roaming recently, not entirely sure how successful I was roaming, I could win most 1v1-1v3 depending on classes and skill levels but mostly I would just be getting zerged or running around empty maps.

I used to like buying character slots, up to 17. I have 3 Necros, all different races. Only 1 is reaper status, the other 2 I still have to “earn”… Would be much nicer to just switch race rather than grind another 250 hero points to play the same class.

On another note: Selling all the gear from your class multiples that you’ll never be able to use again brought in some nice gold. No real point in having gear on them anymore

They already blatantly stated that elite specs were merely a naming convention and were not to be taken literally. They were supposed to be an alternative form of gameplay that does not outclass pre hot specs. Supposed to be though.

Then they should ring up Oxford and ask for them to change the dictionary meaning of “elite” if they suddenly want definitions of a word changed to cater to advertisement purposes.

If Elite specs become anything other than Elite, then personally I want a refund as I paid for elite specs.. I didn’t pay for another specialization tree, I paid for an elite specialization tree.

this build is complete garbage… not only do you die easily to focus in a teamfight because you don’t have an actual stunbreak or teleport but you also lack ranged support to go offnode when you need it but still have to support allies.

tripple utility shout is a terrible idea and i would put scepter before staff and dagger at last. diamond skin is way too situational to be first pick and is more or less only useful in a 1v1 against a condi build, which will end in a tie because xou don’t have the damage to kill it either nor should you be in a 1v1 as a supporter at all.

This is by far the most common ele/tempest build in both EUand NA high tier.

Some people are going to win thousands of dollars with this build while you’re posting here about how you can’t comprehend why it’s good, which (by your logic) obviously means that everyone else is wrong.

I’m over the CC…. but on the other hand, My warrior with Mace/shield bulls charge and headbutt has been having fun killing people while they are permanently under CC.

DH traps are a joke… The more people play, the less effective they have become.

Just yesterday I watched 2 DH on the enemy team try and hold mid point, 1 pet triggered all their traps so they both turned tail and ran off point until their next “burst” which we dodged out of and they again, ran off point.

Seriously guys, just play the game and you will naturally counter DH by experience.

A lot of people complained about the small guilds and the players who only roam and fight and how it ruined their WvW experience… The “World v World” mentality being that it must be only large scale fights and 0 roamers or fight guilds to ruin the experience because we have “PvP for that” and “Guild Halls” if we want fights.

Well now you got what you asked for, no fight guilds, no roamers, a bunch of empty towers available for free karma training.

I get it all the time.. It usually happens after dodging and switching weapons for me.

Could we also add broom stick to the list? and glittering wings? and all dragon wings?

I used to get that sorta lag, but since HoT it has upgraded itself to constant screen freezes every 10-15s….

With BB, you can either heal yourself or give yourself Lifeforce… It doesn’t sound like much until you are able to start off EVERY pvp game with Life force for that first engagement.

Outside of shroud, the only way you gain boons with your build is SpecWalk and hitting a target below 50% health…… so much Life Force generation….. oh and your runes…. you must be unstoppable.

I’ve been asked a lot what my Reaper build is lately so here it is.

A little bit of a run down:

It’’s a Valk/Cav build. You take Cav amulet for fighting power based teams or teams with 2 DH or more. You take Valk for condition based teams.

Double teleport build, potential for lots of plays, especially Spectral Recall while you use gravedigger. The mobility potentials is extremely high as you can use Flesh Wurm and spectral recall to almost instantly travel between 2 points.

Against DH or trap monsters: Send your golem in first to set off traps.

This is not one of those builds where you can spam your skills to be effective, you need to use your skills as utilities more than anything. You need to save your condi transfers when you actually have condi, you also don’t use spectral walk for swiftness either. That is your stun break AND your re-engagement after you refresh, you spectral recall back to point mid gravedigger as your engagement.

So for me: Flesh Wurm is off point somewhere safe for my stun break and disengage. I activate spectral Walk, activate flesh wurm teleport to safety, refresh and heal, Gravedigger to spectral Recall back to point and with some luck (80% of the time) your enemy will sit on point and eat your gravedigger.

The strength in the build comes from Trait Synergy. Deatch Perception and Decimate Defenses will provide you with 100% crit chance. Your traits also allow for vuln stacking to 25 and maintain 25 vuln, it also allows for 25 might.

So with 25 vuln (25% extra damage) added to the traits and sigils. We have a total of 50% extra damage, you could potentially raise that higher using different runes (strength for examle) but you’ll find Hoelbrak alot more useful when you encounter a condi mes.

Some personal tips about the GS: Your AA is almost useless, so try not to rely on it. Use your GS as a utility source. It has a pull, so use it to save your allies from stomps, to drag ppl off point, what ever pleases you. Your Blind field is amazing, use it as much as you can, it also helps secure stomps against classes you would normally need stability for such as guard.

Hopefully this build can help a few people out in PvP and gain a baseline/guideline to the class

Trying out the 64 Bit client, which looks really amazing. I don’t understand much on PC stuff, but my game graphics are a lot more detailed and the gameplay is a lot smoother.

I have noticed an issue though when in PvP using a Reaper, if I use Death Shroud, all name plates ally and enemy become nearly greyed out as if they were dead enemies/allies.

This is very small, but in PvP it was actually a big thing when fighting on point and not knowing who allies/enemies were in the heat of battle, I feel the name plates should be different colors and not just grey. Or the colors should be a lot more richer to make things clearer.

I understand where OP is coming from, but I’m not one of those players to go out grind a bunch of stuff I don’t like for something I do want. I would much rather buy some gems and convert it to gold to buy what I need/want instantly.

Fractal chests for example: Level 1 fractal level, but now a proud owner of 3 Fractal skins because I bought gems and strait up paid for them. I get what I want, the seller made 300g and Anet made $50.

If your argument is about earning the RNG drops on chests or how ever it works, all that argument sounds like is that you had to grind a section of the game to a point it frustrated you just for that item. I do not play games to get frustrated or bored grinding, I play games to cure boredom and release frustration from a work day.
